Van HalenGuitar in top jimmy is so good. A shame most of the songs just take me back to commercials from the early 2000s. Guess thats what happens when you become iconic. Would I enjoy these songs more without this context? Eh, maybe.

That is a rough listen. So much rape, pedophelia, misogyny. The rhymes are good but if it’s still unpleasant what’s the point?
This might be one of the most irritating albums I’ve ever listened to. It’s like an annoying kid poking you and you tell them to stop so they leave their pointer finger a centimeter away from your arm and scream BUT I’M NOT EVEN TOUCHING YOU. Introducing the instruments was really painful to listen. The last minute of part 2 made me want to rip my ears out. Like we get it. Shut up. The single is fine. It’s not offensive. Sailors hornpipe is.. idk i was so done with the album by this point Overall, it wasn’t the worst thing ever but I would much prefer to never listen to this again.
Sounds like a mediocre movie soundtrack. I do like the last title though.
There’s a couple classics which is why it doesn’t get 1 star, but that bj skit is so gross. All the skits are so cringe.
This album is so tedious. Every song is 3 minutes too long. I skipped one song because it had a drone that sounded like a dentist drill which was physically painful.
I love folk music in general, and can’t believe I never heard of Fairport Convention. Loved this album, and now I have to catch up on the rest of their discography.
Ive always found Come out and play to be an annoying song. The rest of it was fine, some was mildly enjoyable. I would rather not listen to it again.
Pleasant. Not particularly memorable but it’s nice.
I get why this album isn’t for everybody but this is one of my favorites. Hounds of love, running up that hill, and cloud bursting are incredibly catchy, and then it dives (no pun intended) into a story of life and death. In these songs Kate Bush’s main intent is telling the story, prioritizing effective imagery over sounding pretty and of course this is where the controversy lies. If you (understandably)want music to sound nice and pretty, you will probably not like this album. If you like weird stuff and and enjoy how different sounds and samples are used to paint a picture, you’ll love it.
So at first I hated it, then around War in Peace I felt like it was growing on me but then the last third of the album was as bad as the first.
Decent album. A lot of great songs, but it’s too long and after a while many of the songs begin to meld together and it starts feeling like a chore to get through the whole thing.
Not a fan of the whining speak singing she does. It’s pretty annoying. That being said if it was 15 years ago and I heard this while shopping at Forever 21 I wouldn’t have been too mad about it. I get it, it’s just not for me.
Guess I like blues now.
Having this album right after BB Kings is like a cruel prank. Why is it a 75 minute album??! And you finally are basically at the end and they punish you one more time with a TEN MINUTE OUTRO. Jfc.
It wasn’t bad, I respect the album, but I would rather not listen to it.
21 Questions is so nostalgic, but besides that this album was not a pleasant listening experience.
I was floating between a 2 and a 3… I settled for a 2 because even though there’s a few catchy hits, at the end of the day, if someone asked me, “hey wanna listen to this album from beginning to end?” I would say no.
Not particularly memorable, but fine to listen to.
Was deciding between a 3 and 4 then I listened to Flowers, which made the decision much easier.
I respect the album, has some great hits, but overall it’s just not for me.
The first album i will skip and not listen to. Fuck nazis.
Though I don’t really go out of my way to listen to Indian classical music, I always enjoy it when I do. So I really liked this album and thought it was a nice refreshing change to most of the albums on this list. I think labelling it as pretentious just because it’s “world music” is.. tacky, to put lightly. I thought the album was cool! I also appreciated the overlying theme of nuclear weapons- not in the sense of yay nuclear weapons, but i thought the storytelling was effective. Especially in the last song, Beyond Skin.
It’s not terrible it’s just really not my genre.
I appreciate and respect the social commentary and its impact, but in terms of the music itself it’s just not really my thing. A 2.5, rounded up to 3.
Oy vey.
This album is so good!!! Witchy punky gothy, and finally, another female led band
I really like a couple of the songs on here, but because there’s 69 the couple don’t really outweigh the rest.
Not necessarily bad just not memorable at all. I didn’t even notice when the album ended.
In general I’m not against theatrical pop, but most of this album was just icky. Theme from Casanova was mildly pleasant though.
I really like Mr Blue Sky so I was excited to listen to this but I honestly found it extremely underwhelming and somehow a bit boring? Shame.
I haven’t listened to Korn since middle school but I did what I usually don’t and read the reviews before listening and thought, Oh no. And then I started listening and I thought hey this isn’t too bad! Not my favorite but Freak On a Leash still is catchy as hell :D …And then Children of the Korn started. And then All in the Family was somehow worse. I ended up taking out my headphones halfway through to prevent my brain from leaking out of my ears and accidentally skipped the next song. Then I was punished by being yelled at that I’m going to die. I disassociated for a bit then woke up to some Britney Spears-esque vocal fry in My Gift to You. Then i checked out again.
I can’t put my finger on why, but i found this album to be extremely irritating
This album is sick. The orchestra adds a depth and fullness to the songs and I think the only reason people find it a bit dissonant is preconceived notions on what orchestral music is supposed to sound like. The harp in The Outlaw Torn particularly tickled something in my brain. What a delight. Past the orchestra, Metallica’s performance is great. Other than the hits, I never really listened to Metallica. I will be checking out their other stuff after this.
It’s pleasant music but like someone else said, it seems like they’re always so close to doing something interesting and then they don’t.
To be fair I’m only a bit over 100 albums into this list but as of now this album has without a doubt the worst vocals. Can’t say much about the instruments because this guys voice is so distractingly horrible.
Really liked alice in wonderland
