Lloyd had big plans of being a kickboxer but instead somehow fell into making a synth-y Brit-pop band from the 80's more mediocre than it would've been on its own. "Down On Mission Street" was a damn good song. Everything else was very boring. Were these guys even aware of what was going on with music in 1984? Michael Jackson, Depeche Mode, Def Leppard, REM, Van Halen, X.... Maybe these guys thought that compared to everything else at the time, that their sound was really fresh and innovative. Good Lord was this album boring as hell.

This album fucking blowwwss unghh. It’s like a dollar tree version of the cure. Like a Midwest cover and you find in a busted ass bar that does the whole new wave style with a little twang, but is somehow styleless while also derivative of a far superior band. Holy fuuuuuuck

Quanta fatica ho fatto per finire questo disco, il sound ottantone era proprio quello di cui non avevo bisogno. Ad esclusione di qualche piccolo riff sparso non ho trovato niente e mi è arrivato come troppo semplice e brutto come disco. C'è gente meglio che ha preso 2 quindi se becca un bell'uno.

Found it hard to be objective on this one. It doesn't seem to be particularly popular (at the time or now) and it doesn't seem particularly influential, so it must be about the musical quality. Feels like this is the sort of thing a music critic would choose, but it's not my bag at all. 3/10
