REM - abit hit and miss for me, only really like there popular stuff like the basic bitch i am

I really expected to like this album a lot more than I did. I feel like it's not really pop or rock, so it sits in this almost uncanny valley between the two genres. Every song has a moment or two that I enjoyed, but the songs themselves feel jarring and musically uncomfortable in my opinion. Not a very pleasant listen

Was looking forward to this album when I saw a couple of REMs hits on it. Aprr of those hits, nothing else was worth the listen

As someone who has even liked REM in the past!: tbh I don't know why it made the list. Lousy poetry, not sold on the politics (in fairness, politics are fucking hard to write about cleverly and convincingly), musically meh, and the interplay between lyrics/vocals and music meh.

Bland and annoying vocals. Imo, there’s so much better alt rock out there. I don’t get the hype

Nothing offensive about this. R.E.M. has always been a "greatest hits" band for me generally speaking. Maybe it was groundbreaking or very innovative in indie rock for it's time and michale stipe is a very iconic voice in both lyrics and general tone but nothing outside of Orange Crush really hits for me.

nautin tästä harmillisen vähän. hyvin laajalti arvostettua bändi kyseessä ja silti toista ykköstä viedään, vaikkakin automatic for the popula albumissa oli todella hyvää settiä. kaikisssa albumeissa samanlaiset wibat mutta biisit ovat tässä vaan tylsempiä, mitäänsanomattomia.. mahdolllisesti kymmenen vuotta sitten tämä olisi voinut pinttyä aivosoluihin joka veisi musiikkimakuani tulevaisuuten...nostalgiaefekti pakko olla läsnä... muuten tämä on täyttä kuravettä.. jota se on.. world leader pretend

I liked maybe one or two songs but I was quite bored listening to this..

Hate it. 0/10. Every song reminds me of the 2 rem songs I do like in a very repetitive and not at all satisfying manner.

I don’t know who bothered to remaster this piece of hot garbage, but clearly they wasted their time. The album was whiney and pretty annoying to listen to. I make fun of music like this all the time.

Nothing stands out very much with this album, and while I can appreciate it probably was potentially inspirational to the future of alt-rock music, it seems so bland and non-provoking that I would not listen to it again, and will likely not think of it again. 1/5 or 21/100.

Honestly, i’m such a big fan of every REM album but this one. I felt i kinda had to push my way through it. I honestly don’t know if i could even choose a favorite from this album. was not the vibe. Any other album i would have absolutely loved.

Not the biggest REM fan, and this album didn't really change that

Again one of the albums which should‘ve made place for more unique ones that lack this list so hurtfully. Instead we got a relevance through sales listing / big name

R.E.M was never my thing outside of the most popular songs (Orange Crush included which is on this album and it’s a great song). I don’t particularly care for the sound or vocals much, so this is miss in my personal opinion.
