It's impressive that Bob Dylan is so successful in music with a voice this horrible

Great background while scrolling Breaking Bad Reddit
It would be really fun to listen to this stuff live. Unfortunately that wasn’t an option for me today
PYT is creepy as fuck
I appreciated that this was different but I had to apologize to Emma for having it on in the car

Long album, lots of potential here that I can't fully appreciate in just one day. I can tell every song is good, not sure yet which will click and be great. Time will tell but I'm not sure any are as good as Living For the City. Favorites: Pastime Paradise, Village Ghetto Land
I was happy when it was over
Already knew some of these songs and “Till Death Do Us Part” was a good new find. I probably won’t come back to this one but I enjoyed it for what it was
I really wanted to like this so I listened on repeat all day but I was never blown away. Oh well. I really enjoyed Chest Fever and wished more songs were like it. I mildly enjoyed Tears of Rage but not enough to add it to my Spotify liked songs
Fun! I'll be back
Was lovely in the background of Crash Bandicoot but upon further listening I just wished it was The Beatles Favorite song: It Happens Each Day
Didn't know until today that Leonard Cohen and Lou Reed are two different people. I find Lou Reed wildly boring and so when I got this rec I was expecting Velvent-Underground-boringness but I had the wrong guy! I was pleasantly surprised with this, but likely would've given it a 3 if my little mix up didn't put expectations on the floor. I really liked "Sing Another Song, Boys" and "Avalanche" was nice. I'll be back but only when I'm in looking to feel a very particular sad way
I couldn't stand this Only ok song: "Less Than Zero" but even that I probably won't touch again 2025 edit: I gave this 1 star before experiencing a true 1 star album. 2 stars
It's not you, it's me One day I'll learn to appreciate jazz. not today though
Favorite: River Euphrates
I was excited because I love Bowie but I found this boring
not excited
my first DNF
chillers
I enjoyed this. Patterns and For Emily, Wherever I May Find Her stuck and 7 O'clock News / Silent News was clever
Just like when listening to The Byrds, I just wished this was The Beatles. But The Byrds were better than The Sonics so this gets a 2
Alanis is a very high maintenance ex
I’m sure this is objectively great but unfortunately I was quite bored :( You’ve Got a Friend slaps though
Better than expected given what I thought country music is, but still not exciting for me
Background music for a grainy video of a 13 year old in Etnies doing 8 shuv it variations
I vibed hard to this
I felt like I was in a very long elevator
Was nice in the background but no songs stuck in any capacity. one song sticking feels like minimum for 3 stars
green to red
Not Bad
It would be really fun to listen to this stuff live. Unfortunately that wasn’t an option for me today
Music exceeded my expectations for country. And cool to learn about Gram Parsons. His life was wild
YES
bored
Blessed right at the beginning with a 13 minuter
Jesus Etc is a classic and Poor Places slaps. The rest is bland
Not my thing :(
Gimme Shelter is great. After that, I expected to be blown away and wasn't. I'll have to try again another time
I can see the appeal even though I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to listen to any besides Them Bones in the future
Enjoyed the first song! fell off after that
I feel exactly the way I did when I rated Songs in the Key of Life. Every song is good, not sure which will stick upon more listens, wish the album were a bit shorter
Solid
I wish I was anything but a rock
No individual song stood out but the whole experience was fun
I expected to give this album 2 stars since it's missing Pictures of Home, my favorite from Machine Head (3 stars). During Child in Time I was ready to give this 5 stars. 50+ minutes later I've settled down to 3
Pleasantly surprised, especially since it's punk
Enjoyable for a bit but was ready for the album to be done well before it finished
I really can't tell if this is good or really annoying
TC and Honeybear and Queen of Denmark both sounded great on listen #1 which is very rare
Sweet Child of Mine slaps, but on first listen I found everything else to be sooooo annoying. I made a playlist of the songs I found least annoying: It's So Easy, Mr. Brownstone, and You're Crazy. I'll be spending all day trying to appreciate them. End of day update: Mr. Brownstone is good, the other two I can stand
This was generated for me almost 2 weeks ago but I'm only just getting to it now because this one feels like a chore to get through
I expected a lot from this (told Maggie this would be a 5), then realized I enjoyed this much more as a kid than I do now
I don't get the hype
Feb 6: Maggie gets this album and we start to listen together. She turns it off almost immediately and leaves 1 star rating "It stressed me out." I say I'd have enjoyed it on my own. April 6: I get this album and it doesn't hit. I wait to be in a better mood and leave it unrated. May 16: Maggie shows me Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore's collaboration with Bernie Sanders. This makes me want to like Sonic Youth even more. +1 stars for this June 1: Accepting defeat. It stressed me out
ok ok ok ok
First listen was great and it got worse the more I listened
I had a good nap to this
I enjoyed their album Road to Rouen so I was excited for this...then let down
Actively disliked this one
update: still underwhelmed
I'm really enjoying this but worry I'll never listen again because it's off Spotify
I've come back to this album many times and found something new every time - this time it was "Had No One Ever" Long time favorite: I Know It's Over. It's so brutal
Pleasant
I already knew Flower from the Bring Sally Up/Down push up challenge. I'm happy the other songs weren't as annoying as that one, but dang what a long album (was I supposed to also listen to the B sides?)
Listened twice, nothing stuck
I already knew When Doves Cry (I prefer Patti Smith's cover) and Purple Rain. Darling Nikki is new and I enjoyed it. The rest didn't stand out
some good moments
I Am Waiting was pleasant but I really don't get the Rolling Stones hype
why so long
This album was generated for me weeks ago and I'd been holding off on rating it in hopes I'd enjoy it more when in the mood. It appears, sadly, I'm never in the mood
1 week, 2 rolling stones albums. bored as always
It started out shocking, then was entertaining, then became unbearable
I enjoyed this
This genre is really not for me
It's impressive that Bob Dylan is so successful in music with a voice this horrible
Interesting jazz
I have this CD in my car
Rachel and I agreed it "could be worse" as background music in the car but that's the only nice thing we had to say
3 Deep Purple albums, 3 3-star ratings. Child in Time slaps. The rest are forgettable
Starts out nice and proggy then gets gradually more boring as it goes on
I think this would be nice in the background on Christmas. Unfortunately today is not Christmas
This was really nice at first, 4/5 stars experience. Then I thought it got so repetitive I wanted to turn it off, 1/5 stars experience. I realized too late it's because the Youtube playlist I played the album on was repeating songs. But regardless the songs started to all sound the same. 3/5 final answer.
I already knew and liked a lot of these. Try Not to Breathe was a great new find
Pleasant but forgettable
Our villa got robbed and then we filed a report in broken Italian to the Carabinieri and then we listened to this album and I think that’s what this album was created for. +1 stars for good timing
I really tried with this one but I find it so wildly boring. Maybe I'd relate more if I were going through a period of feeling intense unrequited love, but I'm not.
Buono!
I miei preferiti: We Are the Pigs e The Asphalt World
ogni canzone suona come le altre canzoni
Day 1 thoughts: I begrudgingly gave Led Zeppelin IV 5 stars since everyone else did, Stairway rocks, and I knew every other song (even though I wouldn’t seek out the other songs). On this album, I only knew Immigrant Song going in and the others seem more promising than I expected. Proggier vibes, reminds me of ELP at times. I need to listen more times to determine my thoughts Many days later: really like Friends. Still need more work on this album but it's about time I rate it
I listened twice on the plane and then forgot everything about it
fav: The Secret Life of Arabia
Constantly alternating between pretty good and annoying, which is exhausting. I'd maybe enjoy this more if I heard one song at a time, instead of the whole album at once.
Not bad but nothing stood out over the songs I already knew (Tonight Tonight, Bullet with Butterfly Wings, 1979). Granted, songs that stand out usually do so on the second or later listens and I only listened once because this was two whole hours
Would be 4 if it were shorter
Didn't enjoy this one but it might just be that I was doomed to dislike anything playing as I'm prepping calculus lectures
It's Shameless June! This album reminds me of a time period during which I felt more shame. Good thing we're not there. Also, I know people shit on Muse but I'm going to rate this highly because it's Shameless June.
I've been surprisingly bored by Peter Gabriel's solo stuff. A bummer because I had high expectation since I love Genesis's Foxtrot
Hjartað Hamast (bamm bamm bamm) sounds exactly like you'd expect a song titled "Hjartað Hamast (bamm bamm bamm)" to sound like
This was nice. Look into this album more if Neil Young ever returns to Spotify. I think On The Beach was my favorite, but that might have just been the song that was on when I was paying the most attention
Respect slaps. I didn’t notice the other songs but was excited when the album looped around and Respect came on again
Listened twice. We all know Proud Mary but was anything else supposed to stand out?
I liked the opening. The rest was nice enough too, but less memorable. Then I went and listened to Paranoid and I think I liked that album better
not much to say here
I actually kind of enjoyed Original, but the other songs are so boring and there are too many of them
We Got the Beat was so much more annoying than I remembered, but Our Lips Are Sealed and This Town weren't bad and they prevent this from getting 2 stars
Even worse than Leftism (2 star electronica album from two days ago)
I didn't enjoy this at all but I'm not sure I'm the intended audience. I'll give benefit of the doubt and give 2 stars instead of 1. Maybe I missed some cool lyrics due to not knowing French
This wasn't bad but I expected more from a Davie Bowie album. I prefer his proggy side and this was a little too chill for me
Of course this album is horrible to listen to but I did laugh out loud when Birthday Boy came on
Much easier to listen to than Duck Stab/Buster & Glen, but also much more forgettable. results in the same rating Nevermind, last minute +1 more star because Through a Long & Sleepless Night is nice
Photograph was my favorite. while I don't have any real complaints, I listened twice and didn't leave with a desire to come back to any of these
In theory, the sampling is so cool. In practice, I struggled to listen to more than a few songs at a time
Another day another punk album :/
Maggie likes it more
Bill Wurtz is that you?
Not my genre at all but it's good to hear different things
Cruel of the generator to give me this immediately after The Jam
Been on an REM kick since I got Automatic for the People two months ago. Probably would’ve listened to this today even if it wasn’t generated
Years ago after listening to the Rivals podcast on Neil Young vs Lynyrd Skynyrd, I listened to Southern Man for the first time and thought it was so boring. This time it was so good
People who like long songs 🤝 people who like short songs
Take It Easy and Peaceful Easy Feeling are nice enough but the rest was more boring than expected
Someone on Reddit recommended these guys to me (and it got 160 upvotes): "Also based on those same bands plus liking Yes and Kansas, I bet you'd dig the Nine Inch Nails discography. Spans the gamut of musical styles of rock and was often placed side-by-side with Radiohead in 90s music articles discussing bands that could "flirt with mainstream success while being groundbreaking and unique". Still a relevant band today, since the two main members recently won an Oscar and a Grammy for their soundtrack work on movies like The Social Network and Pixar's Soul. Don't ignore the second release, Broken, just because it's an EP. Ditto the three most recent releases, the "EP trilogy". The discography spans from 1989-Present and has 11 albums/EPs you'd want to hit." After this album, I'm not sure he's right that I'd like them. But I'm down to give another try one day
Surprisingly my least favorite was the Pink Floyd cover
If this is the greatest hip hop album of all time then I have no hope of getting into this genre
Back to Life is a bop
Jokes and the rest of the album aside, the last 2:40 of A Very Cellular Song are absolutely beautiful
pleasant
I'd have a better chance at enjoying this if I listened to one song instead of 9. Got worse the longer it went
Better than expected given that it’s live, but 1 hour 46 minutes was more than I needed
I listened to the 5 songs I didn't know all day to see if this was a 4 star or 5 star. I think they were pleasant enough
Hmmm I love prog but this is bad prog
Did well for me and Maggie on our drive to Elmhurst
bored
Expectations were on the floor after "music for airports"
Fun
no thanks
I feel the Illinoise
Very nice but also very forgettable. Not sure how to rate that
annoying
a lot of hits
I tried multiple times. forgettable
not enough jig
Pleasant but got more boring as it went on
Yeah, this is bad
The The has some good stuff out there but this album is not it edit after listen #2: Heartland is actually kind of good
Something about this makes it particularly unlistenable for me
There's no album I'd rather play Wii golf to
PYT is creepy as fuck
Frank Zappa instrumentals >>>> the alternative
this is NOT Saturday morning music
This is bad bad
No way the same guy sings this and "Abattoir Blues" Update: I sampled all of Nick Cave's albums and it's fascinating how he gradually transitions from this vibe to chill and good
I was excited for this and then bored
I don't think I liked it but this is the experience I'm here for
impressive in quantity
hmmm
John!
It’s fun that this was generated today for everyone, but the actually good Christmas album I discovered this season is Ho! Ho! Hoey! by Gary Hoey
Enjoyed
2025 edit: 5 stars
exceeded expectations
Nice to do the Sunday crossword to
2 Bob Dylan albums in 3 days is unfortunate
It's no Foxtrot but I enjoyed it 2025 edit: this deserves 5 stars after all
I listened 3 times and it was pleasant but didn't stick
Forgettable, but 3 stars for good moments and exceeding expectations
This album + Dermadry = bad morning
You can tell exactly what this album sounds like by its cover
Thank you Maggie for powering through this better than I could
Wtf was Mother
Annoying
Let's NOT hear it for Frankie
Money for Nothing was tough to listen to. The rest was fine
Very fun if you're in the right mood but you need to be in the right mood
What a terrible 365th album
I was just recently feeling thankful to have gone so long without an Elvis Costello album, but now I got two in a week :(
Wish I liked it more
Nice
Nice
I was excited for this because I learned to like Only Skin by listening on repeat. But it was so annoying
Anti-war country music was a pleasant surprise
Feels like something forgettable I would’ve downloaded on Apple’s free music Tuesday in high school
Annoying but not as annoying as last week's Tom Waits album
I like a lot of The Cure's stuff but not on this album
A rare DNF
Too long this took my whole morning
I had low expectations for this but actually enjoyed it
Angsty album for an angsty evening
Nice. Revisit in the future, especially if it makes its way onto Spotify
💰
Shockingly annoying
They sure are raging
This made the Fresh Start May playlist but not for my sake
Wingspan brought me back to the generator today! Didn’t vibe with this one though
Sure
It’s kind of cool that one of these guys later played in Spiritualized, but he wasn’t good yet in 1989
I appreciated that this was different but I had to apologize to Emma for having it on in the car
Mostly boring but I liked the song Rattlesnakes
Kind of interesting kind of annoying
This wasn't good but I laughed at one point so that's something
I actually enjoyed yesterday’s Morrissey album and today I get OKC which is up there for my favorite album ever. I must be insufferable
RIP Arthur
very 90s
Brings me back to freshman year
Nice background during this morning’s abysmal chess performance
Nice background during this morning’s abysmal chess performance
I was wondering why I liked this album more than everyone else on this website, then did further research and realized it’s because I’m a lesbian
Is anyone else dizzy from this or is it just me
I found this so annoying
Really boring
For my 500th album: my first DNF in a very very long time
surprisingly enjoyable
1 stars are back
1 stars are so back
Forgettable
Didn't like it but +1 for a long song
I don't get the appeal of punk
I didn't know most songs going in but all were enjoyable
Very nice to listen to while rereading Birman-Craggs
Two "rock, indie, shoegaze" albums in a row this weekend and I could even go for a third
Made sense as background to Retro Bowl
This was pleasant
I listened to this on YouTube, and whenever a new song came on it was so jarring I thought an ad had interrupted the album
Worse than expected
Life is too short. DNF
I'm bored
on a streak of boring albums
I actually tried hard on this one but it was forgettable
I would guess that critics agree Songs for the Deaf is a better album, but this was easier listening
Babylon is nice but I don’t think there is anything new to find here
Great background while scrolling Breaking Bad Reddit
This was pleasant. I'd listen again if it ever makes it to Spotify
This was fun to set up my new laptop to
I don't have time for this
Dreams is nice
I didn't necessarily enjoy it but it wasn't boring in the way I expected
This was annoying
GOAT
1 hour 49 min of Dexys and none of it is Come on Eileen. Didn’t expect that
One of the more enjoyable hip hop albums I've gotten
She has a really nice voice and I wish more albums had covers in the middle
Björk!
was my geoguessr soundtrack
"beautiful harmonies, would be surprised if Yes did not love this record" -u/Muzak_For_A_Nurse. This quote had me putting effort into this album 4 years ago, but I didn't recognize it as a 5 star until today. No skips
Straight men!
Another discovery from u/Muzak_For_A_Nurse
This morning I was debating whether America and Mrs Robinson alone could push this to 4 stars, but then the other songs hit too. 5
I know what "vibrato" means now, so I guess I learned something from this
all hope is indeed gone
I haven't added anything to my liked songs, but most songs (especially towards the end) sounded good on the first listen and that's impressive
It was a fun surprise that this was Steely Dan
I gave Led Zeppelin IV 5 stars because recognized most songs as hits, and by that logic TS also deserves a 5
Way way way too long. so much talking
nice and forgettable at the same time
I think this is the third time in recent times I've heard a song and been embarrassed to learn Eminem just sampled it and didn't actually write it
This was nice. I think there's a lot to discover here so I should listen again one time
Annoying
I have better things to do than listen to two Slipknot albums in one month
DNF
This was actually nice
Started out bad and then improved
Pleasant
I really planned on giving this a 4 but then the second half was really hitting. Sorry
Exceeded expectations?
I'm not sure this is really a 4 star album but it was perfect background for my paper editing session. It's rare I enjoy an electronica album
Much better than Music for Airports
This is nice
I'm happy I read the comments ahead of time so I knew to focus on the drums
Bad
It would be cool if I liked Sonic Youth, but I don't
I clocked 1963 and live album as two red flags and I was very wrong
Easier to understand than “Live 2025 (The Morris Performing Arts Center Concert)”
Great band name
Shout out JP and Charlie
Generated this one right as I landed at Berlin airport
went into this with a terrible attitude and then actually enjoyed it
I listened to this this morning and I have since entirely forgotten it
Non capisco tutto questo entusiasmo
Non mi è piaciuto questo album e due ore sono davvero troppe. DNF
Ma piace davvero a qualcuno?
It alternated between sounding like church music and like something more annoying than church music
Nice music for my plane ride
Happy bird watching August!!!!
Nice music for my plane ride
Not as bad as Roots but not good
I think this was nice? Maybe revisit if it ever makes it to Spotify
Not good
Exceeded expectations on my drive to CVS
Didn't enjoy this and since he's canceled I don't have motivation to put the effort in
Rating this 4 stars because I kind of enjoyed it despite not adding anything to my liked songs, and this will make me more likely to revisit one day. Also it is rated low on here and needs the help
I had an 8 hour delay at O'Hare and that wasn't enough time to finish this album
Other than Atlantic City, I find these songs very boring
I feel like I'm in Desert Hills
Thanks to all the other comments for informing me that Eric Clapton sucks as a person
I understand why others here don’t like it but I’m biased because I grew up with this CD in the car
This was nice
Nice background as I read The Bean Trees
