Popular Reviews

Next by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band

I went into this album expecting to hate it after reading the reviews. After listening to the first few songs I realized I must have a problem. This album is so much better then I thought it was going to be! Music was good with the goofiest vocals on top of them. Although not incredible, it is an underrated gem.

A Hard Day's Night by Beatles

The perfect early Beatles album. Has a ton of classics and some hidden gems too. The harmonies on this one are unmatched and the instrumental is improved from "With The Beatles" (although even that was good). This album is pretty significant for The Beatles because it is the first one to feature only songs written by them. The lyrics are an improvement from previous albums but don't compare to later ones. Still, it's an album I like to listen all the time. Also the cover is great! Favorite songs: A Hard Day's Night, I Should Have Known Better, If I Fell, And I Love Her, Tell Me Why, Can't Buy Me Love, Any Time At All, You Can't Do That, I'll Be Back

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac

Dear users of the 1001 album generator, Stop over rating this album. It's good, but not the best album of all time, not even close. "Chains" and "I Don't Want To Know" are great songs, but the rest are just fine. There are other albums on this list that are just better and more consistent. Sincerely, #1 Abbey Road Enjoyer.

Sweet Baby James by James Taylor

This album is literally the old people tamer. Play it to anyone over the age of 50 and they will instantly be calmer. If it worked on my parents, it'll work on yours!

British Steel by Judas Priest

It's kind of edgy but also some of the lyrics are pretty stupid. Guitar is pretty fire though. Although it's good, Black Sabbath is way better.

Illmatic by Nas
Apr 26 2024

I went in not expecting much but god damn this is a good album. Literally all bangers.

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Apr 27 2024

Pretty good album although some of the songs are too edgy for my taste. Although this is a 4, it is close to being a 5 but just misses the mark. This is because there are a few songs I would skip on next hearing. Overall, great stuff and a great introduction to Linkin Park

Eagles by Eagles
Apr 28 2024

First two songs were its best and the rest was just good, nothing special. It was enjoyable, but I'm disappointed by the lack of eagles.

Moondance by Van Morrison
Apr 29 2024

Moondance is one of my mom's favorite albums so I was excited to listen to it. The titular song is definitely the best in the album, but other songs like "Into the Mystic" and "Caravan" were great too. I also did not know "Crazy Love" originated in this album, which was cool. The rest of the album was a little more forgettable but due to the strong first half I'll give it a 4/5

Lust For Life by Iggy Pop
Apr 30 2024

Creepiest album cover of all time. Overall album was fine except for "Turn Blue" which was exceptionally awful.

British Steel by Judas Priest
May 01 2024

It's kind of edgy but also some of the lyrics are pretty stupid. Guitar is pretty fire though. Although it's good, Black Sabbath is way better.

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
May 03 2024

Not my thing.

Fulfillingness' First Finale by Stevie Wonder
May 04 2024

I always love to find underrated gems and this is one of them. Although Stevie Wonder is incredibly popular, I've never heard of this album before. The opening song, "Smile Please", is a great chill start. The rest of the album doesn't slack either with songs like "Creepin'", "You Haven't Done Nothin'", "Bird of Beauty", and "Boogie on Reggae Woman". The ending track, "Please Don't Go" is a great finale that lets the album go out with a bang. From the vocals, to the instrumentals, and the harmonica solos in practically every song, this album is amazing. Easy 5/5

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
May 05 2024

This album is difficult for me to rate. The instrumentals are all really good but the vocals are just not for me. I want to give it a 4 but no songs really stuck out to me as something I would listen to again. Unfortunately, this is a 3/5 for me.

May 06 2024

This album intrigued me prior to listening as I've never listened to a Johnny Cash album. I immediately noticed that this album is mostly composed of covers as I saw my favorite song ever made, "In My Life". As I started too listen to the album I figured Johnny Cash's voice would annoy me, but it actually grew on me. Listening to the first few songs, I really enjoyed the calm nature of the songs. I finally got to, "In My Life" and really liked it. I liked how they shaped the song to fit Cash's style including the change to George Martin's piano solo. This goes for the rest of album as all songs are adapted well. Really solid, 4/5

Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben Jor
May 07 2024

Funk + Rock + Portuguese lyrics = A surprisingly great album! 4/5. Did not expect something like this to be on the list, but I'm glad it is.

The Gilded Palace Of Sin by The Flying Burrito Brothers
May 08 2024

If The Beatles, "Baby's In Black" was a whole album. Everything is played and performed well, just is very slow. Overall, mid album.

May 09 2024

I'm just saying, there is an album that released a month after this that is better in every way which didn't make it on the list. WHERE IS WEEZER!! This album was mid and the beat drops were not satisfying. Got to give it a 2/5

Arular by M.I.A.
May 10 2024

I cannot stand the beats in background. It feels like I'm listening to a bunch of electricity. If I wanted to listen to this album, I may as well go to the local science center and put my ear next to the electric ball. Vocals are not for me either. For me, this album has 0 redeeming qualities. My first 1/5

Murmur by R.E.M.
May 11 2024

It's been a while since I got a really good album. Although I've never heard of the album before, it pleasantly surprised me. The instruments and vocals make songs that are creative and come together nice. The drums are especially good. The only song that wasn't great was, "We Walk" but otherwise definitely a good album to hear. Glad I got to listen to this album, 4/5

Go Girl Crazy by The Dictators
May 12 2024

Great album, definitely an underrated classic.

Highway to Hell by AC/DC
May 13 2024

This album is basically the definition of rock. It's great and all the songs work. The only issue is that it is missing something. There's nothing that makes it stand out compared to other rock albums. Even with that, this is an essential album.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
May 14 2024

This album is solid. First half is really good and although the second half is weaker, it still has some great tracks. Would recommend and would probably listen to again.

Hot Fuss by The Killers
May 17 2024

It's okay, but just not for me.

May 18 2024

I don't know why I never listened to this album before, but thank god I have now. All the songs have amazing guitars and drum performances. "Gimme Three Steps" is a groovy song that mixes its goofy premise seamlessly. "Free Bird" is the standout song from this album and it is iconic. That ending guitar solo is the perfect 4 minutes to end the album. If you've never listened to this, you definitely should (5/5)

Queen Of Denmark by John Grant
May 19 2024

Really interesting album with experimental music. The highlights were "Tc and Honey bear", "Chicken Bones", and "Queen of Denmark". Wasn't sure if I'd like this album, but glad I did.

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
May 21 2024

Extremely creative and I like how the songs seem to flow together.

New Boots And Panties by Ian Dury
May 22 2024

Why are all the lyrics in this album so sus. Other than that, all the instruments are played really well and can't fault it. Still a 3/5 for just how weird these lyrics are.

Innervisions by Stevie Wonder
May 24 2024

30 albums in and I finally got an album I not only know, but love. This album is Stevie Wonder in his prime and you can tell. The first two songs in the album are a little slow but are still enjoyable. These songs show that this album is going to be using synths more then the average Stevie Wonder album. It starts picking up with "Living in the City" which is a great song that highlights the inequality seen in cities like New York. "Golden lady" is a great follow up to the last song which is much more positive in contrast. "Higher Ground" is the next song and maybe the most popular from the album. The backing of this song is iconic and everything about it shows how great this album is. Although I usually don't like over preaching songs, "Jesus Children of America" is undeniably great. "All in Love is Fair" is an easy Stevie Wonder classic. "Don't You Worry Bout' A Thing" is just perfection. The opening shows Stevie Wonder with just the most insane rizz. It then slowly builds into this amazing chorus showcasing Stevie's incredible voice. I love how it implements a new section near the end and mixes it with the chorus, just amazing. I listen to this song to de-stress as it just reminds me that everything in life is going to be alright. One of my favourite songs of all time. "He's Misstra Know-it-All" is a great ender to the album having a great piano backing. Overall if you like music in general, this album is essential for you to listen to. TLDR: I thought it was good and you should listen to it.

The Yes Album by Yes
May 25 2024

Great album with the best musicians. All instruments are played to perfection. Only issue is that the songs aren't as memorable for me.

I Am a Bird Now by Antony and the Johnsons
May 26 2024

Very weird and not in a good way. Some of it is ok, but the rest is just not for me.

New Forms by Roni Size
May 27 2024

The backing is great. Other than that it is pretty standard for now, but considering the time it could have been cool. Sadly, it doesn't compare to modern music of the same sort.

May 28 2024

I really liked today's album. Went in not expecting the best but the moment I heard the first song, I knew it was going to be good. All the songs are so lively and make you want to dance. Only issue is it is too long (I know it's the extended version on Spotify but the original is still an hour long). Definitely worth a listen, 4/5

Blackstar by David Bowie
May 29 2024

This album is David Bowie's last set of songs. I really wanted to like it, but unfortunately I didn't. The songs were just not for me with the exception of "Dollar Days" and "I Can't Give Everything Away" which I thought were pretty good. The mix of really good and bad make this a 3/5 in my eyes.

Snivilisation by Orbital
May 30 2024

The second song reminded me of a book I read as a kid called "I Wish that I had Duck Feet". This book traumatized me cause they threw the kid in a zoo at the end. Like why would they do that, he's a little boy, don't lock him in zoo jail!! Also this album was fine.

Youth And Young Manhood by Kings of Leon
May 31 2024

Album cover looks like four moist criticals pretending to be Queen. Good album though!

Jun 01 2024

James Brown is iconic so I was excited to get this album. The intro hyped me up so much as they announced the legend onto the stage. Then it starts to go and it doesn't stop until the last second of the last song. This album is so lively and makes you feel like you're there at the concert. I didn't expect to give this a 5 because it was a live album, but it definitely deserves one.

Green Onions by Booker T. & The MG's
Jun 03 2024

Although it is an important record for music history I just don't get it. It sounds like it was played at a baseball game and it was not for me. "Green Onions" the song was ok but nothing crazy. "Twist and Shout" was interesting as an instrumental but I much prefer The Beatles version. Overall it was just fine.

Jun 04 2024

I really like how some of the songs are connected through the theme of a classroom. Overall, album is really solid. Every song is really well made and transitions well between each other. Only problem is it is a little long.

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Jun 05 2024

I can see how this band inspired Lynyrd Skynyrd! The instruments are played really well and the solos rock. Issue is some of the songs are too long

Goodbye And Hello by Tim Buckley
Jun 06 2024

I feel like I should like this album. It is very interesting as a lot is going on in each song. I can't stand the singing though. I want to give this a 3 so badly but I also can't stand listening to his voice do it's a 2.

Joan Baez by Joan Baez
Jun 07 2024

Damn this is old. I've listened to older albums on here like "Birth of Cool" but this just feels so ancient. It's just her and the guitar which is an admirable feat but, it sucks. The guitar is fine but her singing is not for me at all. The fact that nothing else is going on other than the guitar and vocals makes it a very skippable album.

Funeral by Arcade Fire
Jun 08 2024

For me this album is nothing special. It's trying to be original, which I appreciate, but it still somehow sounds basic. I can't explain why but it is just very middle of the road.

Wild Wood by Paul Weller
Jun 09 2024

Just an album to chill to good music and comforting vocals.

Hard Again by Muddy Waters
Jun 10 2024

This album defined the blues. It is really good but a little repetitive by the end.

Jun 11 2024

This album is working on all levels. Every instrument is played to perfection and just sounds amazing. It is on the shorter side but makes up for it with some amazing music.

Little Earthquakes by Tori Amos
Jun 13 2024

Conclusion is that this album has a better song called "Mother" than Synchronicity does.

At Budokan by Cheap Trick
Jun 14 2024

Not for me as I find it too outdated and cringey. Like when the hook of the last song is just the clock sound, you can see why this album is cheesy as all hell. Results in it feeling mid.

Jun 15 2024

This album is pretty interesting as some of it is amazing while other parts are just ok. I think I'm more of a fan of Dr. Dre's style as his parts of songs tend to be much more interesting. The other songs sound a little primitive by today's standard. I do like the attitude of this album as you can tell they don't care what anyone thinks about them. Overall I admire the album but it's just not a five for me as it isn't as consistent or good as albums like Illmatic.

Locust Abortion Technician by Butthole Surfers
Jun 16 2024

I'm having nightmares tonight, THANKS!!! This album is literally just a shitpost.

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Jun 17 2024

I'm not a huge fan of country music. That probably explains why I don't like this album. I can understand why people think it's good, but personally I don't get it.

Made In Japan by Deep Purple
Jun 18 2024

Hey, isn't that the song from Better Call Saul but LIVE!! Overall I thought the songs were good but would have preferred to not listen to it live as it has too many long unnecessary solos.

Frampton Comes Alive by Peter Frampton
Jun 19 2024

A live album without any filler, that's crazy! Really good stuff and had some great songs. My favorite was, "Baby, I Love Your Way". One of the best live albums 4/5.

Jun 20 2024

If "The Rockefeller Skank" wasn't on here, it would be a 1. This album is practically unlistenable as it is annoying. That one song is good but that's it, everything else is god awful.

Parklife by Blur
Jun 21 2024

This cover is all I needed to know that this was a 5 star album. Helped that the songs were also really good. Literally all of them are good and some are just amazing. My favorites are "Girls and Boys", "Parklife", "To the End", and "Badhead".

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jun 22 2024

Legendary album that defines what reggae is about. If you listen to any individual part of any of these songs, it will be perfect. Truly a 5 star album.

The Slider by T. Rex
Jun 23 2024

First song is really great although the rest is just good.

Fred Neil by Fred Neil
Jun 24 2024

Other than the disturbing album cover this is a pretty okay record. Its main issue is that a lot of it sounds the same, allowing the songs to blend together in your memory. It's worth a listen but probably wouldn't go back to this one.

The Atomic Mr Basie by Count Basie & His Orchestra
Jun 25 2024

I didn't know music could sound this good. Each song introduces amazing hooks and endings that perfectly conclude the song. This album blew my expectations away becoming an easy 5/5 for me.

After The Gold Rush by Neil Young
Jun 26 2024

I've heard of Neil Young before but never listened one of his albums. This one is actually pretty great. The use of acoustic and electric guitar is nice and his vocals are great. For me, there are some duds keeping it away from a 5/5.

Oar by Alexander 'Skip' Spence
Jun 27 2024

Unless you're trying to go to sleep, this album isn't worth it. That is with two exceptions which use electric guitar as that's just going to wake you up. 3/5

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Jun 28 2024

This is my second Neil Young album I've gotten and also happens to be his second album. Not as good as "After the Gold Rush" but still a great album. Some songs on it do go on a bit too long. It's nothing crazy, but still a solid album.

Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce Springsteen
Jun 29 2024

The band behind this album is just amazing. In every song the instruments are played expertly. The issue for me is Springsteen's voice. Although I got used to it, his voice can be really hard to understand. Pretty good album though and makes sense as part of this list.

Caetano Veloso by Caetano Veloso
Jun 30 2024

Wow! This is kind of bad. Listening to this album just feels underwhelming despite me having no expectations for it.

Behaviour by Pet Shop Boys
Jul 01 2024

I love the use of synths in this album. Really gives it a unique identity making it weird but interesting to listen to. Definitely need to take a closer listen to as there is so much going on. Another point to highlight was the introspective nature of the album having a lot of lyrics which I could relate to.

The Score by Fugees
Jul 02 2024

Really great and creative album. Just like "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill", I like how the songs are interconnected. The blending of all these different genres also help this album have a unique and memorable personality. Definitely one I need to listen to regularly to really appreciate it due to all the detail. Some songs do miss the mark though so it isn't a 5/5 but still great.

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Jul 03 2024

Most people's first Radiohead album is not this one but for me it is. I thought it was good but just didn't really do anything that crazy. I've never heard of this album before today and I get why. It uses synths a lot, which can be ok, but in this instance was annoying. I'm hoping the other Radiohead albums sound better than this one.

Hypocrisy Is The Greatest Luxury by The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy
Jul 04 2024

All of the songs themselves are really good. They have a great beat and usually a great baseline. The issue is the messages in the song are told to you very point blank. Also the guy's voice sounds goofy. Still, a very deep album with an approachable beat.

Porcupine by Echo And The Bunnymen
Jul 05 2024

It's alright but nothing special. Sounds too 80's for me.

Chirping Crickets by Buddy Holly & The Crickets
Jul 06 2024

While listening to this album, I can see the influence on The Beatles. The harmonies especially are reminiscent of an early Beatles album. The songs are pretty good but compared to rock and roll as we know it now, it is rather simplistic. Cool to hear Buddy Holly's music after listening to the song, "Buddy Holly" all the time.

Black Monk Time by The Monks
Jul 07 2024

This album started so strong but then ended do badly. Between "I can't get over you" and "cuckoo", I was done. What the hell happened? It feels like they didn't even try for the end. Still, the beginning was good and had potential.

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson
Jul 08 2024

I had no expectations for this album but it is now one of my favorite albums I've discovered though this project. Every song is a banger. I tend to not rate albums 5 stars as I leave it for perfect/close to perfect albums. This album is 100% perfect. Favorite songs: "Gotta Get Up", "Down", "Without You", "Coconut"

The Slim Shady LP by Eminem
Jul 09 2024

The debut of the rap god! The personality of this album is great. Just like NWA, Eminem does not give a shit about saying PG lyrics. I mean one of the songs is about some guy getting rid of his ex-wife's body. It is truly unhinged and stands out among rap albums. The songs themselves are also really catchy despite being dark.

Teenage Head by Flamin' Groovies
Jul 10 2024

It's almost like this album is boring or something. OH WAIT, IT IS ANOTHER BORING 70's ALBUM! This album is so uninteresting and has no identity of its own.

Shalimar by Rahul Dev Burman
Jul 11 2024

Shalimar is an interesting album as it is actually the soundtrack for a movie of the same name. It makes me wonder why can't other movie soundtracks like "Star Wars A New Hope" or "The Lion King" be on this list. Anyway this sounds like granny music. Some of it is really good and interesting while as other parts straight up suck. Weird album but balances to be a 2.

Vauxhall And I by Morrissey
Jul 12 2024

I listened to Meat is Murder a while back and thought it was fine. Going into this album I was certain I wasn't going to like it but I was wrong. I ended up really enjoying it. A main problem is mine for Meat is Murder was Morrissey's singing but in this album it clicked for me. Not only that but the musicians were also really good. All in all, I'm shocked that this album was as good as it was. A 4/5 for me. He does seem like an ass though.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Jul 13 2024

I liked that this album used a mix of instruments led by piano. It added depth to a lot of the record. The songs were sung great and had lyrics with a ton of substance. There is some Latin influence in this album which also works great. Favorite songs: Sleep To Dream, Criminal, The First Taste

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Jul 14 2024

I love this album so much. I started listening to Zeppelin around September of 2023 and started with this album. Now I listen to these songs on a daily basis and can't get enough. How the hell was this whole album recorded in 36 hours! Maybe it's because each member of the band are the best at what they do. Jimmy Page is an amazing guitarist and his solos are legendary. JPJ adds great basslines that always are amazing. Plant's vocals are perfect. For me the star is John Bonham with his top of the class drumming. This is showcased in "Dazed and Confused" where he is killing it. These are 4 of the best musicians of all time and this album is a showcase of their genius. Favourite songs: Good Times Bad Times, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, Dazed and Confused, Communication Breakdown, I Can't Quit You Baby Dazed and confused btw is one of my favourite songs of all time.

Jul 15 2024

I was excited to get this album as I already like Hey Ya and The Way You Move. This album is interesting as it is basically two in one so I'll review each one separately. Speakerboxxx is the first album and it's great. This is the Big Boi side and it's style is more traditional Outkast. The balance of Big Boi's deep voice while rapping with the great backing and usually higher voice of the chorus work really well together. Every song is pretty good and all work together. Favorite songs: Bowtie, The Way You Move, Church, Knowing, Flip Flop Rock Now for Andre 3000's side, The Love Below. Immediately you notice the difference from the first half. Every song is different taking from a bunch of genres creating a cool eclectic listening experience. It especially works considering Speakerboxxx tends to not switch it up like this half does in terms of musical styles. I mean there's an instrumental version of My Favourite Things which is crazy. Lyrically it is also impressive showing the different views of love both positive and negative. Favorite songs: Love Hater, Happy Valentine's Day, Prototype, She Lives In My Lap, Hey Ya, Roses, Dracula's Wedding, My Favorite Things, Take Off Your Cool Overall these albums are amazing musically and lyrically. Combined it is a legendary listening experience which is easily a 5/5.

Songs In The Key Of Life by Stevie Wonder
Jul 16 2024

This is one of the best albums ever made. So many of Stevie Wonder's hits are on this album alongside some of his most lyrically and musically complex and brilliant songs. So many lyrics of this album like the ones for Pastime Paradise are so amazing and make an important statement. I'd like to highlight the song "As" because it is my favorite from this album. The build-up is incredible and the theme of love is so well presented. This is Stevie Wonder's magnum opus and peak album. It is one of the best albums of all time without a question. Favorite songs: Sir Duke, I Wish, Knocks Me Off My Feet, Pastime Paradise, Summer Soft, Ordinary Pain, Isn't She Lovely, As, Another Star

Moby Grape by Moby Grape
Jul 18 2024

Indifference is how I would describe this album.

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Jul 19 2024

I was so excited to get this as it is actually my favorite album by my favorite band. This is my pick for the best Beatles album as it just is so consistent and the vibes are amazing. Drive My Car is a great intro but the album goes to the next level with Norwegian Wood. The use of the sitar adds an amazing sound giving this song a mystical aura. John, Paul, and George all have amazing outings showing them in the prime. Even Ringo's one song is pretty good (Sad Ringo 😢). Out of all of these songs "In My Life" is my favorite. It is a beautiful retrospective of life that ends with focusing on the present and the person who gives your life meaning. It has a melancholic tone which gives it way more depth and a perfect representation of all of life. It's why this song is my favorite of all time. Favorite songs: All of them Rubber Soul is a personal album for me and whenever I feel down I put it on. Listening to it one more time, I appreciate it even more.

Jul 20 2024

It's hard to seperate the artist from art and this album is a great example. This is a great album made by a crazy person. It is extremely original with the first song being an incredible opener. Each successive song keeps the pace up and are all really great. I can't rate it higher than a 4 though because I don't agree with many things Ye has said and done.

Electric by The Cult
Jul 21 2024

Judging by the cover I didn't think I was going to like this as I thought it was going to be emo. Turns out it was a great hard rock album!

Rings Around The World by Super Furry Animals
Jul 22 2024

I hadn't heard of this album and judging by the first song, I didn't think I would like it. Turns out all the other songs are incredible and it's just that first song I don't like. In fact, the rest of this album is so good! It all works together making an album which sounds unique and works together. Favorite songs: Sidewalk Serfer Girl, It's Not The End Of The World, Shoot Doris Day, No Sympathy, Juxtaposed With U, Presidential Suite, Fragile Happiness

Live At The Star Club, Hamburg by Jerry Lee Lewis
Jul 23 2024

The piano in all these songs are amazing but the songs themselves are nothing special. The ones I liked tended to be covers (although most of the songs are covers).

Let's Stay Together by Al Green
Jul 25 2024

For me this album was forgettable. Nothing stood out as being interesting and the album sounded like things I've heard before. Not a bad album but a mediocre one.

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Jul 26 2024

There's no album that sounds like this one. Each song flows together and connects together creating an entire narrative. The guitar on this is also really good. The issue is some songs individually aren't very strong. It also sounds pretty dated in areas. Really good album but not all of it is for me.

Led Zeppelin III by Led Zeppelin
Jul 27 2024

The underrated champ! This is where the band transformed from amazing rock band to amazing at every genre. Half of this album is experimental rock songs and the other half is experimental folk. The combination is amazing and although I prefer the first half both are really well done. The opening is iconic being Immigrant Song which is one of the bands most popular. For me the albums peak is at Since I've Been Loving You. It's perfect from it's infectious guitar rift to Bonham's legendary drumming and maybe Robert Plant's best vocal performance. The ending of the album is one of the most hated Zeppelin songs and I understand why. Personally it's fine and doesn't ruin the album but does leave a bad last impression. Although it isn't everyone's cup of tea, this album is still amazing and a great stepping stone to get to Zeppelin's best album. Favorite songs: Immigrant Song, Friends, Since I've Been Loving You, Out On The Tiles, Gallows Pole, Tangerine

Back to Basics by Christina Aguilera
Jul 28 2024

Although not for me, I do get the album. It sounds pretty good and she is a very talented singer. The issue is that this album is so long!

Station To Station by David Bowie
Jul 29 2024

I've never heard of this Bowie album before but it's great. Despite only being 6 songs, all of them are expertly made and memorable. Maybe not the best of Bowie's catalogue but is nothing to ignore. Instrumentally it is extremely good and I really like it. Great addition to this list and an album I need to listen to multiple more times to fully appreciate.

Off The Wall by Michael Jackson
Jul 30 2024

I didn't know the guy who did the Sonic The Hedgehog 3 OST had solo albums!?

Tank Battles by Dagmar Krause
Jul 31 2024

I'm nauseous after listening to that shmaltzy shit.

Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth
Aug 01 2024

It's alright and has some good moments but overall it isn't for me.

School's Out by Alice Cooper
Aug 02 2024

While the songs on the album are great the guitar is the stand out. The solos are legendary and it sounds so good the whole way though. Favorite songs: School's Out, Luney Tune, My Stars, Public Animal #9, Alma Mater.

Young Americans by David Bowie
Aug 03 2024

A soul album from Bowie, that's crazy! On top of that who would have thought it would work this well. Most songs have a choir in the back and use much more brass instruments. All of the songs work pretty well together with the exception of "Across the Universe". It ignores the soul theme of the album and isn't as good as the rest of the songs. It also doesn't help that the original version is much better and one of my favorites from "Let It Be". This album is still great overall and it's nice to see this much variety in Bowie's catalogue. Favorite songs: Young Americans, Fame, Who Can I Be Now?

Remain In Light by Talking Heads
Aug 07 2024

This album sounds like the 80s. Don't love the random talking in the middle of songs.

Berlin by Lou Reed
Aug 08 2024

Love the instrumental but some of the songs are just not my style. Pretty mixed bag

Bummed by Happy Mondays
Aug 09 2024

The guitar and especially the bass in this album is great and definitely the highlight! Everything else is not quite as good but still quality. Definitely an 80s feel with this album and it works well. Enjoyed and would listen to again.

Fragile by Yes
Aug 10 2024

I wanted to listen to this album for a while after getting the Yes Album and it didn't disappoint. Everything in Fragile is so good and even better than the previous album. It feels like they got it down with amazing guitar solos, great drums, and well crafted songs. I also like after most major songs they have instrumental interludes which add to the overall experience of listening to the album. Really just Yes at their peak! Favorite songs: Roundabout, South Side of the Sky, Long Distance Runaround, Heart of the Sunrise, America

Duck Stab/Buster & Glen by The Residents
Aug 11 2024

This is just disturbing. At times it feels like it could be building to something good but it always gets pulled back to just sounding gross. Listening to this album feels like watching movies like The Dark Crystal or The Neverending Story as a kid. Your just creeped out and want it to end immediately.

Different Class by Pulp
Aug 12 2024

Wow, this guy is really down bad! Some of the songs are pretty good but other ones are just a lot of whispering. Sometimes it's too serious and it's not great at that. A real mixed bag. Favorite songs: Mis-Shapes, Underwear

Moon Safari by Air
Aug 13 2024

The instrumental tracks for this album are really good but the rest is not for me. I don't like the robot voices that much and the lyrics were whatever. Sexy Boy was a song I really didn't like and felt like a dropoff from the strong opener. It was a good album to listen to and worth being on this list, but I wouldn't revisit it.

Picture Book by Simply Red
Aug 14 2024

More like simply mid

Aqualung by Jethro Tull
Aug 15 2024

That flute goes crazy!

Songs For Swingin' Lovers! by Frank Sinatra
Aug 16 2024

Sinatra is easily one of the best singers in the world. The orchestra is also really good and enhances his singing. The album is pretty good overall but the songs do sound similar after a while.

Pretenders by Pretenders
Aug 18 2024

I prefer when the other person sings Smelly Cat

Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears
Aug 19 2024

Very 80s and in this case it's not for me. I find it doesn't age very well. Some songs like Shout are annoying but, others like Everybody Rules The World are great. Worth a listen but not going back to often.

A Hard Day's Night by Beatles
Aug 20 2024

A Northern Soul by The Verve
Aug 21 2024

Instrumentals are excellent but I feel the singing is give or take. Songs are not so memorable for me but sound good in the moment.

Zombie by Fela Kuti
Aug 23 2024

An incredible album with some of the best, most addictive instrumentals and lyrics that are so strong considering they are standing up to the Nigerian government. Definitely an album everyone needs to hear.

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Aug 24 2024

The contrast from the first and second song is crazy. The first one is a 10 minute guitar solo where the guitarist is shredding while the second one is a pretty normal song. This through me for a loop especially because most of the album afterwards is normal funk. Then the last song is weird as hell (some guy farts on the microphone!). This album is both pretty decent and absolutely sucks so I'll just give it a 3 and stop thinking about.

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
Aug 25 2024

I'm not emo enough to truly appreciate this album but I can appreciate that guitar!

Van Halen by Van Halen
Aug 27 2024

Some of the best guitar shredding I've ever heard. Their later songs may be cheesy and dated (specifically Jump) but this album still sounds amazing even now. Didn't think I was going to like it, but ended up loving it. Only issue is the album definitely peaked with its first half

The Hissing Of Summer Lawns by Joni Mitchell
Aug 28 2024

The first song was good but the rest was pretty mediocre. The Jungle Line was exceptionally bad though and is hard to listen to. Everything else is really boring with garbage lyrics (although the bad lyrics go for the first song too). I was optimistic going in, but it's definitely not worthy to be on this list.

Songs The Lord Taught Us by The Cramps
Aug 29 2024

A little goofy but the instrumentals are pretty good. Basically if the monster mash was a whole album with better backing instrumentals.

Pump by Aerosmith
Aug 30 2024

Maybe but Aerosmith's most popular albums but still one I really enjoyed. I'm not too familiar with the band and this left a great impression.

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Aug 31 2024

I get that this was really popular and all but it sounds old and a little boring now. Still sounds good but didn't do anything else for me.

Reggatta De Blanc by The Police
Sep 01 2024

THE GOATS!! Copeland's drumming style is so unique and he is the master of the hi-hat. Summers is a great guitar player who can steal the show or be an amazing addition to the background. Sting is a great singer who can also play the bass like nobody else. This album is their peak and perfects their punk and reggae style. If you've never listened to The Police it's a must. Favorite songs: ALL OF THEM!!

Elvis Is Back by Elvis Presley
Sep 02 2024

It said that he died on Wikipedia but I swear I saw him officiating a wedding in Las Vegas yesterday!

Boston by Boston
Sep 03 2024

It's very mediocre and I'M SICK OF HEARING MORE THAN A FEELING!

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix
Sep 05 2024

I've always meant to listen to Jimi Hendrix but never got around to it. I now know that was a huge mistake because this album is so good! The drumming is incredible, the bass is great, but the guitar is out of this world. Truly an experience I need to go back to.

The Grand Tour by George Jones
Sep 06 2024

For country music it's not too bad! That said it is still country music so it can't be higher than a 3

Tres Hombres by ZZ Top
Sep 07 2024

The beards make this album. Pretty much the definition of a solid rock album.

The College Dropout by Kanye West
Sep 08 2024

Like the other Kanye album, would be a 5 but he made it. On a side note, thank you Jonah Hill for making Kanye cool with Jews.

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel
Sep 09 2024

The songs on this album are really well written and sung. A lot of classics that I'm only now hearing for the first time. Glad I got to listen to it.

Kimono My House by Sparks
Sep 11 2024

How this has so many 5 star reviews I'll never know. This album is hard to listen to as it is so dated. The singing is just too cheesy and the instrumentals can't save it. I mean I could've just looked at the cover and realized it would be a 2 but I listened to it and found out the hard way.

The Band by The Band
Sep 12 2024

Although the rest of the album wasn't as good as the first few songs, still a solid listen.

McCartney by Paul McCartney
Sep 13 2024

It's the Macca's debut album and I was excited to listen to it. I'm a huge fan of The Beatles and I love ATMP by George Harrison. Although not being close to as good as the aforementioned albums it's still great. It sets your expectations low at first with tracks that are just Paul jamming out catchy tunes. Ironically, once you get to "Junk" the album gets better! Favorite songs: Junk, Man We Was Lonely, Momma Miss America, Teddy Boy, Maybe I'm Amazed. Nice to hear Paul just having fun!

Electric Prunes by The Electric Prunes
Sep 15 2024

Starts good but ends very mediocre. Still a pretty boring album at that.

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Sep 17 2024

A while ago I got an earlier Stones album and they improved like crazy. The songs have more depth and the entire album is better quality. I finally understand why people like this band.

Call of the Valley by Shivkumar Sharma
Sep 18 2024

Just vibes the whole way through. I listened to the original album on YouTube as the top comment said because the one on Spotify kind of sucks. Would highly recommend the original!

Sep 19 2024

Just like James Brown Live at the Apollo this album is infectiously happy. You can feel how excited the audience is and how much everyone is enjoying themselves. Really great album!

Definately different from their earlier albums but still great. The lyrics are clever and give insight into British history. Songs are nice and well written. Just another great Kinks album.

Sep 21 2024

Sorry U2 fans but I couldn't care less about this album!

Sep 22 2024

Did not expect the random I Am the Walrus reference in "South California Purples". This album is very good. Whether it be the keyboard or the horns, the instrumentals are top notch. Didn't expect anything but was pleasantly surprised!

Venus Luxure No. 1 Baby by Girls Against Boys
Sep 23 2024

It's fine but they seem like they need a girlfriend or something because this is depressing

Fever To Tell by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Sep 24 2024

Was starting off fine but took a bad left turn. Some songs are really good while others are really bad.

In Our Heads by Hot Chip
Sep 25 2024

It's good but lacks variety for its long length

Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips
Sep 26 2024

It reminds me of Earthbound in the best ways possible! Listening to it makes me smile and now I can't stop listening to all the songs. One of the best of this list.

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Sep 27 2024

Pretty good album but nothing special

Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5
Sep 28 2024

Strong start but ending isn't as good. Despite the name, Jurassic 5 is a 4.

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
Sep 29 2024

I used to think live albums were just worst versions of the actual thing but this list keeps showing me amazing live albums! This is another example of an artist using the live format to their advantage and it's great! Singing and instrumental are great!

Natty Dread by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Oct 01 2024

I mean it's Bob Marley, it's gotta be a 5!

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg
Oct 02 2024

Snoop is the best and if you disagree then you just can't handle the dog! Also this album is officially Martha Stewart approved.

Public Image: First Issue by Public Image Ltd.
Oct 04 2024

Religion 1 is one of the worst things I've ever heard. This album is lucky that the drums and bass are good otherwise it's a 1.

Oct 05 2024

In all honesty, I expected this album to be too weird and experimental but that ended up being why I liked it so much. It took me though a journey of rock that led me to feel every emotion. Truly one of the greatest albums ever made.

Oct 06 2024

If this came out later it wouldn't really be that impressive but since it came out in 1969 it is a little ahead of the time. That being said, the album is pretty boring and I don't care for it.

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
Oct 07 2024

It all sounds pretty good but I'm not a fan of 80s sounding music.

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
Oct 08 2024

Other than the black face on the cover pretty good album.

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Oct 10 2024

An extremely creative album and some of the band's best. Love the cover of the album too and how the mammoth is jamming with everyone else.

Exit Planet Dust by The Chemical Brothers
Oct 11 2024

Really really really really boring

The Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden
Oct 12 2024

Can't say I was surprised by what number the beast was, nor was I surprised by this album. Just pure rock!

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Oct 14 2024

Beautiful Freak by Eels

My nightmares will now consist of this thing. Thanks 1001 list.

Third by Soft Machine
Oct 17 2024

I'm tems of best albums, it's not third that's for sure

Step In The Arena by Gang Starr
Oct 18 2024

The flow in this album is great especially for early rap. Another win from the list!

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
Oct 19 2024

Such a relaxing and beautiful album. The instrumental on this one is so good and proves that it belongs on the list.

Brutal Youth by Elvis Costello
Oct 20 2024

I don't get why so many people hate this album. To be fair this is my first Elvis Costello album on the list but it's pretty good. Everything sounds great and it's better than a lot of album I've heard on this list. It's not a 5 but a solid 4.

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Oct 21 2024

You know it's five stars when I'm sad that the an hour long album is over. The perfect soul album. The singing is amazing but the instrumentals are perfection. Never heard of this album before but it is one of the best on this list.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Oct 22 2024

It's too long and has too many mediocre songs

Live! by Fela Kuti
Oct 23 2024

It's good to know Ginger takes his bath!

Odessey And Oracle by The Zombies
Oct 25 2024

It feels like they're trying to hard to be The Beatles without doing anything that good. If you want to listen to a band's crappy imitation of The Beatles be my guest

Transformer by Lou Reed
Oct 26 2024

In terms of songs it sucks. It's just a guy yapping over instrumentals that range from either good to boring.

Elastica by Elastica
Oct 27 2024

Good energy but nothing special

Solid Air by John Martyn
Oct 28 2024

A completely inoffensive album, nothing else to write about

Sunday At The Village Vanguard by Bill Evans Trio
Oct 29 2024

I appreciate the rendition of Alice in Wonderland. This album is however a little boring but I can respect it for what it is.

Smile by Brian Wilson
Oct 30 2024

So it's good but mostly weird. Not really the definitive version of the good songs and the other songs are just there.

Maverick A Strike by Finley Quaye
Oct 31 2024

This guy's singing brought down this entire album. I kept thinking that the music was good but those terrible vocals kept messing it up. To describe the vocals, it sounds like your drunk uncle singing off pace with the song.

Imagine by John Lennon
Nov 01 2024

Gotta love how George Harrison played on some songs on this album including the diss track towards Paul. This album is a little savage and shows John not holding back like he did with The Beatles. Great album but suffers from being overproduced and having some weaker songs.

Stardust by Willie Nelson
Nov 02 2024

A nice album that is pretty heartfelt. Great music to relax and reflect on.

Hysteria by Def Leppard
Nov 03 2024

One word: Cheesy

Nov 04 2024

I got sidetracked when listening to this album and ended up listening to some of the "Toy Story" soundtrack. That was way better than this shit.

Be by Common
Nov 05 2024

Other than "Testify", it's a decent album. Testify is a pretty bad song though.

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Nov 06 2024

Dear users of the 1001 album generator, Stop over rating this album. It's good, but not the best album of all time, not even close. "Chains" and "I Don't Want To Know" are great songs, but the rest are just fine. There are other albums on this list that are just better and more consistent. Sincerely, #1 Abbey Road Enjoyer.

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
Nov 07 2024

Johnny Cash is so unbelievably cool that he got invited by the prison to sing songs about how much prison sucks to a bunch of people stuck in prison.

My Generation by The Who
Nov 08 2024

Pretty good first outing from The Who. Not as good as their later stuff but still great for the time.

Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
Nov 09 2024

Way better than I thought it was going to be. I knew "Dreamer" before going in, but the rest is also great. I've listened to Breakfast in America in the past and I think I actually prefer this album. First half of it is weaker but second half delivers. Liked songs: Hide in Your Shell, Dreamer, Rudy, If Everyone was Listening

L'Eau Rouge by The Young Gods
Nov 10 2024

Sensory overload the album

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Nov 12 2024

Pretty forgettable and pretty boring. I guess the music was good though but nothing to go out of your way for.

Junkyard by The Birthday Party
Nov 13 2024

It's as the title says, a junkyard of terrible music.

Peter Gabriel by Peter Gabriel
Nov 15 2024

Solsbury Hill is definitely the highlight but the rest of the album is also pretty good.

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Nov 16 2024

Expertly crafted songs that take you on a musical journey.

Germfree Adolescents by X-Ray Spex
Nov 20 2024

Terrible singer with mediocre music behind it. It's bad so just save your time and listen to something else.

Talking Heads 77 by Talking Heads
Nov 21 2024

The second album I got in a row with bad singing and mediocre music. This album is pretty bad and I'm a little shocked by the amount of people that like it.

Music From The Penguin Cafe by Penguin Cafe Orchestra
Nov 22 2024

I like penguins but I don't like this album. It's too experimental which sometimes works but mostly fails miserably.

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Nov 23 2024

It's sounds old but it's ok I guess

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Nov 24 2024

Just a bunch of high people making some decent music. Overall was ok, but I cannot stand "Our House". It's just the epitome of a boring song.

The Modern Lovers by The Modern Lovers
Nov 25 2024

I guess the guy who made this list really likes albums with bad singers and mediocre music. This one has the added benefit of bad lyrics too! This is not an album you need to listen to before you die. I listened to it and it added no value to my life whatsoever!

1999 by Prince
Nov 26 2024

I can't get into Prince. I wish I could but his music is just to weird for me.

#1 Record by Big Star
Nov 27 2024

Best song was the one was later featured in, "That 70's Show".

Good Old Boys by Randy Newman
Nov 28 2024

This ruined the Toy Story soundtrack for me. Because of this album, I know Randy Newman is a bit of a piece of crap.

Kilimanjaro by The Teardrop Explodes
Nov 29 2024

What the typical early 80s album sounds like. It's not too bad though and is worth one listen.

3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul
Nov 30 2024

An Infectiously positive album. It's nice to get this as it feels really different from the rest of the list. The three of them work well and their approach to rap is like nobody else.

Gold by Ryan Adams
Dec 01 2024

Cheesy cover but otherwise it is just some inoffensive music that doesn't offer that much.

american dream by LCD Soundsystem
Dec 02 2024

I really can't tell if it's a 2 or a 3. The songs themselves are pretty good but sometimes the lyrics are just bad and singing is mediocre throughout. I'm going to settle on a 3 as it's something I could go back and listen to but I wouldn't go out of my way to.

This Is Fats Domino by Fats Domino
Dec 03 2024

Just a happy group of songs. I have literally nothing to complain about as it's just so good. I get how it inspired The Beatles, "Lady Madonna". A quick but memorable album. Favorite songs: Blueberry Hill, *Blue Monday, Mardi Gras in New Orleans.

Rust In Peace by Megadeth
Dec 04 2024

The music I'm listening to while rollerblading down Radical Highway.

Drunk by Thundercat
Dec 06 2024

Very weird but definitely good.

Marquee Moon by Television
Dec 07 2024

This album has cemented the idea in my head that a bad singer can completely ruin a good band. I've seen it before on this list but usually the bands behind the singer aren't this good. I can't give this anything higher than a 2, I just can't stand that singer.

Vivid by Living Colour
Dec 08 2024

The hits are great and the rest is only ok. It has an 80s sound but it works well compared to other albums I've heard.

Dec 09 2024

This album is so influential I heard almost every song before listening to this. A good share of these are covers but I was so surprised to learn Respect and (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction were made by him. Overall an essential album to this list.

The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe
Dec 10 2024

I didn't know she was a musician but this album is as good as Glass Onion (the movie).

Dec 11 2024

A really great album that just has a great sound to it. The cover is iconic and the songs are just as good.

Faust IV by Faust
Dec 12 2024

It's a pretty short album with not a ton of substance. In the album's defense, it is pretty inoffensive. I've heard much worse on the list and obviously much better. It's also funny how the song "It's A Bit of A Pain" is a bit of a pain to listen to.

It's Blitz! by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Dec 13 2024

I can't listen to the normal version of Heads will Roll now that Dance Till You're Dead exists. It just isn't the same without that dog vibing to the song. Other than that, the album is ok but nothing that interesting.

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Dec 14 2024

No surprise here, Led Zeppelin II is an easy 5 stars. Although the first album may have higher highs, Zeppelin II is much more consistent. It also consists of more original songs and less covers which is always good. As per usual, everyone in this band is extremely talented and the best in their field. John Bonham deserves a specific shoutout for the song "Moby Dick" which has maybe the best drum solo ever made. Overall this is definitely the best album for a beginner Zeppelin fan. It defines everything the band is good at perfectly. Favorite songs: All of them but especially Heartbreaker, Moby Dick, and *Ramble On.

Dirty by Sonic Youth
Dec 15 2024

It's alright but there are still too many Sonic Youth albums on here. Before this list I couldn't name you once Sonic Youth album let alone 5! As for the album, it's nothing special but still fine.

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Dec 16 2024

Much better than Green River! Feels like CCR going into more interesting directions with their songs rather than Green River which was pretty safe and boring. A definite improvement and a great album on its own.

Joan Armatrading by Joan Armatrading
Dec 17 2024

The songs feel like they should be amazing but there's just something holding it back. Although a lot of reviews are saying it's emotionless, I don't think that's it. I think it's more that the singing doesn't mix well with the music backing it up. I wish I loved this, but I just didn't.

Come Find Yourself by Fun Lovin' Criminals
Dec 18 2024

This is the first album I've heard on this list to have given me a lot of ironic enjoyment. It's so bad and the lyrics are so cheesy that it becomes funny. They literally use a high pitched sample from Free Bird and play it off as serious. This album is a joke but a really funny joke which I look forward to laughing at in the future.

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Dec 19 2024

Feels too pretentious and artsy rather than being actually good. It's what I thought Dark Side of the Moon was going to be like before I listened to it and realized it's a masterpiece. This album is really bad and not worth listening to.

Merriweather Post Pavilion by Animal Collective
Dec 20 2024

I'm sorry to your ears if you listen to this. It's not the most enjoyable but it can be ok occasionally.

Dec 21 2024

Going into this I was expecting a great album and I was proven right! The first and last song are just perfection. The guitar, drums, bass are all incredible throughout. Moon child was definitely the low point of the album as it's pretty boring, but the concept is cool. Overall an obvious but necessary choice for this list.

Djam Leelii by Baaba Maal
Dec 22 2024

Underrated gem! Completely different from the rest of the list and is great to relax to.

Back to Mystery City by Hanoi Rocks
Dec 23 2024

Everything wrong with the 80's in one album. It's just a bad version of Bon Jovi. Why the hell is this album even close to this list, just no!

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Dec 24 2024

This album is easily one of the best I've heard so far and I've already heard a fifth of the album's! It cemented metal as a genre to be taken seriously. There are eight be songs on this album and somehow they're all 8/10 or higher. Other than the obvious highlights (War Pigs, Paranoid, Iron Man), I really enjoyed Rat Salad, Hand of Doom, and Planet Caravan. As someone who listens for the drums in songs, this album blew me away with one of the best drum performances in an album. The guitar is also incredible and those solos are otherworldly they're so good. Everything about this album is peak metal and a permanent member of not only the top 1001, but top 50 albums of all time!

Dec 27 2024

The guitar and drums are really great throughout this album but everything else is just ok.

Green by R.E.M.
Dec 28 2024

Although I prefer Murmur, this is still a great album.

The Libertines by The Libertines
Dec 29 2024

The music is well performed and has a good structure but the singer isn't great. It sounds pretty similar to a lot of albums on this list and does little to stand out.

Trans Europe Express by Kraftwerk
Dec 30 2024

I respect all they've done for electronic music but I'm still generally not a fan of the genre. The stuff on this album is pretty weird and isn't always great but it's good enough for me to give it a 3.

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
Dec 31 2024

A really good album that came out of nowhere for me! Instrumental is great and the vocal performance is amazing.

Damaged by Black Flag
Jan 01 2025

It's ok but I would not be able to tell these songs apart if they didn't all begin with a guitar screech.

Jan 02 2025

I don't tend to like modern music and this explains it. Maybe it's because I grew up listening to this garbage but it's probably just because it sucks. Boring lyrics, boring instrumentals and WAY too much whispering. I'm glad other people can manage to enjoy it but NOT ME!

Red Dirt Girl by Emmylou Harris
Jan 03 2025

I mean it's not offensively boring but it's not really that interesting and I've got really nothing to say about it.

Parallel Lines by Blondie
Jan 04 2025

I would've given this album a 3 but I hate Heart of Glass. This band also feels like it's trying to be so quirky by having a female singer and male band, like that's never been done before!

La Revancha Del Tango by Gotan Project
Jan 05 2025

I like the accordion in this album a lot. The album has a funky Latin vibe which is so good. Great underrated album on the list.

Trafalgar by Bee Gees
Jan 06 2025

Stick to disco!

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
Jan 07 2025

Frank Ocean only made 2 albums and is still one of the most popular artists on Spotify. This isn't a coincidence as this album is on here for being extremely creative and just great in general.

Survivor by Destiny's Child
Jan 08 2025

I feel like this album is rated so low on this website because a lot of people using this album are using it to get away from music like this. Not to say this album is terrible but it's just not my taste in music. I don't get why so many people love Beyonce because from my perspective everything she's done is just mediocre. Am I biased because I hate the 2019 Lion King, of course, but this album is still not that good otherwise. It's too much pop and not much else which is not what I like in music.

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Jan 09 2025

The lyrics are obviously great but I never really got into the actually songs. It's all kind of boring and just not my thing. Not too into Bob Dylan's music but I like him only because if it wasn't for him The Beatles wouldn't made Rubber Soul or any of their trippy albums (he gave them drugs).

All Things Must Pass by George Harrison
Jan 11 2025

This album is proof that George Harrison didn't need The Beatles to be the legend he is today. Every song in this album is at least a 7/10 with some songs being close to perfection. The first 6 songs are definitely the highlight of the entire album. Although "My Sweet Lord" may have copied "He's So Fine" it's so much better then that song it doesn't even compete (although the similarities are impossible to deny). "What is Life" is easily the best song on this album with its heartfelt message and amazing guitar riff that keeps getting stuck in my head. This is undeniably the best solo Beatles album. Favourite songs: I'd Have You Any Time, My Sweet Lord, Wah-Wah, Isn't a Pity, *What is Life, If Not for You, Let it Down, I Live for You, Apple Scruffs, Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp (Let it Roll), All Things Must Past.

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Jan 12 2025

Pretty good album although no song in particular stuck with me.

Street Signs by Ozomatli
Jan 13 2025

I can't believe this album is rated so low! It's very different from the rest of the list as it has a lot of influences from all over the world. The Latin influences show the most and gives the album a real upbeat vibe. It is very underrated and I think is an album more people should pay attention to on this list.

Jan 14 2025

Better than the last Eminem album and further cements him as the Rap God. It's also really funny how a lot of people are complaining that this album is too inappropriate despite that being the point (Although the homophobia is pretty bad and didn't age well). I'm not giving 5 stars because the second half isn't as good as the first but still a solid album. Also "The Real Slim Shady" is a banger!

Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones
Jan 15 2025

Another great Rolling Stones album. It's neat to see how they've grown as a band from the first album and how much the instrumentals have gotten better. That being said the album is pretty long even if it is consistent.

Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Jan 16 2025

I'm convinced this album is just a prank because otherwise it doesn't make sense.

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
Jan 17 2025

Great upbeat album

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
Jan 18 2025

Three words: Death, Destruction, Diarrhea.

Jan 19 2025

Just a really boring album that does not deserve to be in this list. It's fine, but to say it is essential to hear is absurd.

Clube Da Esquina by Milton Nascimento
Jan 20 2025

Pretty long album and although I enjoyed, it definitely dragged on a bit.

The Gershwin Songbook by Ella Fitzgerald
Jan 21 2025

I'm giving it a 3, which is how many hours I'm saving by not listening to this. This is the first of 270 albums that I'm just not listening to because it is so long. I listened to a bit and it sounded good but I could not listen to anything for over 2 hours and still be invested. The Gen Z attention span strikes again!

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jan 22 2025

It's hard to imagine this is one of Bob Marley's first albums as it's pretty good. It still has the feel of a Marley album without the fine tuning the later albums have. It also feels more like a Wailers album as they are more present in this album than in later ones. Overall pretty good but isn't as good compared to later Bob Marley albums.

Slippery When Wet by Bon Jovi
Jan 23 2025

Although I really enjoyed the two hit songs on the album, the lyrics are really cheesy to the point where they became comical. It's like the album equivalent of going to the Olive Garden and never telling the waiter to stop while they're grating cheese on your pasta. Some may like this amount of cheese but I can only handle so much of it! Also, SQUIDWARD ON A CHAIR!!

Atomizer by Big Black
Jan 24 2025

The cover made the album seem like it would be fine but it ended up being terrible. Stay as far away from this heaping pile of crap!

Fear Of A Black Planet by Public Enemy
Jan 25 2025

Good album but a little long. Music is nothing special but the lyrics are great and still resonate today.

Pelican West by Haircut 100
Jan 27 2025

The horns carry this album!

Diamond Life by Sade
Jan 28 2025

The lyrics are really cheezy but the vocals and instrumentals are great.

Jan 29 2025

A Tribe Called Quest proving again they are one of the best groups on this list. The rapping is great along side expert use of sampling. I especially like the "Sir Duke" sample in Footprints. Overall one of the best on this list. Favorite songs: Footprints, Bonita Applebum, Can I Kick It, Ham 'N' Eggs

Sweet Baby James by James Taylor
Jan 30 2025

This album is literally the old people tamer. Play it to anyone over the age of 50 and they will instantly be calmer. If it worked on my parents, it'll work on yours!

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Jan 31 2025

I think we all should have known MJ was a creep from some of these lyrics. Either way still a quality album.

The Wildest! by Louis Prima
Feb 01 2025

Consistently great album with some classics and the best scatting you'll ever hear.

Lam Toro by Baaba Maal
Feb 02 2025

Instruments are great but the singing is a bit grating.

The Rising by Bruce Springsteen
Feb 03 2025

Did we really need a Springsteen album from the 2000s on this list? It's pretty mediocre and doesn't do anything that notable.

Abbey Road by Beatles
Feb 04 2025

I finally reached it, the best album on the list! This is a perfect album and is probably the best Beatles album in terms of quality (although I prefer Rubber Soul personally). The first half features iconic songs back to back with "Something" being the standout for me. Each song feels uniquely different on this half which adds a lot of variety to the album. The second half is a medley which showcases how talented The Beatles truly were. When the best band ever makes their masterpiece, of course it's going to make it on this list. In summary, IT'S WAY BETTER THAN RUMOURS! Favorite Songs: ALL OF THEM! (Maxwell's Silver Hammer is definitely the weakest though)

The Clash by The Clash
Feb 05 2025

I tend to not like punk and most punk albums I've had so far were not great. This album is not like those other punk albums. I can tell that they have talent as the instrumentals are great and so are the lyrics. This album shows a lot of potential that London Calling lives up to. Glad I got proven wrong on this album!

Sail Away by Randy Newman
Feb 06 2025

This is not a great album but it is really funny because of how bad it is. He literally just observes things in his lyrics and it is so stupid. After listening to his other album on the list it made me dislike him and this album didn't do him any favors. Hopefully there are only 2 of these albums and I'll only hear him in Toy Story (WHERE RANDY BELONGS!).

69 Love Songs by The Magnetic Fields
Feb 07 2025

Usually for boring albums I would give it a 3 or a 2 for wasting my time. This is so boring and lasts 3 hours! Nobody should listen to this and it does not deserve to be on this list just because it has the funny number!

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Feb 08 2025

Another classic from Jimi Hendrix that sounded completely different from his first album. There were so many moments where I was shocked to hear a guitar make the sounds it did which is a testament to how good Jimi was at playing. The drums are another highlight of the album being consistently great. The songs themselves were pretty good all around but, the last 4 songs are definitely the best part. This album is a showcase of how innovative and talented Jimi Hendrix was, what an experience!

Black Metal by Venom
Feb 09 2025

I wish the people who made this album discovered therapy before they made this mistake. Unfortunately, they are now just goths who live in their mom's basement and worship Satan. If you can't tell, I think this album is trash!

Feb 10 2025

This is what soulless music sounds like. It sounds like an AI wrote and played these songs and I don't understand how it's on the list. It's listenable which is why it isn't a 1 but it should not be on this list.

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
Feb 11 2025

This is the second Sly and The Family Stone albums I've gotten and it's pretty consistent with the last album. It's pretty solid throughout with a lot of great songs. The second song was a little jarring to hear and felt a out of place on the album. Otherwise just another great addition to the list.

Dusty In Memphis by Dusty Springfield
Feb 12 2025

Good album but would not sing these songs to a new born baby.

Machine Head by Deep Purple
Feb 13 2025

Smoke on the Water is really good and the rest of the album is not quite as great but still quality. Definitely a classic rock album that needed to be on this list.

Harvest by Neil Young
Feb 14 2025

Somehow Neil Young improved on After the Gold Rush and perfected his music with Harvest. The songwriting is incredible to hear on this album and there are moments when both the lyrics and instrumentals (specifically the guitar) work perfectly together. This album has no bad songs is consistent throughout. Harvest is a necessary addition to the list! Favorite songs: Out on the Weekend, A Man Needs a Maid, Heart of Gold, Are Your Ready For the Country, *Old Man, Alabama, The Needle and the Damage Done, Words (Between the Lines of Age)

The Cars by The Cars
Feb 15 2025

Neat to see Ric Ocasek while he was still playing (I know him for producing Weezer's blue album). It's a solid enough album but none of the songs really stuck out to me. Cool this is on the list but also would've liked to see a Weezer album.

American Pie by Don McLean
Feb 17 2025

The song, "American Pie", is a masterpiece of songwriting which recaps the history of music at that point beautifully while also being a tribute to Buddy Holly solidifying his legacy. The rest of the album is nothing special with some great songs and some stinkers. Overall the titular song is incredible but the rest is pretty forgettable, a bunch of songs lost to space.

A Girl Called Dusty by Dusty Springfield
Feb 18 2025

I thought it was going to be mediocre like the other Springfield album I got but this one was just really enjoyable. I liked the overall faster beat that early 60s albums bring which is probably why I liked it so much.

Shaft by Isaac Hayes
Feb 19 2025

Perfectly cheesy in every mother _______ (Shut your mouth) way!

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Feb 20 2025

Definitely the best of the Chili Peppers! Whereas Californication has more memorable singles, this album is a lot more consistent. Just a solid rock album that shows why a lot of people love this band.

Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane
Feb 21 2025

Album is pretty mediocre in general but I find it funny how one of their most streamed songs on Spotify is "Somebody to Love" probably because of the name being identical to the Queen song.

Heroes by David Bowie
Feb 23 2025

Has a great start with a bad ending. The first half of the album felt like it was typical Bowie and included heroes! The second half was a lot of instrumentals and was not as interesting (also felt a bit empty). Don't know if this one needed to be on the list.

Guitar Town by Steve Earle
Feb 24 2025

It's fine, it's boring, and it's not meant to be anything special are all good ways to describe this album. I don't know why the author of this list chose an album like this over stuff that's actually high quality but whatever, his loss. Just another worthless spot on the list

Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
Feb 25 2025

I'm not a huge Talking Heads after getting 2 of the albums already so I wasn't excited for this one. I was surprised to hear the first song was really good and it raised my expectations for the rest of the album. Too bad the rest of the album features the terrible lead vocalist. I said that in my last review, "If you remove the main singer, it's actually pretty good" which was proven to be true for this album as well. The album's second half is also much weaker which didn't add to my enjoyment. Guess I shouldn't be surprised that it sucked.

Feb 26 2025

Unexpected but I'm glad I liked it so much. It's a really funny album but is actually good. It utilizes sampling well and has a flow that a lot of rap albums (especially for its time) don't have. Along with the goofy lyrics, I'm surprised to say but I have to give it a 5. Maybe it's to balance all the negative reviews but it's also just a really solid album!

Aja by Steely Dan
Feb 27 2025

Easily one of the greatest albums I've heard so far! This album is so well composed and produced making every song extremely memorable. What really makes this album incredible however is the instrument backing. Steely Dan (Becker and Fagen) would hire studio musicians to play each song and chose whoever fit the track best. The highlight of this was on the song "Home at Last" where Bernard Purdie gave one of the best drum performances of all time! This is one of the best albums I've heard so far and I can't wait to hear more Steely Dan in the future. Liked songs: All!

1989 by Taylor Swift
Feb 28 2025

I just had 2 five star albums in a row so I was expecting something bad to come next. Unfortunately for me, it happened to be an "album" with everything I hate about my generation's music taste (so worse than I expected). After listening to the album I do think I was slightly over exaggerating but I still didn't enjoy. To me it feels pretty corporate and unimpressed. It also isn't very relatable but that is probably because I'm not the target audience. Still, I had to listen to this on the radio for years so my brain is programmed to hating it. Would be a 1.5 but since it's overplayed to hell and back I'm giving it a 1.

Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
Mar 01 2025

Although I never cared for any of the Bob Dylan albums I got previously, this one was pretty good. His song writing is showcased well and his guitar playing is stellar.

Teenager Of The Year by Frank Black
Mar 02 2025

Although it did sound decent nothing really stood out to me. It's also a really long album and felt like some songs could have been cut. Definitely good moments but overall a little dull.

Histoire De Melody Nelson by Serge Gainsbourg
Mar 03 2025

If you want a French guy whispering shit in your ear, you'll like this album. I hate that so this is one of the worst things I've ever listened to.

C'est Chic by CHIC
Mar 04 2025

This is the cheesiest album and aged terribly. The only thing I liked was the guitar, everything just did not work. For the first few seconds of "Le Freak" I thought I would be enjoying it but after a minute I was already done with it and noticed it's flaws. Overall did not enjoy.

California by American Music Club
Mar 05 2025

Solid indie album with great lyrics for some songs.

Forever Changes by Love
Mar 06 2025

Overall mediocre but some decent songs

Pink Flag by Wire
Mar 07 2025

I appreciate the amount of songs on this album and how none of them overstay their welcome. A short and sweet album throughout.

Garbage by Garbage
Mar 08 2025

It was not garbage!

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Mar 09 2025

Pretty good well written album but not for me.

Mar 10 2025

Has a strong 80's feel which is not my favourite but the bass makes it a pretty good album.

Mar 12 2025

Decent songs on their own but make for a boring album.

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
Mar 13 2025

Neat to see both the origins of Black Sabbath and heavy metal in this album. Although it doesn't reach the heights of Paranoid, it is still a great album with legendary musicians.

Dummy by Portishead
Mar 14 2025

And the award for most angsty album goes to...

Bad by Michael Jackson
Mar 15 2025

I feel compelled to watch A Goofy Movie now and I don't know why!

Ingenue by k.d. lang
Mar 16 2025

Miss Chatelaine and Constant Craving were pretty good but the rest was nothing special.

What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
Mar 17 2025

When you get perfect vocals with perfect instrumentals, an easy 5 star album. Thanks for the update Marvin!

Arrival by ABBA
Mar 18 2025

Lyrics are so stupid and everything else is so schmultzy. It feels like the music is too full of itself despite the fact that it sucks. I have personal bias against this but I also just can't stand listening to such hot garbage. SHE'S NOT EVEN PRONOUNCING HAWAII RIGHT!

Synchronicity by The Police
Mar 19 2025

Synchronicity is such a great album. The first two Police albums are much more rock focused mixing other genres it. The next two albums features a lot of experimentation which a leads perfectly to this album. Using the new sound of the latter two albums while creating amazing lyrics to go along with it. The last half of this album is perfect with no bad songs but the first half is lacking a bit. Miss Gradenko and Mother are lacking compared to the rest of the album. Other than that though everything else is great. My favorites are Synchronicity II and Murder by Numbers. Copeland is still an incredible drummer and Summers still kills on the guitar and Sting's vocals tie everything together. An easy 5 star. Liked songs: Synchronicity I, Walking in Your Footsteps, O My God, Synchronicity II, Every Breath You Take, King of Pain, Wrapped Around Your Finger, Tea in the Sahara, Murder By Numbers.

Want Two by Rufus Wainwright
Mar 20 2025

This album has some really great stuff but also some crap. I guess I'll give it a 3 even though it would be funnier to give it a 2 (songs are either 2 or 4 songs for me).

Bitches Brew by Miles Davis
Mar 21 2025

This is a really hard album to listen to. It's got great bones and the musicians on it are extremely talented but it just does not come together. The drums and bass are the most consistent aspects but piano and trumpet can sometimes catch you off guard and they feel out of place. When this album works it is truly great but when it fails, it falls apart.

good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar
Mar 22 2025

One of the most influential albums of the 2010s and it's easy to see why do many like it. The lyrics are great and add a lot of depth to these songs. Along with great production it becomes one of the best rap albums ever made. Personally I prefer a little more emphasis on the backing track like in Illmatic but this is still a classic.

Femi Kuti by Femi Kuti
Mar 24 2025

Just as good as his dad. Strong lyrics with amazing instrumentals. Just an amazing album! Also the opening to Stubbor Problems was crazy especially considering that it's what really happened to Fela Kuti.

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
Mar 25 2025

I hated everything about this. I couldn't even listen to a few minutes of it without wanting to skip every song. Should NOT be on this list!

You're Living All Over Me by Dinosaur Jr.
Mar 26 2025

I'm pretty conflicted on this album. It sometimes is really good but at other times it is screaming nonsense. I'll give it a 3 as it clearly was influential and has some decent songs but definitely has some stinkers.

Risque by CHIC
Mar 27 2025

A noticeable improvement from C'est Chic! This album is a lot less cheezy and easier to appreciate the amazing guitar and bass. It still is a disco album but it's probably the best a disco album can be for me. Plus, that bass line on the first song is killer!

Mar 28 2025

Good message but I was not a fan of the execution. Too much whispering and the songs themselves aren't great. Some of these lyrics are also really cheesy which dampens the importance of this topic. I wish this album was better considering how important the message is but it sucked.

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Mar 29 2025

A beautiful album which highlights why the samba is so good. The ending song, "Bahia" is actually a cover and an amazing one at that. Every instrument is played to perfection and comes together to create this masterpiece.

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Mar 30 2025

Crazy how a decade before this they were singing Twist and Shout!

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Mar 31 2025

Pretty solid album throughout but nothing stood out to me (except the marimba in one song)

Apr 01 2025

An absolute banger! I loved every song on this album and it lived up to its funky nature. Even if it was hard to find, I much prefer this to Maggot Brain. Great album that more people should know about.

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
Apr 02 2025

This album is a loving tribute to Syd Barrett (an ex bandmate who was forced to leave after continued use of LSD) which reflects how the band felt about him even after they hadn't seen him for years. The instrumentals are incredible with expert use of synths and incredible guitar riffs and solos. Everything just comes together creating one of Pink Floyd's best albums.

Honky Tonk Heroes by Waylon Jennings
Apr 03 2025

Country = 3, that's just how it is.

Apr 04 2025

It's basically listening to the same song over and over again for an hour straight. The song itself is fine but the length of the album is to it's detriment.

I Should Coco by Supergrass
Apr 05 2025

It's no Blur but it's still pretty good

m b v by My Bloody Valentine
Apr 06 2025

That was a nothing album

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Apr 07 2025

Great funky soundtrack! The opening line in Pusherman caught me off guard which was a funny way to start such a great funky song. Overall I'm probably going to drive with this album playing in the background at all times.

The Doors by The Doors
Apr 08 2025

Pretty classic album which basically shows the turning point of music in the sixties. A necessary inclusion to the list but a little inconsistent for my liking. Also the last song sucked but the rest of the album is still great!

Let It Be by The Replacements
Apr 09 2025

Although it's not close to being as good as the Beatles' "Let it Be", it does have "Gary's Got a Boner"

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Apr 10 2025

Because I've this album I'm making it my life mission to play Born on the Bayou for an alligator (in the Bayou obviously).

Rock Bottom by Robert Wyatt
Apr 11 2025

First song I actually didn't mind but I did not enjoy the rest.

The Next Day by David Bowie
Apr 12 2025

Solid album but obviously not up to Bowie's usual standard. Still worth a listen but definitely doesn't need to be on this list.

Hypnotised by The Undertones
Apr 13 2025

It was ok I guess

Apr 14 2025

I tend to like metal but this is pretty generic and lacks what I want from a metal album. Just emo garbage.

Achtung Baby by U2
Apr 15 2025

It's aight but U2 in general is just mediocre to me.

Tago Mago by Can
Apr 16 2025

Has moments that are really great but Aumgn and Peking O bring it down.

Django Django by Django Django
Apr 17 2025

Cool album, reminds me of Tame Impala but not quite there for me.

Machine Gun Etiquette by The Damned
Apr 18 2025

3 star albums are hardest to write reviews for as I don't have much of an opinion on them. They usually lead to me writing a generic review like so: It's an alright album but just not too interesting for me.

Melodrama by Lorde
Apr 19 2025

This album is good at putting me to sleep but otherwise not much else.

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Apr 21 2025

Found it boring

Pornography by The Cure
Apr 22 2025

Not the best of The Cure but still not bad.

Apr 24 2025

Every song starts off like it's going to sound great but ends up sucking.

Slipknot by Slipknot
Apr 25 2025

I can see how it influenced bands like Linkin Park but its just a lot of yelling on its own.

Dirt by Alice In Chains
Apr 26 2025

Well made music to rock to.

Phrenology by The Roots
Apr 27 2025

It's fine but not very interesting to me.

American Beauty by Grateful Dead
Apr 28 2025

Perfectly written and beautifully composed, how could I not give it a 5!

A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
Apr 29 2025

Great talent working on this album with some truly impressive solos. Wish it was a little more cohesive for my taste but overall great stuff.

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Apr 30 2025

The perfect jazz album

Meat Puppets II by Meat Puppets
May 01 2025

Pretty chill album which also happened to be influential in making one of the most famous bands of all time (Nirvana).

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
May 02 2025

A decent start for the band but isn't as good in comparison to later albums.

Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
May 04 2025

This sold me on the Beastie Boys. I wasn't sure about the other album of theirs I got but this one was just so consistent and solid. I now understand why they're part of this list, good stuff.

Inspiration Information by Shuggie Otis
May 05 2025

Great album but the last few songs come from a previous album he did. Still it is incredible music that deserves to be in the list, just can't be a 5 for me.

With The Beatles by Beatles
May 06 2025

A lot of people hate the early Beatles albums because it lacks the perfection the later albums achieve both lyrically and musically. My argument for this is that they are SO DAMN CATCHY! I could listen to this for hours on end and even if it is far from their best, I can't stop listening to it!

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
May 07 2025

Really solid and innovative album!

Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath
May 08 2025

The exact reason I'm doing this project. I absolutely loved this album from it's typical Sabbath metal songs to softer songs like Changes. I didn't think Black Sabbath could ever close to their hit album Paranoid, but this album proved me wrong.

In It For The Money by Supergrass
May 09 2025

First half was great but second half wasn't quite as good. Liked it better than the first Supergrass album but not as much as other Britpop bands like Blur.

Play by Moby

Electronic music is just not for me. This isn't too bad but I still wouldn't want to listen to it.

Tapestry by Carole King
May 11 2025

Amazing lyrically while also being simple musically in the best way. Classic album

Whatever by Aimee Mann
May 12 2025

Crazy how an album called "Whatever" was mediocre beyond belief!

The Velvet Underground & Nico by The Velvet Underground
May 13 2025

So that sucked! Just peel off the banana, keep the cool sticker, and never put this into your record player.

Faith by George Michael
May 14 2025

Very cheezy

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
May 16 2025

Not a fan of Gothic rock but it still is decent.

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
May 17 2025

I like Illinois but this album sucks!

Cross by Justice

No, I don't like listening to seizures

Legalize It by Peter Tosh
May 21 2025

That certainly was a reggae album but not one I was all that interested in

Yank Crime by Drive Like Jehu
May 22 2025

Even if it isn't my thing necessarily, it is still pretty solid and doesn't deserve as much hate as other albums on this list.

Violator by Depeche Mode
May 24 2025

Sounds super dated

Younger Than Yesterday by The Byrds
May 25 2025

I hate the Byrds so much. They are literally just the shitty Beatles and don't even pretend to be anything else. Only problem is, The Beatles are actually good and keep evolving to be better. These guys are just content with soulless cash grabs and I'll rate them accordingly.

1977 by Ash
May 26 2025

Very good album with some great songs on it.

Elephant by The White Stripes
May 27 2025

Great album with some classic songs on it.

Blur by Blur
May 28 2025

Extremely consistent album which elevates their style from earlier albums mixing it with more hard rock. Blur is just a really great listen which captivates the whole way through.

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
May 30 2025

Truly an album that needs to be on this list. The concept of this album seems to be how a person views the theme of "love" and how it changes as they mature (or at least just different view points on love). I really appreciate what this album is expressing and how it advances The Beach Boys sound from previous albums. A few duds in here but overall a revolutionary album which changed the music scene. Liked songs: Wouldn't be Nice, That's Not Me, I'm Waiting For the Day, God Only Knows, Here Today, I Just Wasn't Made For These Times, Caroline, No.

Hejira by Joni Mitchell
May 31 2025

Led Zeppelin said it best, "Ramble On".

Too Rye Ay by Dexys Midnight Runners
Jun 02 2025

It was fine. I knew the one song which was ok but overall not kind of a waste of time.

All Mod Cons by The Jam
Jun 03 2025

Appreciate the bands they inspired but The Jam itself is only alright. Many good songs here just some miss the mark.

Sea Change by Beck
Jun 05 2025

Great album to chill to!

Calenture by The Triffids

Cheese

Duck Rock by Malcolm McLaren
Jun 11 2025

Most random album ever made. I can't understand this album, it is so weird.

Billion Dollar Babies by Alice Cooper
Jun 12 2025

Definitely not the best Alice Cooper album but still alright.

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Jun 13 2025

Way more melancholy than I expect a Beach Boys album to be but I really enjoyed it. When I got Pet Sounds I stupidly gave it a 4 not realizing how much I'd be going back to those songs. Even if I enjoy that album more, I'm giving this a 5 just because I really vibe with it. It's really consistent with deep messages and amazing harmonies.

Sheet Music by 10cc
Jun 15 2025

Pretty decent record but nothing that really interested me.

Fire Of Love by The Gun Club
Jun 17 2025

Super boring and not very good.

1984 by Van Halen
Jun 18 2025

It's the drums and guitar shredding that did it for me. Although it is not as good as their first album, it was still pretty enjoyable!

Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye
Jun 19 2025

Marvin Gaye must have made this to be every person's wingman because this album is just too irresistible!

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow
Jun 21 2025

Pretty boring not worth a listen for me.

Songs From A Room by Leonard Cohen
Jun 22 2025

I didn’t know just how bad his singing was but it’s so bad it brought down the entire album.

Greetings From L.A. by Tim Buckley
Jun 23 2025

If you remove the vocals and the lyrics with them this album is pretty good. As a total package though it’s definitely a mixed bag.

Now I Got Worry by The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
Jun 24 2025

The fact this came out in the 90s and not the 70s makes this album slightly worse. Not that good either way.

All Directions by The Temptations
Jun 25 2025

Good solid funky album

The Dreaming by Kate Bush
Jun 26 2025

Annoying but not as bad as the other Kate Bush album on here.

Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Jun 27 2025

Solid album but felt a little boring after a while. Definitely well made just repetitive and slow paced.

Cypress Hill by Cypress Hill
Jun 29 2025

One of the worst hip hop albums I’ve heard in the list so far. Just feels cheesy and generic compared to other stuff I’ve heard. It’s not bad just basic.
