One of the most highly over-rated bands in existence. Every song sounds the same with a self-indulgent solo. From another review, I see that there are three more of these turd piles to get through.

Classic! I listened to this more than once as I never realized how great she was.

I really enjoyed this
I didn't think I was going to like this....but by golly, I did.
Great album, trippy bass lines.
I grew up listening to come of the more well known songs from this album ("In the Ghetto", "Suspicious Minds", "Kentucky Rain") but had never heard some of the other tracks. Right from the opening track "Wearin' That Loved On Look" with its toe-tapping bass and then later, "I'm Movin' On", the talent of the Memphis Boys really shines through. First album I listened to more than once in the day. Don't get some of the hate on the other reviews. This isn't "late" Elvis...this is coming off the heels of the '68 Comeback Special.

When I was 16, I was listening II and IV non-stop and then a friend gave me the box set that came out in 1992, which I listened to further before just checking out. That was the extent of my Led Zeppelin experience. So I was excited to this appear on my list....I was only familiar with a few of these songs (Custard Pie, In my Time of Dying, Bron-Yr-Aur, Kashmir) but dang, the rest of these songs are solid. I don't give out a whole lot of 5s but this earned it.
This take me back to the summer of 1992, driving around in my yellow Rabbit with the windows down and this cassette blasting Freedom! It still resonates. Not sure if I'm giving this a 5 because of the nostalgia-value alone or because it is very good.
Best thing about this album are the reviews. I found myself tapping my feet and rather enjoying the riffs, but then it just devolved into noise.
I was 20 years old when this album came out. I think most of my 5 stars are a result of nostalgia....regardless, loved it then, love it now.
Started strong but last three songs.....wth? I never like Navarro. I always thought he was a pretentious git but I have a whole new appreciation for Eric Avery after listening to this.
Agree with some of these posts about this hot garbage.
I’d never listened to the full album before, and now that I have, I can see I wasn’t missing much—lyrics are pretty juvenile.
Meh. I was expecting a little more from this.
One of those unexpected gems from a band I had never heard of. I really enjoyed this.
I thought I was too hard on JT until I listed to this album.
Classic! I listened to this more than once as I never realized how great she was.
I definitely prefer country from around this time and earlier than current fare. This isn't terrible and I was surprised by the horn section in the first track.
Really enjoyed this one. I had never heard of him before and this gem is one of the reasons I like doing this 1001 albums.
mmmmmk
This is exactly why I'm here: I've never heard of Pulp before. I really enjoyed this album. Will definitely listen to again.
A few good songs here. Classics even. But the rest? Sophomoric but I don't think my 14 y/o self would even like this.
Would have given this a 4, but then I remembered that video that came out by celebrities during the pandemic in which they all sang "Imagine" in order to say "Hey, we're in this together." Now whenever I hear that song, it reminds me of that. Doesn't sound like the best reason, but dont care.
Years ago I was doing landscaping between degrees. It was a good job and I met some interesting people. One guy and I were talking about Rush: he had a friend of a friend who was doing some work at a house owned by an elderly couple. In the hallway, they had life-sized portrait of Geddy Lee. He laughed and asked why they had that. He was their son. I was never a fan growing up in Canada, but when I was visiting San Diego a few times and hanging out in some of the shops at Mission Beach and Ocean Beach, I was constantly hearing Rush being played.
This is an example of why I love this site. I've never heard of this band before and now I'm a fan!
Well, if I had never heard the whole album I would have missed that lyrically beautiful ballad "Great Expectations". I had to do some digging to see if this was satire. I don't think it was. Know who's more over-rated than Metallica? This band.
I tried....I really did. Must be getting old but all this misogyny, racism, egoism, and terrible rhyming is just not appealing at all.
Too much harp.
