Instantly hit with a huge, warm sound. Her voice is massive in the mix, the horns feel like a gentle cuddle with tough love. I love when you hear something for the first time and there's a feeling of devastation, in kind of a good way. Devastated that I haven't heard this before and devastated by how good this music is. I just have to close my eyes and succumb to it.

I think I dismissed this album as a contrarian young person. Bittersweet Symphony was such a momentous cultural moment, an acme anvil dropped on society. It's hard to overstate how big this song was. I thought it was so uncool because of that. But listening to it along with the rest of the record I see it for what it is, an absolute behemouth of a track.
I love Neil Young. I was in the Young camp during the arbitrary Young vs Dylan battle that went around my high school - now I'd pitch my tent in both. Admittedly this is an album I hadn't listened to much. It has the great characteristic Young tape warp - is this a demo lo-fi feel of 70s Young. Good tunes, it doesn't speak to me like Tonight's the Night and After the Goldrush do but maybe I've forgetten a few of my tent poles. Highlights: The two 'blues' tracks are good, though the questionable practice of white musicians playing the blues or just ripping off blues artists hasn't aged too well. Neil's isn't tooo agregious if that is any consolation. I love the strained, slightly out of tune vocals, guitar and slide guitar on For The Turnstiles. Lowlights: See the sky about rain
Love it, no TPAB but a classic all the same.
Another classic! Love this so much, I feel like I know the track list by heart. To me, the fragile is better just perfect album sequencing. No skips ever
