Fairly inoffensive, but nothing amazing. Yet another album that I can't believe is on this list!

Instrumentals were great, vocals were terrible. Don't even get me started on the rap!

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Oct 13 2025

It was... fine... Cant' Always Get What You Want and the opening track were the two best ones

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Oct 16 2025

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Nov 02 2025

Was just 70s porno music

Frank by Amy Winehouse
Nov 07 2025
The Wall by Pink Floyd
Nov 08 2025

Massively influential and, Hey You, Comfortably Numb and Another Brick in the Wall pt1,2 and 3 are all incredible songs. But the album is really pretentious sounding to me other than that, no matter how many Floyd albums there are on this list, I just can't get into them!

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Nov 12 2025

Nice folk-ey album. Nice lyrics and I like Nick's voice a lot

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Nov 13 2025

Good background music

Reading other reviews of this album, I was dreading it. But there are far more offensive albums on this list. It really does make you think; maybe 1001 albums is too many? This is background music, and not entirely pleasant music at that, but I have had some humdingers on this list and I managed to make it through this in one sitting so it can't have been too bad. Probably a 2.5/5, rounding to a 3 because I feel sorry for the stats on this album.

Palo Congo by Sabu
Nov 22 2025

The reviews made me think that this would be terrible. I quite liked it!

Whatever by Aimee Mann
Nov 23 2025

Pleasant but forgettable

Teen Dream by Beach House
Nov 24 2025

Chill background music, but I don't think I'd come back to it

The Idiot by Iggy Pop
Dec 09 2025

A crap Bowie

Brutal Youth by Elvis Costello
Dec 11 2025

Gave up after track 5, I don't like his voice

Shadowland by k.d. lang
Dec 12 2025

Lovely voice, very mellow. I won't be coming back to it though

Tapestry by Carole King
Dec 14 2025

Solid, with some real belters. I will be coming back to this album

Gorillaz by Gorillaz
Dec 15 2025

Incredibly boring

Electric by The Cult
Dec 22 2025

Pure unadulterated dad-rock

Aha Shake Heartbreak by Kings of Leon
Jan 07 2026

I liked it, very different to their usual stadium anthems, but had some great tracks on here

Vivid by Living Colour
Jan 08 2026
The Wildest! by Louis Prima
Jan 11 2026

So much fun! One of those albums where you wish you were in the room when they recorded it

Take Me Apart by Kelela
Jan 12 2026

1001 albums is too many albums

Stripped by Christina Aguilera
Jan 14 2026

Enjoyed it a lot more than I expected, but still not quite my cup of tea

The Who Sell Out by The Who
Jan 17 2026

A lot of fun, very whacky and weird. I like it a lot

Chelsea Girl by Nico
Jan 18 2026

Very pretentious, with a flute in the background so jarring that I had to Google if it was a parody album. Not as bad as others have made it out, but definitely a skip. Another one of the albums that makes me think 1001 is too many

Screamadelica by Primal Scream
Jan 19 2026

I gave up by track 6. Some of the most boring music I've ever listened to

Parallel Lines by Blondie
Jan 20 2026

Banger after banger after banger

Heartbreaker by Ryan Adams
Jan 22 2026

Quite nice background music

Machine Gun Etiquette by The Damned
Jan 27 2026

It's so funny to me that this was considered hardcore punk at the time, but is really melodic to today's ear. This is a good listen, I'd recommend.

Os Mutantes by Os Mutantes
Jan 30 2026

I had a lot of fun with this one, got into it more as it went on. Definitely an album that will get a second and third listen

Green by R.E.M.
Feb 02 2026

I understand why people like them, but at the same time find it really strange that people could think this is the greatest music ever!!

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
Feb 03 2026

Pretty good, classic dad rock

Bone Machine by Tom Waits
Feb 05 2026

Like bad villain music from a disney film if the voice actor had a sore throat

Vauxhall And I by Morrissey
Feb 06 2026

Music to fall asleep to. Fine, just very boring

Groovin' by The Young Rascals
Feb 07 2026

More Beatles wannabes. Whoever compiled this list is obsessed with 60's pop-rock!

Crazysexycool by TLC
Feb 09 2026

Very groovy, I normally hate RnB and rap but enjoyed this one

Idlewild by Everything But The Girl
Feb 11 2026
Dummy by Portishead
Feb 20 2026
Fear and Whiskey by Mekons
Feb 24 2026

Weird weird album, it's not bad but just not particularly for me

Strange Cargo III by William Orbit
Feb 25 2026

Weird that only part 3 was good enough for this list, but this was a good listen. A lot different to my usual stuff, but I am going to check out parts 1 and 2!

Now I Got Worry by The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
Feb 26 2026

Jesus H Christ this album is terrible

Paul Simon by Paul Simon
Feb 27 2026

I like this a lot. Never would have listened to Paul Simon without this list!

Harvest by Neil Young
Feb 28 2026

Whoever compiled this list loves Neil Young. I didn't mind this album though, Heart of Gold and Old Man are classics

Appetite For Destruction by Guns N' Roses
Mar 01 2026

A very solid album, and even more so with this being their first. But you can't go anywhere without hearing one of these on the radio, so it was quite tiresome. Should probably be a 5, but Sweet Child annoys the hell out of me

Dust by Screaming Trees
Mar 02 2026

Another review describes this as "The Eagles of Grunge" and I can't disagree. I enjoyed the album but it's not groundbreaking or genre-defining. Solid 3.5-4/5

Greetings From L.A. by Tim Buckley
Mar 05 2026

I like some of his earlier stuff on this list much more than this one

Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves
Mar 07 2026

It's like listening to a really good support act at a gig. You will smile and nod politely, but probably won't listen to them again

Mar 08 2026

My triumphant return to this list and I get this mediocre album! It's fine, but there are 100 other 60s rock bands that have the same sound as this band. Whoever made this list loves 60s psychedelia

The Band by The Band
Aug 08 2026

The Bland more like

Heaven Or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins
Aug 09 2026

Liked this a lot, very dreamy and vibey. Even if I couldn't understand the singer!

Aug 11 2026

Her voice ranges from beautiful to really bloody annoying. Some good tunes though, and you can see the influence it had on Elton John

Come Away With Me by Norah Jones
Aug 12 2026

Can imagine that this is perfect in front of the fire on a cold winter's day

Very by Pet Shop Boys
Aug 13 2026

I did not like this at all, but can appreciate the production value

Odessa by Bee Gees
Aug 16 2026

Very interesting but not for me

Nevermind by Nirvana
Aug 18 2026

Probably one of the easiest 5*s I can give. My first time listening to this album wall to wall, and it is one of my favourite listening experiences so far. Funny lyrics, brilliant riffs, songs just long enough for the repititions to not get annoying. The legacy this album has left behind.... All reasons to give it a 5

Teenage Head by Flamin' Groovies
Aug 19 2026

Fairly inoffensive, but nothing amazing. Yet another album that I can't believe is on this list!

Heavy Weather by Weather Report
Aug 20 2026

Thoroughly enjoyed this, but can appreciate why others would hate it. This had some of the funkiest bass lines of any jazz I've listened to!

Something/Anything? by Todd Rundgren
Aug 21 2026

Not horrible, but incredibly dull. Definitely should not be on this list

Music by Madonna
Aug 22 2026

How anyone can call this music is beyond me

Infected by The The
Aug 23 2026

Hated the opening track, but the rest was fine

Live At The Regal by B.B. King
Aug 24 2026

I enjoyed this a lot, even if it was a little repetitive - but that's the blues baby!

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Aug 27 2026

First Dolly album I have listened to and loved it. Great poetic lyrics and musicality!

Shake Your Money Maker by The Black Crowes
Aug 29 2026

I liked this but don't think I would listen to it again. Sort of thing that plays on Planet Rock at 11pm

Modern Kosmology by Jane Weaver
Aug 30 2026

She's got a really nice voice and some nice musicality, will listen again

Actually by Pet Shop Boys
Aug 31 2026

Didn't enjoy this at all. It's a Sin is great song though

Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben Jor
Sep 01 2026

Enjoyed this a lot more than I should have, it's funky. Will be coming back to it

Apocalypse Dudes by Turbonegro
Sep 02 2026

Not horrible, but this is what kids movies think punk is

The Sensual World by Kate Bush
Sep 03 2026

I liked it, can see what the appeal was to the Stranger Things kids

Larks' Tongues In Aspic by King Crimson
Sep 05 2026

Enjoyed this a LOT, not sure how I hadn't come across this before as I have listened to a lot of other Crimson albums.

Tigermilk by Belle & Sebastian
Sep 06 2026

Incredibly boring, every song sounds the same. I like the singers voice but come on!

L'Eau Rouge by The Young Gods
Sep 08 2026

Once you get through the utter tripe that is the first track, I actually enjoyed this random mix of exprimental samples and awful string layering I have heard much worse on this list, but this is by no means a 4 or 5* album

Bitches Brew by Miles Davis
Sep 09 2026

I liked this a lot more than some of the other experimental jazz albums on this list!

Sep 11 2026

Enjoyed this a lot, his lyrics are so dense and I like his writing style. The harmonica did get a little annoying listening back to back, but the songs are all great individually. Masters of War, and Don't Think Twice It's Alright were my favourites

Purple Rain by Prince
Sep 12 2026

Enjoyed this a lot, some fun tunes, oozing with sex. Genuinely think Purple Rain is one of the best songs of all time, and I'm not even sure if that's a controversial statement

Steve McQueen by Prefab Sprout
Sep 14 2026

Quite enjoyed this and recognised a few of the tracks, probably won't listen again but wasn't bad by any means
