My first LP to listen to was The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett. I've included a wiki link of the LP itself and a youtube link: https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=c77djHcrmVE&list=OLAK5uy_nCadsSovaCieKT8xqxSZlxJgK1pg7Uw_c https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_K%C3%B6ln_Concert
I'd Never listened to it before even though It had been recommended to me several times. It's Brilliant. What a shame I've deprived myself of it my whole life. The story behind the recording is just as remarkable.

If you've ever wondered what the difference between punk rock, and indy rock is, it's this: Alt Rock. And this LP, Surfer Rosa by the Pixies is a prime example. A banger of a debut LP, "Doolittle" would follow a year later, it's an influential debut album. It combines raw, abrasive noise with unexpected moments of pop melody and quirky, surreal lyrics. It's unique in that it combines , spacious production and the dynamic interplay between Black Francis's intense vocals, avant-garde guitar work, and melodic bass, it has inspired generations of musicians. 4/5 for me.
Not my cup of tea but I do see the value in this recording. Art rock/dance/disco/pop are how I would describe this one. A least 4 songs I can honestly say caught my ear. Definitely worth a listen. Reminded of Laurie Anderson quite often.
Classic R&B from the legendary Al Green. It’s included in several “greatest of all time” lists. For good reason too. I really enjoyed it… I need to listen with someone very dear to me next time … 5/5
Good record. Not my bag of tea but it is very good.
Classic southern rock. Great live LP from a band, and a genre, I'm not that crazy about.
Another classic rocker. "Felling Alright?" is on here and that's oretty cool.
I loved this record back in the day and I still do now! Probably my favortie LP by The Police.
Not my favorite band by any stretch but I do like this LP very much. The Queen is Dead, Frankly Mr. Shankly, Cemetry Gates, Bigmouth strikes Again... some really good stuff on here.
Zappa, a genius, has never made music that appealed to me, a man of a much lesser intellect. I'm sure it's great on some levels but not for me.
Not my bag of tea but I know this LP from my old college roommate. It does bang ! Classic.
Classic Stones. One of my favorites from them. Rocks Off, Tumbling Dice, Happy, All Down the Line, Plundered My Soul.
Another solid outing by Supertramp.
School, Bloody Well Right, and Dreamer are the standout tracks for me.
I didn't really care for this one.
IMHO - This is one of the most overrated LPs in rock and roll history. There are some really good moments on here but I've never seen what the all fuss was about. The band and the LP are just okay IMHO.
Classic stuff from one of the greats! saw him live at the Grand Ol' Opry back '73... fun stuff.
Classic 60’s / early 70s rock.
Highway 61 is one of my very favorite Bob Dylan records.
One of my very favorites from Paul Simon!
A great one from a great one !
The LP that killed Van Halen. A very successful LP and tour. Several hits. Not their best but certainly worth a listen.
Not my bag of tea. I do see the appeal
THE PUNK LP TO OWN !! One of my all time favorites !
Not bad. I feel like I should really like them but o don’t really care for them that much.
One of my favorites from Sir Reginald!
Good stuff. I prefer The Raconteurs but this is an iconic duo and a trend setting LP.
Classic, dare I say groundbreaking jazz...?
One of my favorited from The Stones.
Face to Face, an album focusing on the loose common theme of social observation, is often regarded by critics as one of rock's first concept albums. Their first album consisting entirely of songs composed by members of The Kinks. "Sunny Afternoon" was the big hit. Apparently Ray Davies had suffered a nervous breakdown before recording began. Another all time fave of mine by The Kinks.
meh. New wave was fun for a little bit.
One of my faves from the Pumpkins!
Not my favorite by Neil but still a strong LP
Not a fan per se but I do enjoy his work from time to time
I love John Lennon but not this one...
One of my faves by Wilco!
Classic Clapton, Classic Derek and The Dominos.
Classic Lp from LA punk rockers X.
One of my favorites from The Stones!
My favorite country music concept LP!
Not a fan per se but not bad
One of my early Alt Rock faves !
One of my ALL TIME FAVES !!
One of the first concept albums. Details the Crazy story that is the life of S.F. Sorrow. Fantasy sci fi rock and roll. Worth a listen.
A great from our brothers in arms...
