Pretty groovy but nothing exceptional .

Felt like it was trying to be The Beatles for a few of the songs, didn't have much feeling in them.

It's a straightforward (meant literally) collection of mostly-happy tunes. Feels like a collection of singles, front-loaded at that.

Find Somebody and You Better Run weren't bad. The rest of the album wasn't all that exciting. Honestly, about what I expected. Late 60s pop rock with a brief dabble in the psychedelic.

Knee-jerk reaction to this....mostly to the album cover -- Jesus this is going to be terrible. After listening to the album, oh ok this is pretty alright. I have an immediate negative bias to anything groovy (see Feeling Groovy by Simon and Garfunkel) and, TBH, I had to really center my soul and listen to the title track more than once to not dismiss it out of hand. Still not a fantastic album -- has some elements of late 60's pop that I dislike -- but also a fair amount of soul elements to not make it a complete waste.....

This .... well, I wish I'd listened to the mono version. The stereo version was just someone randomly using hard pans. Even so, it just wasn't anything spectacular.

Guess you'd have a different opinion if you're a Usonian, for the rest of the world... this is just another Beatles wannabe band. Sometimes it sounds like a Beachboys thing but it really didn't do it for me. Kinda boring.

This Album is so pidly podley pop by numbers. So Baige, if you ever meet anyone who says this is their favourite album, just run.

In a nutshell: derivative psych soul You may know Good Lovin' or the title track, but that's all you need to hear. It's fine. Just... fine. Inoffensive. Overall: 2/10

Man this isn’t even like oh yea it’s old gotta love the classics! Just boring. Definitely not deserving of the list. Like usual, not devoid of musical value but there really isn’t a single thing on here I would show to anyone or listen to again under really any circumstances. The art is bad too. Everything.

i detest the dearth of creativity in an album like this. this is derivative trend chasing with nearly zero originality. four bozos who heard the beatles and thought "fuck, we could do that too!" who produced this. simplistic garage rock guitar instrumentation with mediocre psychedelia elements in a broadly unappealing attempt at soul. throw in some flutes and an organ too because why not. it's not even that this album is technically subpar or that they can't at least sing decently, but i hate everything that this represents. this is not an album in conversation with its contemporaries; it is an album that merely echos the innovations of others. had i heard this released today i might've assumed it was generated by suno.

Not memorable, unique, or impactful. It's short, which is its most redeeming quality.

Take a look at the album cover - all the clues are there It's called Groovin' Waistcoat, purple pants, bizarre shirt - victims of the 60's for sure Act on your gut feel - if you are still attrached to vanilla flavor 60's Monkey's wannabees, then go for it For everyone else, move on . . . quickly! This has no place in the 1001 best albums of all time

Not really my thing

No idea why this album is featured. Some generic, boring sixties band, like many others.

Needless cover versions done better by other artists. The sound is good but so is birdsong or cows mooing. Both are preferable to this mush.

Generic late 60s boomer-dad pop. There are a ton of bands that sound like this. Most of them are better.

This album is corny as hell. It sounds like a half-assed, wannabe version of so many other good bands of the era. Just do yourself a favor and go listen to The Kinks or Smokey Robinson & The Miracles instead. I hope this album being on the list means that I'm not going to have to listen to the Monkees eventually as well. Listening to this album was a chore, and started to make me doubt my commitment to completing this list.

Really didn't enjoy... Quite boring and trying to be soulful, but failing (for me!)

There was one song I didn't mind but it ended up going on for far too long and I grew to dislike it. A bit of a bore, won't be going back.

Nothing special

This album is like eating stale tortilla chips. It's not technically the worst experience, but just kind of a nothing gained, nothing lost experience. I believe that being completely devoid of interest is the largest mistake a piece of music could succumb to. If something tries to accomplish something but fails, at least there was an effort to do something greater, while this album just feels like something that has been created, and I have no dislike or like for it. The only issue I have so far (not the creator of the website's fault, rather the author of the book's) is that they seem to think old = better. While this may be partially true, I think there should be less of a bias towards older music.

More old music that's on here because everyone has heard the song Groovin so obviously the entire album is so special you must hear it, right? Right? Nope. Just the same boring and bland old music with one track that got popular and surrounded by filler.
