Reviews (page 7 of 7)
It was okay. I knew a song or two, but, the late 60s hippy folk scene doesn't butter my bread as much as others.
Spent most of my time while listening to this album figuring out whether I hated it or really hated it…..turns out I just hated it
Favorite tracks: Find somebody, It's love
It was ok for what it was. 60s pop is not my thing
This sounds like a cross between Parquet Courts and the Wiggles, but without the best parts of both. I am sure at the time it was a great record, but it now sounds cliched. There’s a couple of well-known tracks here, but a lot of filler.
Silly, schlocky 60s pop ... except for maybe "You Better Run" (if you get a chance, check out the Pat Benatar cover with the Neil Giraldo guitar solo).
Fun album very 60s clearly influenced the monkees and the partridge family. Happy music rock indie psycadelic to the bare minimum. Good musicians. To peace and love and commercial for my taste. Just to think that black sabbath was starting at that same time shows the record was a formula to like to the people.
Inoffensive boring and utterly forgettable
Much of this is middling tripe. Some of the more psychedelic songs are kinda cool, but why do I feel like they never even really took acid?
Yet another forgettable album that I will not be coming back to
They sound so innocent for being Young Rascals.
The songs were boring and it was like several versions of the same song. Nope.
Not for me
Nothing about this stands out to me. Love the name though.
I mean. It's fine, I guess. It fits perfectly into like "60's pop that I expect to hear on in the background somewhere because it's completely inoffensive" and I guess really it's a 2.5 but I'm rounding down. Sounds like I made a good choice in listening to the mono version.
The title track is nice. The rest didn't really engage me much.
I really could make a better list than this. This one’s not terrible, but again, apart from the single, don’t think it’s important to hear this. A hit single does not a good album make.
Incredibly forgetful
It was okay, not something I'd listen to and wouldn't listen to it again.
With a name like 'The Young Rascals' I was expecting something a bit more adventurous. This is safe twee music. Groovin' is catchy but the rest is trite. They certainly weren't looking left to see what The Beatles or the Rolling Stones were doing.
About as 60s as you can get.
This is one of the ugliest album covers I've ever seen. The album itself is mediocre and bland, but goddam is this a horrible cover.
Quite catchy Americana but too ooky for me.
Dec ig
Ok. Kind of that old school pop sound.
Had not heard of this group or album before. Some catchy songs, but nothing that stood out or felt different from a lot of the early rock bands of the same era.
2.45
Gradevole, nulla più. Non so nemmeno se rientri nella definizione di psichedelia, perché sono molto soft
The four freshmen grow up a little.
Just kind of feels like their trying to be the Beatles. Inoffensive but it all kinds melds together. 2.5/5
Groovin’ //
fine
Generic 60s. Not much to hold my interest but I didn't turn it off.
This whole album just drips with proto-disco, lounge-lizard, macho guy sleaze. There was one really solid track ("You Better Run") but, other than that one track, there's nothing here that's worth your time.
Was hoping the rest of the album would be as good as the beginning. Nope.
Some of the worst mixing I've heard on a record. A totally forgettable pastiche of many other better bands from the 1960's. 2/5
This was a pretty weird mix of styles and sounds between tracks. While nothing (except for I Don't Love You Anymore) sounded really atrocious, there was nothing that sounded particularly convincing either. It all just sounded kind of watered down, bland, smoothed around the edges. No personality of its own - certainly not a must hear album.
Niet heel slecht, wel heel misplaatst. Zoveel betere muziek gemaakt in dit decennium die er niet in staat.
Are these supposed to be boy bands before boy bands were a thing? I’m just not a big fan of these types of groups. “Groovin’” wasn’t bad. Which is the name of the album so I assume that’s their best work on here. It was. 4/10
From the first song I thought this was gonna be something special, but nah. Mid song after mid ass song. At least this was only 30 minutes :/
very few interesting songs. sounds like what i imagine was on any beatles influenced radio station in the 60s.
Very average album, too old, too basic, just not fun at all. Couldn't finish this album, it was too taxing on my brain. Not the worst on this list, but definitely not a great position.
Groovin is a great song about fucking
pleasant enough but that’s not enough to turn my crank baby
Allt i lagi california 60’s væl
Easy to listen to but not noteworthy.
Says nothing. Does nothing new. Totally inoffensive in every way. And a total bore. There was a lot going on at the time, any this band captured none of it. But at least it's short...
Blue-eyed soul. A perfectly cromulent album, but I'm unclear on why this is in here alongside the Motown and Stax stalwarts. Maybe this is the specific, idiosyncratic lens that translated the sounds of Black soul to mainstream music, but it seems unremarkable, otherwise. I won't revisit it and wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless I learn some earth-shattering context about these guys. This is just thirty minutes of not displeasurable noise from 1967. Summary: better than Pat Boone or nails on a chalkboard (the two compete mightily).
groovin' is a pleasant listen--and from the sixties, to no one's surprise. i didn't find it much different from other sixties music, though, and it felt rather average as a result. the (young) rascals created decent enough music in groovin', but it wasn't enough to create something legendary or even remarkable. legitimately, i have no idea why these guys are in the rock and roll hall of fame.
Probably the most interesting thing about this album is that it's mostly got that typical 60s psychedelic Beatles-y vibe, but then BOOM, all of the sudden you're randomly hit with Groovin' (the song). Groovin' sounds and feels like it could have been released by one of the great soul masters of the time. Supposedly, soul was kind of their "thing", but Groovin' (again, the song) was undeniably their biggest success in the genre. It's a brief 2 minutes and 30 seconds before the album goes back into the previously mentioned psychedelic vibe. You can catch hints of the soul sound in short little moments throughout the other songs that are mostly dominated by that attempt to be more like the Beatles. It's honestly kind of odd how it all shakes out, albeit still baseline enjoyable. Also a brief note on "You Better Run": I had no idea this wasn't a Pat Benatar original song. She has such presence and attitude that lends such believability to the song, it's easy to see it as "her" song. Here, it's really hard to take it as seriously coming from these guys. Do I REALLY need to run? In any case, it's cool to learn something here. Anyway, this album is fine, but pretty average when compared to the abundance of groups and bands that utilized this sound during the time.
that was definitely an album of generic 60’s rock.
60s pop by numbers
Album didn’t really do much for me. Good Lovin obviously their hit. But I will pass.
Va spent på detta, men blei i grunn litt skuffa
Reminded me of early Beatles, like a lot of these albums I thought the first song was really promising and then it lost its was as it progressed. Never heard of the young rascals, this album list has shown me there are far more Beatles copycats than I was aware of. It was pleasant enough, there were some nods to other genres here and there, no need to come back.
This didn't do much for me. Feels like some pop group that were trying to jump on the Beatles band wagon. Certainly wouldn't be calling it rock or psychedelic rock as this site suggests. Definitely pop for me. Too fluffy. Nothing here I'll be going back to or remember
Groovin' is a good song... thats about it on this album
A soul-like album by The Young Rascals, that didn't really give much in my opinion. It sounds like a teeny bopper album that would have been listened to by people going to social dances where they would get to interact with the opposite sex, but then told to leave room for Jesus whilst dancing together. Perfectly fine for it's time but doesn't fit in with the world of today. Best: A Girl Like You Worst: You Better Run
I dunno, maybe I'm not in the best mood for reviewing today but I like the music when I actually register it but mostly it's sinking into the background and I'm not hearing it at all. I thought it got significantly more interesting and good towards the end but it had actually finished and gone onto the next Spotify suggestion... bad signs.
Unremarkable, but competent 60s pop.
Meh
I have a hard time seeing this as being an essential album. Perfectly listenable but there are so many other artists that have made so much more interesting music.
The first couple songs were solid, good rock tunes for the time, but then the rest of the album was all over the place. I think my biggest surprise was to see You Better Run and Groovin. You Better Run was remade by Pat Benetar and was of her bigger hits. Groovin is what I consider a R&B tune. I think of Aretha Franklin's version only to be more surprised her version was released AFTER the Rascals. And another surprise to me was this album hit #7 on the R&B charts. Huh, really? Either way, pretty cool to see music cross generations and genres. Favorites off the album were A Girl Like You, Find Somebody, You Better Run and Groovin. Wasn't quite my thing but was OK to listen to a couple times. I am happy they waited to put the flute stuff in the last song. Something about trying to input the flute into some of this music drives me crazy. I can't help but think of Ron Bergundy. I'm going to give a 2.5. Bonus .25 for putting out versions in Spanish and Italian, but I'm still not going to give that 3rd star on the scoreboard. 2.75 but will mark as a 2
Blandish 60s rock - not sure it should be on this list. I had heard the name, but never listened to them. Now I know
You Better Run is the best song on the album. Pat Benatar's version is better. If you're best song on an album was done better by another artist, chances are your album isn't very good.
Meh
Knew the hit, wouldn't have been able to name the band though, maybe now I'll remember it. Another of it's era albums though. Heard worse. Only got the mono version on Apple music, not sure stereo would've made a massive difference though.
Estuvo ok, pero solo me quedo con una canción: Groovin'
В целом довольно невзрачный альбом, но есть несколько НО: 1. очень много жанров внутри, но абсолютно не разрушена целостность альбома 2. хочется выделить If You Knew, You Better Run и A Place in the Sun; классные треки 3.
Groovin' is the third album by American rock band The Young Rascals. It was a popular release for the band as the album and the title track charted well. This album also showcased the band's first steps into the psychedelic genre that they would explore further on later albums. Overall, this was a great rock album from the late 60's that lets a listener hear the early styles of rhythm and blues and the newer style (at the time) of psychedelic rock.
Like a poor man's Beatles... without the killer riffs.
Did we really need another Beatles ripoff in 1967?
Meh, kinda boring. Grooving was OK. Not my style. PS - Search for "The Rascals" on Spotify not "The Young Rascals" to see the full discography.
Not my favourite
Typical 60s pop. Nothing special, I think I recognized the title track Groovin'
Dull as dishwater. Such a fruitful decade full of pop in its pomp and drug fuelled experimentalism and all the Young Rascals can provide are generic 3 min long filler tracks
Just not my back, man. Sure it was rad if you were there at the time.
easy listening, not particularly inspiring, but not particularly offensive.
Wow, that cover is...unsettling...After listening to this I'm not sure why it's on this list. It's alright and has a few good songs, but it doesn't seem particularly innovative or influential. Sounds like a load of other 60s bands that came before them!
I recognized a few of the songs from listening to oldies stations when I was younger. I didn't hate this but it didn't really do much for me either.
It wasn't awful
Kinda fun and soulful but lacked a certain something to hook me in
Wasn't awful, but not my thing.
No
Took a while to listen properly but it grew on me a little. Not enough.
Find Somebody is cool... but did it really need that opening chord? Come on. It's not the exact one, but it's surely intended to evoke it. Which feels like the theme for the album really. Evoking music rather than creating it. Like darts aimed at the commercial dartboard. Lets make music that sounds like other hits so we can make some money. Maybe then we can afford to hire an album-cover artist who has seen humans before. It worked to a degree. Most of the songs are fine. A lot of this feels like movie soundtrack stuff. Want to evoke an era without using a song that is too well known? This album would be a gold mine for that. Not really worth listening to in it's own right though.
It's fine, but in a couple of hours I'm going to forget I ever listened to it.
This album seems... fine. It's doing a good job of making me nostalgic for the 60s music my parents had on when I was younger, but I'd much rather be listening to The Beatles, The Monkees, The Beach Boys, or any number of other bands.
Meh
Pretty good pop from the mid 60s. A bit garage (although a bit polished for my taste), and a bit psychedelic (although , again, not as much as I would prefer). 8 of 11 songs were released a single,s which speaks to the strength of the album. But the Beatles, it ain't. "How can I be sure" is a great song, although I prefer the Dusty Springfield version. "You Better Run" is a the most rock track on the album, which has almost enough grit for my taste. I will never listen tot his record again, I'm sure.
Okay
Kinda boring 60s pop that very occasionally pushes its boundaries towards something interesting for a brief moment.
Yawn. Super sweet pop rock that didn't do much for me. Production was good though.
Another 60s rock album that I probably didn't need. It was fine.
There is nothing overtly offensive about this album, but I find it offensive. It’s as if Find Somebody exists because they discovered that one could have the guitar play in the left ear then the right then the left again, ya know stereo. Maybe that was a big deal in 1967, but it sounds archaic as hell now.
I'm not particularly enamoured with the songs, though the sound of the recording is fantastic.
I had higher expectations going into this album...expecting a poppy turned psychedelic album all mish mashed together...it is there...and Groovin' is one of those songs everyone knows, but overall not a lot for me to go back and revisit.
Bland blue eyed soul
Lacks substance
This was not good. There is so much better 60s pop music than this. Beatles, Zombies, Monkees, all much better than this. Groovin' is a classic track, but that's about all this album has to offer.
Best Song: Sueno. The Spanish inspired instrumentals helped alleviate the otherwise dated quality of the record. Worst Song: If You Know. Real school choir vibes coming off of this one. Overall: This is part of the sweet, cliched romance cohort of 60s music. Even when they sing "I don't love you anymore" it sounds like schoolkids who have broken up at lunch and will be together again by recess. I think this genre of forced wholesomeness has aged quite poorly, even if the music is (occasionally) groovy.
First thought on seeing the cover: this can't be good. I mean it's actually called just "Groovin". We'll start at 0/5. First thought on hearing the music: not as psychedelic as expected. Just annoying in that 60s pop way. I guess I'll have to settle for 1/5. Final thoughts: thank fuck that was only half an hour. It was every wimpy genre available in the mid 60s, covered in extra wimpiness. 2/5 because 1 seems too nasty a score for it.
This seems to be typical early to mid 60s music. It was ok.
Apenas para conhecer.
I wouldn't call it a must hear...
Never heard of this group. They have every trapping of late 60s hippie rock, and we'll done production. But sheesh the lyrics are trite.
Wouldn’t turn it off if it came on shuffle but wouldn’t seek it out.
Album came and went. Don't remember much about it.
Very much a product of and reflection of the times. It's good to hear these kinds of albums as samples of their generation and culture. Not music I'll personally return to, but I understand its place as an artifact.
2.5
A Girl Like You is a pretty fun little song. I like the psychedelic rock influence on Find Somebody. All the songs after that are boring and forgettable though. A Place In The Sun is the worst one, it just drags on for too long
Pretty solid churned out 60's funk/groove. Doubt I'll be rushing back to it and tbh I can't really remember most of it. Bounced along OK at the time though.
What an awful album cover. The music is okay and I enjoy the 60s production but there is something missing that would make this album great.
First track was very good, but then the rest.... I don't know what happened. For me it got back on track only in the end. "You Better Run" is amazing, my favorite track of the record by far.
Bit boring, obvious Monkeys/ Beatles pretender
Maybe this is some of the best of 60s pretty pop, but it’s still something I find hard to find things to latch on to. A Girl like You is a cool arrangement. You Better Run, too. But overall pretty meh. A pop band trying to bite soul.
Pleasant enough, but probably won't be going back.
Also ran.
I’m sure their parents and girlfriends at the time would say they were just as good as The Beatles but couldn’t get a fair shake since they weren’t from England. Yeah right.
This album gives the impression that the 60s were an innocent happy time when the sun shone everyday. But then they had the Vietnam war, several high profile political assassinations, the Cuban Missile crisis, etc so it wasn’t all just Beach parties with Gidget. Most of the album is pretty plain vanilla and not very exciting, except Groovin’ which is a real standout, You Better Run is also good.
yeah. okay. fun. but it was the 60's. it had to be fun.
A Girl Like You is a pretty strong start. How Can I Be Sure is one I've heard a hundred times. But this also feels a little like it's standing in the shadow of the Monkees and it doesn't quite have the personality to break out on its own.
ku være bedre
This lp has a lot of big hits.. more misses tho Jebiga.
Tracks 4-6 are solid, but the rest is bad blue-eyed soul. Don't cover Stevie Wonder if you can't hang. Best track: Groovin'
Nah. This is the kind of '60s feel I don't like. Wispy voices, plinky guitars, and a general sense of blah over all of it, even the stuff meant to be cheery.
some of the songs were "fun" but I didn't really like the album.
“The Rascals (initially known as The Young Rascals) was an American rock band, formed in Garfield, New Jersey, United States, in 1965.” No, me neither.
Generic 1960s pop, nothing seemingly groundbreaking for the time, not my favorite genre of the decade.
Pretty typical 60s rock
Boring. 4/10
Might have been great at the time, but listening to this today I find absolutely nothing of interest in the album.
It sounds very "Summer of Love", but it's a lot less interesting than most of the heavy releases from 1967. I mean, at least add a sitar or something
Decent Beatles-esque LP, though a bit forgettable
Not was what I was expecting from the name/cover. Bit of a mixed bag of all kinds of genres. Who is this band and what was their influence?? Opening song sounded a little like Motown. Pop/Soul. Second song was more what I was expecting - vaguely psychedelic influenced 60s rambling pop/rock with too much tambourine/shaker. Next song is like a sweet beatles/monkees pop song. Anyway it continued with a roulette-like random sprinkling of genres and influences, and I didn't even know their "hit"
Eh, unremarkable.
nhe forgettable 2/5
Pleasant enough. Soulful. Fine when it's on, just forgettable when it's off. Some of the worst album art I've seen. Favorite tracks: "Groovin'", "You Better Run"
You better run is a banger.
You can't expect pitch perfect production from a record that is almost 50 years old, but what I did expect still somewhat dissapointed me. The vibes are friendly and the melodies are harmonious, though besides Groovin' there is not a lot of memorable material on here. 2/5.
I give it a 2 Wont go back to listen again.
nice soul/blues vibe from the start of the record. I really like the instrumentals on the first song. The mixing on the second song seems off. As the record progresses, it gets less interesting, and the vocals don't seem matched for the instrumentals.
Album is all over the place. I'm hearing (Revolver) Beatles, Monkeys, Chicago, Jeff Airplane, even Burt Bacharach. Best song definitely "You Better Run" though Pat Benetar does it better.
Not feeling this. It’s fine. Just not really into love songs or songs about relationships. It’s just played and goddamn there are sooo many songs about the subject. There are some cool production moments on this thing for the time that were rad. And I appreciate how they pull influences from psych rock and blues but overall it’s just not for me.
Never heard of then and thought I’d missed out on a good 60’s band, but I haven’t. Wasn’t fussed on this at all
No me ha parecido tan bueno el álbum como para que esté dentro de esta lista. Tienen un par de temas destacables, pero nada más para mi gusto.
There was a time in my life I'd have been all over this. That time is not now. I'm well down with the badly drawn album cover though. Some crazy arse action going on there. Makes me think of Vic and Bob.
un pelin aburrido
Ok
I like plenty of 60's bands, but this didn't do it for me I'm afraid
Groovy
It had several songs which were unavailable to play in my country. It wasn't a great shame. It was alright. Standard 60s shiz. Like SHACK shagging the chippy tranny.
Left me a bit cold this. One Motown song, one Blues song, one song that's a bit Beatles, one song that's a bit Beach Boys, one song that's a bit Love, one song that's a bit Serge Gainsbourg. None of them as good as the originals. Seems like they couldn't decide whose coattails they wanted to ride to the topper most of the popper most, so they grabbed a big handful of all the coattails.
It’s hard to take this music seriously. It’s charming, trippy, and makes me want to try hallucinogenics and give it another try.
Incompleto
Meh
4
Just ok. Nothing sticks out, but I liked it when I zoned out a little bit.
Kinda fun I guess. Didn't really stick with me.
false
Eh
Pretty groovy but nothing exceptional .
Felt like it was trying to be The Beatles for a few of the songs, didn't have much feeling in them.
Groovy !!
Nooooooooooooo
35 anfänglich vielversprechende Minuten, die im Verlauf der Platte immer zäher werden.
Not really for me, but not too bad. Wouldn't listen again though.
A lot of the record sounds like the opening theme for 70s/80s sitcoms. Which isn’t bad but not the best
A algunos les gustó y a otros no.
It's a straightforward (meant literally) collection of mostly-happy tunes. Feels like a collection of singles, front-loaded at that.
Ei
Young Rascals First Rascal "So are we gonna make this album soul, prog, R&B, psychedelia, garage, pop easy listening or flamenco?" Second Rascal "Yes" Third Rascal "Which are we best at?" Fourth Rascal "Oh......" What a flaccid collection of blue-eyed boy jizz this is. Best Track - Find Somebody Worst Track - How Can I Be Sure 1.5/10
Flojardo, casi me duermo
Bland sixties pop apart from groovin
You can safely judge this by the cover.
Guess you'd have a different opinion if you're a Usonian, for the rest of the world... this is just another Beatles wannabe band. Sometimes it sounds like a Beachboys thing but it really didn't do it for me. Kinda boring.
Forgettable, harmless 1.4
If baige was music
This Album is so pidly podley pop by numbers. So Baige, if you ever meet anyone who says this is their favourite album, just run.
In a nutshell: derivative psych soul You may know Good Lovin' or the title track, but that's all you need to hear. It's fine. Just... fine. Inoffensive. Overall: 2/10
★½
Man this isn’t even like oh yea it’s old gotta love the classics! Just boring. Definitely not deserving of the list. Like usual, not devoid of musical value but there really isn’t a single thing on here I would show to anyone or listen to again under really any circumstances. The art is bad too. Everything.
i detest the dearth of creativity in an album like this. this is derivative trend chasing with nearly zero originality. four bozos who heard the beatles and thought "fuck, we could do that too!" who produced this. simplistic garage rock guitar instrumentation with mediocre psychedelia elements in a broadly unappealing attempt at soul. throw in some flutes and an organ too because why not. it's not even that this album is technically subpar or that they can't at least sing decently, but i hate everything that this represents. this is not an album in conversation with its contemporaries; it is an album that merely echos the innovations of others. had i heard this released today i might've assumed it was generated by suno.
Fine I guess. I don't think I quite see the point. Seems like a pretty standard example of that R&B rock sound. I can't really determine what would make it particularly interesting to me
Not memorable, unique, or impactful. It's short, which is its most redeeming quality.
2 I liked like only one of the songs on this
Take a look at the album cover - all the clues are there It's called Groovin' Waistcoat, purple pants, bizarre shirt - victims of the 60's for sure Act on your gut feel - if you are still attrached to vanilla flavor 60's Monkey's wannabees, then go for it For everyone else, move on . . . quickly! This has no place in the 1001 best albums of all time
Tää on kyl varmaan geneerisintä 60-luku hoilausta mitä ikinä kuullu
Not for me. 1/5
Not really my thing
No idea why this album is featured. Some generic, boring sixties band, like many others.
Needless cover versions done better by other artists. The sound is good but so is birdsong or cows mooing. Both are preferable to this mush.
Ohne of a million! 60er-Sound ohne das besondere Extra!
2/10
Like someone took the worst of The Beatles, The Beach Boys and The Monkees and threw them into a blender. Garbage 60s pop.
Generic late 60s boomer-dad pop. There are a ton of bands that sound like this. Most of them are better.
Not my jam. Couldn't finish it. 1 Star.
This is just background music. Nothing really exciting.
Haven't heard of them before. Huh, that was a whole bunch of nothing 1/5
oh lord no
1. girl - 1.5 2. find - 1.5 3. happy - 1 4. zueno - 1 5. zure - 1 6. groovin - 1.5 7. kneuu - 1 8. love - 1.5 9. run - 1 10. zun - 2 11. love - 1
Not too groovin.
Shit
Meh
i get weird vibes from this. asides, nothing horribly bad but entirely forgettable (which is worse)
Just more generic 60s pop rock. When will it end....
Ugh. Outside of You Better Run (later to be covered by Pat Benetar) this album is a fat turd. Delete this one and make room for Bill Withers on the list.
Offensively inoffensive
Replacement level 60s soul pop with all the edge of the Sesame Street house band.
Nope
on dirait qu'il n'y a qu'une seule chanson sur yt. bon ça suffit largement 1/5
Forgot it was playing, so pleasant enough background music I suppose
Unlistenable for me. Some groovy moments, but not to my taste.
полный мусор без хитов. так один хиток есть. если бы я купил этот альбом я был бы разочарован
This album is corny as hell. It sounds like a half-assed, wannabe version of so many other good bands of the era. Just do yourself a favor and go listen to The Kinks or Smokey Robinson & The Miracles instead. I hope this album being on the list means that I'm not going to have to listen to the Monkees eventually as well. Listening to this album was a chore, and started to make me doubt my commitment to completing this list.
Really didn't enjoy... Quite boring and trying to be soulful, but failing (for me!)
Completely forgettable.
There was one song I didn't mind but it ended up going on for far too long and I grew to dislike it. A bit of a bore, won't be going back.
This was awful, sounded like a shit version of The Beatles.
1/5 very bad, has some listenable tracks
Nothing special
This album is like eating stale tortilla chips. It's not technically the worst experience, but just kind of a nothing gained, nothing lost experience. I believe that being completely devoid of interest is the largest mistake a piece of music could succumb to. If something tries to accomplish something but fails, at least there was an effort to do something greater, while this album just feels like something that has been created, and I have no dislike or like for it. The only issue I have so far (not the creator of the website's fault, rather the author of the book's) is that they seem to think old = better. While this may be partially true, I think there should be less of a bias towards older music.
More old music that's on here because everyone has heard the song Groovin so obviously the entire album is so special you must hear it, right? Right? Nope. Just the same boring and bland old music with one track that got popular and surrounded by filler.
Ow that was painful
Perfectly pleasant but not something that I’d play again
Dull
The fabulous sound of the Golden Hour from Wonderful Radio One. There was landfill before indie and this was it.
Is this really what white boomers were listening to?? I feel embarrassed for them.
Weird use of stereo on second song.
Meh. Sounds like a typical 60s Beatles ripoff. The title track was good and that's about it.
Mñe
Boring!
Really not feeling this - like musically and vocally it's fine but it's so outdated? Like a knockoff of The Beatles? Did not finish, just not interesting to me 1/5
Classic oldies sound. Listenable. Not craveable.
