1001 Albums Summary

Right when the song comes on, whew, soulful. Makes you want to start dancing. two songs in, and this is a long one. 4 tracks and but each track is extensive. I dig track 2. This last track is very long. Mostly talking. So far the standout tracks are 1 and 3.

I don't even need to listen to this album. This is by far one of my favorites The Beatles albums and one of my favorites ever. Every song on this is a masterpiece. The way they close out the album with the medley and in the end. so good.

Excited to listen to this. Never really heard this album fully. Welcome to the Jungle is such a classic rock song. One Out ta get Me. Other songs between this song and Jungle were alright. Nothing special. At this point, this album just becomes a classic. I am not too big of a GNR fan but when you listen to an album like this one, you know why it is a classic.

Sweet! Looking forward to listening to this album. Truly never heard this album at all. So far I really dig it. Ironic I have never listened to this album, but these first couple of opening tracks have a familiarity to them.

This album is already so legendary. I love the white stripes, not a long-time fan but definitely respect Jack White and his musicianship. Such a good album

I love this album! Such a classic. So much nostalgia with this album. I remember when I heard this album for the first time. I was blown away. The two vocalists back-and-forth. Singing, rapping, screaming. It was amazing at 16. RIP Chester. A Place for My Head best song on the album

Interested in listening to this. Honestly NEVER heard of this guy. This is country. I don't like country. This is old school country. Gotta check this out. Omg this reminds me of my Papa, my Dad's dad. I believe this is what he would be listening to when I was a kid. Most likely won't be able to get through this whole album. we'll see. 4 songs in and I definitely remember this album, even these songs playing in my Papa's car driving around SF. Alright I'm done, got through almost the first 7 tracks. Pretty classic country. Too slow and soft for me. I am more about the Johnny Cash type of country.

ooooo. I like. I have never sat down and listened to Bjork. I do know how legendary she is. Exactly what I thought. Very obscure. So good though. 3 tracks in. The track "There's more to life than this" reminds me of Daft Punk's A lot of this reminds me of Daft Punk. Very cool album.

Truly have never heard of this guy. Don't listen to country-folk. I'll see how long I last this one. I do have a friend that reminds me of this music who has his own band. I respect this type of music, really all kinds of music. This is just not my type. I stopped it after 3 tracks. Couldn't really listen to it anymore. I enjoyed what I heard.

Truly never heard of Calexico. More folk. this is another interesting artist. not one I would go out of my way to listen to but it's crazy but I can hear a lot of my favorite artists in some of these songs as if they were influenced by this artist. Not sure how much longer I will be able to listen to this.

I've heard of this artist. I am actually excited to listen to this. Never heard this album before. i knew his name was familiar. I saw him at a local music fesital, Outside Lands. watched him a bit. I totally dig this record.

Definitely one of my favorite albums of all time. I don't give this album enough spins for my ears. I need this on my rotation a bit more. Classic effing album.

This is my all time favorite album of any band. This is by far a top 3 album for me. This album is just perfect. So many different styles they play. You can really tell by this point who wrote what song. This is 5 star easy!

Never really listened to anything by Brian Eno. I know of him. This is mostly instrumental music, sounds more like samples and other songs for background. pretty cool so far.

Truly never heard of this artist. right off the bat, this shit is as psychedelic as it gets. wow. Just reading they are Brazilian which makes sense for the many instrumentation happening. Very interesting music. Gives me a Sgt Pepper's vibe with a The Birds mixed in.

I remember when this got released, I was just diving into his discography, starting to really get into him years before. I thought this was a very interesting album at the time, especially coming out of what I knew of his earlier stuff. I really dug this album.

Very cool. Never heard of these guys. and honestly by the name of their band, thought this was some 60's rockabilly/blues band. This is very punk. I've heard On A Rope track. I believe it was in a video game. It's cool/. Very San Diego-punk.

Definitely know about this album and artist. But really never have listened to this album at all, really only know the singles. And this album came out the year I was born. I can see how big this was especially in the mid-80's.

I'm not tis huge Eminem fan nor do I listen to him constantly but this album is so nostalgic for me. I do like it. It's a classic hip-hop album now. I feel like a lot of rappers these days try to re-create their Slim Shady LP. was not successful

Don't know anything about this artist. Interested to hear what they sound like. At first glance thought it was going to be 80s. But saw it was mid-90s. Right off the bat, definitely from the mid-90s. Typical rock from the 90s. Sounds like a poor-man's-Hole. I know the track Connection. Definitely remember this track. Pretty mid to me. Nothing spectacular, not my kind of rock either.

Short record but a classic for Bowie. With Golden Years

Would've never thought this was 90's electronic. Roni Size, right off the bat, to me, reading the name of the band, sounds like 60's soul, or big band. The first track reminds me of Gorillaz. Very cool. Not intense.

I don't even want to call this classic this is just pure rock & roll. love this. I know what Buddy Holly sounds like so had an idea of what this could sound like but never sat down to really listen. Some good rock & roll.

I love this album. Not sure if it's their best. Definitley probably a top-3 album of theirs, in my opinion.

I know of her and know how legendary she is in her own right, with songwriting. Never really listened to much of her stuff. A couple tracks in, this is pretty good. Listenable. Some good tunes. I dig it.

Never heard of this artist. Interesting right off the bat. At first thought it was the Death Metal band Pentagram. Then reread it and saw it was not. Interesting folky a bit. Cool Stuff.

Their debut album is so different than any of their other stuff. Makes me think of The Beatles initial releases. Very poppy. Great stuff. Not the Rolling Stones I dig but I know of this album

I know of Fiona, I know how legendary she is in her own right. Not much of a fan of her music, too slow for me. I definitely know a track of hers but haven't really heard much of her stuff. These are good songs too. The first half of the album better than I thought.

I know Morrissey. a little too emo for me. go figure. but Morrissey or the Smiths was the beginning of Emo. at least imo. I was not a huge The Smiths or Morrissey fan but respect what they do. Truly never heard this album. I respect it just not for me

Same with Lana. I respect her music and what she brings but her stuff is too soft and slow for me.

Would have never expected a Sepultura album be in this. I do know how big this album is. I have never really heard it. I know max mostly from Soulfly. I dug Soulfly a bit but never heard much of Sepultura.

I know these guys now. I heard another one of their albums on this list. Not my cup-of-tea but I'll listen to some of this.

It's this album! I always remembered seeing this album in the best buy and Target sales papers that we'd received in the mailbox. I knew he was soul r&b but at the time this was not my style of music to listen to. I highly respect this style of music now and will happily check this out. Yeah, this is good.

Never heard of this artist/band. Interested hear what they sound like. Interesting music. I can see how this could be a part of this list. Very good musicianship and songwriting. This reminds me of something I could hear from Buckley or artists similar.

This album is a little more welcoming and ear-tasteful than other stuff I have heard from Morrissey. Maybe a little more the smiths. than his solo stuff. Pretty good so far. Yeah, this is a good album.

I got these guys mixed with the Isley Brothers. Thought it was the black soul singers. I do know of these guys. I remember my grandparents playing this. Not my style but I respect it.

Oddly enough, I have heard these guys a lot but never really truly heard them. I don't even know if I have an idea of what they could sound like. I did not know they sounded like this, I actually thought they were a little more electronic not so live-band sound. The couple songs I heard were pretty good.

I've heard of this band but never really listened to them or checked them out. I know their history in Seattle, behind the grunge "movement". Kind of excited to check this out. Very cool stuff. I can see where the influence from Nirvana and all the other Grunge bands to follow came from.

I have started to listen to the Beach Boys albums a bit recently. The songwriting and harmonies are so good. This is a good record so far. I listened to the whole thing which is rare for me in this list.

I love this album by RHCP. It's hard to get back into these RHCP-era albums, after knowing the lead singer always had a much younger girlfriend. Definitely one of their best albums. Up there with Blood Sugar Sex Magik

this is the country that I will listen to. I love this style of country, I won't go out of my way but this is true country. Great record. Love the concept.

I actually thought this was a 60s-70s psychedelic band. Relative to a Grateful Dead. Way-off! 80s pop band. Never heard of this band. These guys are cool. Very poppy.

Oh yeah, this is one of those bands/albums that I have been wanting to check out since I am older and respect music so much more. I remember listening to these guys on the local radio station.. I dug every song that was played on the radio.

Never heard of this artist. The album cover looks familiar, unless I am getting it confused with another one that looks similar. The rapper sounds familiar. He may have a similar sound as another rapper I know of. I can see why this album is on this list. I have a feeling very influential.
