This album landed in the perfect time and place for guys born in the mid 80s. A classic nostalgia injection.

There is some nostalgia to this, but it is embarrassingly bad. The worst of their albums that I've heard.
The smiths are so fucking boring. Listening to this album was like hearing the Friends theme song 50 times in a row.

Sun, June 1 2025 Not a huge synth pop guy but interesting no less
Interesting to see this being the origin of many samples for songs in the 90s-00s
Great album, have always enjoyed this one.
Not much for jazz/lounge music
Cool sound
Not bad. Pretty well what i expected from the songs that I knew
I can see the concept and understand that it's important to the genre, just not my thing.
Great initial offering
Pretty boring. I don't know the history of edm but I'm sure this is important or something.
Great album. Love the harmonies and sound
Awesome early rock n roll album. Love the guitar work
This is one of his more annoying sounding albums
Aerosmith is not good. There were a couple ok songs on here but I don't and never will appreciate their sound.
I get it. This album was likely monumental at the time. I also loved the soundtrack for thief and the one with the car on the bridge. But these are way too long.
Cool live album
Great album. Very distinctive voice
I've always maintained that this album is overrated. Still holds true.
Im not sure ZZ top is anyone's favorite band. They are the textbook definition of average rock band
Pretty solid. Second favorite solo Beatles album
Not a typical beck album that I'm used to but a really nice chill sound. Would be a good driving around at night album
I had never heard of this. It's cheesy as hell. I can see how it influenced rammstein, but it is really not for me.
Pretty standard stuff for the 90s. Not sure I've listened all the way through before
I can see how this was premium boning music back in the day
Cool early album of theirs. Closer to kyuss than modern queens
Awesome album. Really cool groove
This is my favorite smashing pumpkins album. It is the essence of 90s music.
This album landed in the perfect time and place for guys born in the mid 80s. A classic nostalgia injection.
There are so many boring songs on this album.
This is an excellent album. Really cool early synth goes well with Numan's singing style. Great listen.
Lovely voice
The Doors are a little divisive for me. They have some of thr most boring bluesy rock songs ever, but then some of them are amazing. I like their songs that dive into psych rock a little better but this album only has one of those.
Cool sound, a little too old school British for my taste.
This album is almost perfect, aside from the gross oh daddy song
Much better than her later stuff
Not a great offering from Bowie. A little scrambled.
A little too soft and feely for my liking.
The soundtrack of adolescence. Not really very good, but interesting and nostalgic.
A classic by all accounts
A fun listen, 60s music is interesting to dig into
My favorite radiohead album. Classic 90s
There is some nostalgia to this, but it is embarrassingly bad. The worst of their albums that I've heard.
Started out strong but tapered off. Not bad though still.
Awesome album, great vibe
Never heard this before, I can see how it got lost in the mix during that time. Not bad overall though.
This album was either really boring or I just wasn't in the mood for it
Great voice
Early Iron Maiden pre- Dickinson is not great. Kind of slow and boring
Cool old sound
Classic
I am not sure who this is for
Loved this. Great mix of music.
Great album, I can see how heavily 'life won't wait' was influenced by this
Pretty standard 60s psych rock
Pretty laid back 70s album. Effortlessly cool
This is easily their best offering. Some real bangers on this one.
Caught somewhere between Nirvana and Weezer.
Great chill vibes
Possibly the best hard rock album of the 90s
Not bad, I am not nostalgic about this as I am about 2001 chronic.
Great vocal driven music. Lovely harmonies.
I'd like to re-iterate how irritating I find Aerosmith. This is one of the better ones but it's still not really good.
Pretty folksy
Better than blonde on blonde due to less whiny voice
This was great! Sounds like something the teacher would make the class listen to in Dangerous Minds or any movie like that.
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Great unique talent and sound.
This is the best beasties album, though it is difficult to choose just one.
Interesting voice and style but a little too far out
If we're picking genesis albums, this isn't the one. I appreciate the deep cuts and piano heavy rock songs but they have much better albums.
Classic album
I didnt think I'd know as many songs on this as I did. Great folk album.
Black flag has always been pretty one note to me. But when you're looking for it, it's great.
Great album. I wish more albums were made like this.
I thought i didn't like blur because I liked oasis more. Turns out I just dont like blur.
Masterful piece of work
More hits than misses, and more than I expected
Never got the hype
This is always an absolute pleasure to listen to
This is one of my favorite albums of all time
I can't imagine why this would be on any acclaimed list of any sort.
Almost a 5, some great tracks on here
This was mostly great. Love the guitar work.
This is the second dexys album I've reviewed. Completely different, much better and fun.
2 only because this isn't really my type of music. Im sure it is good if that's your sort of thing
What a great fucking album.
The hype around that one song is unfounded. Not even top 3 on this album. That being said, this is just fine.
A little too ethereal
How the fuck did two albums from these guys get on this list? This sounds like what my aunt would listen to if she was doing mushrooms for the first time
The origins of butt rock
This is in the running for the worst album on this list.
Possibly the best 2 song opening on an album ever.
The smiths are so fucking boring. Listening to this album was like hearing the Friends theme song 50 times in a row.
Classic
Interesting sound on this, not quite jazz but really fun. I dont hate it.
Production wise, it sounds fine. Like most albums of the time. Musically, it is so boring. Every song sounds the same. Good for her for making an album, but it doesn't hold a candle to her earlier works.
Really enjoyed this one
Unremarkable. Rod Stewart has a great voice in his early days
This is the first jazz album that i haven't hated. Lively and fun, not annoying jazz.
Great bluesy sound. Maybe their best?
This album is so long. Great bang for your buck, if you like the music. Unfortunately I did not for the most part.
This is elevator music.
This has to be one of the best debut albums of all time. Very few misses in the track listing. David Lee Roth's vocals and EVH's guitar prowess make this an all time great.
Incredible album. A top 10 for me. No notes.
I can't believe ive never listened to this front to back. Great flow, love this.
This has to be for someone, unironically. I dont get it. Maybe I'm too dumb but it's just kind of noisy in a bad way.
Fuck. This is the third fucking Aerosmith album ive encountered on this list and I am just not here for it. Aerosmith is low effort trash. They are the grandfathers of butt rock. Aerosmith dads give birth to puddle of mudd kids. Fuck Aerosmith.
There were 3 or 4 songs on this that were very good and enjoyable. The other 87 songs were pretty cheesy. Like on fresh prince when Ashley launches her singing career. It reminded me a lot of that.
This was great, I wish country music was still like this instead of the america loving pop garbage it is now
There was one song I enjoyed on this, it seems to be before they got their footing. I enjoy their later stuff much more, this was just noisy for the sake of it.
I have always found Chicago to be kind of boring
What a masterpiece from Alanis. This album is almost perfect.
I wish I hadnt listened to this. Really taints the water for Bowie.
Good listen, enjoyed thoroughly l
How the fuck did Stan Getz get 3 albums on this list SO FAR? I'm only at like 160 and I have had 3 of these elevator music albums come my way already. I got the gist of it after 2 songs from the first one.
At least it was interesting to listen to.
I'm not sure what's more embarrassing - linkin park now or linkin park when this came out.
Grateful dead has never interested me. I get it for the folks who enjoy the genre but they've never been my cup of tea
This was pleasant to listen to as I worked.
Interesting sound. Not as typical as other music of the time.
This is good in the way that it is just kind of ubiquitous. Its so ingrained in culture that I barely noticed i was listening to it.
Yeah I mean it would be ok for background music
Normally this would just get a 3, this album is OK. BUT based on impact to the music industry it gets a bump
The only thing wrong with this album is that it isn't long enough.
It's nice that they made an album specifically for late 90s action movies.
I was hoping this would be good, as I usually enjoy new wave albums with deep cool tracks. Really did not hit the mark for me
People love this album. I feel like it has been stomped into my brain so hard that it falls flat as shit now.
This album brings me back to a time where middling adolescents tried way too hard to be deep. To an extent, I enjoy the ethereal feel of this, but it really kind of just falls short due to the aforementioned statement. I will watch a life aquatic again though because of this.
Excellent album
Joe strummer is both underrated and underappreciated
Did they make this album for jungle birds??
This was actually quite lovely
This was surprisingly solid for a live album
Mom rock.
Not sure who this is for
Cool sound. Like UK classic rock
I dunno, depeche mode all sounds the same to me.
Unnecessarily ethereal
An important album
Not bad. I hated the jazz parts, but overall an interesting and eclectic mix of genres
Kind of boring for a reggae album. That being said, not terrible.
Interesting vibe
Not really my jam
Sure. This is fine.
What makes this album great is that the deeper tracks are also really cool songs.
It's much better than most music produced in the same era. Singer/songwriter seems like a thing of the past in the mainstream.
Pretty classic Costello album, always enjoyable.
I had never given this one much thought, but man, this is really good. You can see how she has influenced a generation of female led bands in a very heavy way. Great listen.
This is fuckin wack
This is the album that radiohead imploded in on itself.
Chill, need to be in the right mood for it
This is the most 60s British rock I've ever heard
Great album. Would be better if they had played more early stuff instead of their latest at the time. Still solid
This is a more annoying era of Joni Mitchell
What a great album. Love the tone on Brian May's guitar
Great voice
Fun 90s vibe, kind of middling for the era but still a good listen.
It's too bad they couldn't really put anything together after this. Great album
I can understand why I've never heard of this. Just a lesser album of the era. That being said, it is a lot better that most new music.
Very fun!
Boring as hell
Classic
Good songwriting for sure. Maybe a little on the bleak side for my liking.
Too jazzy
