Great music if you are in the mood for it. Jazzy, classic Sinatra in his peek. I will say it’s a bit redundant. Nothing ground breaking, just all time great crooning.
Of all the U2, not my favorite. Lots of hits but just too uninspired for my taste. Trying to be rock stars that they thought they were but out of their sweet spot.
Great record. Tumblin Dice is such a classic. I can appreciate that Keith was in love with the US Blues movement. Amazing riffs straight out of the delta.
Awesome album. Fantastic beats. This is why we listen to whole albums and not just “the hits”.
So good, so angry. Love the whole edgy vibe with a classic voice
Get to add context. Man was I surprised by how much I loved this album. Country boo, old Willie Nelson “on the road again” not a fan at all. This recording was great. Really touched me. Still country, but over all solid. 7.8
Fun music I had not heard of before
I get the historical significance… and is wild to listen to. Johnny Rotten was still a punk rocker and angry. Fun listen probably won’t pick it out again though.
I love fusion and crossover music. This was a bit too out there for me.
Boring British soft rock, was it Bowie, was it Oasis. Not my jam at all
Ugh - like being in a spa in the Caribbean (the piped in kind)
Great sample album and historically significant.
50s bebop. Some nice songs and some very familiar. Not Fade Away was the highlight. Lollipop Rock
Finally something I can connect to. Love her poetic flowing style of storytelling. Gonna tell my youngest about her. I think she’ll dig it
See ratings - good and pretty hard rock 6.0
1-2 crap
2-3 crap but I get why it’s on the list
3-4 close to music
4-5 good enough to get through without getting mad
5-6 hey it’s palatable
6-7 that was fun
7-8 well deserved to be listened to
8-9 classic, amazing
9-10 all bangers, perfection
Enjoyable to listen to. Nice background music, couple of sweet touching songs. Wouldn’t play it outright.
Super fun and songs I didn’t know I knew. Great 80s electronica
Closest to 5 stars. Amazing record. Great lyrics beautiful. Storyteller and drug user is apparent
Whoa! Awesome freestyle jazz. Bohnam studied part iii before he made Moby dick I would have to believe.
From now on it’s the BigMac system 1-10 scale with decimals allowed. 1 1-3.5, 2 3.6-5.0,3 5.1 - 7.0 4 7.1-8.5 5 8.6 and above. Hookworms were cool - plus was the beats minus was the lead singer beatings 7.0
Really fun, takes me right back to MTv days. It was cool to hear some newer songs, didn’t really appreciate their skills back then. War Pigs was a pleasant surprise, didn’t add much to the original, but I played it more than once anyway. 7.5
This is why I signed up! New artist to me and it’s amazing music. Quickly songs and song titles super talented musician. 8.7
Wow - looking back on my other ratings are still too high. It’s not perfect but I had a Perfect Day listening to it (groan). Great record great songs. You are missed Mr Reed. 8
Loved it! Life on Mars?, Queen B##ch, everything, so great. It was Bowie discovering who he was to me. Not just a musician, an entertainer and a storyteller. Rating 9.2
After reading reviews (not doing that again) I was worried. I liked this a lot. It’s rockabilly and punk mixed together I feel like. I thought sure they would at least be 80s but they were 70s. Cool sound and I had never heard it before. 6.2
Ozzy! Noooooo! Good timing for an amazing album and tribute to the Prince of Darkness. 8.0 - amazing solos and power.
If only for Hot For Teacher. Now Eddie! After Ozzie, suppose Prince is next on my list. This one is great. Takes me back. I dont care for I’ll wait and jump was overplayed for me. Other than that this one RIPS. 8.0
Good Jazz. Short album appreciate the history lesson. Beyond that it’s not for me. 4.6
Average jazz, which means fairly boring to me
Interesting. I thought I would like it more. I don’t think I like 80s electric pop. 4.1
Great to hear a trip hop band that was not on my radar. I love DeLa and Tribe. This is a great addition! 6.9
Eurythmics was disappointing. Echo was not. I think I like this probably because it’s early. Good not great but way more rock and guitar that I thought. 6.2
Thought it would be better. Boring to me - aside from Hello it’s the same song over and over again. 3.2
Bad electro synth. Actually not bad I just don’t care for it. Then most of it is in French, uninspired, and a pointlessly super long album. 2.8. Update: this aged well for me. Couple of songs at a time and it’s not dreck… 4.0
It’s fine. Nice bluesy rock album. I personally think Jim Morrisons legacy is bigger than his music. I could only envision him being propped up behind a mic and blurting out his ramblings. Then he would leave to go on killing himself. Sad really 5.6
Okish. Nice soundtrack music. Caught myself tapping me feet a couple of times 4.0
Really ok new music artist. Nice beats and attentive lyrics. Solid 5.3
Lou Reed is way more up my alley. This was noisy. Props for trying to break the mold. 4.0
Good stuff. Only a couple of familiar songs. I can put this on and just chill any old time. 7.4
Good stuff. Only a couple of familiar songs. I can put this on and just chill any old time. 7.4
Not even a great Neil Young album. Not sure how it can be top 1001. Time will tell but I’m not loving this merry go round. 5.0. Cinnamon Girl is the best song and I would rather hear any other of his big hits.
ok I guess. couple of keepers. 5.9 it gets better with multiple lessons actually.
I liked This album was so much better than white light/white heat super impressed. Now I know the allure of the Velvet Underground. The song heroine is brilliant produced by Andy Warhol is a super plus. 7.0
Nice mellow and fun tunes. Some greatest hits like the boxer and Cecilia along with some other songs I was not familiar with. Close to 5 star but not quite there 8.6
Thought I would enjoy. Blew me away. So good - all very listenable. Hard to believe it was 1979. Year of Disco and Disco Sux movements. Thoughtful lyrics, great variety, yet distinctively The Clash. Moves furthest up my list as far as great albums of anything else I have heard, by FAR, on this list. 9.2
Two excellent records in a row! Finally! This was absolutely great. I think I was a Paul Simon Greatest Hots guy until now. Great guitar, holy crap! 9.6
Gold Standard! Top 5. 10 of 10
Tooting my own luck here. 5 amazing albums after many, many, duds. Thank you 1001 generator for smiling on me this week! Time to change my medications back to I’m sane.
Billy Joel’s and mine best relationship by far. Thought out story telling that shows his timelessness. Really great compositions and piano. Voice that is iconic. Thanks Billy! 9.1
New codes: important building block of music development - IMD. for Band - BBB
Kinks Arthur: IMD, BBB
Pretty dang good. Great samples. Vocalist has a unique pretty voice to collaborate alongside the trippy beats. Better than I thought it would be. 6.9
Grew up listen to this. Perfect except Mother - should have added Murder by Numbers instead. 9.6
Winner! Grumpy Neil Young is fun. He’s fun when being dark. 7.1
No brainer! Top 5. Perfect album. Jungleland is an all time favorite song. Knockout! 10.0!
really fun. they sounded edgy but it was also very rhythmic. I don't think I will buy the album but I will turn it up when I hear them on streaming. 6.4
Really good, I would argue this is the "best" solo Beatles album. It's solid. Bonus points for My Sweet Lord - definitely in my all-time favorite songs list. 7.0
Another really good find. Nicely played reminds me of Edie B, Joni M, Natalie M. Just about as good as it gets. 8.0
So good. I’m not usually down with the experimental especially with no vocals. This just lived in me today. Maybe it’s my mood. I just jammed out to it all day. Also bonus hearing Iggy Pop version of China Girl. I was today years old when I learned he recorded it first. Thanks Spotify! 7.3
Joni - so fun playful and beautiful voice. Makes me happy! 7.0
Love Lorde, great record. I must question this list once again. Pure Heroine probably but man… this guy is super British. It would be on my favorites but don’t know why it’s on all time. Time will tell. 7.4
Fine 5.0. Last song that everyone hates is the best one.
I enjoyed it. Hard Rock and the back story was interesting. Not something I can just listen to all day. Decent though for a sitting or in a mix. 6.0
I have been very aware of this album for a long time. I dont think I ever heard any of it before. It's wild that I can only picture the the guy on the cover singing the songs. I just learned right now that he was in the Pixies band. Good wild short songs. I will give it multiple listens because I am barely getting in the groove and mood of the song and it changes. So far 5.6
Classic and I love it. Final tour in effect currently. Saw them at least four times live. The legend of Baba O'Riley, Won't Get Fooled Again, BBE, Seeker 9.0. Instant Classic! Who's Next is Who's Best.
Play better than the first I think I enjoyed it enough that I would go back and listen to common people again and maybe re-write nice work hope 7.9
Pretty good. Bunch of songs had a familiar beat. Almost felt like an homage band. 6.0
My karma must be way out of wack. If I get Boston in the next week I’m gonna do something drastic. Milketoast is not my preferred genre of music. Cultural significance in a pop sense I’ll allow it. Just barely 3.8
Might be my favorite all time. Heady headbangers. Intelligent chaos. I love it. 10
Yes it’s old timey folk music. I believe I heard the words dragon and bard. Ok some of it innovative mostly protest folk blah blah blah. He bore Jeff Buckley - extra 1/2 star!!! 4.6 boosted to 5.1
Wasn’t in the mood, then was in the mood. Good enough for me. 5.0
Jazz… Samba… exactly as described. My mood today didn’t match. 4.0
Not for me. Morrisey lyrics and singing style bores me. I could barely pay attention. 4.0
Odd to be on the list. Very generic and disjointed. 2.0
Fantastic! Punk pioneers pioneering! I rocked out the whole time. I might have to concede - Iggy Lou and Bowie might be my faves. In this age of whatever this is they remind to stick the finger up at conformity. 9.0
Wow - another one that hit me from out of nowhere. Fantastic! Trippy and musically sonic transportative. Love the all around vibe. Me likey! 8.9
Never did love never did hate. Great mix of well-known classics and obscure. 5.5
Great work Cee-Lo. He brings passion soul and a unique vocal. His harder energetic rap music is preferred. Great Listen - add to my list of favorites. 7.7
Great fun, takes me back! I’m mushy today so You are The Everything hit me in the feels. Stand is just fun. This is a BAND! Not just a singer with a backing band. 8.0
NOOOOOOO!!!! (I never really liked Boston. 5.0 because they are THE 5.0 band. Will listen and decide whether or not to modify. Its good music, same score.
More of the same, psychedelic rock is generic and boring to me. I can listen to a couple of songs at a time but it’s just not for me. Jazz of rock… 4.0
Oh boy. More-issey - again not into his style. Meat is Murder is better but it’s all eh. 3.2
whelp I guess I am resigned to psychedelic outdated rock and 80s emo whatever whatever... I hope the list improves soon. This has ONE good song... guess which one. They figured it out AFTER this one. That is why its on so many subsequent records. Nice try list would rather have Tommy or who Are You... 5.0 for cultural significance (under protest). Do better 1001...
Fine, nothing exciting. 5.0
Original: Jazz! 2 stars. I couldnt get it out of my head and I listened to it about 3 times then I bought the record in a used record store. my opinion changed... as ones does! 7.5
Better than the reviews. Funky wild crazy, really fun listen. I enjoyed the production also. Stereo production was used really well. 6.0
Great again. The Clash is really something. It’s elevated punk. Not just chords and anger. 7.7
Classic indeed. I love him and this was the album recommended my by dear friend and teacher Mr. Lehn. I was trying to listen to better music and he said this was one of the best of all time. He was right. Miss you bud!
Not bad . Brit Pop Under the Boardwalk. Again uneventful… 5.0
I dont care for this version of metal. It's Iron Maiden do 1/2 star for cultural significance. 4.0 plus .5
Good punk rock album. 16 and Getting Away from Pulsebeat were very listenable. 6.2
More emo pop jeeeesuuuus!
Good songs great voice were they covers? 6.0
Great voice iconic lyrics
Fine Dire Straights album. Sultans of swing 8 times! 5.0
Beautiful voice. Minimal accompaniment. Old timey good fun. 7.0
This is the kind of junk that makes this list tilted brit. I don't get this. It could be anyone from Harry Connick to someone in a NYC club who is down on his luck. cmon man do better... 3.0
this is to me the definitive Stones album. As good as they ever were. some hidden gems and some classics that are imprinted in my brain for ever. 5.0
Hits from my youth. Radio music to me 6.0.
Straight up country. Not my thing but the guitar was good. 3.8
Nice background noise not too 1001
Fine album. Subpar for classic Bowie. 6.0
Better than the first. Banged my head all the way thru! 7.0
Cmon man. Jammy nonsense. Maybe if I were there I would have had a good time. Unnecessary 2 hours of stuff. 3.0
Pretty good. Better talking heads albums in the world. 6.9
Something I hadn’t heard before that I will listen to again. 7.0
Way better than expected. Classic. Great lyrics nice tappable beats . 7.9999
Now this is great. I love it. 1969 I had never heard and I can’t stop listening to it.
Very non-threatening. I enjoyed it. Like all the background music that this list has provides.
Man I miss this guy. Really good and it ended up being his swan song. There is a lot of beauty in this. He always exuded confidence. It’s hard to imagine him being frail and vulnerable.
As good as it can be. This is what separates the boys from the men. It’s so utterly moving
I don’t know. Just not for me. Felt like a totally different language.
Bad folk music - Bob Dylan songs not recorded by Bob Dylan
Good, catchy. No hooks nothing heart stopping.
