BeckVery enjoyable, strong start with E-Pro.
Very enjoyable, strong start with E-Pro.
Easy 5 star
Surprisingly good, likely something I won't listen to again. Maybe pick out certain songs.
Difficult to rate, when this album came out I listened a lot to it. Not sure it has aged as well as some of there other Radiohead albums. I'm sure OK Computer is on this list and I would give that a 5 for sure. Will give this a 4 (partly for nostalgic sense). Jigsaw Falling Into Place favourite from the album.
Very much enjoyed, a solid 4 star compared to some of the weaker 4 stars so far. Would listen again and enjoyed most of the songs on the album. Particular shout out to the near 14 minute long Sex Machine.
Using the Bryn method of scoring this has to get a 5. An album that I would listen over an over again. No filler in my view, outside the most famous songs I quite enjoy Rocket Queen and Think About You.
First time I have actually listened to this album all the way through. Outside of Bat Out of Hell, nothing too exciting from my perspective. It was fine and enjoyable at times, I probably wouldn't go through the whole album again.
There are some good songs in here, but the covers are better. The Bob Dylan voice isn't for me. 2 star on the basis that there are some ok songs in here.
Enjoyed but not to shout about. I do like some post-hardcore (at the drive-in being my favourite) but this was very average for me.
Haven't listened to a whole Talking Heads album before. Very enjoyable, the big hit with Once in a Lifetime. Overall a solid album and I would listen again.
The lyrics are pretentious trash. Instrumentally I don't mind it. Not sure how to rate this one, if it was just the instrumental aspects I would happily listen to it in the background. However the problem is once he opens his mouth. Subject to editing I will put this as a 2 star .
Found this another tricky one to rate. Ultimately I have gone for a 4 star. Some crackers on here, particular favourites being Janie's Got a Gun, The Other Side and What It Takes. There is some filler in my view. Great combination of Aerosmith's early blues with the more hard rock and glam rock. I was in between 3 and 4 star possibly because I prefer their more bluesy early stuff from their self titled album, Get Your Wings and Toys in the Attic. I suspect they will be somewhere in this list.
Bit meh. I didn't find it offensive, but not something I would actively listen to.
Gone for a 3, may drop to a 2 on reflection but this was better than others that I have voted a 2. No bangers, but solid throughout.
Nothing really offensive, just not really for me. At times the songs phased into one. The most dramatic thing was the scream mid-way through the last song.
Very much an enjoyable listen. Have listened to this album a few times before as well and I don't get bored by it.
It is fine. Some well known songs but not something I would listen to in full. In terms of the Beatles, prefer some of the later albums.
At times a wall of noise but there was a lot of variety and surprises in there. Some I like, some I didn't. Can't remember the name of any songs but a solid 3 from me.
Don't know what to make of this album. I did listen again and it grew on me a little and maybe it will further listens. For now a 2 star.
Actually listened to this album a fair few times when it came out. It is an enjoyable listen and there are highlights with Intro, Crystallised and Night Time. There is a bit of filler and not quite 4-star worthy. Solid 3-star.
Pleasantly surprised by the album. My reference of UB40 is pretty much Red Red Wine so didn't have expectations. However enjoyed it with the highlight being Food for Thought. Will go 4 stars now subject to a possible downgrade.
Largely a random array of sounds and wailing. Butchered I Heard It Through The Grapevine as well.
I really enjoyed this, not an artist I have listened to before. Good mix of genres and felt the album flowed well together. Faster and Tightrope were my favourites. The only negative from me is that I felt towards the end the album started to tail off. However, going for 4 stars.
Just generally boring. Nothing offensive there and you can leave it on the background. Spotify kept playing and I had no idea it started another U2 album.
Great album, after U2 we needed improvement. Have heard a bunch of these before and really enjoyed listening to the whole album.
A difficult one to rate for sure. The album and Run DMC have significant influence into how modern Hip Hop and Rap has been shaped (along with the creation of rap rock), however the album itself doesn't have many highlights and a simple beat in each song. Rock Box is the standout for sure, the influence in creating and inspiring Rap Rock is of course important, however it is also just a really good song. I will go for 3 stars on balance.
Best way to start off an album, an 11 minute mostly instrumental song. Very much enjoyed the album. A very strong start in terms of the first 4 songs, did tail off a bit and therefore a 4 star.
Have listened to this album many times before, enjoyed it then and still enjoy it now. In the first instance you would think it is some wanky french-canadians wailing pretentious indie which to an extent it is, however the album is solid and there are some big highlights with Ocean of Noise and in particular My Body Is A Cage.
This is filthy rock, but I like it. Overall I prefer the self titled debut and Funhouse as complete albums. There are some great songs on this album with Raw Power and Gimmie Danger being two of them. Search and Destroy is just epic.
Nothing too offensive about the album, just a bit bored and not something I would listen to again. It felt long for a 40 minute album.
Not the best Radiohead album, however reasonably solid throughout. A few highlights in the album.
Nothing offensive. Don't understand why this is on the list, very average.
It is ok, happy to have it on the background. Two Weeks, one of those songs you hear on adverts and TV shows and you only find out who it is by from this.
Very enjoyable listen. Good Golly Miss Molly and Proud Mary being highlights for me. Nearly a 5-star, there were a few songs that were just ok from my side.
Looks like a solid run of albums and this was very much a good one. I would however say first two songs and last two songs crackers, middle five a bit more on the average side. I think the maths still come out to a four overall.
Overall as an album it is ok. Clearly some big songs in terms of Parklife and Girls & Boys and some other highlights in there as well. But there is some filler. It is a good album and good for the background.
I think this is a fantastic album. I have listened this is a number of times before. On the bluesy side for the Rolling Stones, but there are some cracking songs here and don't think there is much filler.
Have always been a fan and this is a solid album. The hits/singles are big ones in my view. A little bit of filler, however overall a good flow to the album, a lot of variety and an enjoyable listen.
Rather boring. The funky bassline on some songs save it a little bit.
Up my street. Listened to this album a while back, bluesy and soulfully. A very enjoyable listen.
It is a good live album and I do like the additional covers in terms of The Man Who Sold The World and Where Did You Sleep Last Night. However, going unplugged/acoustic lessens what makes Nirvana good so I think I can only go to a 3 star.
A difficult one to rate. The random wailing can get a bit annoying. However some the underlying music is strong and there are some songs I enjoyed there. Provisionally 3 subject to some a downgrade. I think there is plenty more Bjork and who knows, I might become a fan.
Mixed. It is too long for my liking. There is a lot in here I like. Problem is that you have a few songs that bluesy and very enjoyable, then a couple of not so good songs that are pop orientated. Just about a 3 star for me.
Not really my genre. I can appreciate what is being done here and some elements I enjoyed, but ultimately will not revisit.
An enjoyable listen, some hits/singles I would listen to again. However overall it was good background rather than something I would revisit as a whole album.
Doesn't do much for me. Nothing offensive in there.
Starts off ok, then just dips and boring. Again, I don't hate it, just good background music and inoffensive.
Haven't listened through the whole album before, it was simply great. A range of genres and not really any filler. Outside of Bohemian Rhapsody, The Prophet Song and Love of My Life as favourites from the album.
Never listened to Van Morrison before outside the bigger hits. I enjoyed the album. A bit of soul, some jazz elements, some stuff more rocky - a good mix. There were no big tracks I would say, but the album flowed well.
Haven't listened to a Muddy Waters album in full, but very much enjoyed this. I am a blues fan so this album was great for me. First song was probably the favourite. I also really liked Walking Through the Park however noticed that I played the reissued version and it had an extra song.
There is a lot to like here, however it is too long and you willing the album to finish. Started much better than it ended. Currently a 3 star but I might reassess.
Funky. The first song is by far the standout, however overall an album I enjoyed with a bit of variety.
One good song the rest a bit meh.
Didn't hate it. Didn't do anything for me.
A new one for me. Pleasantly surprised and on the better end for the more folksy music. In between a 3 and a 4 for me, might be a little harsh and go for a 3.
First half of this I was getting into and enjoying the album, but I think it starting getting annoying and maybe something about the voice started draining me.
There might be some bias as I do really like Rush, however this album is a triumph. Of course the 20 minute epic at the start is truly amazing but the remainder of the album stacks up well. Have listened to this album a number of times and will listen through many times more.
Light, breezy and a good listen. Certainly interesting, mix of genres in places.
Have listened to this a number of times before. Very much enjoy it. There is a little bit of filler in the album/a tad long. Nonetheless, a solid album.
Doesn't age well for sure. Didn't hate it, but didn't do too much for me outside the odd song like Heart.
I enjoyed this, jazzy, bluesy and a bit of soul. A relaxing listen. But nothing exceptional to push it to one of the higher ratings.
Some good, some boring. The two big hits are great along with some of the bluesy tracks towards the end. The rest was not too exciting.
Nothing too offensive, just found it rather dull.
Not sure how to really rate this, mix of genres and the album is all over the place, but it is also fun and enjoyable in parts. Overall, I would say I enjoyed the chaos.
I find little value in this album.
