Peak 60s, counter-culture era music. Jim Morrison is a legend for a reason and the real unspoken hero is the organist, Ray Manzarek. Would have loved to listen to them live in a smoky club in LA

Another reason why 90s New York hip-hop is the greatest genre/era of all time (also 70s British rock). First time listening to a Beastie Boys album top to bottom and it was a treat. Did not realize how awesome their production and sampling are and some really beautiful instrumentals throughout the album. A new favorite to add to my list of top hip-hop albums for sure

The Smiths have some very underrated musicianship. Johnny Marr is rightfully praised highly but the unspoken hero is the bassist Andy Rourke, who sadly passed a couple years ago.

Undisputably one of the greatest debut albums of all time. The original Tame Impala with Tom Scholz leading the show. His guitar skills are massively underrated. Lead singer also has some insane pipes and the harmonies with his own vocals is awesome
Never knew this album existed. I like David Bowie but this was just a very mid album. Still got his distinct sound and style but nothing really interesting

I've listened to this album a countless number of times and didn't realize how iconic it is until now. Obviously there are so many pop culture references to this album and artists that sample or build directly off some of these songs but I didn't appreciate it until now. Just peak 90s musicianship that has stood up as one of the greatest albums of all time without a doubt
Once again, I usually like this genre but this one was a miss. All the songs had some weird background sound effect which sort of blended them all together and resulted in sloppy disoriented album
I was thinking that this sounds a lot like Arctic Monkeys and then saw that Alex Turner is a part of this group. Good album, some very Arctic Monkeys type songs. Couple forgettable ones too but decent

Not a big fan of this album. I enjoy acid rock but this is just a lot of hootin and hollering. The 17 minute song at the end of this album should have been 3. Didn't even have a good drum solo to warrant anything like this.
An album I expected to enjoy a little more but was still okay. Some songs really blended together with the very similar sound and some interesting bluesy tracks. Sad that Bolan's career and life were cut short. Had a lot more potential as shown in this album.

I'm getting real sick of these 60s albums where they all sound like a worse version of The Doors and The Kinks. This band definitely has good musicians but the songs are just boring.
Not a huge fan of this band. Lots of my favorite bands drew inspiration from them and I can see why but their songwriting itself doesn't interest me. Radiohead and other bands of this genre do it way better
Nice change of pace from the previous albums. Really like Fiona Apple voice and she has a great supporting band and instruments. Very nice variety of songs too and just an overall nice listen.

Arguably the greatest live album of all time. Peak MTV and peak 90s music. Kurt got to show his real musical talent in a more laid-back, acoustic environment. All the songs are so good and the accompanying artists did so well too.
Really unique band that sounds like if U2 combined with MGMT. Some really good songs and great instrumentation. Main gripe with the album is that it's too long and there's some "filler" songs that took away from the whole album listening experience. Otherwise, I would give it a 4

Like Led Zeppelin, this is the result of getting some of the greatest minds in the genre together and making a masterpiece. Top tier production and too many iconic songs. This was an important album in my own listening experience of 90s hip hop and the genre in general.

A few club bangers here and a nice "FIFA music" or "PS2 music" vibe. Some terrible ones too and some that don't work in a casual listening environment and would be fun in a club or dance floor
