Popular Reviews

Music From The Penguin Cafe by Penguin Cafe Orchestra

Expected a bit more cohesive album with structure but it ended up being just a jumble of orchestral parts with random guitar. The vibe wasn't bad but it was just boring and uninteresting.

Live At Leeds by The Who

Solid live album. The quality of the recording and the actual musicianship is very good, blows modern live music out of the water. Songs themselves were not that interesting but an enjoyable listen overall.

Purple Rain by Prince

Timeless classic. Great songs with some lulls here and there. Prince has an insane vocal range and very underrated guitarist

Reggatta De Blanc by The Police

Terrific album from The Police. Some of the best drumming you'll hear and possibly Sting's best vocal work.

Transformer by Lou Reed

Really nice album. Wasn't feeling it too much at first but really liked the vibe. Great instrumentation and variety of sounds.

1-Star Albums (7)

All Ratings (263)

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Nov 18 2025

The result when four GOATs come together to make an album that would top the charts of Middle-Earth. Without a doubt one of the greatest albums of all time.

The Doors by The Doors
Nov 19 2025

Peak 60s, counter-culture era music. Jim Morrison is a legend for a reason and the real unspoken hero is the organist, Ray Manzarek. Would have loved to listen to them live in a smoky club in LA

Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk
Nov 20 2025

Not my favorite cup of tea but a solid jazz album.

Ill Communication by Beastie Boys
Nov 22 2025

Another reason why 90s New York hip-hop is the greatest genre/era of all time (also 70s British rock). First time listening to a Beastie Boys album top to bottom and it was a treat. Did not realize how awesome their production and sampling are and some really beautiful instrumentals throughout the album. A new favorite to add to my list of top hip-hop albums for sure

Appetite For Destruction by Guns N' Roses
Nov 23 2025

One of the greatest debut albums of all time. Awesome album to listen to on the highway. Slash and Axl Rose are a legendary duo

What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
Nov 25 2025

Absolute classic, proud to own it on vinyl. My personal GOAT for Soul/R&B. Timeless tracks and the instrumentation beautifully supports Marvin Gaye's vocals

At Budokan by Cheap Trick
Nov 26 2025

Very cool live album. Some nice hits and good sound overall

Legalize It by Peter Tosh
Nov 27 2025

Beautiful reggae album. Some tracks with a bit of country/folk influences. Nice change in genres compared to the last albums

Logical Progression by LTJ Bukem
Nov 28 2025

Very cool compilation of jungle music. Would listen to while playing a racing game

Shaka Zulu by Ladysmith Black Mambazo
Nov 30 2025

Beautiful voices and harmonies. Very unique pick and glad I got to broaden my music taste

Armed Forces by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Dec 01 2025

Not my cup of tea and found his voice kinda annoying. Crazy that this album came out in '79. Definitely sounds like it belongs in the early 2000s

Moondance by Van Morrison
Dec 02 2025

Beautiful guitar and vocals. Some nice jazzy rock tunes and solid album overall

School's Out by Alice Cooper
Dec 03 2025

Absolute classic. Lots more variety in sound than I expected. Need to listen to some more Alice Cooper for sure

Take Me Apart by Kelela
Dec 04 2025

Once again, not my cup of tea but I respect it

Born In The U.S.A. by Bruce Springsteen
Dec 05 2025

All American album. First complete listen and it was awesome. Many iconic tracks and great guitar and vocals along with some cool electric piano/organ parts

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
Dec 06 2025

The Smiths have some very underrated musicianship. Johnny Marr is rightfully praised highly but the unspoken hero is the bassist Andy Rourke, who sadly passed a couple years ago.

Happy Sad by Tim Buckley
Dec 07 2025

Wonderful, beautiful album. Some of the best bells/xylophone parts I've heard and Tim Buckley's got a great voice

Ramones by Ramones
Dec 08 2025

Classic British punk. Solid rhythm and guitar throughout

Is This It by The Strokes
Dec 09 2025

One of the best albums from one of the best bands of all time. One of my all-time favorites and I'm glad I got to listen to it again.

On The Beach by Neil Young
Dec 11 2025

Nice Neil Young album. Sound mixing of all the instruments sounded so good back then.

Vanishing Point by Primal Scream
Dec 12 2025

Brilliant album. Really cool sections with the tabla and sitar and a great listen with headphones

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Dec 13 2025

Some classics but also not a big fan of Run-D.M.C. I respect their impact and legacy but I'd be lying if I said it was as good as other hip hop groups of the era

Slanted And Enchanted by Pavement
Dec 14 2025

Nice indie rock album. First time listening to a full Pavement record and it was on par with others of its genre/era

Dec 15 2025

One of the greatest of all time commercially for a reason. Dr. Dre + 50 Cent such an awesome duo. Great listen during a gym session

The Wildest! by Louis Prima
Dec 16 2025

I was thinking that this album would work perfectly in Fallout and turns out it is already. The band and backing vocals work so well together. Sends you back to the 50s instantly

Songs From A Room by Leonard Cohen
Dec 17 2025

Decent folk album. Similar to some Bob Dylan albums I've listened to.

Teenage Head by Flamin' Groovies
Dec 20 2025

Really cool 70s rock album. Great vocals and bass and guitar are mixed so well

Isn't Anything by My Bloody Valentine
Dec 21 2025

Couldn't find a good copy of it so I'll have to come back to it

Leftism by Leftfield
Dec 22 2025

Not at all when I was expecting but it was okay. Some forgettable tracks and some really cool ones

Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
Dec 23 2025

Supertramp is criminally underrated. Musicianship is top notch and unique style with the different keyboard parts

L.A. Woman by The Doors
Dec 24 2025

The best Doors album and one of the best albums period. Great bluesy sound and vocals from Jim Morrison

Go Girl Crazy by The Dictators
Dec 25 2025

Never heard of this band till now. Great punk/rock sound similar to The Clash and KISS. Solid, concise track list and great guitar and vocals throughout

Bitches Brew by Miles Davis
Dec 27 2025

Nice jazz album. Great drums and bass. Good atmosphere created throughout the album

Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips
Dec 28 2025

Really solid indie/alternative album. Cool, almost psychadelic keyboard in some tracks and nice vocals and sound

Paul Simon by Paul Simon
Dec 29 2025

Pleasant folk album, nice acoustic guitar and vocals

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Dec 30 2025

One of my favorite alternative albums of all time. So many iconic tracks and peak musicianship throughout the album

Sex Packets by Digital Underground
Dec 31 2025

This might have been iconic or groundbreaking at the time, but it has not aged well. Mid bars and boring production. Another reason East Coast >>>>> West Coast

Boston by Boston
Jan 01 2026

Undisputably one of the greatest debut albums of all time. The original Tame Impala with Tom Scholz leading the show. His guitar skills are massively underrated. Lead singer also has some insane pipes and the harmonies with his own vocals is awesome

The Next Day by David Bowie
Jan 02 2026

Never knew this album existed. I like David Bowie but this was just a very mid album. Still got his distinct sound and style but nothing really interesting

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jan 03 2026

Great reggae album. Beautiful tracks and vocals are Bob Marley's vocals hard to beat

Bandwagonesque by Teenage Fanclub
Jan 04 2026

Mediocre indie album. Some great guitar and vocals but nothing too interesting

Vauxhall And I by Morrissey
Jan 05 2026

Decent. Morrisey definitely misses Johnny Marr but he still has some nice backing instruments and sound

Reggatta De Blanc by The Police
Jan 06 2026

Terrific album from The Police. Some of the best drumming you'll hear and possibly Sting's best vocal work.

Jan 07 2026

I do like this band but not my favorite album from them. Probably would be better if it were in a loud, club-like environment

Car Wheels On A Gravel Road by Lucinda Williams
Jan 08 2026

Pleasant listen. Not my favorite genre but some good tracks. Nice country-folk vibes and Lucinda has a great voice for this genre.

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Jan 09 2026

Pretty ok album. Really good instrumental sections but nothing that really stood out. First real listen to this group and interested to hear more

Either Or by Elliott Smith
Jan 10 2026

Great album. Songwriting is next level and the acoustic guitar is some of the best.

Dusty In Memphis by Dusty Springfield
Jan 11 2026

Classic album. Amazing vocals and underrated instrumentation especially the bass guitar.

Peggy Suicide by Julian Cope
Jan 12 2026

Not really a fan of this type of music but there were some decent tracks. Some corny lyrics and songwriting but tolerable

The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett
Jan 13 2026

Nice piano live concert. Some really pretty sections and also some slower, boring parts. Cool album

L'Eau Rouge by The Young Gods
Jan 14 2026

Bunch of French noise. Leave the real rock to the Americans and Brits. Gojira and Daft Punk carry that country (and some other DJs)

Darkdancer by Les Rythmes Digitales
Jan 15 2026

Very average dance/electronic album. Nothing that special besides some cool synths and drums here and there. Daft Punk set the bar too high for French DJs

Destroyer by KISS
Jan 16 2026

First full listen to a KISS album. Very distinct sound. Not the biggest fan of the band but okay album.

Crosby, Stills & Nash by Crosby, Stills & Nash
Jan 17 2026

Fantastic folk rock album. Simply one of the best and most influential groups of the time and feels like a time capsule when you listen to their music.

Pelican West by Haircut 100
Jan 18 2026

Sounds like The Smiths with some disco funk. Decent album, nothing too memorable or special. I like the sound of the band and all the instruments but nothing too interesting

Want Two by Rufus Wainwright
Jan 19 2026

Interesting album, didn't know what to expect. Very operatic pop sound and Rufus has a great voice for this style. Some boring tracks but was still a unique listening experience

Raw Power by The Stooges
Jan 20 2026

Decent punk-ish rock record. Reminded me of a punkiervl Rolling Stones. Nice concise track list and quality sound

Chelsea Girl by Nico
Jan 21 2026

Some great songs but also some questionable ones. Very similar to The Velvet Underground album, which she was also apart of, and I felt the same way about that.

Step In The Arena by Gang Starr
Jan 22 2026

Mediocre album. Big fan of DJ Premier but this album didn't do much for me.

The Yes Album by Yes
Jan 23 2026

Great album. Gives me Rush vibes with the great bass and drums and top tier musicianship.

Disintegration by The Cure
Jan 24 2026

Awesome album, one of the best from The Cure. Such a distinct sound, kind of melancholy with the guitar and bass.

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra
Jan 25 2026

Didn't enjoy this album as much as I thought I would but still has some solid tracks. Another band with a very distinct sound and some absolute classics

Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben Jor
Jan 27 2026

First time listening to a Brazilian/Portuguese album. Great style of music and fun listen

Jan 28 2026

First time listening to it in full. Main complaint is that it's way too long. 2 hrs for a rap album is insane but there was some variety at least. Some classics and hits but also some forgettable tracks.

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Jan 29 2026

Another legendary album. I truly believe they haven't made a bad album or even a bad song. Top tier musicianship and band

The Last Of The True Believers by Nanci Griffith
Jan 30 2026

Nice country album. Way better than the slop that's out now. Short and sweet and great vocals and love the steel guitar.

Definitely Maybe by Oasis
Jan 31 2026

Not my favorite Oasis album but still really good. Some of my favorite songs on here and these guys were just on another level at the time.

Crazysexycool by TLC
Feb 01 2026

Lot better than I expected. Some songs I recognized but not my favorite genre. Production and funky guitar impressed me and the ladies' vocals fit perfectly

Bone Machine by Tom Waits
Feb 02 2026

This should be on a list of 1001 albums to avoid in your lifetime. No idea what the appeal is of this kind of music. Just a bunch of grumbling over some bluesy and folk instrumentation. Kudos to the fans who like this stuff

After The Gold Rush by Neil Young
Feb 03 2026

Very mediocre album. Nothing really stood out but nothing was bad either. Just soundes like a typical Neil Young album

Feb 04 2026

Really solid album. Great production and 2Pac got probably the best rap voice of all time.

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Feb 05 2026

My kind of jazz album. Great feel and rhythm, and a pleasant listen throughout

Heartattack And Vine by Tom Waits
Feb 06 2026

I don't know who keeps adding this guy to the list but hope this album was the last one. His voice sounds like he's trying to imitate Louis Armstrong and blues musicians with the gravelly voice except he sucks. This album was more bearable than the last one of his but still ass

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Feb 07 2026

Love this band and their whole sound. I was just reading up about them and definitely feel their brotherly chemistry in the music. One of my favorite groups of all time in any genre and this album is an example of that

Feb 08 2026

Fantastic album, amazed me a lot more than I expected. Traffic is always been a great band but I feel like they're very underrated in terms of their musicianship. Amazing flute and saxophone parts and beautiful instrumentals throughout

Chirping Crickets by Buddy Holly & The Crickets
Feb 09 2026

Decent album. Nice 50s sound and harmonies from Buddy Holly and the band

The Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden
Feb 10 2026

An all-time great metal band and one of their best albums. Love the vocals and rhythm of the tracks. They just have this epic sound that really fits with their lyrics and tone.

Sheet Music by 10cc
Feb 11 2026

Some weird songs but some decent ones too

Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears
Feb 12 2026

Great album with an iconic 80s sound. Some absolute classics that take you to that era of music

Rio by Duran Duran
Feb 13 2026

Very mediocre 80s record. Distinct sound and great tracks but nothing too interesting

Feb 15 2026

My kind of country. Feels like I should be playing Fallout or RDR while listening to this. Amazing songwriting and singing with the guitar and background harmonies.

Feb 16 2026

Thought I would like this more but it was pretty bad. Has potential with the instruments and vocals but just a lot of banging and hollering.

Nevermind by Nirvana
Feb 17 2026

I've listened to this album a countless number of times and didn't realize how iconic it is until now. Obviously there are so many pop culture references to this album and artists that sample or build directly off some of these songs but I didn't appreciate it until now. Just peak 90s musicianship that has stood up as one of the greatest albums of all time without a doubt

Feb 18 2026

Once again, I usually like this genre but this one was a miss. All the songs had some weird background sound effect which sort of blended them all together and resulted in sloppy disoriented album

The Age Of The Understatement by The Last Shadow Puppets
Feb 19 2026

I was thinking that this sounds a lot like Arctic Monkeys and then saw that Alex Turner is a part of this group. Good album, some very Arctic Monkeys type songs. Couple forgettable ones too but decent

Unhalfbricking by Fairport Convention
Feb 20 2026

Okay folk/rock album. Singer is great and some nice songs but nothing too interesting

Feb 21 2026

One of my personal all time favorites. Kanye really had the Avengers on this album and some of the most iconic songs on this album. Amazing production from Mike Dean and an all time classic in hip hop and music in general

Shake Your Money Maker by The Black Crowes
Feb 22 2026

They have a good sound but nothing really stood out. Sounds like a band that would play at live music bar or at a fair.

The Hour Of Bewilderbeast by Badly Drawn Boy
Feb 23 2026

Very much Elliot Smith vibes but not as good. Still decent with some good tracks

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
Feb 24 2026

Lots of noise with some ok songs here and there. People love or hate Meg White's drums and I lean towards hating it. I don't mind a more acoustic, laid back sound but sometimes it's just noisy.

McCartney by Paul McCartney
Feb 25 2026

Okay album. Some beautiful tracks and some basic ones with the distinct sound of McCartney's guitar and vocals.

Manassas by Stephen Stills
Feb 26 2026

Nice folkish rock album. Some familiar tracks and great vocals throughout. Sounds like a Crosby, Stills, and Nash record as expected which is welcome. However this album is way too long and some pretty boring songs almost like filler

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly
Feb 27 2026

Not a big fan of this album. I enjoy acid rock but this is just a lot of hootin and hollering. The 17 minute song at the end of this album should have been 3. Didn't even have a good drum solo to warrant anything like this.

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Feb 28 2026

An album I expected to enjoy a little more but was still okay. Some songs really blended together with the very similar sound and some interesting bluesy tracks. Sad that Bolan's career and life were cut short. Had a lot more potential as shown in this album.

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Mar 01 2026

Another classic rock album I thought I would enjoy more. I would give it above 3 like 3.25 or 3.5 but not good enough for a 4.

In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Mar 02 2026

Ok jazz record. Some beautiful sections but also some uninteresting, slow parts. Not my kind of jazz but still a fine listen

Harvest by Neil Young
Mar 03 2026

This generator loves Neil Young and the rest of CSNY. Still a really good album. Some beautiful vocals and acoustic guitar and iconic songs

Vivid by Living Colour
Mar 04 2026

Great rock album. Nice blend of funk and hard rock. Bassist is so good and singer is great.

Electric Music For The Mind And Body by Country Joe & The Fish
Mar 05 2026

I'm getting real sick of these 60s albums where they all sound like a worse version of The Doors and The Kinks. This band definitely has good musicians but the songs are just boring.

Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth
Mar 06 2026

Not a huge fan of this band. Lots of my favorite bands drew inspiration from them and I can see why but their songwriting itself doesn't interest me. Radiohead and other bands of this genre do it way better

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Mar 07 2026

Nice change of pace from the previous albums. Really like Fiona Apple voice and she has a great supporting band and instruments. Very nice variety of songs too and just an overall nice listen.

Blue Lines by Massive Attack
Mar 08 2026

Had potential but found it very boring. Some cool drums and production

Our Aim Is To Satisfy by Red Snapper
Mar 09 2026

Cool electronic album. Very fitting for its era and some really cool production

Mar 10 2026

Arguably the greatest live album of all time. Peak MTV and peak 90s music. Kurt got to show his real musical talent in a more laid-back, acoustic environment. All the songs are so good and the accompanying artists did so well too.

The Suburbs by Arcade Fire
Mar 11 2026

Really unique band that sounds like if U2 combined with MGMT. Some really good songs and great instrumentation. Main gripe with the album is that it's too long and there's some "filler" songs that took away from the whole album listening experience. Otherwise, I would give it a 4

Mar 12 2026

There are some really great songs on this album and also some really boring, forgettable ones. Lots of potential for this band, reminds me of Coldplay with a mix of the Lumineers and more folkish sound

Lost Souls by Doves
Mar 13 2026

Like the vibe of the band and some great songs. Found it kinda boring but still decent

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Mar 14 2026

Not nearly as good as ill Communication but still a cool record. Felt the production was a bit weaker on some songs while there are some pretty solid ones too.

The Poet by Bobby Womack
Mar 15 2026

Love some Bobby Womack. Always solid R&B and timeless

Young Americans by David Bowie
Mar 16 2026

Great David Bowie album. Love his blend of funk and rock and great supporting instruments as well

Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake
Mar 17 2026

Nice folk album. Probably would be what Elliot Smith would sound like if he were from the 60s.

Purple Rain by Prince
Mar 18 2026

Timeless classic. Great songs with some lulls here and there. Prince has an insane vocal range and very underrated guitarist

Mar 19 2026

I like WuTang a lot and Raekwon is one of my favorite members. Some really great songs and production throughout but just way too long.

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
Mar 20 2026

Chillest album so far. I enjoy good bossa nova and the singers voice is very gentle. Nothing too outstanding about it but pleasant listen

Kind Of Blue by Miles Davis
Mar 21 2026

Enjoyed it more than Bitches Brew. Wonderful audio mixing and a great vibe throughout the whole record

Drunk by Thundercat
Mar 23 2026

An album I had high expectations for but fell a bit short. I like the sound and R&B, jazzy feel throughout the album but lot of the songs sound the same and not very distinguishable. Some big hits for sure and good album

Moon Safari by Air
Mar 24 2026

Really cool album. Sounds like a very chill Daft Punk. Unique calming sound and great production

A Date With The Everly Brothers by The Everly Brothers
Mar 25 2026

Love this genre of music. Great feel and a cheery vibe throughout the record. Short and sweet with great musicianship both vocally and instrumentally.

The Stranger by Billy Joel
Mar 26 2026

Simply one of the greatest albums. Nice variety of songs and multiple classics.

The Genius Of Ray Charles by Ray Charles
Mar 27 2026

Decent album. Love Ray Charles voice and great band but no really memorable songs.

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Mar 28 2026

A few great songs and a lot of boring songs. Mrs Robinson is one of the greatest songs but can't carry this album enough

Mar 29 2026

Really cool album. I'd only listened to one song on this album before but did not expect the vibe of the others. Some weird sections of noise and random sounds like parts of Pink Floyd's albums but the actual musical pieces were very good

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
Mar 30 2026

Did not enjoy after the first song. Maybe it's not my type of music but way too experimental or "progressive" pop.

Graceland by Paul Simon
Mar 31 2026

Very interesting album. Did not expect the large amount of African music influence and features from African artists including Lady Black Mambazo whose album I listened to from this list. Still not that captivating, some really boring, plain 80s pop songs, but unique album

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Apr 01 2026

A lot more bluesy than expected. Really good collection of songs. Nothing mind blowing but a good, chill rock album

Apr 02 2026

Like Led Zeppelin, this is the result of getting some of the greatest minds in the genre together and making a masterpiece. Top tier production and too many iconic songs. This was an important album in my own listening experience of 90s hip hop and the genre in general.

Infected by The The
Apr 03 2026

A few catchy tunes but really underwhelming album. Can't say I disliked it but I wouldn't listen to it if I had the choice

Apr 04 2026

A few club bangers here and a nice "FIFA music" or "PS2 music" vibe. Some terrible ones too and some that don't work in a casual listening environment and would be fun in a club or dance floor

Apr 05 2026

Fantastic mix of R&B and hip-hop. Iconic songs and iconic album. Ms. Lauryn Hill is a generational talent and this album is proof of that

Apr 06 2026

Been waiting for a Pink Floyd album to be generated. Every audiophile's dream and the pinnacle of psychedelic rock. Top notch lyricism from Waters paired with the guitar from Gilmour. One of my absolute all time favorites

Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce Springsteen
Apr 07 2026

Mediocre record. Nice American rock and good songwriting especially the piano sections. Just a little boring

Disraeli Gears by Cream
Apr 08 2026

Another all time album. Eric Clapton's genius on full display and Jack Bruce's vocals are very underrated. Iconic songs and nice collection of songs in the record

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Apr 09 2026

Hard to give a Radiohead album anything below 4 stars. Not my favorite Radiohead album, probably not even top 3 but still a great album. Some of Thom Yorke's best vocals and the rhythm section is too good

Tigermilk by Belle & Sebastian
Apr 10 2026

First time hearing of this band and it sounds like a more energetic version of The Velvet Underground. Very okay album, nothing too impressive about it. Sort of calming chill vibe throughout all the songs but also a bit boring

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
Apr 11 2026

After the first song I was excited and then it quickly diminished. Nice funky, disco vibe. Some parts got too noisy and some really wack songs that went on too long. Drummer and brass were the stars for sure

Rust In Peace by Megadeth
Apr 12 2026

Really enjoyed this album, better than I expected. Insane guitar sections with the shredding and skillful instrumentation. Dave Mustaine I was not familiar with your game

Atomizer by Big Black
Apr 13 2026

Genuinely the worst album I've ever listened to. Mind boggling that this made the list. People that gave it 4 or 5 stars must know something I don't. Just plain noise with terrible sound mixing and no musical element

Guero by Beck
Apr 14 2026

Much better than I expected. I thought it would be corny and boring but actually had some great musicianship from the first song onwards. Couple lulls but really nice cohesive album

War by U2
Apr 15 2026

A few iconic songs I've heard plenty and some new ones I enjoyed. Not that interesting of an album. U2 has some much better ones for sure

25 by Adele
Apr 16 2026

One of the greatest voices of all time and I love almost every song of hers. This album was a great listen and beautiful display of her talent

The Sounds Of India by Ravi Shankar
Apr 17 2026

One of the coolest albums I've listened to. Really enjoyed listening to the explanations of Hindustani music and the masterful demonstrations following them. It was a bit long and the sitar sort of "drones" at times but still a very unique and cool album

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Apr 18 2026

The Beach Boys' harmonies are unmatched. Some more rock and roll type songs in this album which were a interesting inclusion. Nice concise album

Apr 19 2026

Fun live album. I like hearing the crowd cheers with the James Brown vocals, makes me feel like I'm there. His energy is another level and the supporting band is great as well

World Clique by Deee-Lite
Apr 20 2026

No idea how this made the list. The most boring electronic album I've heard. No jarring or harsh sounds but zero interesting elements

Odelay by Beck
Apr 21 2026

Not nearly as interesting as the other Beck album I listened to but still okay. Good variety of songs and production

Headquarters by The Monkees
Apr 22 2026

Very Beatles like sound from this group. I've definitely heard some of their other songs and I do enjoy the style. Nothing too riveting but a good listen

Risque by CHIC
Apr 23 2026

Good disco, funk album. The album itself was a fine length but some songs were drawn out a bit too long but that's more to do with the genre and intended environment for this type of music. I love Nile Rodgers so it was an enjoyable listen overall

Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode
Apr 24 2026

Maybe I had high expectations but this was a really underwhelming album. Very monotonous and uninteresting. It did capture the era it was created during but I listen to far better ones than this.

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Apr 25 2026

My favorite Beatles album and one of my all time favorites. Every song is so good and so many great melodies and wonder lyrics. Really showcases their brilliance and musical abilities

Fire Of Love by The Gun Club
Apr 26 2026

One of the weaker punk albums Ive listened to. Clearly the musicians have talent but the singer is awful. Nothing on this album warrants it being on this list.

Elephant Mountain by The Youngbloods
Apr 27 2026

Pleasant album. Lot more jazzy and bluesy than I expected. Good guitar but no real memorable songs

Illmatic by Nas
Apr 28 2026

The pinnacle of hip-hop. The greatest rap album of all time in my opinion. Unreal that Nas was only 19 when he made this masterpiece. DJ Premier deserves more flowers in general and this album showcases how good pure, lyrical boom-bap rap can be

Transformer by Lou Reed
Apr 29 2026

Really nice album. Wasn't feeling it too much at first but really liked the vibe. Great instrumentation and variety of sounds.

Teen Dream by Beach House
Apr 30 2026

Love this band and this is a solid album. The record is Flfilled with with the dreamy, melancholic vibe that they do very well. Glad to see them and this album on the list

May 01 2026

Pretty decent album. Good sound throughout the album. Kind of a blend between QOTSA and Radiohead. There were definitely some songs I wasn't feeling too much but also some cool ones

Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
May 02 2026

Started strong and then collapsed a bit. I'm not a huge fan of Talking Heads in general but there were some bright spots and some terrible/corny songs. Still a decent album overall

Idlewild by Everything But The Girl
May 03 2026

Enjoyed this one a lot more than I expected. Really liked the singers voice and the background instruments really allowed her to shine. Reminds me of department store music, nice and soothing pop.

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
May 04 2026

I love CCR and this was a good album. Some really drawn out songs but nice Southern folkish sound with some blues. Feels like I'm really in the Bayou

Kid A by Radiohead
May 05 2026

Best way to describe this album is the word ethereal. Pretty amazing soundscape that Radiohead form as the album progresses. This album could be used as a movie soundtrack and a couple of the songs have indeed been used in movies and TV shows. Jonny Greenwood is a generational talent and this album showcases that brilliance.

Duck Stab/Buster & Glen by The Residents
May 06 2026

I thought I'd already listened to the worst album in this list but this is definitely it. Most pretentious piece of garbage I've ever listened to and people that claim to like this have to be either deaf or from a different planet.

Scott 2 by Scott Walker
May 07 2026

I like his voice but got sick of it a few songs in. Pretty boring album with a lot of opera type vocals. Was hoping for more of Sinatra or Dean Martin type of sound but it failed to deliver

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
May 08 2026

Did Neil Young create this list or something? I do like the albums but kind of crazy that he has so many on this list. Another cool classic rock album with some folkish elements. Some long sections of jamming but not too drawn out. Enjoyable listen overall

May 09 2026

Another Talking Heads album that starts fine and then gets kind of irritating. I understand some people really like the style of the band but I'm just not feeling it as much as them. Kind of cheesy and almost unserious which is fine but gets old after a while.

Freak Out! by The Mothers Of Invention
May 10 2026

It deserves 1 star but I did read that this was supposed to be satire so I'll bump it to 2. Can't believe Frank Zappa associated himself with this nonsense

May 11 2026

I like the band and their sound but a lot of this album was pretty boring and just drawn out instrumentals.

Ready To Die by The Notorious B.I.G.
May 12 2026

I listened to this before but did not remember it being this raw. Really cool concept and the skits really brought it to life. Obviously the raps were great but the album was a few filler tracks long. The last song was too good

May 13 2026

Like a modern Lou Reed album. Great instrumentation and vibe to the songs. Wasn't feeling the vocals as much but still a pretty solid, pleasant album

The Who Sell Out by The Who
May 14 2026

Very underwhelming Who album. I do like the band a lot so I had a high standard coming in but this was kind of disappointing. Had more of a Beach boys vibe wish I would do like also but didn't fit with The Who as much.

Bright Flight by Silver Jews
May 15 2026

Another album with good instruments but very boring vocals. The guy tried to be like Lou Reed or even Bill Callahan from a previous album on this list but he had the most uninteresting vocals out of all of them.

Metallica by Metallica
May 16 2026

All time metal album. So many classics and anthems you hear during sports events and pop culture. Some filler songs and Lars Ulrich's drums piss me off but still a great album.

Music From The Penguin Cafe by Penguin Cafe Orchestra
May 17 2026

Expected a bit more cohesive album with structure but it ended up being just a jumble of orchestral parts with random guitar. The vibe wasn't bad but it was just boring and uninteresting.

Imperial Bedroom by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
May 18 2026

Better than the last Elvis Costello album I listened to from this list. Decent instruments but do not like the songwriting or style. More power to those that enjoy this

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
May 19 2026

Nice folk rock album from the legend. Not my favorite style but still some good songs and pleasant listen overall.

The Idiot by Iggy Pop
May 20 2026

Interesting album. I'd heard Iggy Pop's name a bunch but this is the first time properly listening to his music. David Bowie-esque sound and vibe and enjoyable overall

Opus Dei by Laibach
May 21 2026

I thought this album was included for some special reason but no it's just ass. I don't care if it's some Slovenian avant-garde metal album. It's a lot of noise with Slavic yelling. Unfathomable that this made the list but no Rammstein album did.

We Are Family by Sister Sledge
May 22 2026

Nice funky album, great for a dance floor. Nile Rodgers knows how to create a great funky groove

Stardust by Willie Nelson
May 23 2026

Nothing wrong with this album but just extremely boring. Some decent covers and some nice sleepy tunes

Savane by Ali Farka Touré
May 24 2026

Interesting listen. I like the vibe and unique sound. A little too long and drawn out for some songs but a decent experience overall

Merriweather Post Pavilion by Animal Collective
May 25 2026

Lots of cool sounds but with a incoherent structure. Many of these newer pop bands try to be a bit too experimental or progressive for my taste and just end up making music for a modern art gallery.

Smash by The Offspring
May 26 2026

I've listened to songs from this band numerous times but this is the first time I've listened to a full album. Decent listening experience with my main criticism being that all the songs blend together and sound very similar. I do like they're high energy style but over an album duration, it gets old.

May 27 2026

Great record and I really like the group. Wish they had the J-Dilla produced Labcabincalifornia instead or any J-Dilla album has a matter of fact, but this will do. Great rap and nothing too lyrically obscene or off-putting for general audiences.

Arrival by ABBA
May 28 2026

Awesome album from the GOATs of disco. Love the vocals and vibe of the group and this album has plenty of cheery songs that fit them.

Aladdin Sane by David Bowie
May 29 2026

David Bowie and Neil Young must have collaborated to put together this list cuz there's no reason for either one l, as much as I like them both, to have this many albums on this list and leave out so many other greats. Still this is a pretty decent album but nothing that interesting. His other albums are much better

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
May 30 2026

Really cool album listening experience. The history behind it is fascinating and hearing Johnny Cash speak is awesome

Marquee Moon by Television
May 31 2026

Another okay '70s Rock album but no organ and psychedelic feel this time.

The Man Who by Travis
Jun 01 2026

I like the style of this album and vocals are very nice throughout. Nothing particularly stood out but nothing was wrong or boring about it either.

Jun 02 2026

Great folk album from the legend himself. Nice easy listening and fantastic lyrics as always.

Tom Tom Club by Tom Tom Club
Jun 03 2026

More noise. Boomers make fun of modern music for the brain rot style but this is just as bad. There were a couple songs I recognized from samples used in electronic and hip hop music but pretty underwhelming album.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters by Fiona Apple
Jun 04 2026

I know I'm definitely not the target audience but this album was a pretty tough listen. This is music made for women with septum piercings and Subaru drivers. That should explain it

Trio by Dolly Parton
Jun 05 2026

Wonderful album filled with three beautiful voices. I love this style of country and this was just a very pleasant, refreshing listen after the last few albums on the list

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Jun 06 2026

Goated album by the GOAT himself. Longer than expected but peak guitar and blues throughout the whole album. The supporting band is also very underrated especially the drums.

The Sun Rises In The East by Jeru The Damaja
Jun 07 2026

Mediocre album. A couple okay tracks with some good production. Lots of better boom-bap '90s hip hop that clears this so I don't know why this was included on the list.

Pretenders by Pretenders
Jun 08 2026

Ok pop-punk album. Decent vocals and some cool songs.

Fear Of A Black Planet by Public Enemy
Jun 09 2026

I respect the group but I was just not feeling it. Not sure if it's because I am tired of rap in general but this was just an uninteresting album. Lots of politically charged, well written songs, but got bored of it halfway through.

A Northern Soul by The Verve
Jun 10 2026

First full listen of a Verve album. Sounds like a dreamer, more Radiohead-like version of Oasis and I really liked the vibe. I need to do more thorough listen with headphones to appreciate it more but I still really liked it.

Buffalo Springfield Again by Buffalo Springfield
Jun 11 2026

Decent album. I enjoy the band's sound and feel. This album was a nice short and pleasant listen but nothing outstanding.

Jun 12 2026

There may be one good song on this album. Don't know how these albums keep making the list but it's more random sounds and melodies just jumbled together.

If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears by The Mamas & The Papas
Jun 13 2026

One of those albums that transports you to the era in which it was recorded. So many iconic songs I've been used in movies. Complete, short and sweet collection of songs.

Gentlemen by The Afghan Whigs
Jun 14 2026

A more poppy grunge band. Decent light album overall with nothing too impressive.

Want One by Rufus Wainwright
Jun 15 2026

No idea what this guy did to warrant another album on this list after a lot of other artists aren't don't even have one. This list keeps losing its credibility by the day but this one wasn't terrible at least. Lots of drawn out operatic singing

Electric Prunes by The Electric Prunes
Jun 17 2026

Pretty lame album. Nothing in it that makes it worth being included in this list. Thankfully it was short.

Heaux Tales by Jazmine Sullivan
Jun 18 2026

Absolute troll pick on this list. Okay singing but wild lyrics. If they had any balls, they would put R Kelly on this list.

A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
Jun 19 2026

Maybe the best jazz record I've heard from this list so far. Very cohesive record and great listen with headphones.

Imagine by John Lennon
Jun 20 2026

A real classic and some great songs besides the titular song on the record.

Supa Dupa Fly by Missy Elliott
Jun 21 2026

Absolute masterclass from Timbaland. Vocals were okay but just a great collection of beats from the master of the early 2000s, filled with catchy songs and features

Live At Leeds by The Who
Jun 22 2026

Solid live album. The quality of the recording and the actual musicianship is very good, blows modern live music out of the water. Songs themselves were not that interesting but an enjoyable listen overall.

Jun 23 2026

Nice pleasant album from the legend himself. Lots of soothing melodies and great vocals. A little bit long but nothing wrong with the album

Pacific Ocean Blue by Dennis Wilson
Jun 24 2026

Wasn't feeling it at first and then it really grew on me and some songs were really good. Very interesting vibe, kind of psychedelic but also has a solid classic American rock sound

What's That Noise? by Coldcut
Jun 25 2026

Kind of a lame electronic / dance music album. Nothing very interesting, just a lot of beeps and boops

Back to Basics by Christina Aguilera
Jun 26 2026

Better than expected. Really enjoyed Christiana Aguilera's voice and she really showcased her versatility throughout the album.

A Girl Called Dusty by Dusty Springfield
Jun 27 2026

Dusty walked so Adele could run. I still enjoy Adele a lot more but I appreciate Dusty's vocals and her melodies.

Jun 28 2026

A great classic and showcase of variety from such an iconic group. Not my favorite Beatles album but lots of great songs. Some weird, very experimental sections contrasting with nice melodic vocals and instrumentation.

Yeezus by Kanye West
Jun 29 2026

Shocked to see this album make the list but in a good way. Peak production from Kanye and Mike Dean and so many iconic songs. Some not-so-great songs and cringe bars but the personal connection I have with this album warrants a four star.

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Jun 30 2026

Nice Springsteen album. Not nearly as good as Born in the USA but still solid. Optimistic vibe and good vocals

m b v by My Bloody Valentine
Jul 01 2026

Lot of noise trying to be punk/edgy. The band's name lends itself to the emo, cringey stereotypes and the music follows suit

Moss Side Story by Barry Adamson
Jul 02 2026

Another troll pick. Such a pointless album that I'm sure this guy thought was really cool when he was tripping balls.

Safe As Milk by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Jul 03 2026

Pretty average 60s rock album. Nothing great but nothing bad

The Atomic Mr Basie by Count Basie & His Orchestra
Jul 04 2026

Good album that belongs in the Fallout universe. Classical big band jazz feel and nice variety within the tracklist.

Beyond Skin by Nitin Sawhney
Jul 05 2026

Interesting fusion album. A little weird/boring but better than I expected based on previous reviews.

Killing Joke by Killing Joke
Jul 06 2026

Decent punk album. Reminds me of The Clash a bit.

Ghosteen by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jul 08 2026

Extremely boring and depressing album. Easy one to fall asleep to.

Jul 09 2026

Another Dylan album on the list but this one at least is a bit different and a lot more energetic and upbeat. Some classic songs and solid instrumentation to go with Dylan's iconic vocals.

Bluesbreakers by John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers
Jul 10 2026

Nice blues album from this group and Eric Clapton in his bag. The songs blend together a bit but still enjoyable listen hearing all the different licks and blues melodies.

Blur by Blur
Jul 11 2026

Solid alt rock album from the legend Damon Albarn and team. Couple weird ones with some cool ones mixed in

Hearts And Bones by Paul Simon
Jul 12 2026

A very questionable pick on this list. Nothing overtly wrong but considering all the snubs on the list, this album has no business being here. Very boring and not nearly to the level of Simon and Garfunkel or even some of his other solo work

S.F. Sorrow by The Pretty Things
Jul 13 2026

Sounds like a knock-off of The Beatles or maybe just inspired by the music of the same era. Some pretty good songs with some weird ones too as expected

Achtung Baby by U2
Jul 14 2026

Some really good songs mixed with some very forgettable ones. Love the vocals and the spacey sound of the guitar but not quite worthy of four stars.

2112 by Rush
Jul 15 2026

Not my favorite from a band I love. Some great elements as usual but no cohesive structure and just felt short of expectations.

American Pie by Don McLean
Jul 16 2026

I've heard the title track so many times but never this album or any of its songs. Great listen on the road and very soothing voice. A little slow and somber but very well put together album

Jul 17 2026

Much better than the last Public Enemy album. Good production, especially the drums. Still not worthy of having two albums on this list when Mobb Deep or J Dilla are snubbed

Jul 18 2026

Very boring album. Nothing really bad about it but just felt very monotonous and no interesting elements

White Light by Gene Clark
Jul 19 2026

Another pretty boring album. Sounds like a more country version of Bob Dylan with some good instrumentation here and there but nothing noteworthy

Blood, Sweat & Tears by Blood, Sweat & Tears
Jul 20 2026

One of the more unique albums on this list. Interesting genre-blending style and covers of some famous songs. A bit scattered brained and strange at times but an okay listen overall

My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello
Jul 21 2026

Mind boggled how this man has this many albums on this list. At least this one is better than the others but can't give it anything higher than two in good conscience.

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Jul 22 2026

Phenomenal album. Easily one of the greatest albums of all time, not just within rock/alternative. So many classics and the tone of the guitar is so good and fits Corgans vocals and overall vibe

Cafe Bleu by The Style Council
Jul 23 2026

Actually a very cool album, lots of variety and unique styles. Don't know why the other reviews hate on it so much but I thought it was pretty interesting. Certainly there are some weird ones especially the rap song but I've definitely heard much worse on this list

Ogden's Nut Gone Flake by Small Faces
Jul 24 2026

I've been trying to find the first song on this album for so long after hearing it on the GTA V radio so this album started off great. Then it went downhill with the weirdness but still not terrible.

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Jul 25 2026

Enjoyed this album a lot more than I expected. Didn't realize that Watermelon Man was by Herbie Hancock. Really cool jazz pieces and the drummer was fantastic

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Jul 27 2026

Peak album, absolute banger after banger. RIP Chester Bennington, the guy really transformed the nu metal genre and the production with the guitar is so iconic

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Jul 28 2026

Probably my favorite Metallica album. Certainly it features the best drumming from Lars Ulrich besides Master of Puppets. The guitar melodies are also too good on this album.

The Slim Shady LP by Eminem
Jul 29 2026

Did not age too great but a pretty fun listen. Lots of wild lyrics as expected and Dr. Dre's signature production.

Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath
Jul 30 2026

Pretty good Sabbath album. Half was pretty good and the other half was forgettable but no bad songs or issues. Iommi's guitar is too iconic

Ellington at Newport by Duke Ellington
Jul 31 2026

Very cool live album. I like listening to the introductions and emceeing. Great quality jazz orchestration and musician

Parachutes by Coldplay
Aug 01 2026

One of the easiest 5 stars I've ever given. What a debut album and so many beautiful melodies. Don't understand the hate this group gets, but this album showcases their talent and potential to the fullest.

Aug 02 2026

Peaceful country album. Great voice and guitar and I enjoy the old fashioned feel with some elements of Mexican music

Lady In Satin by Billie Holiday
Aug 03 2026

Extremely boring album. I do like this genre but none of these songs stuck out and they all blended together. This would be good background music in a smoky bar/club but it's hard to listen for over an hour as a regular album

Superunknown by Soundgarden
Aug 04 2026

Cant't believe this was my first full listen through. I have listened to multiple songs individually but not as a full album. RIP Chris Cornell. God tier vocals throughout and amazing riff to go with it

Phaedra by Tangerine Dream
Aug 05 2026

More background sound that they call an album. Not terrible but nothing interesting or groundbreaking in this record. Would be a decent soundtrack

E.V.O.L. by Sonic Youth
Aug 06 2026

Just not a fan of this band. Radiohead does the same thing a million times better so I'd rather just listen to them.

Gold by Ryan Adams
Aug 07 2026

Very pleasant and enjoyable album. Liked it better than expected. Would be good for an outdoor venue at a fair or festival, just good American rock

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
Aug 08 2026

Decent album. A bit noisy and harsh at times, but cool sound and industrial vibe. They definitely would make great soundtracks as they have proven in actual films.

Exile In Guyville by Liz Phair
Aug 09 2026

I understand the appeal but not my cup of tea. Some really weird, horny lyrics and forgettable songs but to be fair there were one or two good ones.

British Steel by Judas Priest
Aug 10 2026

Solid classic metal album. Very iconic sound and perfect for a workout. I love the sound and tone guitar and the vocals are also top tier.
