Peak 60s, counter-culture era music. Jim Morrison is a legend for a reason and the real unspoken hero is the organist, Ray Manzarek. Would have loved to listen to them live in a smoky club in LA

Not my favorite cup of tea but a solid jazz album.

Great 80s pop

Another reason why 90s New York hip-hop is the greatest genre/era of all time (also 70s British rock). First time listening to a Beastie Boys album top to bottom and it was a treat. Did not realize how awesome their production and sampling are and some really beautiful instrumentals throughout the album. A new favorite to add to my list of top hip-hop albums for sure

One of the greatest debut albums of all time. Awesome album to listen to on the highway. Slash and Axl Rose are a legendary duo

Classic Smiths album

Absolute classic, proud to own it on vinyl. My personal GOAT for Soul/R&B. Timeless tracks and the instrumentation beautifully supports Marvin Gaye's vocals

The Smiths have some very underrated musicianship. Johnny Marr is rightfully praised highly but the unspoken hero is the bassist Andy Rourke, who sadly passed a couple years ago.

Wonderful, beautiful album. Some of the best bells/xylophone parts I've heard and Tim Buckley's got a great voice

Some classics but also not a big fan of Run-D.M.C. I respect their impact and legacy but I'd be lying if I said it was as good as other hip hop groups of the era

Nice indie rock album. First time listening to a full Pavement record and it was on par with others of its genre/era

I was thinking that this album would work perfectly in Fallout and turns out it is already. The band and backing vocals work so well together. Sends you back to the 50s instantly

Undisputably one of the greatest debut albums of all time. The original Tame Impala with Tom Scholz leading the show. His guitar skills are massively underrated. Lead singer also has some insane pipes and the harmonies with his own vocals is awesome

Never knew this album existed. I like David Bowie but this was just a very mid album. Still got his distinct sound and style but nothing really interesting

Great reggae album. Beautiful tracks and vocals are Bob Marley's vocals hard to beat

Mediocre indie album. Some great guitar and vocals but nothing too interesting

Decent. Morrisey definitely misses Johnny Marr but he still has some nice backing instruments and sound

Terrific album from The Police. Some of the best drumming you'll hear and possibly Sting's best vocal work.

I do like this band but not my favorite album from them. Probably would be better if it were in a loud, club-like environment

Very average dance/electronic album. Nothing that special besides some cool synths and drums here and there. Daft Punk set the bar too high for French DJs

First full listen to a KISS album. Very distinct sound. Not the biggest fan of the band but okay album.

Fantastic folk rock album. Simply one of the best and most influential groups of the time and feels like a time capsule when you listen to their music.

Sounds like The Smiths with some disco funk. Decent album, nothing too memorable or special. I like the sound of the band and all the instruments but nothing too interesting

Interesting album, didn't know what to expect. Very operatic pop sound and Rufus has a great voice for this style. Some boring tracks but was still a unique listening experience

First time listening to it in full. Main complaint is that it's way too long. 2 hrs for a rap album is insane but there was some variety at least. Some classics and hits but also some forgettable tracks.

This should be on a list of 1001 albums to avoid in your lifetime. No idea what the appeal is of this kind of music. Just a bunch of grumbling over some bluesy and folk instrumentation. Kudos to the fans who like this stuff

Love this band and their whole sound. I was just reading up about them and definitely feel their brotherly chemistry in the music. One of my favorite groups of all time in any genre and this album is an example of that

I've listened to this album a countless number of times and didn't realize how iconic it is until now. Obviously there are so many pop culture references to this album and artists that sample or build directly off some of these songs but I didn't appreciate it until now. Just peak 90s musicianship that has stood up as one of the greatest albums of all time without a doubt

Once again, I usually like this genre but this one was a miss. All the songs had some weird background sound effect which sort of blended them all together and resulted in sloppy disoriented album

I was thinking that this sounds a lot like Arctic Monkeys and then saw that Alex Turner is a part of this group. Good album, some very Arctic Monkeys type songs. Couple forgettable ones too but decent

Okay folk/rock album. Singer is great and some nice songs but nothing too interesting

One of my personal all time favorites. Kanye really had the Avengers on this album and some of the most iconic songs on this album. Amazing production from Mike Dean and an all time classic in hip hop and music in general

They have a good sound but nothing really stood out. Sounds like a band that would play at live music bar or at a fair.

Very much Elliot Smith vibes but not as good. Still decent with some good tracks

Lots of noise with some ok songs here and there. People love or hate Meg White's drums and I lean towards hating it. I don't mind a more acoustic, laid back sound but sometimes it's just noisy.

Okay album. Some beautiful tracks and some basic ones with the distinct sound of McCartney's guitar and vocals.

Nice folkish rock album. Some familiar tracks and great vocals throughout. Sounds like a Crosby, Stills, and Nash record as expected which is welcome. However this album is way too long and some pretty boring songs almost like filler

Not a big fan of this album. I enjoy acid rock but this is just a lot of hootin and hollering. The 17 minute song at the end of this album should have been 3. Didn't even have a good drum solo to warrant anything like this.

An album I expected to enjoy a little more but was still okay. Some songs really blended together with the very similar sound and some interesting bluesy tracks. Sad that Bolan's career and life were cut short. Had a lot more potential as shown in this album.

Another classic rock album I thought I would enjoy more. I would give it above 3 like 3.25 or 3.5 but not good enough for a 4.

I'm getting real sick of these 60s albums where they all sound like a worse version of The Doors and The Kinks. This band definitely has good musicians but the songs are just boring.

Not a huge fan of this band. Lots of my favorite bands drew inspiration from them and I can see why but their songwriting itself doesn't interest me. Radiohead and other bands of this genre do it way better

Nice change of pace from the previous albums. Really like Fiona Apple voice and she has a great supporting band and instruments. Very nice variety of songs too and just an overall nice listen.

Arguably the greatest live album of all time. Peak MTV and peak 90s music. Kurt got to show his real musical talent in a more laid-back, acoustic environment. All the songs are so good and the accompanying artists did so well too.

Really unique band that sounds like if U2 combined with MGMT. Some really good songs and great instrumentation. Main gripe with the album is that it's too long and there's some "filler" songs that took away from the whole album listening experience. Otherwise, I would give it a 4

There are some really great songs on this album and also some really boring, forgettable ones. Lots of potential for this band, reminds me of Coldplay with a mix of the Lumineers and more folkish sound

I like WuTang a lot and Raekwon is one of my favorite members. Some really great songs and production throughout but just way too long.

Chillest album so far. I enjoy good bossa nova and the singers voice is very gentle. Nothing too outstanding about it but pleasant listen

David Bowie's best album no doubt. Great flow of tracks and his guitar has a great blend of funk and psychedelic rock. His vocals speak for themselves and so many memorable songs throughout

An album I had high expectations for but fell a bit short. I like the sound and R&B, jazzy feel throughout the album but lot of the songs sound the same and not very distinguishable. Some big hits for sure and good album

Like Led Zeppelin, this is the result of getting some of the greatest minds in the genre together and making a masterpiece. Top tier production and too many iconic songs. This was an important album in my own listening experience of 90s hip hop and the genre in general.

Hard to give a Radiohead album anything below 4 stars. Not my favorite Radiohead album, probably not even top 3 but still a great album. Some of Thom Yorke's best vocals and the rhythm section is too good

First time hearing of this band and it sounds like a more energetic version of The Velvet Underground. Very okay album, nothing too impressive about it. Sort of calming chill vibe throughout all the songs but also a bit boring

After the first song I was excited and then it quickly diminished. Nice funky, disco vibe. Some parts got too noisy and some really wack songs that went on too long. Drummer and brass were the stars for sure

Genuinely the worst album I've ever listened to. Mind boggling that this made the list. People that gave it 4 or 5 stars must know something I don't. Just plain noise with terrible sound mixing and no musical element

The Beach Boys' harmonies are unmatched. Some more rock and roll type songs in this album which were a interesting inclusion. Nice concise album

Best way to describe this album is the word ethereal. Pretty amazing soundscape that Radiohead form as the album progresses. This album could be used as a movie soundtrack and a couple of the songs have indeed been used in movies and TV shows. Jonny Greenwood is a generational talent and this album showcases that brilliance.

I thought I'd already listened to the worst album in this list but this is definitely it. Most pretentious piece of garbage I've ever listened to and people that claim to like this have to be either deaf or from a different planet.

I like his voice but got sick of it a few songs in. Pretty boring album with a lot of opera type vocals. Was hoping for more of Sinatra or Dean Martin type of sound but it failed to deliver

Another Talking Heads album that starts fine and then gets kind of irritating. I understand some people really like the style of the band but I'm just not feeling it as much as them. Kind of cheesy and almost unserious which is fine but gets old after a while.

Very underwhelming Who album. I do like the band a lot so I had a high standard coming in but this was kind of disappointing. Had more of a Beach boys vibe wish I would do like also but didn't fit with The Who as much.

Another album with good instruments but very boring vocals. The guy tried to be like Lou Reed or even Bill Callahan from a previous album on this list but he had the most uninteresting vocals out of all of them.

Lots of cool sounds but with a incoherent structure. Many of these newer pop bands try to be a bit too experimental or progressive for my taste and just end up making music for a modern art gallery.

I've listened to songs from this band numerous times but this is the first time I've listened to a full album. Decent listening experience with my main criticism being that all the songs blend together and sound very similar. I do like they're high energy style but over an album duration, it gets old.

Great record and I really like the group. Wish they had the J-Dilla produced Labcabincalifornia instead or any J-Dilla album has a matter of fact, but this will do. Great rap and nothing too lyrically obscene or off-putting for general audiences.

David Bowie and Neil Young must have collaborated to put together this list cuz there's no reason for either one l, as much as I like them both, to have this many albums on this list and leave out so many other greats. Still this is a pretty decent album but nothing that interesting. His other albums are much better

Goated album by the GOAT himself. Longer than expected but peak guitar and blues throughout the whole album. The supporting band is also very underrated especially the drums.

I respect the group but I was just not feeling it. Not sure if it's because I am tired of rap in general but this was just an uninteresting album. Lots of politically charged, well written songs, but got bored of it halfway through.

First full listen of a Verve album. Sounds like a dreamer, more Radiohead-like version of Oasis and I really liked the vibe. I need to do more thorough listen with headphones to appreciate it more but I still really liked it.

A more poppy grunge band. Decent light album overall with nothing too impressive.

No idea what this guy did to warrant another album on this list after a lot of other artists aren't don't even have one. This list keeps losing its credibility by the day but this one wasn't terrible at least. Lots of drawn out operatic singing

Shocked to see this album make the list but in a good way. Peak production from Kanye and Mike Dean and so many iconic songs. Some not-so-great songs and cringe bars but the personal connection I have with this album warrants a four star.

Actually a very cool album, lots of variety and unique styles. Don't know why the other reviews hate on it so much but I thought it was pretty interesting. Certainly there are some weird ones especially the rap song but I've definitely heard much worse on this list

I've been trying to find the first song on this album for so long after hearing it on the GTA V radio so this album started off great. Then it went downhill with the weirdness but still not terrible.

Enjoyed this album a lot more than I expected. Didn't realize that Watermelon Man was by Herbie Hancock. Really cool jazz pieces and the drummer was fantastic

Peak album, absolute banger after banger. RIP Chester Bennington, the guy really transformed the nu metal genre and the production with the guitar is so iconic

Probably my favorite Metallica album. Certainly it features the best drumming from Lars Ulrich besides Master of Puppets. The guitar melodies are also too good on this album.
