Luck of the draw. I've never been a fan of Bob Dylan, but that's not because I have some utter disdain for his music. I assume it's because I just haven't had enough exposure to it. His Nobel Prize for Literature is well deserved, One of my reasons for taking on the 1001 Albums was to get more exposure to classic albums I have yet to hear! And by luck of the draw, my first Dylan album was this live recording. Turns out this is not at all how I want to hear Bob Dylan. This is a horrible first impression for someone to have for him, for a few different reasons. For one, the singing. I don't know most of these songs, and I wouldn't even be able to gather the content of each song in this recording unless I was reading along with all the lyrics. Then there's the mixing. In the acoustic set, the harmonica will often drown out the guitar completely. During the electric set, there are multiple songs where Dylan's singing sounds very distant, and the whole recording seems to switch from the soundboard to the quality of an actual bootlegged tape. I didn't enjoy listening to this at all, I can't see myself ever going back to it. But for hardcore Dylan fans, if it's any consolation, I have the utmost respect for the guy. When asked about the infamous "Judas" incident (the only thing about this recording that I would've been interested in, if it wasn't cut out) he said "All those evil motherfuckers can rot in hell." Nice guy.
90 minutes of nasal vocals, boring, drawling songs and frequent bouts of eardrum-piercing harmonica? Seriously, fuck off. Petition to ban the instrument starts now.

I don’t understand why people like Bob Dylan, it’s so boring. And annoying: 30 seconds into this album and I want to switch it off again immediately.
I really never could get in to Dylan. While I don't hate his music its something I would rather switch of if I have the option. I have tried different albums and songs throughout the years since so many love him and swear by his music. I haven't hear him life before today so I tried to have as an open mind as I can and listened through. Its not any better, in many aspects its worse. His mumbling made the few songs I kind of enjoy not enjoyable. A total miss for me.

Have you ever noticed that ol' Bob is usually in photographs by himself? Here's the thing, he's got a MASSIVE head. I'm not even talking about how comically large it is on his thin frame but when you do see him in a picture with another person his watermelon is even more noticeably large when you see what a regular sized cranium is supposed to look like. Is he just pictured with people that possess pea heads at all times? Oh, clearly he is a talented songwriter (the media has told me so since before he became famous) and influential. His voice ruins any of the faux poetry he is caterwauling though whatever song he is playing. At least this live recording really puts his vocals in the forefront so you can really lean into his odd annunciations and that sweet sweet nasally voice. How many times is Robert Allen Zimmerman going to be on this list? However many times it is it's that many times too many for me.

It was hard to stay 1:30 hrs listening to this boring record. 1st part had no drums and I was literally suffering: Second part was little better, I would probably rate it 2/5.

Ok, I'm putting my foot down. I am not about to listen to a bunch of live recordings of Bob Dylan songs, of which, I guarantee you, are from albums already on this list. There's too many live albums on this generator and it's beginning to get to me. Stop it.

I don't think I'll ever be a Bob Dylan fan. The acoustic half of this is like nails on a chalkboard to me. Guitar is fine but very subtle in the mix compared to Bob's annoying voice and the ear-splitting harmonica. Can't do it. The electric stuff is saved a bit by the band being very good, but Bob's voice is only marginally better and that damn harmonica is still piercing. Still nothing I would ever choose to listen to.
- Another misogynist Zio domestic abuser. This list is basically a who’s who of who not to support. I’m starting to get embarrassed that people think I support Zios, pedos, and misogynists when they hear the music coming from my place. I feel dirty doing this challenge. - His guitar playing is pretty uninspired, and the acoustic portion with just him and his guitar isn’t super interesting - he could definitely use instrumentation support… and I’m not talking about the harmonica, which was a lot to take sitting at home - maybe at a show, which I know this is, but I’m not there. Well, I just listened to the second side, and the instrumentation doesn’t help much. - This guy thinks his storytelling is soooo interesting… quoting his lyrics sums it up “little boy lost, he takes himself so seeeeriouslyyyy”. Unfortunately, the music isn’t interesting enough to want to tune into the lyrics, so it ends up being a whole lot of nothing, especially with this crap recording quality where you can’t really distinguish what he’s saying. - Visions of Johanna and Desolation Row exemplify everything that I don’t like about a lot of his music… droning verses that go on forever with nothing interesting to hold on to. Not much in the way of melody, and his vocal affectations get as annoying as the harmonica because it’s the same thing over and over. Out-of-tune nasal, whiny talk singing over barely-there musical support. - Fourth Time Around was nice. I usually like Tambourine Man, but he ruined it on this almost 9-minute version with the worst singing I’ve heard from him in a while - he sounds totally wasted. Ditto on "Like a Rolling Stone” - so out of tune… he can’t hit the notes at the best of times, but absolutely not even close live. - Overall, this never-ending album felt so pretentious. The very mid clapping after the songs just made me feel like this was a bunch of boring people at a very anemic concert. The solo man, guitar, and harmonica-vibe (for the first half) feels like it should be at a campfire and like you had to be there. - The second half is more energetic, but I was still bored/annoyed because the songs did nothing for me and the recording was not clear enough. - It’s a no from me.
Might be a hot take, but I don't like his voice at all. Harmonica fire tho.

In my opinion, Bob Dylan is overrated. Maybe his lyrics are great. If I want lyrics, I read real writers—not songwriters—or philosophers. I don't like his settings or his voice. 1/5
Bob Dylan is an artist best covered and not directly listened to, like how they have to look at the melted down core of the Chernobyl nuclear plant via a series of mirrors to prevent radiation exposure, except instead of radiation it's harmonicas.
Meh? Meh. Bob Dylan isn't really my jam, and Bob Dylan when the recording quality of the live show makes it difficult to make out anything in particular makes it a subpar listening experience. Sure, historically important and all, but as an album to be listened to, it was rough enough that I almost tapped out several times. Also the mixing on the harmonica was ear-piercingly shrill. Oof.

I think I'm just not into Bob Dylan at all. The music itself is gratingly static, and folk is meant to be the realm of the storyteller but his lyricism is horribly basic. I deserve a medal for getting through 11.5 minutes of Desolation Row. The second half is a solid improvement, but if the second half is a 2/5 and the first is a 0/5, a 1 seems fair.
Really wanky and terrible to listen to. I'm part of the "Bob Dylan's inflection is really annoying to listen to" camp. The electric side is a touch better because Dylan's boring chord progression and harmonica melodies are not as central. But not by much.

I really couldn't enjoy the first CD, his vocal swooping and very droopy harmonica were too much for me. Several times I thought "wow this guy is doing too much for his bob dylan impression" then I remembered it was bob dylan. The second CD is fun though! His talky singing works for me when there's other instruments playing. But in both halves I can't enjoy the parts where his words get really slurred & unintelligible I suspect that the first Bob Dylan album I got from the list will be my least favorite (I already know I like Freewheelin' Bob Dylan pretty well)
This album is a real hat trick of things I hate in albums: Bob Dylan (perhaps the worst singer to be famous for singing), Live Album (terrible sound quality songs that are already in other albums), and a double LP (way too long, this does not need to be an hour and a half long). Astonishingly, this album is significantly worse than Dylan's 6(!) other albums on the list, and I really see no reason for it to be on this list at all. I honestly think this may be the worst album on the list, and I really, truly wish I could give it 0 stars.

One of the most boring albums I have had the misfortune of listening to. There is no need for a song over 11 minutes. I don’t think I will ever understand the decision for a harmonica in EVERY. SINGLE. SONG! He sounds like a chain smoker with constipation.

I thought Bob Dylan could not sound worse until I heard him sing for a live performance. Holy shit, few people sound worse singing live. I should not have to hear his mouth sounds right in my ear as he practically swallows the mic. An absolutely unbearable hour and a half.
Hard to imagine anything being worse than this fraud’s studio albums, but this tuneless caterwauling manages it.

i've been good and listened to every album, but i draw the line here. i'mnot listening to a live unofficial bob dylan album. i refuse. instead i'm listening to by far the list's biggest snub, the infmaous by mobb deep. that gets a 5/5. drink away the pain is underrated.
Live albums only really work when you know the songs. I know three: desolation row (thanks mcr), mr tambourine man and like a rolling stone. I can't say I loved this. Bob Dylan is okay when recorded, but gosh lay off of the harmonica PLEASE! It's nice sometimes but not **that** much !!

I get it, Bob Dylan is a legend. He's a legendary songwriter and absolutely deserves to be part of the discussion of music history. Now that that's out of the way I'm not sure how to respond to Live 1966. I'll break it into 2 parts because its essentially two sides from the the same live show. Starting with the opening acoustic folk half it has all of the signature Dylan that confuses and annoys me. His vocal style is so out of control at times to the point where it sounds like a cartoon character. The various parodies I've heard of his style don't do justice to just how unhinged it gets in reality at times. Some people love this aspect and for me its some fun and games for a few minutes and then just kinda somber and annoying. I recognize why Dylan had an impact, but I don't personally want to suffer through it. The back half features Dylan with electric guitar and backing tracks from The Hawks/The Band featuring a lot of organ/keyboard. I definitely enjoyed the electric half of the setlist more, though that is a low bar to clear. It's got the other side of Dylan's typical schtick with harmonica and rambling vocals. Again, fine in doses but nothing I need for any extended length. I'm well aware of Bob Dylan's live music career and the way this list is constructed I should have expected some live Dylan. I think it's a deserving entry for its/his place in music history and the impact the Bob Dylan going electric had even if it isn't my cup of tea. Glad to have some background on it but not something I need to hear again. 1.47 stars
Listening to this album has me thinking there is significant meaning behind every song and I really just don’t understand. I listened to this with Will on our road trip to Indiana and we both agreed when listening that we just don’t get it. I appreciate the harmonica and now I wanna learn to play.

Given Dylan's other albums on the 1001 list, we didn't really need this Live album... sure, the contrast (an heckling) between side one and two is an interesting Wikipedia footnote, but not enough to spend 90 minutes on. One thing that I've learnt about myself during this 1001 albums journey... how much I dislike the harmonica!

A primeira vez na vida que me senti estuprado por um disco. A primeira faixa assaltou meus ouvidos com tamanha agressividade que chegou a me dar calafrios. E de lá, o abuso sonoro continuou. Quando olhei para a duração do disco para estimar se conseguiria sobreviver até o fim do espancamento, minha pressão baixou. Uma hora e meia! Pela primeira vez até então eu senti vontade de desistir de ouvir um álbum desta lista até o final, isso ainda na terceira faixa. Mas decidi manter a perseverança. Não pelo Dylan, mas por mim mesmo, que quero dizer, no final de toda a lista, que ouvi todos os seus respectivos discos até o fim, independente do quão agonizante fosse a experiência. E sim, é agonizante ouvir este álbum. É um disco torturante, ao menos pra mim. A sonoridade me machuca muito. O mais óbvio, e o que todo mundo aponta, é essa gaita que o Bob Dylan ama usar em suas canções. Geralmente, nos seus discos de estúdio, ela já me irrita mas não passa disso, uma irritação, e em algumas faixas, eu até a aprecio. Mas neste disco aqui, talvez por ele ser ao vivo, a gaita deixou de ser uma leve irritação e virou um verdadeiro abuso sexual. Além disso, temos também sons da platéia, algo típico e esperado em álbuns gravados ao vivo, mas neste disco os sons são estupidamente agravantes. Dor física mesmo. Para além das condições técnicas da gravação, a voz do Bob Dylan nunca soou tão esdrúxula pra mim quanto aqui. Esse já é o terceiro LP dele que pego na lista. Os outros dois foram o Freewheelin’ e o Blood On The Tracks. Então eu já sabia o que esperar da forma com que Dylan empregaria seus vocais, mas mesmo assim, fiquei impressionado com a forma bêbada que ele carrega suas palavras aqui, muito mais do que nos dois discos de estúdio que já ouvi até então. Combinado com a sequíssima instrumentalização (na segunda metade do álbum uma banda entra em jogo, o que acaba melhorando o disco mas não muda minha percepção geral, apenas salvou o álbum de meia estrela pra uma estrela), a gaita perfurante e noiosa, os sons da platéia, a duração tortuosamente longa, temos aqui de fato um disco terrível. Ainda aguardo um momento mágico, tal qual um relâmpago, onde de uma vez só todo o trabalho de Bob Dylan vai clicar para mim simultaneamente, e eu me tornarei um fã da noite pro dia. Mas até agora, esse momento parece sim estar extremamente distante. Álbum interminável e doloroso. 1/5
The 5th(!) Dylan record I had to endure. Whimsy-whiney americana bla. Can‘t stand it anymore. Especially as there are also a lot of Springsteen and Neil Young records in the mix..

If fans are heckling you at a concert maybe that’s a clue that you shouldn’t release this as a live album. First half was genuinely a painful waste of time. Second half was a bit more tolerable but even the harmonica seems to screech for help

Yet another reason why I hate Bob Dylan. It was not helped by it being a double album. Do people actually listen to this for enjoyment or just to annoy their pets? The only saving grace was 'Like a Rolling Stone'. I always say an artist has one classic in them and that is his. But it's not enough to give this any more than a 1 star.
I’ve always hated Bob Dylan’s voice. No slight against him, purely personal.
Just 85 minutes of annoying noise. It seems his strange singing cadence is exaggerated in his live performances. The live recording of the full band is not very well recorded, so my best description of this entire album. is "85 minutes of unpleasant noises". Why Bob needs to be on this list 7 times, I'll never know. Seems the editors lacked imagination. I have to put something on the 1001 playlist. But I don't want to. Thinking "Leopard Skin Pill-Box Hat" just because it's hard to mess up a classic blues progression. It was the least offensive to my ears.

There are 7, yeah that's right fucking SEVEN, Bob Dylan albums on this list. To be blunt, there is exactly one reason that this album is on this list, and its because it shows the response to Bob going electric because he changes to electric halfway through this album and got booed. BUDDY I was booing Bob Dylan from song one of this album, you fuckers from '66 don't got nothing on me, I'd have been revolutionary in my hating on Bob Dylan. Anyway, Bob Dylan sucks, he sings like hes making fun of himself and his songs are boring, if I'm giving Tom Waits, a 30 times more interesting artist, a 1 or 2 then poor bobby over here will live in the lowest depths of onedom. Also electric bobs better then folk bob. Allegedly someone yells "Judas" at bob at some point right before "Like a Rolling Stone" on this album but I just don't hear it, maybe they cut it out of the copy I was listening to? The wikipedia page says that the crowd was hostile to him switching to electric but both halves the crowd sounds the same to me.

This list has made me realize I really don't like Bob Dylan. He's just painful to listen to. The story behind this record, that is to say this concert, is interesting - but not really. Not enough to warrant me having to listen to it. Also, the album wasn't available on my streaming service, so I had to listen on YouTube, where all the banter and heckling between songs was apparently removed. If that's why this album is a must listen, then I am disappointed. Not in that I didn't hear it, but in why it's on this list. I think maybe I need to try listening to covers of Bob Dylan songs to maybe appreciate the songs more, because, damn, Bob Dylan is awful to listen to sing. When Jimmy Fallon does his Bob Dylan impression, it's no parody; it's a genuine and faithful imitation. Bob Dylan is a parody of himself. I'm going to skip any more Bob Dylan records on this list. Two strikes and you're out. I'm not coming back for a third.

p822. 1998. 1 star. A live double album of Bob Dylan's nasal whine. Fuck no. Not one song on this adds anything to the studio versions. The second album is better, but that's not saying much. This is only on the list because of the Judas moment, and that is NOT a good reason to listen to this abomination.
Yet more Bob Dylan. I have to say, the first disc of this album was less bad than I expected. Maybe Dylan is starting to grow on me? But the second disc was the same screechy yelling I've come to loathe so much. I don’t get it
I could not wait for the first half to be over. Too much fucking harmonica! I get he is a cultural icon, but I can not comprehend why. The second half, it was tolerable, even though according to the mythological tale that has grown up around that entire event, it was the hated portion. I sincerely hope that I am done with Bob Dylan on this list. I just do not get it.

Op track 1 begint ome Bob alweer te zingen als een totale, ik weet dat je het tegenwoordig niet meer mag zeggen maar ik kan even niet anders, mongool en na zo'n 2 minuten begint hij z'n mondharmonica bruut te verkrachten. Zoals altijd klinkt Bob alsof hij nog herstellende is van z'n zoveelste TIA danwel full blown beroerte en heeft 'ie als klap op de vuurpijl ook nog eens een verstopte neus. Ik kan niet genoeg benadrukken hoeveel ik me erger aan zijn manier van zingen. Ik weet inmiddels serieus niet meer of ik dit liever hoor dan Beach Samba en dat is echt bizar veelzeggend. Bob en z'n harmonica staan vrij hard en het gitaartje valt grotendeels weg, wat bij mij zorgt voor pure irritatie. De liveopname voegt dan ook weinig toe, behalve dat het me opvalt dat er dus blijkbaar mensen zijn die hier voor klappen. Ik ben op een punt in m'n leven dat ik geen anderhalf uur naar Bob Dylan ga zitten luisteren. Ik heb als onderdeel van deze lijst al drie albums van hem gehad en ik vond ze alle drie om te huilen. Dan gaat dit album m'n mening niet veranderen. Na zo'n 20 minuten heb ik het opgegeven. Het leven is te kort en te kostbaar. Dit album gaat me geen nieuwe inzichten geven. Niemand hoeft vier Dylan albums te luisteren voor het sterven. Niemand. Totale overkill. Fuck zeg.
I do not like Bob Dylan’s style
I like Bob Dylan but this was cheeks. Singing was bad, and not even the good type of bad like on his studio albums. Like a rolling stone is one of my favorite songs and he absolutely butchered it. This live album has no business being in this list. What is special about this that i needed to hear this instead just listening to the far superior studio albums?
I really don't like Bob Dylan's voice. It's strained and whiney, and he slides his pitches all over the place. It just flat out does not sound good. When he doesn't strain, whine, or slide his pitch, it actually sounds pretty good. The issue is he slides his pitch at the end of every line and pushes his voice frequently for lyrical/musical emphasis. If his voice wasn't so bad, I would really like his music. He's an excellent guitar player and maybe an even better harmonica player. I also generally love music from this era (Peter, Paul, and Mary and The Mamas & The Papas being two of my favorite bands). The second half of the album helps a touch. The instrumental sections get even better and easier to listen to. Unfortunately, at this point I'm so sick and tired of Dylan's voice that I'm taping out. DID NOT FINISH
This experience has provided me with vital information - that Bob Dylan is the measure of all music, as I don’t believe within infinite universes that there will ever be a professional musician as poor as Bob Dylan. I’d rather listen to the screeching of a thousand and one cats with constipation.
Oh my god. His voice is just terrible. From the first few seconds of the album all the way through minute 90(!!!!!). His nasality and generally lazy vocal delivery quash any chance his lyrical ability had at shining through. Also, the harmonica is at a level beyond grating, and the entire first half of the album is painfully driveling accoustic folk. The second half of the album finally shows some energy, but no amount of average rock can save the travesty that is the first half of this record. Overall, this album is pure torture; a test of endurance that only the most masochistic person would put themselves through.
Take Bob Dylan out of a studio setting and make him live, and what do you get?! You get even more irritated, that's what. But seriously, unfiltered Dylan basically equates to even more nasal droning and even more harmonica, two of the qualities I can't stand in him. Enough is enough with all the fucking Bob Dylan on this project.

I can’t deal with that voice, I’m sure I’d really enjoy these songs if they were covered by talented singers. Unfortunately it was like listening to Johnny cash after a stroke in parts and the rest was reminiscent of a pissed bloke doing karaoke. It’s concerning that he was able to sing a disc worth of songs and they still allowed him to sing on disc 2. To top it off the average run time for each track felt like 10 minutes, I am angry that I had to endure 89 minutes of this shit
Truly horrible stuff, my heart sank when I saw the album, and I wish it had stopped whilst listening to it.

(I feel like Bob is a name he would like fans, warm acquaintances and friends to use, I am quite literally none of those things) I'm struggling to find anything positive to say about this album, other than the fact it did eventually end. Robert's voice is something of an acquired taste, in the same way that mercury probably is- and it felt like it was being dripped into my system, one inane tune at a time. Despite sounding like a cross between a human groan tube and a plastic bag that was having the air squeezed out of it, you might think there was some solace to be had in the lyricism, for which I understand Robert is supposedly renowned. No. The lyrics for the most part were diffuse and without any obvious meaning.. and I'm not buying into this deeper meaning, or reading between the lines bollocks. I'm not listening to a man squeezing air out of his face for an hour and a half, to then be expected to do some DIY and build my own meaning out of the cheap, flat pack audible horseshit that has been slopped into my ears. Every now and then Robert, pick up your end of the couch and tell me what you're waffling on about. You'd think that was it.. but wait there's more! The final nail in the coffin for me, was the incessant use of the harmonica. There's a time and place for the harmonica, which for Robert would appear to be everywhere and all of the time on this album. There's a reason tramps, prisoners and those weird bumpkins that hang around in train carriages in the old west use the harmonica, it's not because it sounds fantastic, it's because it's easy to carry. Use a different instrument from time to time, Robert.. instead of just blowing air into a piece of shrapnel and setting my dog off howling for the best part of two hours. All in all I enjoyed the album and can't wait to not listen to it again. 1/5 stars
Even a turkey with a harmonica stuck in it's wattle can write good songs. However the good ones didn't feature much on this, it was an incredibly tedious listen.
Can't fall asleep to this, because the 500dB harmonica could wake up an Ancient Egyptian pharaoh from his thousand year long slumber. Can't rock out to this, because it's 90 minutes of Bob Dylan mumbling about the time he got an extra chicken nugget in his Happy Meal or something. Can't have shit. Stuck in perpetual limbo. Somehow I've never listened to Bob Dylan sing before now. I've heard plenty of covers of his songs. I know he's a phenomenal writer. But I've never heard his voice. I've been told by people that have seen him live recently and they've commented on how awful he sounds NOW.... I've never known how awful he sounded 60 years ago. Wtf??? Why did anyone bother listening to this guy? Did anybody ever sit him down and say, "Bobby, just stick to writing songs"???? And who the hell gave him a harmonica??? I just listened to muddy waters and the harmonica on that album was crisp, clean, and smoking. This was trash

Look, if I were smarter I’m sure I’d appreciate the hell outta Bob Dylan’s lyrics but if I listened to music for lyrics then I’d read a book or some poems. I do not hear a cat in a blender as my inner voice while reading so why subject myself to that in music?

Odd, very formal live album. I'm not huge on Dylan. The Dylan songs I like are the ones other artists cover. I wouldn't really seek thus out or leave it on if it was on the radio.

I have never enjoyed anything about Dylan. I'm at a complete loss as to why anyone wants to intentionally listen to him. His voice is like gravel scraping the bottom of a dirty pot.
This man is a talentless scrotum and a live album is not an album.
I mean, the history of this performance is fairly interesting, but I don't think that's a good enough excuse to put this on a \"Must Listen To Album\" list, especially because it's just a worse quality version of songs already *on* this list. That's like putting a mediocre book on a \"Must Read\" list because the pages were printed with marinara sauce instead of ink. Sure, the making of the album was interesting, but that doesn't supersede the averageness of the book itself.
I absolutely hate the first half (acoustic, solo|) of this. It's so dull and the singing through his nose is appalling. To be fair, Side 2/Disc 2 (the electric side, with band) is more interesting (although apparently a lot of the audience didn't approve). I still don't like his delivery or subject matter, even on Side 2. It's a bit of a mess.

I quite like a few Bob Dylan tracks in isolation, but his vocals really grate after 1-2 tracks which make a whole album in one sitting like a weird form of torture. He gives an unusual cadence to his lyrics and an unpredictable syllable emphasis that swings from too little to too much, all too rapidly. All things considered, it makes for an uncomfortable listening experience.

They realized they can get money from the bootleg, so they sanitized it and stripped it of all the things that makes it "bootleg-y". The background and historical context of this one and a half hour live album is much more interesting than the music itself.

Нет, ну... Я всегда знал, что у Боба Дилана немного гнусавый и как-бы "невнятный" голос. И это придавало ему особый шарм и сексуальность, но когда этого было в меру. С гармошкой тоже забавно: иногда супер в тему, а иногда (видимо из-за плохой записи) она будто иголки в твоих ушах. Я ждал лучшего. Можно конечно сделать скидку на то, что это бутлег. Но! Какого хрена вы тогда бутлеги добавляете в список альбомов? Разве что показать, как раньше распространялась музыка кустарными методами...
впечатление первых 10 секунд: какой-то вайб квартирника, брыньки такие забавные. впечатления после: аааа, это батя собрал семью и вспоминает как в музыкалке 40 лет назад учился (уроки вокала жоска проебывались, остальное в целом нормас). и вот он играет, играет, играет. а ты заебываешься. но в начале второй половины он выдает неплохое соло (соре не помню где конкретно, я в прострации внетрековой уже был), так что 1+

Ugh, I knew it wouldn't be too long before I got a Bob Dylan album. I can appreciate him as a great songwriter. However, his voice has always irritated me. I tried going into this with an open mind, but the harmonica in She belong To Me was so painful. I could use it as an effective alarm on my phone. I honestly struggled to make it past the first few songs because the harmonica is just so obnoxious. I'll have to see if I can tolerate the studio versions of these songs, but I just can't get through these live versions.

Gosh damn, never thought I’d have three 1s in a row, but looking at this recent run I can see why now. My buddy and I have a bit every once and awhile we’re we imitate Bob Dylan’s annoying voice. That’s the only enjoyment I will have with this artist. Make it a live album and now I’m totally checked out. Wish I could give it a zero.

No. Are we cursed? Did one of us dig up a forbidden idol or trinket from a lost civilization, drawing the ire of an angry god? I just realized this is our fourth live album in a span of two weeks (our third in the last five albums!). Not only that, but it's Bob Dylan, an artist who is undeniably represented on this list with SEVERAL studio albums. Here's what I did with this "album" - I trimmed it down to the songs that aren't featured on Dylan albums that we've already gotten on the list. That brings this to only four tracks. If you trim further to songs that don't appear on any studio albums, it's just one. I'm sorry, but do we need this at all? '60s Dylan is my favorite Dylan, and truly a legendary artist, but 11 times out of 10 if I want to hear '60s Dylan I'm putting on a studio album. I don't care how magical the experience of seeing him live might have been back then, that's a privilege that the people who went to his shows should get to keep to themselves. At the very least, it shouldn't be included on a list of 1001 albums to listen to before you die because IT'S NOT AN ALBUM. Coming from someone who honestly loves a big chunk of Dylan's work (I've given at least one album from him a 5-star rating, and a couple others 4.5 stars), I have to say that including this on the list is even more embarrassing than including Time Out of Mind. I'm ashamed on behalf of whoever put this here. Favorite tracks: One Too Many Mornings (in the last month that I've woken up to see a live album assigned. Someone needs to get in trouble for this). Album art: OoooOOooH, it's a picture of Bob Dylan, big whoop. Grow up, we do not care. Also what the hell is the deal here, this was recorded in 1966 and not "released" until 1998? I don’t like his voice. I get that he’s a great musician and songwriter, but my hands are tied when i can’t get past the voice. And there was a LOT of harmonica, which just made my headache worse. I did persevere and noticed that the timbre of his voice changed a bit on the plugged in tunes. A bit more palatable but not much.
I think that harmonica might send me into therapy.

I made it through, but needed a few breaks so I wouldn't pull out my own teeth. I'm going to be pissed if my Spotify starts adding this guy to any of the "made for you" playlist. Scored a 1 because I don't know how to make a zero. Are the negative scores?? Sorry I listened and hope I never have to hear this guy again.

Another classic, but there I must say I'm disappointed with the experience. I see a lot of wasted potential here, or maybe there wasn't any potential at all? The use of harmonica was an interesting choice, but it worked with the music and that's I think the best thing for me in that album. Overall, I found the music... fine? Like, it's pleasant, nothing wrong with it, but it's just boring and monothematic. It's like listening to the same thing over and over again. I think with 15 tracks you can show off much more than just very quiet and monotonous music. Also, Bob Dylan has a very weird voice, that almost sounds like it's forced. Some may say that the man doesn't know how to sing, but I don't have a strong opinion about that. I couldn't figure out any of the lyrics of those songs, but when I finally read them it made sense, it was well-written, but the singing style covered it all, unfortunately. I can't point out any most and least favourite tracks, they all sound the same.
