Reviews (page 4 of 16)

i love love love fleetwood mac. definitely one of my favourite albums of all time. pure perfection.

An enduring classic that sounds perfect and has a story more fascinating than the record.

This album is full of hits and has j no on bad tracks. Truly a classic - so much variety from song to song that it doesn’t get old, and the album as a whole is short and sweet. While I already knew all the popular tracks, this was my first time listening to the full album and it’s probably jumped into my top 20 of all time.

Great classic album. The three different song writers creates variety which is good.

oh the best

Just one of the best albums of all time

Альбом заїбісь,я ніколи не слухав його повністю,мені зашов 9/10

Pretty good. TBH dare i say it its a little overhyped, like its a 5 star album but its not the best 5 star album ive ever heard, still decent tho

Iconic. No skips. Legendario

Banger alert God I love The Chain; vocals on the songs in this album are out of this world. I forgot how many good songs were on this album. Don’t think I need to elaborate much on why Only flaw is that it’s only 40 mins long. This is actually the highest user rated album out of all 1000+ albums on this list. Definitely a high bar to clear

Yeah its really good

I can see why this album has a deluxe and super deluxe version of it. This album is just all of the vibes shoved into an album thats honestly too short. I actually knew more songs on this album than I thought I knew, but I never listened to the entire album and I’m disappointed in myself for that. I also can’t put into words how good this album is, all I can say is that the vibes are immaculate when listening to this album.

I love this album. For me, it's one of the greatest albums of all time and one of the records I will reach for on a lazy Sunday.

Christine McVie’s songs the only bad ones. This album is one of the best albums ever. Silver Springs should have been included on the original album.

9.0/10 I totally missed the boat on Fleetwood Mac..didn’t listen to this full album until a year ago. This is a huge favourite for me. Tons of bangers on this one!

already know and love this one definitely one of my all time favorites fun, heartbreaking and powerful songs all in one very raw lyrics considering most of them are basically dialogues between two members of the band go your own way, dreams, the chain, gold dust woman >>>

It’s pretty perfect

Dare I say: perfect album?

I remember my Dad buying me this album from a record shop, when I first got into music big time. It has a massive coffee stain on it but I think it adds character. Outstanding bit of music, I don’t think there is a single bad track. I love the character the album has, with the break up tension you can hear on the record and in the lyrics. It’s common knowledge the drug abuse that was surrounding this album too. They still managed to create a timeless piece of music that has entertained generations, and will continue to do so for many more years. It’s raw emotion in every track and it provided us fans with some of the most beautiful music of the 70’s. I also find it so amusing they went a huge world wide tour after this album. The band plays amazing. Imagine having 3 vocalists, every one brings something different to the table and every one of them delivers quality, with different ranges and sounds. Obviously there is John McVie, who delivers that incredible bass line in ‘The Chain’. And lastly Mick Fleetwood blasting out those iconic drums. All incredible and all very talented. Notice there’s a lot of favourite tracks below. Favourite tracks are: ‘Dreams’, ‘Never Going Back Again’, ‘Don’t Stop’, ‘Go Your Own Way’, ‘The Chain’, ‘You Make Loving Fun’, ‘Oh Daddy’, and ‘Gold Dust Woman’.

finally some women

A wonderful collection of tracks that range in tone from cheery to haunting to reverently delicate. The production is strong throughout but perhaps weakest in Dont Stop and Go Your Own Way, whose catchy anthems don't measure up with the rich layers heard in Second Hand News and Oh Daddy. Stevie is always the highlight, and she builds Gold Dust Woman to an enchanting cacophony that splits beautifully at the seams to end the record. Enjoyed the album more with each listen.

amazing! a favorite. top tracks are second hand news, the chain, and gold dust woman. never gets old

It is always wonderful to get an album you are familiar with and already love. It makes the experience a little bit different and really force you to focus on it deeper. Stevie Nicks is an angel and her vocals are unique and so full of character emotion. However, we can't overlook Christine. She has such a beautiful voice and is the hidden gem in the group. The songs lyrics are just so amazing and deep. Favs are the Chain, Gold Dust Women and You Make Loving Fun. There sound, even today, is so unique and different but so wonderful. The other thing that stands out with this group (and album) is how much is written about break ups and romance and they were all romantically intertwined with one another and members of the band and crew. They worked on these songs separately about their own emotions and they can all get together and flawlessly work through those emotions to create a really special beautiful album.

A few things that I’ve noticed while listening to Rumours for the millionth time that tend to be overlooked in its popular lore: Lindsey Buckingham holds this entire thing together. There’s no doubt that Stevie’s songs are amazing, but without his production and attention to detail, would they be as big as they are?Secondly, Christine McVie sits quietly in the background pumping out songs that transcend most modern music. It’s sort of scary how good, and yet sublime, that she is. Next, the three part vocal harmonies here (and in all of the records that they worked on together) give me the God chills. These three voices were blessed by the universe and were always meant to be heard together. Lastly, the deep cuts hold up better over a million listens than the hits do, sans Go Your Own Way, which is as perfect as a hit can get. The run from I Don’t Want To Know to Gold Dust Woman is unreal in its perfection. Like, HOW WAS THIS CREATED FROM NOTHING?!? Gold Dust Woman so perfectly and powerfully captures cocaines destruction. It’s mean, dark and unapologetic. My jaw always sits on the floor when in its presence. All of this is to say that there is no question this album is a 5 through and through. Hell, it’s a 10. It boasts perfect songwriting, perfect production and perfect lore. Most musicians would sell their soul to create something as timeless and beloved as this set of songs. It is the reason why people still attempt making art in album form. It will always be relevant to every generation moving forward.

At long last! Almost two years to the day since I started this project, the highest rated album finally makes its appearance. Yay. :) Fleetwood Mac is the ultimate comfort food of music. I love them so much, and this album is just another shining example of their brilliance. One beautiful song after another. Drugs and emotional turmoil mixed into a legendary group of talented musicians is apparently a recipe for magic!

Not my favorite, but they’re really good

This was a lock to be on there, and a lock to be a five in my book. I grew up with this, but I would argue that to this day everybody loves Fleetwood Mac and I am no exception. This is full of bangers, heart, scale, different sounds, I see ambition in the pop dominance, and I feel that the blend of the band is exceptional. I love almost every song on there, if Oh Daddy wasn't on there it would be perfect, best ever. But overall, I always found it amazing, and there is something I deeply respect in that it is for everyone, forever. That is the most difficult thing to do, and it is done absolutely masterfully here.

The rare perfect album. No notes.

Such a fantastic listen!

One great song after another.

Elsker. 100/10

Fav track- Gold Dust Woman and The Chain Least fav track- Oh Daddy Fav Lyric- “If your life was bad to you, just think what tomorrow will do.” Overall rating- 10/10 Notes- I LOVE this album omg

I’ve heard this album in entirety over the years, but never listened to it front to back until now. Fleetwood Mac has always had a big place in my life, so the magic of these songs hit no differently today. I completely understand why this is one of the best albums of all time. I would go as far as saying Fleetwood Mac is one of the best bands of all time.

bien sûr love it mon classique ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Perfect work of art. No skips. Timeless.

4,5-5 Jah peak hé. Kwist trouwens niet dat Go Your Own Way van Fleetwood Mac was.

Clearly one of the best albums ever. Well composed, well played, versatile, no bad songs.

I've been wondering when this might hit for me. I have always liked Fleetwood Mac, but I don't worship them. Really talented band (playing, singing, and songwriting) and very complicated. It's the latter piece that helps them stand out in many ways, and it's really what makes this album so amazing. This record, front to back, is a no skip one for me. When the worst song on here is a track that would be one of the best on any given artist's solo record (Songbird), it speaks to how strong the band is as a collective. Tons of hits on here, including The Chain, Don't Stop, Dreams, Go Your Own Way, You Make Loving Fun. But the other tracks like Gold Dust Woman, Oh Daddy, Never Going Back Again are just incredible in their own right. 40 million in album sales can't be wrong, and they are not. An incredible record. A clear 5 stars.

Favorite songs: Second Hand News, Dreams, Don't Stop, Go Your Own Way, The Chain, You Make Loving Fun, I Don't Want to Know, Gold Dust Woman

4.5 - Great

In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.

100/10 a masterpiece everytime I listen to it, Fleetwood mac has very unique sounding songs and I'll always love them!

Super Dope

Non biased (o sí) el mejor album de la historia. Para escuchar canciones sueltas, para escucharlo de corrido, de fondo o prestando atención. Es acorde a cualquier situación, momento y lugar.

Classic album! One of my all time favorites with strong appearances from all band members. Melodies and tunes are iconic for their era.

Probably one of my most favorite albums of all time. So excited this one popped up today

Classic 9.5/10 2026/1/2

this record has changed fundamentally as a person. every track here has accompanied me in a special way over the years with very prestigious and beloved memories it's always a privilege to hear it back to back 💗

Superb album that sounds better now than it did in the 70's. I'd rather Fleetwood Mac. Tensions are alway evident in the lyrics. Really sorry I didn't get to see them live.

One of the greatest albums of all time. Not one of my personal favorites, but I can't give it anything but four stars and above. I just finished listening and I'll do my rating tomorrow. I'm conflicted because there are a couple of songs I don't really like, but, let's be honest, this thing was a damned hit for a reason.

A beautiful soft rock album that showed me the wonders of the genres. Not much to say really. Fantastic album that offers a well connected and lean track list. Stevie nicks, I love you to death.

LOVE IT

fave: the chain least fave: songbird

one of the greats!! every track deserves it's place here. Not many albums can claim that each track is arguably engrained into society. It's a fun, effortless listen and I don't think that's a bad thing. Stevie nicks, drugs, and breakups. gimme more!

Simply the best - the deluxe version with silver springs brings me back to college when my sister was obsessed with this album and I was going to college at the university of Maryland right next to silver springs and she came to visit. I love many of the songs on the album, which definitely leads me to skipping some, like oh daddy. Never going back again is underrated in my opinion, though it’s hard to beat dreams and go your own way for the best songs on the album.

perfect album from start to finish

Every time I listen to this album I forget about Oh Daddy. I don’t enjoy that song, but the rest of this album more than make up for it. Easy 5/5.

In general I like Tusk more, but this one is also good

Rumours? Nope — all true

I love this album so much I can sing every song by heart and I own it on vynal

absolutely LOVE this album #fleetwood mac for life

maybe my favourite album in the entire world

One of the best records of all time!

Let’s freaking go I love this album

A truly great album that I am ashamed to say I haven’t listed to in ages, despite having it in multiple forms. One to listen to again soon and make sure it is in my regular rotation.

“You will never get away from the sound of the woman that loved you.” Justice for “Silver Springs”! I think this album is perfect but would have swapped “Oh Daddy” for “Silver Springs” in a second. I don’t blame Stevie for freaking out in the studio when they said it wasn’t going to make the album. If I’d written a song like that and learned it was getting cut I’d go apeshit too. I always include it at the end of my listen when I revisit this album. Glad to finally get ‘Rumours’ and glad to hear that it’s still an all-timer. Mess doesn’t always make for good art, but sometimes it does make for great art.

Got this on Christmas Eve, felt like an early present! Incredible incredible album, definitely deserves its place at the top. Songs added to playlist: - Second Hand News - Dreams - Songbird - The Chain - I Don't Want to Know

Is there a better album? Grew up listening to this and the songs still get a lot of time in my playlists. The Chain, Gold Dust Woman, Go Your Own Way are outstanding, but every song is great. A perfect album.

Averaged: 8/10 album Favorite: Never Going Back Again

Classic, amazing

'Dreams' is pretty mid. The best compositions are the Buckingham ones. Hillary should have used ‘Second Hand News’ as her campaign song.

Not every song on this is 5/5, imo, but most are, and the album as a whole is really excellent. The band sounds great, and the length is just right. C'mon. It's Rumours!

There is nothing revolutionary about Rumours. It did not fracture convention or usher in a new genre. Instead, it performs a rarer feat: it distills an entire era of popular music into a near-perfect forty-minute experience. As the relationship between Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks unraveled, its emotional fallout was transmuted into songwriting steeped in tension, longing, and quiet melancholy. Every track is instantly recognizable, immaculately polished, and disarmingly accessible. Rumours never asks much of the listener, nor does it strain for profundity, but that restraint is part of its power. The musicianship and songwriting are impeccable, reaching their apex in moments like “The Chain,” where the album finds its emotional and sonic center. There is the sunlit California drift of “Dreams,” the haunted wilderness of “Gold Dust Woman.” Rumours endures not because it challenged its audience, but because it trusted them, standing as the quintessential rock album of the 1970s: mass appeal without condescension, intimacy without excess.

It's a stonewall classic.

Time and again I've found myself in conversations about music where someone describes some record as either (a) "one of the best records of all time," or, as (b) "the best record of all time." This is always a big claim; it's also invariably wrong. I had to find a way to point this out in a way that wasn't aggressive and/or cuntish. I needed a baseline. I needed a record that everyone agrees is great that could then be used as a yardstick for greatness. 'Rumours' is that yardstick. Example: Kevin: "I have to say it; 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' is one of the best albums ever!' Me: "I don't think so." Kevin: "It definitely is." Me: "Is it better than 'Rumours'?" Kevin: "...no, probably not." Me: "Is 'Rumours' the best album ever?" Kevin: "...no..." Me: "But it's probably in the top 15, right?" Kevin: "Right!" Me: "So 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill isn't a top 15 album." This argument has served me well for the last five years. It'll serve me well forever.

A real heavy-weight in the greatest albums of all time! Even though there are a couple of weaker tracks here, I find it easy to listen to the album the whole way through with hitting the skip button! But seriously, what's up with the balls between Mick's legs? A little cheesy in places, but still a classic then and now - 5 out of 5

Finally. A true all time classic GOAT album. I don’t have to listen because I’ve heard it 1000 times in the last year but I’m going to because that’s how great it is. Second hand news is a great opener. Sets the tone and sounds like an intro. Incredible harmonies. Great production as we’ll see throughout the album. Electric guitar is subtle but adds so much. Wish I got more of that outro is my one critique. No notes on dreams. Great song, one if not the best on the album. Songwriting is so good. Production is so good. Guitar on never going back again is so good. Just another great song. Harmony too🔥🔥. Not long enough. And then into don’t stop. Piano and electric guitar carry. Great songwriting as we see throughout. Have to five love to the bass line on go your own way. Song is so damn catchy. Almost perfect. 1 of 4/5 perfect songs on the album. Guitar solo at the end is simple but so effective. Songbird might be my least favoraite in the album but that’s saying something because it’s still a great song. Again great blend of piano and guitar. Also incredible vocals. Need a song like this to lead into the chain. Which brings me to my next point. The chain is one of the best songs of all time. It’s hard to describe why but it just is. From the very first bass drum kick it’s perfect. The production, the vocal harmonies, the songwriting it’s just great. Not only that but it keeps getting better as it goes. I wish it would never end. You make loving fun is another banger, just hard to follow up the chain. Great production. Very poppy. I don’t want to know is so good too, but feels a little out of place. Feels very fun, surrounded by much more emotional songs. Good pallet cleanser. Oh daddy I so emotional but still makes me want to hear more. The production once again is so good. So many musical layers. And a perfect ender with gold dust woman. Guitar is so good. Lyrics are so catchy. Perfect encapsulation of the album as a whole. Again, never want this song to end. It’s an easy 5 stars. Top to bottom incredible album. Only 1 of a few that will get a 5.

One of the best albums of all time, full stop.

straight bangers no weak points

ICONIC 5/5

Classic album one of the best

This is just sublime. Everything working together perfectly from start to finish. Oh Daddy is maybe the only slight dip.

Enough Said. A masterpiece for a reason

I was a big fan of a few songs on this album going in, and the rest while not as iconic didn't disappoint.

I'm kinda surprised how much I like this album. Go Your Own Way and Dreams are obviously great, by the whole thing feels really thoughtful and has a nice variety with their rotation of lead singers. I was gonna give it a 4 but Dani convinced me to give it a 5.

its hard to occupy a frame of mind where you havent already heard each of these songs one million times in one thousand different summer blockbusters and car commercials and grocery store aisles but it really is just pretty excellent. i cant come up with any particular criticism that either makes sense or feels right. favorite song at this specific point in time (one of the couple i havent heard before, also just a very cool song) is Oh Daddy

Rating: 10/10 Maybe the perfect classic pop rock record, an obvious classic with a collection of hits that would be the #1 song most bands have ever made, along with deeper cuts that almost never miss. If there was any weak point on the album, maybe Oh Daddy? And Silver Springs is a must listen when you play Rumours. A lot of songs that are basically impossible to get out of your head once they become stuck in it after listening

Very good

Perfection

Phenomenal album! So many bangers, even Bill Clinton couldn’t ruin it by overplaying one (“Don’t Stop” was his campaign song). Lindsey Buckingham’s playing is so evocative. And, in my book, Stevie Nicks may be the most underrated, overrated-singer around. Her backing harmonies are really fantastic. On this listen through, I finally appreciated Christine McVie’s torch songs — she’s a great singer and they provide needed ballast to the album. This is a strong 5.

Is this album really under 40 minutes? This is how you vacuum pack quality. For a man with dubious skills himself, Mick Fleetwood definitely knew how to surround himself with talent. He's basically a CEO of every big successful multinational. Great songs. Even the ones I didn't realise were on this album. It deserves its success.

A 70s rock classic. Only one song is not instantly recognizable and even that song is still good.

lets fucking go. one of the greatest. just hit after hit goddamn i love fleetwood mac

Absolutely phenomenal album, I can’t believe I’ve never heard it in one sitting.

Hard to believe that the record continues to get better and better over the course of the first 8 songs - songbird into the chain is crazy - absolutely gorgeous song that hints at something powerful that’s more revealed in the chain. “I Don’t Want to Know” is the singular song on this record that doesn’t entirely grip me. “Oh Daddy”, which follows, would never be one of the most popular songs on this record, but it’s a song that provides important context. Shows more of the bands range and where they can take things. The instrumental section is one of the most exciting parts of the record for me. Also the guitar playing on this record is just incredible. Masterful at times in whimsy playfulness, and in impassioning western psychedelic twang. What a band! Listened to on 63 bus

I can’t name many albums that minute-for-minute deliver as much great songwriting as “Rumours” does. “Dreams” is such a gorgeous song. One of the best ever written and it never gets old. It has that undercurrent of heartbreak and longing but it’s powerful, cathartic music too. I’ve heard this album plenty of times, but it really unlocked something in me this time. “Songbird” made me tear up. And the climax of “The Chain” is overwhelming. That guitar solo is amazing! Fleetwood Mac take country and folk music and reach deep into the genres to pull out the most soulful emotions those styles have to offer. Then they turn it into stadium-sized rock with big anthems and gorgeous melodies. Terrific music. Probably a top 10 album. I wouldn’t call you crazy if you ranked it #1.

One of those records that you see the album art pop up and immediately go "hell yes". So excited to hear it today. The guitar parts, vocals, the dynamic changes, the vibe.. on the right day it's a perfect album for me. What a great story behind this record too. I can't imagine the tension from the relationship dynamics. Stevie and Lindsey are in the midst of breaking up, Christine and John are divorcing, and Mick is going through a divorce as well. What a crazy cauldron of emotions to be swirling around in one room! I find it really incredible that Stevie can write a song like "Dreams" about her relationship with Lindsey, and then he can write "Go Your Own Way" about the relationship from his perspective, and BOTH songs are INCREDIBLE. It's a testament to the talent of this band and how it's not just one phenomenal songwriter with a band behind them; it's multiple phenomenal songwriters. There's a production quality on this album that I've been chasing my whole music life. It's so warm and intimate with songs like "Dreams" with a production that really captures the incredibly dour shifting maj7 chords (and that "almost an octave" tension that comes from this chord type that lingers on and on) and the soft drumset and droning pedal steel guitar, and of course Stevie's heart breaking vocals. I swear, around 2:30 into the song it sounds like she just got done crying, specially on the lyric "mad". Ugh it's amazing emotion! Then "Go Your Own Way" is colder, more epic, and intense, and yet it still works in the album. It's so different yet cohesive with the overall sound. I also absolutely adore the fretless bass playing on this one. Super tasteful. Instant 5/5, one of my favorite albums of all time, probably somewhere in top 15-20 for me.

Not only did I get one of the best albums of the decade. I also got the post album AI streaming tracks of great songs from the period. A good time for me!

Legendarisk album

PEAK musik, et af de bedste album nogensinde og et af de første jeg købte på vinyl (fun fact) ;)

It’s so beautiful 🥹🥹

Fav tracks aside from the obvious - Don’t Stop,

A BANGER ALBUM no skips loooove it Know almost all of the songs before listening to it and the ones I didn’t know pleasantly surprised me. Top3: 1. You make loving fun 2.Go your own way 3. Never going back again

The drum and base for the chain was so good. Enjoyed the voice harmony for gold women dust.

Klassiker

One of the best albums of all time

I die to imagine hearing this for the first time

An album I knew well from my early listening history. The big hits (Go Your Own Way, You Make Loving Fun, Don't Stop, The Chain) are embedded in my permanent memory, but while I remembered songs like Oh Daddy and Gold Dust Woman, I had forgotten just how GOOD they were. Other than Second Hand News (which is cromulent but suffers from being surrounded by gold), this album is just one brilliantly-crafted song after another, and it well deserves its spot on the Mount Rushmore of classic rock albums.

Obvious and quintessential classic album.

More bands should document their messy relationships and make sick ass music rather than just breaking up. So much more fun. Anyway my favourites are Dreams and The Chain. Bit basic but they’re popular for a reason!! My favs as well! Really good album to listen to the whole way through. Sadly Go Your Own Way has still been ruined for me from that one ad. Still a fun listen

Best Fleetwood Mac album with their best song (You Make Loving Fun), the whole album is banger after banger. Makes me want to wear some enormous sleeves and twirl around

Excellent I liked all of the songs

Not a bad song on it. Written, performed, and recorded perfectly. Pop rock that tells a sad story

It's not my favourite album of all time but it's hard to say it's not (one of) the best. 6/5

One of the most 5 of them all. I've seen it on the toplists, and its place is fully deserved. Really not much to say, there is not a single dud on the album. Favourites are go your own way and the chain.

oh how i love you

Un classique. No skip albums. Redécouverte de songbird 10/10.

1000/10 DUHHHH!!!!

Me gustaton varias canciones, muchas no sabia que eran de ellos.

So so good, I expect nothing less of fleetwood mac

Oh fuck yeah. The more you give people, the more chances they have to be disappointed. Each song is unique. The whole album is nostalgic, I do remember the CD sitting in mom's car. They just don't make 'em like this every decade. Birthed of a rich, multinational musical background, Fleetwood Mac have a universal sound that is elevated to celestial by Stevie Nicks. What more is there to say?

One of the best albums I’ve heard!! Great songs.

Top ten album, Stevie is a goddess 10/10

Love love love this

This is an album I know very well. To me it's a timeless classic. Whilst created in the 1970's it doesn't sound like a 70's album to me, although perhaps that's because I've listened to it so often in the decades since its release. It's a great combination of styles, vocal and instrumental with meaningful lyrics, even more so if you understand the background to them. Stevie Nicks vocals on Rumours and Gold Dust Woman are distinctive and wonderful. Christine McVie's vocals, particularly on Songbird (my favourite song on the album) are great too. Guitars on Go Your Own Way and the end of The Chain (immortalised by Formula 1) are very special. It's an album I often go back to and one I tend to listen to end to end, unlike others where I dip on for the odd song here and there.

Super classic 10/10 goated album

A gem.

Well, here it is. The highest rated album on this list and possibly the biggest soft dad rock record. While I might go for their self titled or even Tusk before Rumours, this one is pretty hard to argue with.

Car died and almost crashed into the freezing snow during this album. Absolutely amazing

Never listened all the way through before but this is excellent stuff.

Another album that makes me wonder if I need to listen more to know the band. All the hits and some hidden gems.

# Playlist Track - Gold Dust Woman # Notes - Even if you don't know anything about the drama and the chaos around this album, this is a pretty damn good one. - Great lyrics, execution, catchy songs. The whole deal. One of the few albums that you really really should listen to before you die.

One of the top-to-bottom best albums ever, in my opinion. The lore behind album is so interesting in itself. How they were ever to put aside their internal issues and come together to produce such an iconic album is incredible. Top tracks: All of them, but top are: Secondhand News, Don't Stop (bop), The Chain, Gold Dust Woman

It's Rumors. I'm not gonna over think this one

Iconic! This album is always a winner. One of those super special musical moments captured for us to enjoy.

Is it possible to give 6 stars? Possibly the most perfect album ever, it has become a meme for success. "Just like Rumours, every one a hit".

Strong 4,5

i mean like do i even need to say anything

Iconic

Its Rumours. It's damned near perfect, basically.

every song is a banger

Album top, tot de ruptures hahah. Cançons que me sonavem i que m'agraden molt: Dreams i Go your own way. Me recorda la vibe a Dasy Jones and The six.

Fun catchy easy badass technical stupid pop

All time classic, loads of hits, variety of mood and tempo, One of the best ever.

TOP 10 ALBUM OF ALL TIME.

One of my favourite albums of all time. Back to back with absolute classics (we are going to ignore “Oh Daddy” for this purpose). This album could easily have been overshadowed by all the chaos going on behind the scenes, yet it’s not. Or maybe that’s what made it so magic. So many of these songs, like “Dreams” and “Go Your Own Way”, remain radio staples in the almost 50 years since this was released, but the standouts for me are “The Chain”, a song with one of the most recognisable bass lines in history, “Songbird”, which only works as a Fleetwood Mac song due to the gutting, softer vocals of Christine McVie, and my fav, “Gold Dust Woman.”

This is, as far as I'm concerned, a perfect album. It hits that beautiful combination of being an album I'm very nostalgic about, as both my parents loved it and played it a lot when I was young, and being an album that's also genuinely great. I love that the voices meld beautifully and that different songs have different genders taking the lead vocals so there's a real variety in sounds. I like the simplicity of Songbird recorded in an empty echoy room. I adore Go Your Own Way which was a particular parental favourite. I love that The Chain turns into the theme tune to the BBC's coverage of Formula One for most of my life, thus making me think it's the weekend. This album absolutely deserves it's spot in the global rankings vying for the topspot with The Beatles. 5/5

One of my favorite things a pop album can do is absolutely fucking rip when it needs to. Obviously all the hooks and harmonies on this are excellent, but the bits and pieces of flashy guitar work take this from "great" to "all-timer" for me.

you really can't write a cheating break up album better than this Would I listen again: Yes. Deserves to be on this list: Yes. 4.8

Seeing that this is the top rated album of the entire 1001 albums generator project, it's difficult not to want to be a contrarian and give it a lower score than 5. That's crazy, though. It's Rumours! It's a fantastic album, emotionally fraught and wall to wall certified hits. There never has and never will be another album like it.

Hell fuckin ya

The height of commercially accessible 70s rock.

This is the perfect pop rock album. Two all time great vocalist in Nicks and Buckingham (and pretty good one in McVie), Buckingham’s incredible guitar work, beautiful and varied songwriting. This is just a perfect ten. So many timeless songs, just pure bangers non stop. Personal favorites are Landslide, The Chain and Never Going Back Again. I do have to say something’s happened with this album that got it a bit overrated in the public eye in the last decade or so. I mean it’s an easy five and an all time great, but it’s not Pet Sounds or Revolver or Nevermind or anything in that caliber and it seems like recent discourse rates it as highly as those albums, which is a bit too much.

Genius

Perfect no notes

It’s hard to give five stars to the second album on the list. But it’s pretty good. Sonically interesting, even 48 years later. I will be listening again in future.

my favorite

No notes. 5/5

The popularity of Rumours wasn't because it was just a passing fad or a product of its time. Its popularity was earned from being such a strong collection of outstanding songs. This was and is an all-time classic.

Obvious 5

¿Qué se puede escribir sobre el Rumours que no se haya dicho? Obra maestra. 12/10.

cara a: 😃💔 cara b: 🤠 💔

Classic. Rightfully.

One of my all-time favorite albums

favorite soft, acoustic rock album of all time

Alright this

After many, many listens, I got to give respect where it's due. I'm sorry, Fleetwood Mac, for ever doubting your legacy. I understand now. To summarize, let me quote a wonderful exerpt from The Onion: "Man Who Thought Fleetwood Mac's 'The Chain' Was Over In For A Thrill Of His Fucking Life" After so many listens, the second part still gives me chills. Every. Time.

93/100. Some albums are great because of the songs. Others because of the sound. Rumours is great because of the feeling. There’s a reason why these tracks have lasted. They’re emotionally direct without being dramatic. They speak to the kinds of feelings most people don’t know how to put into words. Jealousy, forgiveness, resignation, nostalgia. It’s not just a collection of singles. It’s a complete experience. You don’t want to skip anything, and you don’t really want to pause it either. It invites you in and holds you there.

the gossip is as good as the music 10/10

deserving of all the praise

no, it’s all true

Album incredibile dal primo all’ultimo pezzo. Voci incredibili, arrangiamenti spettacolari ed è pieno di brani iconici.

We've all heard this and it's a truly great album from start to finish. A rare occasion where there isn't a single weak song on the album. I've heard it hundreds of times but I'll probably put it on again anyway.

I have no problem rating it a five, but my persistent question is why is this THE album everyone seems to own and the #1 rated on the list? I actually think Apple Music’s analysis is pretty good. Paraphrasing heavily, Rumours takes everything interesting going on in the 70s, runs it through an adult contemporary filter, then makes songs out of only the finest parts that remain. So You Make Loving Fun kinda sounds like a Stevie Wonder song and The Chain kinda sounds like a Zep song and Gold Dust Woman kinda sounds like a Patti Smith song. But they’re all just the Mac. I also noticed this time through that the band is incredibly locked in… in a way that feels almost unreal. I think that explains the magic of The Chain especially. So I’m content for it to be one or those mega-records like Thriller. It’s just a *little* too slick to be a favorite record for me. I have trouble imagining anyone breaking down and crying hearing Rumours, and that’s the effect I ultimately want a great record to have. But I’m still humming… don’t… stop… thinkin about tomorrow…

An all timer!

WHAT AN ALBUM

Such a great album. Every single song is a hit!

Iconic, full of hits, well written and a part of music history. This is one of those albums you actually expect to be on this list.

As amazing as you'd think

stone wall classic

Incredible from front to back. Captivating lyrics, timeless melodies and memorable performances from the whole band.

All time album

Oh, only one of the top selling albums of all time and the definition of a no-Skip. The album that made Fleetwood Mac.

Pretty goated if you ask me

I love this - I'm not sure why. Nice to sing along to?

This absolutely deserves its spot as one of the top rated albums on the site. So many classic songs. I feel guilty trying to choose a single favorite. Favorite Track: The Chain

(100/100)

Canciones con buen ritmo y una historia compartida y que conecta. Top 3: The chain Go your own way Songbird

I mean, it’s Rumours. Come on.

Best Song: The Chain This is tied for the highest rated album on the 1001 by users and for good reason. It's a phenomenal record. I have heard it several times and had it on vinyl but enjoyed it even though my album was warped and The Chain skipped, which is a real bummer. 5/5.

can i give more than 5 stars?

Doesn’t get much better than this. This could be Fleetwood Mac’s greatest hits album. No skips. No notes. Okay, I do have one note— I don’t understand how “Silver Springs” was left off of this album, I feel like it’d be right at home here in content and quality. On this listen, Christine McVie's "Songbird" really stuck out to me in a way it hasn't before-- it's so tragically romantic, expressing your love for someone despite knowing you will never be together again. I was unaware until today that "The Chain" was the only song on the album with all members credited as writers, and it truly feels like the perfect culmination of all of their pent-up anger and feelings of betrayal. As Logan said, "it sounds like they're in their Rep era." Favorite tracks: Second Hand News, Never Going Back Again, Songbird, The Chain, I Don't Want to Know (and Silver Springs if they actually included it on the album of course).

I have 10 minutes left in the work day so it's the perfect time to give my thought dump. None of this will make sense. And thats okay. Went through a big fleetwood mac phase in high school because stevie nicks and don henley did leather and lace together and it is one of my favorite songs. Anyhoodle what a banger of an album. Truly. Non-stop bangers. Top songs for me have always been You Make Loving Fun, Gold Dust Women, and Never Going Back Again. Phenomenal guitars. Phenomenal lyrics. Cowbell.

No surprises here, this is one of the strongest albums on this list and rightfully deserves its place. Chock full of certified hits, and everything else is just as good. Amazing what you can do with a whole bunch of interpersonal drama, loathing and cocaine. It's a travesty that Silver Springs never made it onto a vinyl pressing of this album, but at least the super deluxe version restores it in some way. I've never listened to this album before, but I already know half of the songs just by being a person who exists... and I could talk about what I love about this album for hours and fill pages of review, but so much of what I'd want to say has already been said by many other people. I know it's a pretty basic-ass opinion given this is the top rated album on here, but I think this is my favourite album so far. Listening to it makes me happy.

Dreams is one of my favourite songs, and I was surprised by how many more songs on this album I knew. Really enjoyed this

Could be the best songs put together as a package. Most artists would love to have this repertoire of hits their entire career. Let alone a single album. Legendary album. And for good reason. Blues, piano, pop, and ballads. Just a great combination of songs.

137/1001 Fleetwood Mac - Rumours Heart before? ✅ Revisit? ✅ This is the only album in both my parents' collections that they could agree upon and so needless to say, this got played a lot in the house as I was growing up. Fortunately, it didn't have the same impact on me as Simon and Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water. There's still something so magical about this album and the quality of it, seeing as though they were drugged up to the eyeballs and cheating on one another. It's honestly one hit after another. Phenomenal stuff.

Good album with many bangers. Many diffrent vibes and styles of songs within the album.

Hard to argue with. Not just good songs, not ones that have stood the test of time. It's got a wide path, mining a whole range of sounds and styles. Just very very impressive overall

perfect no skips pop album! it does not get old

What a great album!

Excellent

Does it get any better?

all-time fav

I judge people who don't put 5 stars for this album

While Tusk is my personal favorite, most would mark this album as the band’s finest work. It’s amazing to where the band evolved once the Americans arrived on the scene, though I truly loved the band when Peter Green was the driving force.

veoma fino i slatko, predobar albumcic

One of the best albums ever.

Been heard.

For this album the hype is truly real

Perfect

Leaving Silver Spring off was a mistake, but this is a top 3 album of all time.

From start to finish - one of the best albums of all time. Wish I could give it more than 5 stars!!!

A true classic. One of my favorites. I spin a number of these tracks on the regular!

Legendary

Both Len Houmous and Ken Chutney were lined up for play roles in Running Man. Arnie remembered them from their legendary set at the final of the 1980 Mr Olympia. He tried to call but Mick Fleetwood took the call and then the roll! Len was delighted to see how poor his performance was! Embarrassing! 5.0 3/11 Never Going Back Again

Fleetwood Mac is blessed with two phenomenal female singers. Christie McVie with her calm, clear tone that is naturally beautiful and effortless, and then Stevie Nicks who has a mystical, ethereal, raspy sound. I can’t overstate my love for Stevie. She’s one of my absolute favorites. This album is a prerequisite for anyone who has a vinyl collection, to the point of being cliche, but for a reason. It’s incredible how they created such a tight, perfectly blended, harmonious album when they were literally falling apart as a band. Not to mention the massive amounts of cocaine. Maybe that helped? An easy 5 all day. Every song is amazing. A classic I have listened to hundreds of times and will listen to hundred of times more.

Yeah sure, it’s a solid 5. But it’s not a 7. It’s not the best album of all time. It’s not “no skips”. It may be the most popular album on this list, but that doesn’t make it the best, now does it - or did high school teach you nothing? Save all of your hyperbolic bullshit. It is quintessential 70s and filled with songs that everyone knows and loves. Overal, it’s great and soars in places, filled with moments that make you feel good. So, yeah. 5 it up. But, really, why are Mick’s balls hanging out on the album cover?

Amazing album, not top of the heap amazing, but I really do love this album. You can hear the internal strife the band was experiencing as well as soke beautiful tender songs. Brilliantly composed album. Songbird was the highlight of yesterday's listen for me, I forget that song exists, it hits me by surprise everytime, McVies voice is amazing. The rest of the songs are bangers as well, not a dud on the album.

Asbra, helt enkelt

Oh yeah :ok_hand:

Brilliant album

Top 10 albums ever made. Maybe top 5. Maybe even top 3. This is some of the greatest, most beautiful music I have ever heard, and Dreams in particular is one of my favorite songs of all time.

great 10/10

Meilleur album de tous les temps?

A masterpiece of 70's rock.

Ókei hún var góð

Besta plata sögunnar? Minnsta kosti topp fimm.

One of the greatest albums ever? Yeah, but sy\till prefer FM1

A classic for a reason

Very good absolutely a 10 but nothing insane

i didn't *get* fleetwood mac until i hit my 30s, and then something clicked and i REALLY GOT fleetwood mac. do you have to have lived a bit to really feel the pain and heartbreak and messiness of this music? is that the most pretentious/ok boomer thing i've ever written? idk what i'm saying. this album is just bangers bangers bangers.

16/1001 Here it is, the current number one album on this list. It’s all downhill from here I guess. Is it the greatest album of all time? I don’t think so. It is an album of catchy songs. One after another. Just hit after hit. After listening to this album yet again I reluctantly give this five stars.

What a record. What a feat of songwriting all these songs are! I can't decide if the songwriting is better than the performance or vice versa. Either way, the end result is basically peerless. And then there's the backstory to the making of the album, the internal wranglings and the personalities. Look, it's Rumours, does it really need reviewing? If so, then I would say that both sides of the record open in absolutely astonishing ways, with the bounce of Second Hand News (a vastly underrated song) contrasting so well with the threat of The Chain. And then there's the delicacy of things like Songbird. Above all else, there is Go Your Own Way, in the conversation for the GOAT song. If you have a spare four minutes, then listen to Go Your Own Way. If you have a spare eight minutes, then listen to it twice. If you have a spare 12 minutes, listen to it twice, and then go to YouTube and search 'Go Your Own Way isolated vocal'. Watch that video.

The quintessential 5* album against which others are measured!

Un banger tout simplement et l'écoute de l'édition super deluxe fait plaisir + validé par Laura

Classic Fleetwood Mac album. I wasn't a fan of these guys growing up, but when I listened to this album, I learned a better appreciate them. I usually always prefer the Stevie Nicks songs to the Lindsay Buckinham songs. But Second Hand News isn't bad and Go Your Own Way is a classic. Never Going Back also classic. Gold Dust Woman and Dreams are the best for me, and Chains, written by several of the band. First slow point of the album comes with Songbird--that one's a skip track for me. I Don't Want to Know isn't the strongest Nicks song, but Oh Daddy is a great sounding track by McVie, though the lyrics are a little masochist. Whatever you're into, I guess. Overall, the one or two slow points don't detract from the excellent overall product. 5/5

All timer

Rumours? Nah it’s all true

Not much that hasn’t been said, near perfect album

Great, know it well.

On this list's (or this site's) battle for the best album ever I'm more the "Abbey Road" person... but can't deny its rightful 5 stars. What a classic.

What is there to say about a record that, if you grew up at a certain time, you heard every song on the radio for many months. A classic album, a breakup album, a heartbreak album

How many times have I listened to this? I am surprised that my original 1977 vinyl copy still has grooves, it's been played so much. Obviously this belongs on this list. It plays like a Greatest Hits record because every song has been ubiquitous for the past ~50 years. And deservedly so. Immaculately produced this is an album from the sky. It's remarkable and rewards with every subsequent listen.

5 stars I try to listen to every album I get, even when I’m quite familiar with them. But I’m a bit behind and Rumours is an album I’ve listened to enough to know my opinion well. I first bought the album 21 years ago after being familiar with around half the tracks from pop culture osmosis or classic rock radio. I loved it from the beginning and have listened to the album in full countless times. It is an album where the known tracks are the best, but the deeper cuts are also quality. I know every song and even the ones that aren’t bangers have an important contribution to the overall album. Great songwriting, singing, harmonies, and instrumentation. Softer rock in the year that punk rock was exploding in the US and UK, and it still managed to rock. It’s solid!

I dont have anything to add. Perfect album

Best Track - "The Chain"

Classically good.

9/10 very nice, very chill

I was definitely sleeping on this album the last time I tried to listen to it. Most likely literally. This is almost like a greatest hits compilation!

Their eleventh album. Rock. This is such an intimate and authentic album. It's a high definition view into the lives of a Rock band who are immersed in love, sex, drugs, creativity and ego. The tracks themsleves have been written about for forty eight years now. I can't really add more. Rumours is a giant of an album that will stand tall in the pantheon of popular music forever.

Perfect

Classic!

Amazing! And the drama wow

Dreams is one of my favorite songs!

Milestone

The harmonies…. I always notice something new every time I listen. There’s such depth to this album. The little noodles on the guitar, the drumming is excellent. What a masterpiece this really is.

Any album with "Dreams", "Go Your Own Way" and "The Chain" on its tracklist is an instant 5. However, it's not just these monolithic tracks doing all the heavy lifting; the rest of the record holds up to these songs to an extent. There's a reason it's tied with Abbey Road for highest rated album at the time of writing.

Rumours! Yes! I've been waiting for this one. As a kid I HATED Fleetwood Mac. The drums sounded like they were made out of cardboard; the bouncy, happy Adult Contemporary feel; the annoying melodies paired with cloying harmonies. And then I turned 27, and suddenly all of those liabilities became assests. Rumours was my maturity litmus test. The songs and performances are exceptional. The guitar in "Never Going Back Again." The elliptic drums in "Go Your Own Way." The hypnotic repetition of "Dreams." People bag on "Oh Daddy" but I enjoy it. And of their best songs, "Silver Springs," didn't even make the album! There is a trick to their songwriting - they'll employ fairly typical verse-chorus arrangements, but they'll hold back a super-strong hook until the end of the song ("Second-hand News," "You Make Loving Fun," "The Chain," "Don't Stop"). Cause when your verses and choruses are already so strong, why not throw another hook on at the end? I have about 900 more records to go - I'm guessing there will be less than 10 records that are such slam-dunk FIVE STARS

Infinite stars. The best band that ever was, and ever will be.

No doubt 5

GOATed for a reason

The go-to quintessential "no-skips" album

10/10 no skip album. I didn’t realize how good this album was until I listened through the entire thing

Dreams, never going back, go your own way, the Chain, I don’t want to know whole album is good

Truly one of the greatest albums ever.

We're talking a near front-to-back album of hits. Not just Fleetwood Mac hits, but the greatest songs in their catalogue altogether. So much fuckin' talent -- Mick's drumming on The Chain and Go Your Own Way give me goosies. Solid production, and an all-time memorable album cover. No wonder this is consistently a Top 10 record of all time.

I had no idea I loved them so much!

Only good tracks, best album ever

Struggling to think of an album with a better run of songs than this

There’s a reason why all the songs on this album are so well known that they are almost like comfort food - they are just filled w great musicianship and hooks.

впервые послушала альбом целиком, хиты из него успешно заслушиваются на протяжении нескольких лет) потрясающе!

It’s wild how many songs from this album are just part of the collective consciousness - you don’t even realize you know them until they’re playing. It absolutely earns its place as one of the greatest albums of all time. What blows my mind is how much chaos surrounded it: drugs, heartbreak, breakups, betrayals, and yet they turned that mess into something so cohesive and timeless. By the time they got to Rumours, this was their eleventh album, but their first with Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, and you can feel that spark! It's like that perfect storm of pain, talent, and chemistry, where every track feels deliberate, like a group of people baring their souls but still making sure the music never cracks under the weight of it all. It’s nearly impossible to find fault with this record. It’s emotional turbulence transformed into pop perfection.

Buckingham will always be in my echelon of "underrated" musicians.

Can’t really go lower on the rating. Perfect pop songs that I wish I could go back and hear for the first time. So much talent in one bad.

Classic favorite

I mean … come on. It’s one of the best! Still holds up. 5/5

Really enjoyable and surprised how familiar the songs were

Here’s another one of those albums that were a required purchase when it was released. Listening to it now is like meeting an old friend that you haven’t seen in years. Back then we didn’t know about all the dysfunction within the band - that came to light later. Anyhow, this gets a top rating despite two of the tracks (“Don’t Stop” and “Go Your Own Way”) which have been seriously overplayed.

Heard it many times. Great record.

Classic.

Awesome

There are few albums which spawn a radio hit, fewer still have multiple. But Rumorurs is among a mere handful which can claim that all songs, hit or not, are fantastic. Please listen to this album if you have not already.

Worthy

Lives up to the hype

Just a great album. 6 fantastic songs and 4 more great ones. The Chain and Dreams are the obvious highlights, and Gold Dust Woman is the more lowkey but still great song. Add on Don't Stop, You Make Loving Fun, and Go Your Own Way, and you have a damn near perfect album. I still don't really like Oh Daddy though. As stereotypical as it is to say, this is a 5/5 album for me. Not quite the peak of music, but damn close to it.

Fleetwood Mac has never been my thing. Always like them, but never really got into them. On top of that, this album is full of songs that I've already heard so many times before, I don't really need to hear them again. Even with all that in mind, listening to the album again, there's just no denying it's a near perfect pop album. The only song that made me cringe a little was "Oh Daddy". Always creeps me out when someone refers to their partner as "Daddy". I would give it 4 1/2, but since we can't do halves, I'll give it the full 5.

Can you name one bad song on this album. One of the greatest!

bomba atomica. uno degli album migliori della storia

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSS. God this album rules. Every track is fantastic, and some, like The Chain, are on my personal list of greatest songs ever recorded. This is an all-time great album and likely to be one of my absolute favorites of the entire project.

Superb album. Nothing more needs to be said.
