Jazz isn't really my thing but this is quite pleasant and chill. Apparently there was a lot of improvisation and very little rehearsal which makes it even more impressive that it sounds so nice.
Flamenco sketches was the most laid back and I really liked it despite it being the only one from this album not in his ten most popular.
Easy listening. Basically every song would work well during a night talking with friends.
The guy was in A Tribe Called Quest apparently.
Fairly good. Quite a variety of songs some much better than others.
Considering all I know U2 for is having one of their albums forced into every iTunes library and nobody liking that I must say I'm pleasantly surprised. Pretty damn good especially the first few songs.
Fairly good songs in this album. Don't think I've listened to any of them before, at least not actively.
'Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard' sounded familiar and was brilliant. 'Paranoia Blues' was surprisingly good.
'Top Jimmy' made me think this would be a fairly good album, 'Drop Dead Legs' put a swift end to that.
'Panama' is excellent and easily the best song on this album. I'm not actually a big fan of 'Jump', maybe I just think it's too long or overplayed.
'Hot for Teacher' could have been good if it was about something that isn't so damn cringe for 27-30 year olds to write.
I don't think I've ever been excited about a guitar solo and they often feel a little unnecessary. This album is primarily guitar solos.
A little long but I must say I'm surprised by how enjoyable this was.
With a lot of these songs I feel so close to really enjoying them but some aspect of them is holding me back. Maybe this is something that will diminish with time and further listening. The Wikipedia articles I read about this album and it's loose influence, Philip K Dick, were very interesting.
Cotton crown was probably my favourite.
'Workin Day and Night' might just be one of my favourites of his. I can't believe I'd never heard it before. Solid album all round.
Depressing as hell. Wasn't really that into it.
Not sure where the lofi is but very good.
The first three songs are really really good but it goes downhill a bit from there. No idea why it's on this list but I can't say I'm too upset that it is.
Some good songs on here but I probably wouldn't listen to this album again.
Abysmal. The very few good parts aren't even whole songs but sections of songs. Not even possible to just listen to the good bits.
Wasn't really listening properly but it seemed okay I suppose.
Alright album. No real standouts but no bad songs either.
Some good songs on here. Kanye sure was talented before he went insane.
Not atrocious. One good song in there, most of them are fine. Far, far, far too long. Maybe it should be 1 star instead?
Sitting by a river is a perfect place to listen to this album. Some damn good songs on here and very enjoyable overall.
Perfectly fine album. Certainly didn't hate it or anything. Either 2 or 3 stars I'm not really sure.
Aight I guess I don't know
Just a bit generic. Wasn't really interested. Could probably be 3 stars instead of I was in a better mood.
Fine. A bit boring, but fine. Good background music for a restaurant I suppose.
Weird. Not the worst but not great.
Some good bits in there but again surrounded by a sea of 'fine I suppose'
Pretty good. Sounds a lot like Elvis but I'm not sure who came first. Probably this guy if his nickname is anything to go by.
Nice album. Some really good songs on this one even though I don't really think country is my thing. Life in prison is a very strange song. Perhaps I'm missing something but it's just a guy feeling sad because he killed his wife??
Not as good as some of the other hip hop albums I've heard so far but still pretty good.
Not bad, just didn't really like it much.
Not bad but large chunks of it were just guitar solos.
Very enjoyable, "Money's too tight" and "Heaven" are good but the last two songs are really boring. Much better than I was expecting.
Not bad. No songs particularly stood out to be though.
Great album. I don't know if I would have appreciated it as much if I hadn't seen a complete unknown.
"It's alright ma" was shit though.
It's crazy just how much better their hit is than the rest of the album. A few others are not bad but overall it's just fine. Maybe this should actually be 2 stars idk.
Take away the first song and you have an album that is 'fine' at best. It's crazy to me that the stones don't actually have a 'main' album and that all their hits are spread around.
'let's call the whole thing off' is annoying the hell out of me. It just keeps going. How did she find so many things to pronounce?
Boring and too long but 1 star feels too harsh.
I know he's done a lot of Disney songs but god it's strange listening to this.
I really wanted to like this more than I did. Some good songs on here, particularly 'closer'. The industrial sound might take some getting used to and the album felt like it dragged a bit.
Hurt doesn't hold a candle to the cover by Johnny cash.
Perhaps a little generous.
First song is very papers please. Not a fan of 'pretty things', his voice sounds very whiney.
Overall it's too long and whiney for my liking. 2 might be a bit harsh but oh well.
First song made me think I wouldn't like it but it grew on me
Not bad just wasn't feeling it
It's aight. A few good songs here and there.
I can't tell if I'm being too generous with some of these. This could probably be a 2 as well.
Didn't really enjoy it :/
Interesting but a bit odd
Good album. Very enjoyable. Intro sucks ass though.
Not bad but not as good as the other deep purple album. None of the songs really stood out to me on their own.
Pleasant but just makes me feel like I'm in a hotel lobby. Jazz really isn't my thing.
'One of those things' being just okay and how chill 'reminisce pt 2' was have narrowly saved this from being a 1.
'Listen to this' came in like a nasally jumpscare. How do you have a 12 minute song and still manage to make all the others feel too long.
This could have very easily been a 1 and perhaps it still should be.
'the waltz' is 8 minutes long. Nevermind. This shit is a 1.
There are a few good songs on here but as a while the album is slow, boring, and too long.
Good album. Very interesting life.
I think I prefer Femi kuti over this album but they should both be 4 stars. Although I apparently rated Femi kuti 3 at the time.
There were some interesting songs but I want feeling it overall. 2 might be too harsh.
The best song on here was a cover. Songs ranged from fine to boring.
All over the place. Not bad but not great.
I really quite liked it. Makes me wish scissor sisters clashed with the 1975 instead of Charli xcx.
Pretty middle of the road album. Maybe it should be 2 stars instead.
Probably wouldn't listen to any of these songs by themselves but the album as a whole is really nice.
Wanky long songs but they weren't terrible.
Doing my bit for the global rating.
It's fine. Second song was really good. Bit distracted while listening.
It's a perfectly fine album. Cloudburster was perfect walking speed
It's fine. Very 60s sounding. Just like all the other byrds albums.
So boring. Sleep inducing even.
Peasant enough but I can't shake the feeling that it would be better while watching the movie it was made for.
Pretty boring honestly. Couple good bits in there but it's just too long. 1 feels slightly unfair though.
Can't even say I enjoyed part of it.
Good but nothing really stood out to me.
28 songs in 41 minutes is insane. I don't know about this one. It wasn't the worst but I'll also never listen to any of the songs either on their own or as part of this album again. Tinny and hissy wasn't particularly pleasant.
Maybe I'm being too harsh but it just didn't work for me.
I quite like it. Very varied but enjoyable. Just gets a 4 I'd say.
Pleasant while walking but did drag a little by part IIc. Any other day it would have been a 2. Story behind it was interesting.
It's not bad but the Wikipedia blub makes it sound way better than it is. I'm sure in the right scenario this could be a 4 or maybe even a 5 but for now it's a 3.
Boring ballads. Good for focusing on work but I would probably not enjoy actively listening to them.
Pretty nice. Way to blue reminds me of feed the birds from Mary Poppins somehow.
It sounds like a Christmas album.
It's good but I'm sure it's not his best.
Actually really liked it. Wish it wasn't so long. Nobody needs a double album.
It's fine. He's okay. Inoffensive.
Brilliant stuff. Never heard them before.
Some brilliant songs scattered among some forgettable fluff. Better than most of the albums I've given 3 however.
One incredible song the rest were pretty shit. Not a good album overall.
Very nice, very cool. Had only really heard one of these before but they all go hard.
Interesting and dull at the same time. Maybe it was interesting how dull it was.
Not unpleasant for the most part except that one song with a peaking microphone in the background. That song would have been my favourite if it weren't for that.
Better hits on this one but I slightly prefer blood sugar sex magik
It's alright got more into it by the end
Recognised the first song immediately. Whole thing was pleasant all the way through bar one song.
Forgettable, whiney, doesn't even work well as background music.
Good and fun but not anything special
Shit but vaguely entertaining in some kind of way. Hope Spotify doesn't start recommending these songs to me.
One or two were pretty okay idk
I preferred it to hounds of love or whatever but some of the end songs aren't it
Fucking hell that was awful. Every single song felt like a slog in its own right, let alone the whole album. There was a bit that I quite liked and I wanted to know what song it was that had just started. I was 7 minutes in to a 12 minute song. 30 seconds later it was back to being crap. Skipped through feedback hoping to find some actual music at some point but no. No music. Awful. Should have given up after track 1.
Pretty good. Loved the first song the rest were generally good too.
Good voice but terribly boring songs. Not great.
Not bad. Liked the first song.
Wasn't as into it as I was hoping
Fine but didn't feel like anything particularly special.
Good but not particularly memorable
Incredible stuff. Cocaine blues in particular. This whole album is fantastic.
I like some Eminem but this wasn't it
Boring. Not necessarily bad just boring. Cool drink of water blues sucks though. That one was almost painful.
Groundbreaking once, now just a bit dull.
She always comes across like she has no respect for her fans and this album wasn't that interesting.
It's not bad but I feel like I'd appreciate it more if I was alive at the time or more into nirvana
What an insanely unpleasant album. Not one redeeming quality.
It's alright. I reckon I'd get more into it if I listened to it a few more times.
Incredible album. Falls somewhat in the second half but brings it back with the last song.
Good at times, less good at others. Generally not bad though.
Not bad but should have been shorter. Not their best.
Good album. Preferred his first one but this is still good.
Maybe it should be a 4 instead idk. It's good but I'm not sure about it overall.
Even the really long songs were enjoyable.
Sings like Hugh Jackman. Not really my thing.
Second half is better than the first.
Preferred the other hole album but maybe it'll grow on me
I probably would have given it a 2 perhaps a 3 on another day but the guys a rapist and did an astro world before it was cool.
Never listened all the way through before but this is excellent stuff.
I just wasn't that into it. I dunno
Better than a lot of the other 2000s prog rock but still not amazing
Probably okay background music. The kind that is played so quietly you don't even notice when it stops but it's pleasant nonetheless.
I didn't like most of Buckingham's songs and it felt like nicks was doing a lot of the heavy lifting on this album. Would have probably been better if Buckingham hadn't contributed at all.
What possessed them to write a ballad to Israel? Only a couple of good bits in this album but nowhere near enough.
A few genuinely very good bits in here but the album as a whole wasn't that great
Piece of my heart is great, but I'm not a huge fan of the rest. Joplin's voice borders on grating.
A few good songs in the middle but I definitely preferred his other album
Loses momentum half way through. Some great songs I had never heard before on here.
I was expecting something more for a band I had heard so much about. The album was strangely quiet and gave me Christmas vibes towards the end. The best song was the one that was the most different to the rest of the album.
Of all the artists that have come up, I was the most surprised to see Justin Timberlake. The album was produced by the Neptunes with songs originally for Michael Jackson and you can really tell.
That being said Justin Timberlake fucking sucks. Boring album with lifeless singing over the top. Made my train journey feel twice as long as it was. Dreadful stuff.
