Loved this album! Loved the Scottish/Irish folk music and Can Morrison vibes. Their Sweet Thing cover is my new favorite. Only complaint is that it’s the length of a feature film and not very conducive to this experiment.
Not really my vibe but has some classics
I love Bowie but within the rankings of all his albums I already know this is towards the bottom for me so regretfully, a 3
It’s definitely funk, I know that because they keep saying it 😅 It’s a fun listen and I can hear their influence in lots of other bands but it’s probably not one I will seek out to listen to on my own.
I enjoyed the first few songs and then my interest tapered off as the album went on. But I liked it more than I expected to.
Easy 5. Into the Mystic - one of the greatest songs of all time
High school me would have loved this (and in fact did love their song “Ghost Town” which isn’t on this album) but now feels dated
This is fine as background music but don’t feel it’s worthy of being included on this list. I assume that if this made the cut there will be more Pet Shop Boys on the list since this contained none of their popular singles.
Fame deserves 5+ stars on its own but the singles pull a lot of weight on this album so 4 overall
I liked when it turned into a Dave Matthews jam session during the last song
Enjoyed about half but a few of these should have stayed inside his head.
Loved this!! Did not know this artist before
She’s so weird and I love her for that
Fun album, nice and short but ultimately forgettable
Might be good for background music if you need to get some work done but not something I’ll seek out again
This album feels like an echo of Ziggy Stardust, with similar riffs used in new ways. you can hear him transitioning out of that era.
I know I should like this based on my other musical tendencies but I just don’t
My birthday twin and one of my earliest celeb crushes, RIP king
Love the theatrics of this album but found myself waiting for it to be over towards the end. But giving an extra point because TIL he’s from Dallas
This album reminds me of college <3
I get it but not really my vibe
First album in this challenge I have not been able to listen all the way through 😵💫
I have only heard the instrumental intro song before, which I love. Turns out their voices are annoying, not into it.
Enjoyed this one, country meets crooner
One of all time favorites
If you take out the singles, this is what I imagine they'd play in a dystopian sci-fi sweatshop to set the mood and keep the worker bees in line
Two musical geniuses/pioneers… one bland/forgettable album.
Like it but not my fave from this band
This sound like a bunch of 80s bands combined into one chaotic inescapable fever dream. I am skipping the second hour of remixes for my own sanity. This is the music you license when you can’t afford Duran Duran
This one was fun, really enjoyed it. Would probably add it to the rotation
Can hear how they influenced 90s grunge and alt rock bands that I love, and enjoyed the mixture of punk-grunge. But also, a lot of screaming
Not a big fan of The Who, the singles are fine but this was forgettable for me
Literally could not finish this. Atrocious. I checked in on the progress because I was starting to get annoyed only to find there was still nine minutes left in the FIRST SONG. Please no more 2 hour electronica albums I'm at my limit. If I could give this zero stars I would
Liked this one, especially the length compared to yesterday’s! Short and sweet punk album
I like this! Love her voice
I enjoyed this album a lot more than The Who album from 2 days ago
I don’t really get why this is on the list
Another one where I’m not sure why it’s included. Fine but totally mid
An album recorded in Southern California by a group of Canadians that encapsulates the Deep South and Americana folk rock in a way that feels authentic
I was skeptical based on name/album cover but this was highly enjoyable. I would have loved this in high school.
Yo this was good but the little kid crying for his mom threw me for a loop
The music is fine. Her voice and the affectation she does is so, so obnoxious
🎵🎤Satan lied to meeeeee, Satan lied to meeeeeee 🎶
Wow how was this not on my radar… loved this. Like all the good parts of sufjan, Andrew Bird and Father John Misty with a David lynch sense of humor. Definitely going into the rotation.
Great album. I like the one where they turn into a marching band.
Mr. Madison, what you just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response, were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may G-d have mercy on your soul."
Bar mitzvah parties were never the same after this dropped
Bopped my head to this while making deviled eggs for Thanksgiving
I’ve loved this album since high school. This Year’s Love still makes me cry, apparently
Not my fave but he’s still popular for a reason
Fun album, I wasn’t familiar going into it!
Not into the pro-PLO messaging
