Heard this one a bunch. Pretty good. Reminds me of when I first moved to NYC.

More bluesy than I would’ve thought
Better than I remember
Two or three great singles. Other tracks are lame and forced bluesy.
Way better than I could've thought. Especially on headphones. Insane guitar parts. Great song structure. Incredible production.
Good electronic music.
Amazing beats and samples.
It was fine.
Love it. Always have.
Interesting!
Interesting!
loved it when it came out. still ok.
Not into it.
Not a smiths guy. Appreciate the sound though
still gotta listen
classic
Classic.
Beautiful
Good electronic. Dark
Gave it a 4 because it's full of anthems. Whether I like it or not.
Clear influence on some of my favorite electronic/instrumental stuff: RATTATAT and Postal Service, etc.
Great album. Amazing stereo separation and recording quality.
Track 2, "Treaty" was a tear jerker.
This was too much.
I love Willie Nelson. So take this rating with a grain of salt.
Really liked "Misfire." I'm a fan of Queen, but have hardly listened to any full albums to be honest. There was one or two WTF tracks on here like Bring Back Leroy Brown, but they still somehow fit.
I like some of the less-popular tracks off this album like "Heal The Pain" and They Won't Go. I have to listen to more of his albums in their entirety for a better comparison. But obviously, this is a solid album throughout.
By far not my favorite Beastie Boys album, but they had to start somewhere. Funny how they grew out of this thing that worked really well for them, but if a group like this came along today, they just would've leaned into it and we would've had to endure a decade of party boy bro anthems instead of getting to watch them evolve, take risks, and change the culture.
This one's full of some really great break-up and a few wedding songs. Makes me wish I had bridesmaids and a guy who really dicked me over. This came up on my list back in late October '22 when I was on my honeymoon in London. So I was listening to it then, which for some reason made it feel different. Being in the artist's country of origin when it's not your own.
Clapton played guitar on this album. He stinks. When it comes to classic albums like this where the singer is the focus, I'm always interested in the backing band. In some cases it's an iconic group of session musicians like The Wrecking Crew or something. But This one seems to have a pretty big mix. Which always makes me wonder who did the arrangements. Was it democractic/group effort? Or is the producer calling the shots? The producer of this album was Jerry Wexler, a journalist turned producer who coined the term "R&B". Thanks, Wikipedia.
This one kind of went in one ear and out the other. Everything is good, but sounds very of the time.
Too moody. I'm glad Nick Cave exists, but it's too much most of the time.
I mean. It's The Cars. Maybe not my favorite album of theirs, but one that's packed with radio hits.
It's definitely a Radiohead album.
I don't consider myself a huge Oasis fan, but I do love this album. A few tracks on here start to feel corny, but they're saved by a twist on an expected chorus or layers of instrumentation and harmonies. It bounces around between tracks like that, which were maybe attempts at radio hits, and tracks like Champagne and Don't Look Back that seem to come from a more real place. Around the time this album came out, I took a school trip to Austria and the flight back had a BBC radio loop as one of the maybe five channels you could listen to through the player in the armrest. Don't Look Back In Anger was on that playlist, and I believe it hadn't been released as a single in the US yet, and I didn't own the album so I'd never heard it. But I was obsessed with it.
This is stepdad jazz.
I listened to this album a lot when it came out, and there are a few tracks I don't remember sucking this bad. Especially the first two tracks. I really like "Blame Game" and "Lost In The World".
It's a fun jazz kinda thing? Four tracks, all stupid long. The first time I'd ever heard Fela Kuti, the boss I had at MTV put it on in his office for a friday "team building" lunch we had. It's the kind of music few have an actual connection to, but plenty of hipsters act like he was some seminal artist that affected them deeply.
This was fun. I'll probably forget about it in a week, but I enjoyed it.
Oh wow, I'm in a Starbucks in the early aughts and everyone's thinking about how cool it is to be a little bit sad but only in a way where you want to be sad and it's not like actual depression or the result of some external situation. It's like you're 20 and the director in your head goes "I'm gonna throw the long lens on and get a shot through the window. Look sad. When she walks in, pick your head up but don't shift, give it a beat then force the smallest smile you can. And make sure that scarf isn't blocking your face."
Meh
Did not know what this was, but really liked it. Interesting backstory.
It's Shaft. I guess I liked it.
This was interesting. Very Wes Anderson.
YAS! ICONIC! Some real duds on here mixed in with the songs that are eternal.
Love Bjork, not one of my favorites of hers, but still a few good tracks.
First Radiohead album I got into that also made me not like people who got super into Radiohead. I'm ok with them now though. Some of my best friends are super into Radiohead.
I have zero experience or understanding of "goth" industrial type stuff. I assume this is like, a tentpole of the genre. I liked it, but I don't know that I'd request it.
Old CCR is fun.
Aerosmith is not an album band for me. They’re a singles band. Their songs either suck absolute shit or they’re inescapable classics.
Love it cause I’m white trash at heart.
It is what it is.
Good mom music.
Interesting early electronic stuff, but not my bag.
Lotta bangers.
Liked it more than I thought.
We get it. You like LSD.
It’s steely Dan. What’d ya want?
Good
Legendary.
