Too many songs but some of them are like top 50 best songs of all time. Really hard to rate it. I would give it 8.5
Previous one liked a lot better
Didn’t like it. I had a flashback when every school friend of mine played this kind of music back in the day with similar songwriting skill and level. Maybe it’s cool but after Stevie Wonder album I feel like I should give it a 1 , but I’m a good person and will give it a 2
Is famous person said. There is no two thoughts
Is famous person said. There is no two thoughts
I doubt that I will listen to it again
I like their songs. Some of them are like greatest ones. But this album didn’t speak to me
Last album by the great. It’s really hard to judge considering how it was written. But it is also hard to listen to
Girls just want to have fun, nothing more
Icon album cover And more icon music. Influential in so many ways , guitar solos are masterpieces. Shine on you crazy diamond is so immersive, it is my favorite album by them. And the reason why I bought vinyl player in first place
perfect POP record. If you check global reviews it’s either 5 or 1 . It’s clear that 1 are haters. So it proves that it’s a perfect pop album
Great. My first album when I became a fan
Listened to it many many times. Got in my attention after I read that it influenced many bands… like Radiohead. Fall in love with it ever since. Too many good ones here. “So real”, “lover you should come over”. Good memories. Amazing album
Amazing experimental sensational , includes one my favorite songs. meow meow meow
Classic from funk disko pioneers.
One of the best debuted albums ever. . Has Best ballad ever. It’s crazy how many hits are on this.
Loooove.
I know someday you’ll be a star
I’m somebody else’s sky
But whyyyyyy can’t it be miiiine
Tudu du du
Very good . Me like it. Mwah
This is desert island album for me. Countless times listened. Super accessible for non jazz people. Simply Beautiful. 5+
This album should deserve more recognition. Perfect blend of funk/jazz/electronic
First two songs are pretty good . Comfortably numb…
Reminded me of cuphead which is stylish
Breakthrough and legendary album.
First song is really good
Listened. Witnessed live. She’s amazing
Love. Psychedelic soulful. Eddie Hazel guitar solo is just amazing and classic 10/10
Over the years Neil young became highly respected cool dude for me.
5/5 no questions. This is ultimate air drums album
The bass parts here blew my mind
Not my cup of tea. Clickbait
Maybe it was banger back in those days. But now it feels like one long bad macho ganster vibes spread across 10+ songs with pause between them
Few simply ok songs, but mostly it’s a 5/5. This kind of music has a power to resonates with listeners hearts, not mandatory golden ones, can be silver ones
If bad jazz session went punk
Very special album. Holds a special place in my jazzy funky heart. I will give it 5. In my opinion it’s really that important. I even own it on the Cd
I want to give it 6 but will give it 3. Go and figure it out
My first reaction was like … It has sledgehammer and in your eyes, this is by default 5/5. Then I listened to the rest and … spoiler alert - it’s solid 5. the Songs filled with compassion and kindness. Music wise it’s really complicated but sounds really tasteful. Some songs of course are not that memorable and hit material, but even greatest album ever does have skippers. Overall I feel like this album can heal, can entertain and it has sledgehammer
Nice. I imagine myself in the cuba, just finish surfing , pull out cigar from my vintage backpack , sitting in the wooden bar ordered pina collada and just vibing
But reality is I’m in Riga it’s -1, some strong wind Alerts, and winter just started
Amazing album. I remember when it came it, how massive it was. Listening today. It still blows the roof . 5/5
Mega Epos masterpiece. I don’t care really about half of songs as long as it ends with one of the greatest song of all time time
Wanted to give it 5 . But talked to Anete and decided to still give it 5
First it started on a groovy note. And I was into it, but then vocals brought complete opposite vibes, after that music and vocals kinda did match and it was not a groovy spectacular
8bit video game. Really good. The model 💜
I think I’m getting obsessed with steely Dan
While listening to it different thoughts came to my mind such as Quit listening this album, quit this album generator listening party event, maybe do some breathing exercises. Decided to do nothing and give this album 2
Cult classic. No less no more.
The album is okay. But the his voice is really buggin me , kinda theatrical vibe to it really annoys me.
Good meditative music here
One of my favorite albums. I love each and every song. 1/2 of them are masterpieces. This album is the ultimate come back. John rejoined, brought magic and chemistry back. (and tears to my eyes, the story behind it is really heart melting) Album produced 5 huge hit singles. 1999 was the year of Californication. Asked my mom to buy the cassette. listened to the otherside on repeat. Later when I picked up the guitar I was blown away how simple but genius guitar parts were. The album cover is very beautiful. Will never understand folks saying they r 2 commercial even comparing them to generic rockers and making tasteless assumptions. In reality they r incredible musicians who speak in universal music language, battled toughest addictions, lost Hillel to it, almost lost John (had overdose - blood infection and lost all of his teeth), survived and made people fall in love with their music again (and inspired kids like me to pick up an instrument). Sad I didn’t get to see them in their prime. Still the energy is high with all the dancing, jumpin, jamin between song, never repeating solos and each member amazing performance. This makes rhcp one of the greatest live acts. Many bands today try to replace it by telling jokes, being friendly and cute (like it’s 3h standup) which people appreciate much more nowadays than the actual music.
Always thought “you got a friend” was by James Taylor. Now I know it’s Carole. Thank u. 5/5
Really good album. Probably 4.5. A design for life is an amazing song.
Greatest and My favorite Timothee’s Album
Even if you are not a fan it’s hard to deny its huge impact on the music.
The way it sounds , the way it looks and even tastes.
I’m not a cult follower but the “New Dawn Fades” takes me somewhere where most of the songs can’t
Solid 5
The album that spread blues over the ocean
Good album. Will Recommend
Really love their future work. This one is good, but next ones are really great
Quest for getting this album on vinyl still persists.
“The only thing we share is the refrigerator”
5/5
Long monologues, repeating riffs.
Some good/forgettable moments
Good side it is not that long. free forms and jamming … really can’t remember a thing. I prefer jazz when it’s jazz
Country + nick cave vibes. 2
Timeless. I felt like someone teleported me into 70s , hot summer , ocean breeze, my toes in the send, old fashioned swimming shorts, some random guy smoking cuban cigare and reading Hamingways bestseller, Sean Connery as James Bond and some bitterness while drinking old-fashioned and listening to Franks voice
I like to be challenged , but not this way
Really interesting and original)
Got some amazing moments, some ok moments. I really think solsbury hill is exceptional. And overall Peter doesn’t make generic music. Go Peter
Was rocking hard to it when I was only kid in school who knew who they are. Still rocking hard to it when this album is considered groundbreaking and genre defying
When I say “yee”, you say “haw”
Love it. I remember when I heard that some country album got Grammy for “record of the year” and “country record of the year”. I was a little confused. But it was not for long. Listening to it quickly absorbed my confusion and skepticism.
Haaaw
I chose not to be a hater
I really love this albums. Pauls songwriting and Garfunkel voice - just Amazing. Those songs will be covered and remembered by generations . You can dance you can cry. Ohh .
After one of our of judge team members gave 2 to the perfect album I started to question myself, maybe I do something wrong or do need change the way I perceive life and measure things differently be more grateful and smile more. Well, at least I need to try. But this album is very good maybe not perfectly-five but almost five
Very Influential album. That Intro to Voodoo child (slight return) with that wah wah sounds. I think so many guitarists have that pedal because of that intro.
All along the watchtower is one of the greatest cover ever. And other guitar wizazzardy. Maybe its not enough and 2 for someone l. But for me it’s a 5
If there were no albums like “bridge over troubled” I probably rated current one better. But. In my opinion songwriting is meh, creativity is more meh. Just sounds without emotion
When this album came out it was huge. Everyone was listening to smack my pitch up and wearing shirts and baseball caps with ants. Music video aired only when the sun went down and of course cassettes with Mr. Crabs on the cover.
Ok album. Best song is heavy sampled
Hard to rate it. Not Shoegaze expert/fan. Falls for me between 2 or 3
When exceptional musicians have no creativity control
Omg. Really love “Fall at your feet”. This Album has amazing singles overall. 4,5
Good ablum. amazing few smash hits. Can compare to likes of Thriller but half songs are not that memorable and can not say that it was that influential comparing to the previous work of theirs.
When I was a kid, I thought 2pac was the best rapper in the world. I guess because someone tried very hard to convince me that he is the toughest mf. But now I know that guns and violence and gangster attitude doesn’t mean u r tought and there r much more important things which makes u tough
Jeff is amazing . Good debut. But for me it lacks magic-something that his 1975 Blow by blow album has
So so bad. “Ain’t nothing but the gang bang”. Wow. So smart and inspirational. If I’ll write a song some day, will definitely use it.
My favorite album of their
Why it’s here... I don’t know .
I remember seeing them on YouTube, such crazy energetic experience
Got few good hit. She got the voice. But overall it’s not that strong of an album in my opinion, targeted mostly on radio success with few good moments and stucked in that time frame
Perfect mix , not super long, packed with hits. Good 80s vibes
I really love comfortably numb and the solo is like the best one in the history of the guitar, but some songs I wish were b sides. And it really feels like there is no Rick magic here. But overall good album, behind animals, wish, moon
First song is really goods. On my badass list she is a prime minister. Can make that guitar squeak. (Seen her at SRV tribute). Overall good album.
Took 4 days to finish. Was expecting that Andre half will be exceptional. Turned out BigBoi first 6 songs are only ones that I liked. Disliked a lot here.. monologues with no music, monologues with just few beats, over the place random synth sounds, offensive lyrics, making Coltrain sound like a jingle from a Pepsi commercial/sailor moon intro…. I think I don’t even like Hey Ya anymore.
Crazy bitch . Stupid bitch. Stupid add bitch….. man wtf
Want to give it 2 but some bigboi songs are dope
I remember when I was a little kid and first heard New Year’s Day on the New Year’s Day and was instantly mesmerized by that piano part…. And Still like it
Influential album, from
Influential band with influential music video from influential director
Overall vibe and sound is pleasant to my ears. Wildfire is nice cool song. But after it I was constantly checking how many songs are still by there. And nothing was there to keep me interested.
Despite that famous song it was very uninspiring
Would appreciate this album more if those brass and tubas were replaced with other instruments , ah and vocals
I think “Cant let go” kinda saves this album from falling into “I guess it’s ok, next please” category, but i feel like this list had more interesting albums in similar kinda “genre” (Bonnie Rait - Nick of time for example)
Sounds like listening to audio book over piano playing(which was decent). Not that bad. But I’m not a fan of this storytelling approach.
It has been a very long list of albums since I pressed play and didn’t want to skip a single song. I haven’t listen to Aerosmith like for 10+ years and I remember now why I considered them ultra cool. Steven is amazing vocalist. Jennie’s got a gun amazing song
Meditative stuff. Feelers with Same thing all over again.
Didn’t find it interesting.
