I much prefer Blackheart Man by Bunny Wailer. Not a bad album though.

Very nice! IMO, it gets boring & a little monotonous after awhile though.

I totally missed out on the Madchester scene. Saddens me. Oh to go back, to relive those days, the 90s, and not fuck it all up.

Ugh. I know this album is widely lauded but I found it a bit monotonous. I also hate Eric Clapton.

I believe I listened to his album frequently when it came out. I only recognize the singles here though. It’s hard to listen to because she’s not singing; she’s venting. Sounds crazy & snotty. Album of its time. I miss the days. 💧

I should probably read all the lyrics. Nice listen regardless. I feel more cultured & smart now

This is a weird album. I read it it was supposed to be, fractured, schizophrenic. Doesn’t lend itself to repeat listening imo.

I remember never being a club person, dance music. I remember individual songs, fun songs, happy songs. As a whole album, not fun. Monotonous.

New to me, must research this. I dropped out of life for a long period. Loved it, will repeat listen.

At the first listen I thought, Ideal beach music listen! I googled up. Nope, they are indie Liverpoolians. Very nice yet not very memorable. I probably won’t relisten. Their earlier album, Water Pistol has a higher AllMusic rating. Shack doesn’t seem to have any further releases since 2006.

1996 happened when I was there but had largely retreated from life—for unfulfilling connection & romance. So I missed later Soundgarden & Elliot Smith. I’m not overwhelmed by Elliot Smith. Introspective with a whispery voice. May listen again, dunno. The only one’s the really rested on me was the Tom Waits. What does that say about me?
