I wanted to give this a 2 because it's really not for me, but I'm pushing it to a 3. Although it's not my style, something in it made me not hate it, and that's actually a pretty good effort.

Going with a 3 here. I like the music, but do we need a 90 minutes about Lynyrd Skynyrd and the politics of the south in the 70's?

Why this Husker Du album? They have better work and Warehouse is just too bloody long for this type of music... A generous 3.

I'm not a fan of a lot of hip-hop, but I quite liked this. I like the more minimal beats. Nothing really stand out though so I'm keeping it at a 3.

I just don't get Talking Heads. I try because they're one of those bands you're supposed to like, and I just can't do it.

Very repetitive. "Good Times" is okay, but pretty standard disco.

Never understood the Talking Heads and this is just David Byrne going even further.

This is getting a generous 3 because of the influence. The Stones have much better and more creative work.

Nah. I don't mind Cheap Trick (although not a real fan either), but the quality of the recording wasn't very good and the sound of the crowd was annoying. I don't get the point of this album.

I'm not the biggest fan of funk, but this was pretty good. Easy 4.

Nearly a 5. When it hits, it hits well, but the few songs that aren't bangers really drag it down.

I like a fair amount of heavy music, but generally not Nu Metal. I actually liked this, but will probably not come back to it.

OK, but forgettable. I've heard Jane's Addiction before and never really cared. Still don't.

Some very very good songs here, but when they try to branch out from the formula they fail. Otherwise this would have been an easy 5.

I'm going to go with a 4, although somewhat reluctantly. It's not an album I reach for when I want to rock out, but I can appreciate the point of it.

I like Roxy Music better than Brian Eno's solo work but less than Bryan Ferry's solo work. But I suppose Eno wasn't involved in this one, so perhaps that's why I didn't mind this...

Although I appreciate the craft here, this type of music slides into the background and I don't actually listen to it.

Getting a 3 cuz it's Simon and Garfunkel. They've done much better and more interesting work than this though.

Why was this such a big selling album? I'm not seeing anything special about it.

It's a "no" from me. Since it was recorded across so many different dates and overdubbed so heavily, this is essentially just a greatest hits record. I don't mind Thin Lizzy, but I think this goes against the spirit of live recordings.

I can appreciate the importance of this album, but it's not something I'm going to re-visit.

I assume this is a good example of the genre. But a genre I'm not into.

I really like this album, but there seems to be some filler. At more than an hour long, they could have made some cuts.

I like this kind of music and I like the Allman Brothers, but I don't need a 23 minute rendition of Whipping Post...

I wish I could give this a 4, but beyond the obvious hit, it's a bit repetitive and really only has Aretha's voice holding it up.

The album deserves a 3, +2 for Beatles, -1 for being the Beatles not at their best. That equals 4.

I should like the Byrds more but I don't.

A slightly resistant 4. Where it hits, it really hits, but it's very long and feels like a lot of filler, which was making me think give it a 3. But there are enough iconic tunes in here to give it a 4.

Another record on that list that I can't for the life of me understand why it's here. It's not different enough to be noteworthy, nor is it an extremely good example of a genre.

Why is this album here? It's not great...

A reluctant 3 because there's nothing inherently wrong with the album, but there are much better examples of 90's skater punk. Dookie made the 1,001 albums list, and also came out in 1994, so that's good at least. But NOFX's Punk in Drublic also came out in 1994 and it's not on this list?! And Smash makes it? No sense...

Great second half. First half good, just not as good.

It's stuff like this that makes people think that they don't like country music.

I don't like ratings out of 5 because although this is a great album, it's not the Pixies' best. But I still have to give it a 5.

I've never liked the Police and listening to a whole album confirms that.
