Bit old skool, but still like the singles
5/10
Bit dated, didn’t enjoy 2/10
Decent album, a couple of crackers 5/10
Decent, liked the band years ago - not due on this one niw, sounds dated.
Quite enjoyed it, Soulfull - great voice
Very different to what I expected, but in a good way, not your mainstream rapper, good listen, but not something I’d buy. 4/10
I remember this album from my teenage years, great dance tunes on here, but a few fillers
I ve never listened to this album before, must be one of the few?
Full of hits from MJ - I remember Billie Jean in 1982, and the excellent video to Thriller
Was ok, but not something I would listen to now
It was ok, could listen to it again, as I quite liked the track “Friends” - I’d never heard of him tbh.
Really enjoyed this one, though not surprised as I have other albums by the band in my collection - what a great band they were, heard new tracks which is always good
Heroes is an excellent single, one of Bowies best, the rest of the album is decent - German albums round the corner
I really enjoyed this album- jazz/hip hop, reminds me of a hip hop Gil Scott Heron, not heard this before, Public enemy are similar, but I will download this album, really enjoyed it.
I did enjoy listening to this one, reminds me of my love of the single “The Cutter”, never really got into Echo & B when I was in my early 20s
Really didn’t like this one at, organs, and long tracks, prog rock is not my thing
I do like a Couple of songs on here, but he’s not really my kinda muzik- did listen though
Love S&G, great tracks on here, America, and Mrs R, great singalong tunes
One of the greatest albums - ever 10/10
This will stand the judge of time for ever
Interesting, never listened to any SD, but liked “Peg”, quite a funky album
Not my thing, never been sure about Henry Rollins, that was a hard listen tbh
Haven’t played this one for a while, but have in my collection, great tracks, when Shaun was sounding excellent
Great voice, the songs went on a bit too long though
Excellent album, a real music changer back in the day, awesome - Firestarter
Liked this album, a few songs I’d heard, beautiful harmonies- and new songs discovered 🎁
Ok album, not as good as other albums
Not what I can listen too, unless I was “Tripping”😂
Seriously loved this album, have downloaded it!
Liked this album, NWA - links me into other artists
Surprised at this one, I really quite liked it -
I should like it more, but would need another listen
Excellent album, not listened to it for a wee while
Classic album, with some excellent songs, I have this in my collection
Great album from 1995, Jazzy B -“ there’s 3 from the North side, and 2 from the East” - Tunes🎶
If I listened to it a few times I might like this one, but not feeling it
Superb album, I bought this when it came oout, and over the years grew on me, amazing that “Fools gold” is not on the album, finally Mani RIP.
Can’t believe this in one of the 1001?
Remember this one well, aggressiveness and power, MF wording, F The 👮♀️- good to hear it again.
Some decent tracks on here, I do like early Dylan, never seen him live though
An excellent album, enjoyed listening to this whilst wrapping up Christmas 🎄 presents, particular favourite of mine “ The Highways of my Life” Summer Breeze also excellent 👌
With all these Jazz standards on the album, I’m afraid Willie Nelson is no match to the Jazz greats who went before….
Didn’t like this noise at all, far too heavy for me.
I liked some tracks on this one, very dated, though I do enjoy The Kinks stuff, psychedelic and very 60s
Excellent album, full of favourites 🎄 Phil Spectors best moments - love it/ have it
Really excellent album that I have on vinyl, Sade hit me in 1984, and I saw her “live” on this tour in London, what a voice- soul, Jazz rhythms
Beautiful
This was a surprise package, I’d heard of the name, but not listened to anything by Coldcut, but it was a good liste, so listened a 2nd time👏
This is an album I should really have had some years ago, after hearing her on the velvet underground record, but I never did, so played it out yesterday, a couple of decent tunes here, but I won’t be buying it.
I knew this band would come around, I’ve not listened to much LZ I must admit for someone in their 60s, I have one track from this album on a playlist “Going to California” which I heard some years ago, and honestly I don’t like this album……
Truly excellent album, and timeless, I remember playing songs from this album to my kids driving down to Argeles in France , in the 2000s they were very young, and they still love them, and have seen them “live”, I have tickets for their shows this year, when they will play this album in full, I’m going with my kids, who are now in their 20s👏👏
I thought I might enjoy this, however I didn’t…….
I love Lemmys vocals- they were a crossover band for me, as I was into Punk in the 70s, Ace of spades is a great track, particularly “live” - I listened to this album on the way to Football yesterday, it’s good and not too heavy
I’d never heard of this band, liked the 1st track, “ Time to pretend” - I’ve heard this before, probably on Radio6 - plus “kids”
Not much else happening here for me
I only liked one song on this album; East St Louie Toodle-oo- other than that just standard songs.
This is truly an excellent album, had it since it came out, playing it again and singing along ; Tracy Thorn, Horace Andy, Tricky, this version of “Light my fire” is magical right at the end - beautiful
I know everyone raves about this album, and when I was at school everyone in my class was talking about it, but I never got into PF, so yesterday was the 1st time I’d ever listened to the whole album- and, we’ll I quite liked a couple of songs, that was it…..
This album grew on me as I went further into the album, i like it!
The only song I knew of Fiona’s was her singing with Johnny Cash on “Father and son” many years ago
On my first listen to this band, my initial thoughts were, we done this in 1977, but as I voyaged further into the album, I quite liked the Rock n roll style, “on a rope” I put up on UT, lead singer reminds me a bit of Joe Strummer…….looking that is😂
The longer this went on, the better I liked - though doesn’t come near his later stuff
Very good listening t to this again last night, not played it for years, so good, Thom Yorke’s vocal so cool…
Didn’t like this at all, I remember Party fears coming out, and didn’t like that……🤣
Not my thing at all, I couldn’t listen to it all, bored me
What a beautiful voice Curtis has, hard to not like this one, I must watch the movie now🤣 Mr Soulful
1976….. and I hated ABBA- always No1, in the charts, I hated them.
Nowadays I quite like them, and sing along to a lot of their songs - how times change…..
Too middle of the road for me, a couple of decent tunes
And then this one comes along, I bought this when I finally got into the Beatles, loved playing this yesterday in the car and singing along to “Rocky Racoon, guitar weeps, USSR, obladee, blackbird etc…….great memories
Bought this when it came out, and remember the songs well, but sounds a bit dated now….
I gave this 2 spins, but it sounded a lot like the 1980s Guitar bands, a couple of songs were ok, but nothing special for me
I’ve heard a more funky version of “Watermelon man” by HH, this is very much a Jazz album with Funk/fusion - long tracks, perfect to listen to in the car on my way home from the beach🦐
A friend of my fathers had this album in 1973, I was still at school, some excellent songs on here, “Bennie and the Jets” reminds me so much of that year, I bought candle in the wind on 7”, BATJ on the B side.
What an excellent album, love it
Wow! Some raw Punk - 14 songs in 15 mins - Fabulous- loved it
Don’t really understand why this is in the 1001 albums??
Wow, not heard this for a long time, singing along to every song - always loved Jim 🙏🏼
This album didn’t do it for me.
Not my cup of tea at all…..
What a fantastic album, brought mainstream SKA, and Reggae into the house, some classic tunes on here, that I still play today - lucky enough to see The Specials “live” Terry Hall on vocals RIP🙏🏼
I do like a lot of George Clinton’s music, but not particularly this one
I read up about Gene, Byrds etc.
Album was good without any stand out track though
So cool, Mr Cohen - great lyricist - really liked the album - must listen again soon
Great album to hear again, all the old covers, plus a few originals- Beatles at their finest
Great to hear this excellent album on way to the football yesterday, so many good memories- hip hop at its very best.
“Three that’s the magic number”
Love this album, so much I bought it again recently 🤩
God….this was awful, though I know some people love it🤣
Well, I didn’t expect to enjoy this……but I did, I even put 2 trax on a playlist- never heard of the duo before, good stuff.
I thought I was going to enjoy this 10cc outing, as I do like their early stuff, but it was disappointing….
Superb, lovely to hear Aretha with her charm and beautiful harmonies - great album, some real bangers on here
Just pure class on this one, every song an absolute classic
I got into it on this mornings walk, but didn’t really hit any “highs”
Not enough Reggae I’m thinking in the 1001, Marley is obvious, but what else?
This has the album version of “ stir it up” absolute banger, Peter Tosh🙌 - I have this album with Marley and the spliff, plus the T-Shirt🤭
Beautiful album, my Father bought this on its release, so was playing it whilst I grew up, the classic “Take 5”
This is an excellent album, bought it many years ago, so good to sing along again
I bloody loved this album, I’d heard of Lucinda but not played anything by her - Amazing!
In the week that we lost Andrew Rankin, drummer with The Pogues 🙏🏼, it was fitting to hear “Worms” again, I first saw The Pogues live in 1984, lucky to live in “Archway”, so they were a local band - saw them many times in London, one of my favourite bands ever, “Fairy tale of NY” - what a song, RIP Shane, and Kirsty🙌
I reckon I could’ve got into Husker do back in the day, and I’m sure John Peel would’ve played them, but alas I don’t have anything by them in my collection, this album is listenable- if a little dated.
It was ok, quite catchy lyrics, with his distinctive voice, but not really for me.
It was ok, obviously love Father and son, absolute banger, but the rest didn’t excite me
Hahaha, this one made me laugh, mixed up instruments, Cave on full throttle, I watched him on UT whilst listening to this one, reminded me of Lux Interior, and Iggy Pop, favourite track “Dead Joe”
Too middle of the road for me, really enjoyed his early stuff, and saw him live in 1979….
Umm, I’m not sure if I like him or not, i listened in the car - the only song I really liked was Bound2, if I listened again, maybe I might like this more?
It was ok - but only as background music
Good to hear Mingus again, so vibrant, good to listen to whilst walking the dog.
I have this album, I do like early Dylan before he went mainstream, good to listen again to Tombstone blues.
Not for me, only a couple of songs that I thought were ok - but too heavy for my 👅 taste
I struggle to listen to Orbital tbh, if I was in a club then ok, but not at my age, it’s not going to happen….
A funky little album here, packs a punch - enjoyed it
