2/5 heard it twice, still don't remember it.
Jazzigt rock luuugnt
Conflicted. I kind of like it, but it's a bit too 'sweet' to me. Debating between 2 and 3 stars, but ultimately I don't really see myself seeking out this album again, so 2 stars.
Ik ken hem door de soundtrack van Good will hunting waar hij een paar droevige nummers heeft om van te huilen. Dit album gaat, maar ook niet meer dan dat, had korter gemogen (zoals zovele albums). Duurt echt te lang voor wat het is.
Meh
Weird story surrounding artist though 👀
I didn't care for it.
Egh
too depresive
Sin mas, agradable para tener de fondo
Suena todo igual, algo lento para un viernes
Слишком не понравился вокал, но по моему не совсем гно
It was alright, bit boring but not bad.
Early 2000's american indie. Boring.
I never did get the Elliott Smith thing. This album is very samey throughout.
Not great. I can see ita influence on 2000s music and the lineage through Oasis and the Beatles. However, overall not an easy listen and a little too overdone.
Whatever
The double-tracked singing still really bugs me. There are a couple of songs where it isn't as anemic, but mostly it makes me involuntarily clench my teeth. He's clearly a very talented musician and songwriter, but I wish some producer would have pulled him aside at some point and insisted he partner up with a good singer. There are a few songs that could have been enjoyable. What a shame. Best track: Son of Sam
Kinda bland for me.
I’m gay
I really don't get it 😭😭😭 Always wanted to listen to him but this project just sounded really scattered in terms of its sound and has voice doesnt work for me
Hhg
Not for me
too sad and boring for me
Dull. Not fun or grand or exciting. Just meh. Not for me.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I didn't vibe with this at all, especially not his voice
para la tercera cancion ya le queria poner 1 estrella, pero cuanto más escuchaba más odiaba a este tio. es como el hijo retrasado de bob dylan
The mix is pretty much bad, but the song itself isn't terrible, or maybe it is.
This was genuinely awful start to finish. Didn’t enjoy a single song. Boring music, boring lyrics, practically put me asleep at work. Tested my abilities to sit through an album without skipping any of the songs.
filling the 90s/2000 kids need for some beatle style musicians… 🥱
Son Of Sam: No me copa mucho, pero tampoco esta mal. No me gusta mucho este estilo de musica la verdad no creo que me vaya a gustar mucho. Sombody I Used To Know: esta es mas tranqui, me gusta mas, peor aun asi, no me gusta. Junk Bond Trader: mala Everything Reminds Me Of Her: mala mala Everything Means Nothing To Me: mala L.A: meh, no esta tan mal In The Lost And Found (Honey bach)/ The roost: mala Stupidity Tries: malarda Easy Way Out: mala Wouldn't Mama Be Proud: mala Colorbars: mala Happiness/ The Gondola Man: mala aun mas mala mala Pretty Mary Key: malisima chau Better Be Quiet Now: malarda Can't Make A Sound: malardopolis Bye:literalmente nada en conlcusion, malarda mal
Not for me tbh
Misery guts
Spun it twice. Nothing here for me.
Nothing to write about
mindless singer songwriter crap, DNF track 4
I hate Elliott Smith forever
This dude bro again? I honestly don't remember the other album we had by him well enough to run a proper compare (I only remember it being depressing and, generally, life sucking), so I guess I'll just have to judge this one on its own merits. Ahem. It's depressing and, generally, life sucking. Oh, and boring.
I actually tried on this one, and I didn’t get it.
the second song "somebody that i used to know" is extremely annoying. third song is annoying as well, kinda. why? I don't think i like this. 4th song is even worse. BORING!!!!!! just very basic songs . wow how descriptive arent i?
aburridooo y muy gringo ajsjaja
The further into this album I got, the less I liked it. First couple of songs were fine, not amazing but okay. But by the time I got to Pretty Mary Kay, I was so done with the dreamy vibes and his voice. I had never heard of Elliott Smith and I now know why. This is not my thing.
??? schon wieder vergessen top?
eh
Never got his appeal
Not for me
I don't like this type of albums to be honest.
This guy again !?!
just boring idk
not my tempo
Eh
Well…
Lame. Like a bad rip off attempt at Simon and Garfunkel. 0 memorable or replay able tracks
Not for me. By well done for being on this list Elliott
No better than ok. Forgettable.
Booooring, longest 50 minutes of my life. 1/10 Favourite track: N/A
Not for me. 1/5
2/10
I say this as someone who has lived in and around Portland, Oregon for my entire life, Elliot Smith is the most overrated musician associated with Oregon. Having 2 Elliot Smith albums on this list but not the Cherry Poppin' Daddies FEROCIOUSLY STONED from Oregon is a crime. So tired of Elliot's heroin driven indie bullshit. Both of the Elliot Smith albums are not worthy of all time status on this list.
nope
Trash
Meh
Not unpleasant, but boring AF.
Tedious, dreary, boring
I listened to the album multiple times, I can tell you absolutely nothing about it now. Really forgettable
not my type. at all.
Not a fan. Vocals were bland and uninspired.
Meh
What? Another generic early 2000s singer songwriter writing the most bland indie I've ever heard? YES PLEASE. And now I read his Wikipedia page I see he either stabbed himself or was murdered by his girlfriend..... Sound
joyful
Feels like I’ve been living an early 2000s indie American film star life listening to this. It’s good background music, but only that. Ultimately, quite dull and plodding, like all early 2000s indie American films.
I got three songs into this and gave up. Second track had the air of Simon & Garfunkel, which is not a good thing.
Meh.
I can't stand Elliott Smith
Was not worth my time
Horrible
Elliott Smith’s voice sent shivers down my spine in a bad way. This album is way too whiny. This was definitely a cry for help considering what happened to him.
meh
Proficient
I really don't like this.
Turned it off a few songs in. Piano and guitar are nice, but you’ve is too whiny for my liking. Listen again: no Purchase for my collection: no Favourite Song: none
Couldn't get through it. It seems too dated in that early 2000 whiny, mumbled voice
All songs sound the same. Boring
This is the kind of utter shit listened to by 13-year-old girls after they've had an argument with their mum
Even being from Portland I don't understand the fascination with Elliott Smith. I did love "Plainclothes Man" by his band Heatmiser. Outside of that, I have always found him to be vanilla, both in his singing and the song structure/hooks. Is it the message and song writing people like? Was it the time and that sound resonated with people? I can admit I've never listened to this entire album. But nothing jumps out at me as being essential listening. It's ok, I wouldn't leave the room if someone threw it on, but I also wouldn't get into a groove either. There are likely hundreds of albums that sound this bland from late 90's and early 2000's. The album borders on meandering and boring, I struggled to finish most songs, there won't be a second listen. The saving grace is most songs are under 4 mins long, but then there are 16 songs to drag the experience out. One star for trying, just not my thing I guess. Certainly not a Top 1001 album.
If you enjoyed it, great. I won’t be going back to this one.
I should have just not listened to this album. I don't think I liked any part of this album -- well it was so blandly inoffensive, I mean almost aggressively bland, I completely lost interest so I probably really only listened to the first two or three songs so at least isn't was keeping my attention throughout.
In another instalment of why is this on the list? Seriously underwhelming just soft boy whining shit. Some of the instrumentals were okay, but I couldn't nail down a theme other than this guy being whiny. That's all I got, my favourite song was Bye because it was the end. 1/5
Glad eg aldri trenge å hørra på da igjen
I just cant seem to get into Elliot Smith
softboi asmr piffle
Forgettable.
This guy is dogshit
Terrible album. Terrible music. Really sad. I like stuff in that genre but this was horrifically depressing.
Not a fan of these types of albums. Lacking energy, whiney, watery vocals, uninspiring lyrics. Too many depressed song writers already. Don't feel any desire to ever listen to this again.
Boring
The music is great but this guy is probably one of the worst singers I’ve ever heard. Eww. So hard to get through it.
Pure torture
That was definitely early-2000's singer songwriter. Had to slog through that one. 1.5 stars
Would not play!
Shoegazing pish
That was really boring. 1 star.
I didn't care about it
droning singer songwriter strum along wank NNN
No comment.
Didn’t really like it. Too soft for my liking. The best song was the cover of “Because”
Dreary
Nicht mein Geschmack.
dreadfully dull. hard skip.
If the best song I'll ever hear is in the back half of this album and I never hear it because I refused to keep listening, that's fine with me. Plonky piano music seemingly designed to be put on the mix CD a high school boy who got dumped will slip into the locker of the girl who said she never wanted to hear from him again.
2000s male indie is the worst genre ever I fear
Boring
Not really a big fan of this. The lyrics seem very simple and repetitive, nothing really innovative or ground breaking. First album I have been glad to be done with.
Really didn't care for the music. Not a big fan of the whispery vocal delivery he uses. Felt it buried the lyrics. Junk Bond Trader was the only song that I found interesting--- Maybe Easy Way Out. Otherwise hard pass. Couldn't get through he whole thing.
Just a bit too whiney for me
Indie nonsense
I did not really like the lead singer's voice. 1/5
Uskomattoman tylsä. Ei jaksa kuunnella loppuun asti. En ymmärrä miksi tällaista edes tehdään.
Didn’t finish album. Found it boring. The vocals were too soft and I wasn’t a fan of the singing
DK // I really really tried to get into this album but I can’t get over how much I dislike his voice and even worse his haircut in that cover photo lol. Favourite track I guess Everything Reminds Me of Her. Rating - 1/5

Don't know how I feel about this one
Nul de fou ! De la folk sans sucre la
Another swing and a miss. Didn’t even finish the album it was so bad.
Some of these albums have e left me questioning the nature of this site. Is this a social experiment? Am I being tested or tricked in some fashion? But then I see the listen count on Spotify, and I realize that it might be my taste that is the outlier. Whatever the reason, I seem to be wearing thin on patience while trying to locate the beauty in mediocre music.
Não gostei AHAHAHA
Not my favourite, and i didn't make it through the whole album. The band seemed to struggle with what genre they wanted to be and, to my mind anyway, just seemed to be a blandish version of each.
The worst
so whiney
Meh
pretty mid 3/10
? Not my music
No bueno
Downbeat.
Not a fan whatsoever.
yada yada
meh
forgettable
Very Badly Drawn Boy
Meh
Really don't like this sound of music. Singing voice is jarring and doesn't match the acoustic feel in my opinion.
nothing interesting...
Did not enjoy.
Not a fan…..
Making the same mistake, ad nauseam. An entirely blank greeting card. Ennui. So very sad. Seemingly, so very little wisdom gained, or shared, from the experience. There’s the blues- that’s one thing, a wholly other thing. I would title this genre, the grays. Sorrow as an end to itself. Elliott Smith died at 34 of self-inflicted stab wounds following a row with his girlfriend, compounded by substance abuse. This recording feels very wrong, and I don’t ever want to hear it again.
Algo plano para mi gusto.
Jesus Christ
Lame
Фигня
harsh and what felt like unpolished first two tracks turned me off!
Meh...
