Ya se le veía la zanca al pollo. Vivillos desde chiquillos. Rolas que se volvieron emblemáticas de la banda alberga éste disco, como "Sunday Bloody Sunday" y "New Year's Day", pero "40" era una pieza que nunca había escuchado y captó bastante mi atención.

Se notan influencias de Depeche Mode de repente en algunas rolas como en "Narayan" donde es muy evidente. Estuvo padre escuchar algo más allá de los 3 hits "Breathe", "Smack..." y "Firestarter" que los llevó a la fama, sobre todo las canciones instrumentales como "Narayan" pero en particular disfruté mucho "Climbatize".

Mucha rola genérica... no me gustó mucho :(
Aunque tiene unas rolotas como la que da título al disco, y que marcó toda una época, o "I'm On Fire" y "Dancing In The Dark", el resto de las rolas suena como a cualquier banda promedio del género americana... quizá el tema es que fueron de los primeros en liderar ése estilo tan gringo? En fin... Next!

Tengo el sesgo de que es uno de mis artistas favoritos, y que por ser éste el primero de sus trabajos en solista lo tenga muy cercano al cora, pero la verdad si tiene algunas rolas muy sin embargo. Aunque "Oh My Sweet Carolina" salva todo el disco. Este disco está para iniciados, porque al escucha común, le va a sonar a una copia de Dylan y similares.

Muy linda música, muy al estilo de Stevie, pero se nota como que en algunas canciones aún falta esa cohesión sonora que le caracteriza, al menos por aquello de lo que es más reconocido. Se le escucha divagando en diversos estilos. Hasta una canción completa en tonos sombríos. Raro. Pero buen disco.

Apenas su segundo disco. Se escucha aún el estilo relajado, áspero, y no tan pulido como el de sus materiales posteriores, sobre todo porque no habían incorporado sintetizadores o teclados tan protagónicos de sus producciones posteriores. Pero la base suena sólida. No tiene tantas melodías tan sobresalientes, pero es un disco divertido. Y merece una mención aparte porque trae "Bring Me The Night", temazo con una complejidad que divisaba lo que posteriormente se esperaría de la banda, pero sobre todo de Sting en solitario.
