My fav Springsteen album, I revisit it often. Born to Run was about growing up and breaking free. Darkness is about coming face to face with your decisions when your life didn't turn out the way you thought it would and finding peace there or fighting to change it. Adam has extra meaning for me now that I have a son. May his sins be his own. Racing in the street is possibly Bruce's greatest song(besides Thunder Road). "She stares off alone into the night with the eyes of one who hates for just being born" Badlands and darkness always resonate. There isn't a weak track on this album. "And when the promise was broken, I cashed in a few of my dreams"

Some parts reminded me of Yoko

All Ratings
No hits, sounds like a bunch of songs thrown together.
Enjoyed this more than I thought I would.
Kinda boring, was putting me to sleep
Boring
Not my favorite CSN album but solid
A min into track 1 I thought I hated it the longer I listened it grew on me a bit. I probably won't even listen to it again
This pony has zero tricks.
Some good songs, a few songs I skipped.
Boring
Good cover of blue moon, and if course sweet Jane. Solid
Listened to this album about 6 times in 2 days.
I don't get it
Boring
20 years since I listened to this album. Time machine back to high school.
Dirty work, that's it.
Never really got into these dudes
Made my head ache worse.
Taj Mahal played on this album. 5 stahs
I don't like the "musical" production.
Depressing songs and lacks the normal energy. 5 stahs
Not well versed in world music, but I liked it.
Incredible voice
A little too country for me
Just a little too much sitar for my liking
Mostly forgettable except Help Me, great opening and her voice sounds great. Can one song make an album?
I liked this one
"We are family" was on the do not play list for my wedding reception, so.....
Nice listen on a Sunday morning.
Felt that Dreams song, the rest not so much.
There's a reason why it typically rated one if the best albums of all time.
Enjoyed it
Love the energy.
B52s without the upbeat energy or the hits.
First half was better than the second half. Overall I enjoyed it
Couldn't make it through the whole album.
Wish it was longer.
Solid
Great album cover, better than the music.
Kinda catchy but mostly forgettable.
Liked it more than I thought I would.
Couldn't make it through the first song.
Band on the run and Jet, of course. Even nineteen hundred and eighty five and Helen wheels play but for my money I'm taking Let me roll it and Mrs. Vanderbilt, cuz you know "what's the use in worrying?" No use!
Dated. Or nostalgic if you're a fan I guess. Too brooding for me. Oh it's that one song from that one movie. Forgettable songs for forgettable movies.
A bit to folky for me. Don't get why the became song is in the album 3 times, weird. Not terrible tho
Didn't hate it.
Nothing stood out to me. Ok as background music while I worked.
Ugh, loud and boring. Are they married or brother and sister? Who knows, who cares. Black Keys wanna be, I know that!
Not bad.
Very funky
Title track and jealous guy are great the rest in meh.
Some of Elvis's best songs on this album.
Not bad, but missing a single.
Not sure if I'd listen to it again but I enjoyed it.
Wasn't feeling this one
It's like a greatest hits album.
Not bad, wasn't up beat enough for me.
Not a bad way to stay my morning.
Too weird
Kind of a weird mix, sounded like a playlist rather than an album, but I liked it.
Surprised I actually liked this one.
Not sure what I was listening too.
I prefer at Folsom Prison over this album but this one is solid. Especially like the interaction with the audience
Not really sure what I was listening to.
Not sure about this one, gotta listen to it a few more times.
Didn't like the singer's voice and it sounds over produced and too much going on. No heart or soul, just noise to me.
I don't get it.
The first part of "I've seen all good people" is where it's at.
No thanks
Not frequent go to for me but solid.
Not bad, but I'm not really a fan of punk
Not my fav Beatles album
Couldn't get through it. It seems too dated in that early 2000 whiny, mumbled voice
Not sure what that voices of old people track was.
Heart shaped box is a banger.
I don't get all the hype around this one.
Only knew a couple of songs on this album but really enjoyed it
The more I listen the more I like.
Greatest Christmas album ever
Your review said it perfectly! Ha
Not really my jam.
Not a big JT fan, for my money I'll take Teacher or Bungle in the Jungle
Catchy songs but lacks substance
Didn't care for this one.
Lacking a bit of soul from that area but solid
Boring
"Eileen", sure and even their cover of"Jackie Wilson said" wasn't bad. The rest was meh.
Made me want to listen to the talking heads
Not sure what to make of this one. It feels like it may take multiple listens to enjoy.
I tried but only made it to track two.
Better than expected.
I was bored
Great album
Early Stones! "Tell me" was the stand out for me.
Boring, repetitive.
Missing a single.
First couple tracks were ok but lost me on track 3.
Relaxing
It was ok as background music while I worked.
Pretty meh except wishing well
Only knew killer queen prior to listening to this album.
Nah
Didn't care for dude's voice and the pace of the songs.
Weird. Sounds like music from a horror movie.
Not a fan of Coldplay but I liked sparks.
Hit after hit.
Enjoyed it a bit more than I thought I would. Doobie Wah was👍
I had no idea this was electronic music prior to listening. Sounds like video game music.
Couldn't really get into this one.
Better than the stooges album I just listened to, but still meh.
Hahahahahhahahhahhahhaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahhahahahahahahaahah
I'm more familiar with the best of album, this had some nice gems I wasn't aware of.
I only know the hits. Most of these were deep cuts for me.
No commercial hits on this album, but still a nice mellow sound.
I liked the album cover better then the album. 5 staas
Pretty good
The balls to pull this off in a prison, incredible. The announcements and crowd add so much. How can you not want to be a criminal after cocaine blues make it sound/feel so cool.
Great songs, embedded ina specific time and movement. Inspirational.
Better than anticipated!
Pretty good.
3.5 stars. This album has a nice flow to it
Not a fan of this one although I did like the title track
Not bad, sounded the an Oceans movie soundtrack.
This dude only has one hit and it's not on this album.
Grove is in the heart isn't bad. One hit wonder.
I like the energy but the lyrics and message was buried under the noise. It could totally be my problem or maybe I'm just old.
Good news: I didn't skip through any songs. Bad news: still didn't care for it. Aja(song) is too long and plodding. Deacon blues is weird. Is it about football or losers? After reading about it there is a connection but geez, you'd never know just by listening to the song. The Peg intro is cheesy, dee-dee-deeee. "White kids trying to make jazz in suburbia", is how they describe themselves. Yep exactly what I expect that to sound like. Most of this album sounds like they threw together words that rhyme to fit the music with a faint connection if you dig deep enough. This album is constantly considered one of the greatest, I just don't get it. It's not jazz, it's not pop, its not rock what is it? Fusion? Fusion of the worst parts of those three genres, IMO.
Only vaguely knew the title track before listening. Fav tracks are Saint to sinner and the title track. I like the gender role reversal on these songs: You're bad, I'm bad, everybody take their lumps. Her voice sounds great. Steel guitar! Sun is going down, drop the needle and pass the whiskey.
Yesssss. Awesome album, hits and lesser known gems. Anyone who's ever been in a relationship can relate to one or all of these songs about anger, jealousy, missed opportunities, secret feelings, etc. Still feels fresh almost 50 yrs later.
Not bad, I prefer the other Super grass album we had a couple weeks ago over this one.
Didn't care for this one.
Solid
I liked the instrumental parts.
Not a big fan of punk but this album was pretty good.
The volume always goes to 11 when LA Woman comes on. I love the visuals that songs paints, the build up, all of it. Really liked been down so long and cars, which I hadn't heard before.
A few good songs but not a great album. Lacks the energy expected from Elvis.
Never been a fan of Depeche mode.
Not terrible, but not good.
Love the guitar work on Iain't superstitious and Bolero
I've been listening to(and enjoying ) more classic country lately and this one is up there. All solid songs but seems like the album(as a whole) is missing a hit single.
Not really into reggae but "stir it up" is a great song.
She might be cool and she has a history with rock and roll, but I didn't like her music or voice.
Though one for me to rate because I love her voice but none of the songs jumped out and grabbed me.
Really liked this one, listen to it multiple times
Outside of solsbury Hill I didn't like this one.
I feel bad rating this one because I'm pretty sure I am not in the intended demographic.
Went back and forth a lot trying to decide 4 or 5.
The length was off putting initially but th second go-round I enjoyed it more.
I haven't these songs since the 90s and didn't realize so many of these songs were hits back then.
Didn't listen
Yessss. Nice mood booster today.
Not good, not bad. There are some "hits", but the whole thing feels dated. Kinda campy.
I liked this one more than I anticipated. This was a long album, took 2 days to listen to. Definitely enjoyed disc 1 more than disc 2.
Forgettable and it put me to sleep.
Not as bad as I thought it would be, but likely would never listen to again.
Was hoping to like this one more
I like Lucinda Williams but didn't care for this album. Enjoyed "can't let go".
Reminds me of Coldplay.
Important post 9/11 album. Sounds a bit dated and there are a couple skips but still a solid record.
Can't get enough Buffalo Springfield, this one's been on repeat for days. Broken arrow is 🔥
Absolutely terrible
Very chill, will give this one a few replays and see if I enjoy it more.
A bit excessive, don't think I need a 23 minute version of whipping post.
No thanks
It interesting to relisten to some of these dated albums and think "now I know why one or two of these songs were hits and the others I've never heard".
Not for me
Not my style, but I didn't hate it.
Liked track 1 but then it fell off
I think the more I listen to this one, the more I'll like it.
Not sure about this one.
Finally something to get the blood pumping in the morning! Getting tired of these long boring albums lately!! Awesome debut album, starts kinda slow but stop your sobbing, kid, brass and mystery achievement are A+
One and done.
Beautiful album.
Is this AI?
Not bad
One star because this is the second KOL album on this list.
Almost didn't listen to this one, but I gave it chance. Lots of F bombs and elementary lyrics/themes and fake rage. Takes me back to 2000, people repping the IE with Metal Militia stickers on their lifted Silverados heading to the river. I can see why it was popular 25 years ago with that new rap/rock sound but LB getting 20mil monthly plays on Spotify today is crazy. Guess there is still a lot of youth with miss placed anger towards everything, and nothing specifically?? Or maybe 20mil are just nostalgic for 2000? It was pretty sweet compared to today, even if we had to suffer through LB.
Not a huge JT fan, always thought his music was more background/elevator/doctor's office feel with a few solid hits but I liked this one. Can't say I remember too many details since it did fade into the background.
We already know.
I started liking this album the more it progressed. Total trash was my favorite I think.
Not my jam
It was ok
Hometown blues, the wild one and American girl are enough to give this album 4 stars
Didn't like it, didn't hate it.
Harmonies, California, '68-69, Laurel Canyon, what's not to like? Fav track: 49 bye-byes
Listened to this while working, on repeat (by accident). I think I listened to it 3 times before I realized. All the songs sound the same. 2.5 stars
I didn't know the last 4 or 5 songs. Killer opening with the first 3. 4.5 stars, do I round up or down 🤔
Here cover of these days was not good. Couldn't listen after that.
Not my fav Beatles album, but I was ground breaking.
Didn't get it.
Classic
Zero skips. Bullet the blue sky into running to stand still into red hill mining town is 🔥🔥
Street life is a banger, even tho I prefer the '81 version. 3.5 stars
Not interested in what Kanye has to say as a person or an artist.
Not really my jam.
One hit wonder?
This one surprised me, 3.5 stars
5 stahs
Roundabout and long distance runaround are enough to get this album to 4 stars.
Kinda liked this one.
Not good.
Reminds me of Natalie Merchant
Not terrible.
Idk what I just listened to.
Pretty good, I listened to it a few times. Reminds me of Tom Waits, a bit.
After listening to the last 4-5 albums on this list I almost forgot what good music sounds like.
Nah
Not bad considering I didn't know what to expect.
Takes me back to '98/'99. This one never resonated with me.
I wanted to like this one more than I did. Track 1 rips
I was wondering when we'd get a Tom Waits album, but I wasn't anticipating it being this one.
Criminal was the only song I knew, the rest were boring.
Somebody to love and white rabbit are enough to score this one a 4.
Holds up pretty well.
Not a fan of this genre but I gave it shot. Not terrible.
Not sure if I gave this one a fair listen, but 2 stahs.
His hits are a worn out(I shot the sheriff, Layla, etc.). Enjoyed Motherless child and let it grow.
Ngl they almost lost me with that recorder song. 2.5
Weird
Some parts reminded me of Yoko
Not my fav LZ album(probably HoH or Physical Graffiti. But what about IV, and 1 is so good(and underrated )And don't sleep on In through the out door) , looks like I know what I'm doing for the rest of the day. 5 stahs.
Definitely need to do a deep dive into John Prine. I only know a few of his songs. Crazy to think I've never any of his songs on the radio.
Didn't know any of the songs but not bad.
Started to grow on me towards the end.
Weird
Kinda meh
The hits are great
So many his on this album
Not my cup o' tea.
Liked it more than I thought I would.
I think this is the group that played on Graceland with Paul Simon.
Only knew Ace of Spades but didn't hate the album. The quality is not great and not really my cup of tea.
Turn it up to 11!
Couple of good songs, mist were meh.
Awesome voice
I liked the other album by this group more than this one.
I remember liking those first two tracks like 20 years ago, haven't heard them since. Probably used then as my ring tone or were they from a commercial?
Was a bit underwhelming, great vocals tho.
Nice
Gets better with every listen and it's quickly moving up the ranks of my favorite LZ albums.
Great way to start my Friday.
Nah
I can't get enough of Mark's guitar. The opening rift on Down to the water line is not face melting but so good, chef's kiss. Of course Sultans of Swing but don't sleep on Wild West End too.
Not as bad as I thought it would be
Enjoyed the first half more than the second.
Didn't do much for me. Was this big locally?
Sounds like background or theme music
Hahaha
5 stash, for real this time
Not bad
Not bad despite not knowing what they were singing about.
Didn't love it?
4-5 songs in the middle are kinda weak. Or maybe Young Americans and Fame are so good they outshine the others?
Listened to this one a couple times. It got better with each spin.
Solid
Frank sings about how much love can suck and sounds great doing it.
I can't seem to get into any of these punk albums.
4 stars after a couple listens
Idk what I just listened to. Didn't hate it, but likely wouldn't queue it up again.
3.5
I listened to this album about 4 times and still struggle to come up with a rating.
Nah
I like his song writing, but don't care for his voice.
Not terrible. I've listened to worse, today.
Not how I wanted to start my come back, or my Friday morning!
Like this one.
