Thoroughly enjoyable, nothing much that's eye-opening or inventive. Early 90s radio. Mrs. Robinson cover is pretty good. If you're wondering what other song sounds like "My Drug Buddy"... took me a while, but I think it's Dirty Work by Steely Dan.
I think some of the reviews here saying all the songs sound exactly the same is quite the exaggeration, unless sticking to one genre constitutes as that nowadays. Songs were enjoyable if a little simple, but sometimes something more lighthearted is good. I may be bias though, my parent's showed me Lemonheads at a young age, so I may be going easy on it.
Good album, it gave off that early 90s grunge rock vibe. I need to listen to more 90s alternative rock albums.
Well, when I think early '90s movies, this pretty much could have been the soundtrack to any of them. Straightforward alt jangle Pop/rock.
It's good!
As far as the main selection of the album goes, it's pretty middle of the road. It doesn't do anything amazing or mindblowing, but it's not doing anything terrible, either. However, it really picks up with the acoustic and demo tracks into a much more interesting and beautiful sound. But it feels weird to rate an album so highly based on bonus tracks, so, 3/5.
Mrs Robinson cover was good. Cant remember what movie that was in. I like the punk/ska feel to this album.
It's fine. Couple cool songs but nothing blowing me away
I wasn't familiar with The Lemonheads before although I think I've heard their cover of Mrs. Robinson before. I think I can describe this album bast as a typical 90's indie rock album. They don't have that 'unique' sound. Makes me feel like putting on some R.E.M. of Counting Crows, because that's what I associate this albums music with. It has that feel of 'overthinking life/tough life choice moment' you see in series/movies sometimes which is complimented with a slow indie rock ballad like song to close the scene. That what I think off when listen to these song. Not bad, but not awesome either. I think I prefer the Crows or R.E.M. instead tbh.
Im unsure how to judge this album. Its a pretty good representation of 90s alt rock but nothing stands out. Most popular track is a cover, albeit a good cover at that.

Pretty generic 90s alt rock album. This felt like a compilation of songs as there didn’t seem to be a cohesive element to them. There was a cover or two in here too. The singer isn’t bad and the band plays well but I just found some of the songs odd and nothing too special. But overall it’s ok. 4.9/10

Mrs. Robinson is the banger of this album. The rest feels very garage band with a few pop punk crowd pleasers sprinkled in.

I didn't find anything remarkable about this album. Just a middle-of-the-road, alternative rock album. The cover of Mrs. Robinson was the best track, and it wasn't close.
Have not listened to The Lemonheads a lot, but I liked this album, especially the title track. Nice, clean guitar work and vocals, sometimes that is all you need. The album rocked, but i did I appreciate the acoustic and slide guitar that appeared, however minimally.

Rant time. No disrespect to the Lemonheads—after all I’m giving this album 2 more stars than Tubular Bells—however, I’d argue that Tubular Bells belongs on this list more than this album, despite the fact I’d listen to the Lemonheads over Tubular Bells any day. I say this after having investigated what is and, importantly, is not included in the 1001 albums list from the book. So… this over several missing albums? No. This over several over-represented artists on this list? Yes. Rant over. Thank you Mr Dando.

Evan Dando and his beautiful head of hair knows how to craft perfect pop songs. He's proof that all of us gorgeous people can be talented, too. Bonus points for the appearance of the underappreciated Juliana Hatfield, and that terrific cover of Mrs. Robinson.

Sounds like any generic 90's band that you'd expect to find in the soundtrack of a bad movie, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I guess the 90s did have a certain sound, like the theme song from friends, this one with an increase of the blaring guitar sound. Alright.

Pretty decent set of songs. They go by real quick though not everything gives off a lasting impression. Surprisingly the singles for this were not my favorite, and instead some of the deep-cuts caught my attention more.

Never heard about these guys before. Nothing really special and I probably won't revisit it. But I enjoyed this as a very solid alternative rock album. Fun to listen to and not too abrasive for background listening while working. 3.5 rounded up.
Pretty good, definitely my style
I saw the Lemonheads open for Dinosaur Jr last year. I think it was to advertise for the 30th anniversary of this album actually. I thought they sucked except for the drummer. That drummer was crazy whoever it was (I bet it was a random guy to fill in). There was a middle-aged fanboy there, and I thought "geesh is this the type of forgotten 90s bands people talk about that appeal to this demographic?" Well, I actually appreciate them much more listening to this album in its entirety. Alternative rock is a broad genre that became mainstream in the 90s, but this actually came a bit too early, even before grunge took the whole market, so despite fitting in with the aesthetic, it more so aligns with a power-pop movement that was happening the same time, which would soon evolve into pop punk. I'm pretty sure it aligns with this movement not just because the vocals and melody sound like power-pop, but because there's a jangly guitar that matches adjacent alt rock 80s bands like REM and Replacements. Wikipedia labels it as grunge, and I could see some signs of it with the distorted guitar and deep bass, but I theorize that mostly follows from popular noise rock acts like *cough* Dinosaur Jr, Sonic Youth, or the Pixies. Genre discussion aside, it's a pleasing listen difficult to despise. There are a lot of duds, but on the bright side the songs are short (nearly half are under 2 minutes), so if you tire of an idea, just wait another minute. I can't tell if I like or dislike Juliana's contributions. I like the slide guitar happy tropical sound in "Hannah and Gabi." The mood is cheery in general, but it gets heavier in the last few tracks. I like the style and it has its highlights, but I wouldn't consider them influential or essential. Favorites: It's a Shame About Ray, Rudderless, My Drug Buddy, Bit Part

Such a classic album! Every song is pop rock perfection.
It's nice, reasonably inoffensive, no particularly strong feelings either way. The songs Triple J used to play back in the day were the best ones on the album.

This was probably the best album in their progression towards more mellow tunes. At the time it was probably an album by a traditionally grunge band that your parents wouldn’t mind you putting on. Loved it at the time and still remember all the words.

I miss this lighter, more gently weird side of that swath of genre you used to be able to get away with just calling “alternative” back in the 90s. Mostly just good old rock and roll, and I’m not sure this distinguishes itself that highly above many similar acts of the age, most of which didn’t manage to crest much above regional recognition. But I liked it perfectly well.
100% 90's Alt-rock album.
The Lemonheads (and Evan Dando) always show up on lists of super influential early 90s bands. While I feel the music is decent, I don't find anything about it particularly interesting or captivating. I also can't STAND Mrs. Robinson...such an overplayed song. Overall an average record. 3/5

Really 90s alt-rock. Fun to listen to and each song is nice and short which is always a plus. 3.5/5
Just not that good. Likable and approachable, sure, but first half is awfully samey and formulaic (simple chords + mid-tempos + rolling beats + longing, semi-ironic vocals + rinse + repeat). Second half is slightly better. The steel guitar on “Hannah and Gabi” just reminds one how little variation there is. “Drug Buddy” and “Bit Part” are best of the lot. The S&G cover is merely annoying, partially because it was well-loved by knuckleheads. This is my sweet spot and era and these guys failed to impress then, a poor-man’s Replacements at best, strike me the same way now. They didn’t exactly overwhelm contemporary competition (Buffalo Tom, Soul Asylum and Grant Lee Buffalo and, adjacently, Yo La Tengo and Dinosaur, Jr. [both of which, along with the criminally-excluded-from-this-study ‘Mats, are much, MUCH better bands]). One smiles, one taps one’s toe, but remains underwhelmed, but "bubblegrunge" was on target and maybe flattering to the LH’s. 2.5 > 2

This is something I will be listening to again, adding to my collection. I knew a couple of tracks, most obviously the cover of Mrs. Robinson which apparently wasn't even on the original release. Did not know Julianna Hatfield was part of this as well. Always loved the album Become What You Are by her...so this is just a nice add on.

American Brit pop, which is odd as a concept! Good, but not great, with the title track and the cover of Mrs Robinson being the most immediate tracks. Plenty of other decent songs too though. One other thing: the audio quality of some of the bonus tracks sounds like a cassette taped from a vinyl record that had been left in the sun - so much hiss and pop!
Most of it was really good, but it dropped off in the end for me. I prefer Simon and Garfunkel's version of Mrs. Robinson over this one, but it's not bad.

First off the title track is one my favorite songs of all time, it finds its way on so many of my playlists. Confetti and My Drug Buddy are great tunes as well. While it was overplayed as shit back in the 90's, Mrs Robinson is still a good cover. Last thing Juliana Hatfield's backing vocals are awesome this album. It's probably a 4 star album but I'll give it 5 stars based on the title track and the fact it reminds of being 20 again.
Anyone turned on to Lemonheads with Lick, Lovey, and the Favorite Spanish Dishes EP pointed to IASAR coming once Dando had the right lineup and songwriting partners. Hatfield’s backing vocals add some sweet, sometimes sad, texture to Dando’s singing. This is a perfectly crafted indie-pop album. It’s a road-trip sing-along record that can be played on repeat. Except for one thing… when I got the CD back in the day it didn’t have the Mrs. Robinson cover. I prefer that version. It wasn’t a necessary add and it’s inclusion diminished the album a bit.

Typical early 90s alt/college rock. If I was a couple of years older, I probably would've been really into them. As it is, it's a good album, one I'm glad I listened to, and one I'll go back and listen to again. I'm sure they were on a bunch that I can't think of at the moment, but I can just see in my head the number of indie/Miramax movies from the 90s that would've used some of these songs on the soundtracks.
The Lemonheads have melody writing down, but too-quickly give it up to slide on every song into acoustic guitar pop-punk jangle. Without a concept to tie it together, the record slid past without making much of an impact on me.

It's a shame Evan Dando cannot sing properly. A few of the better songs can withstand his bland performance, but half of the songs are not that good and the limitations of singer and band start to annoy.
-That riff in "Rockin' Stroll" sounds like "The Trooper" by Iron Maiden -I totally interpreted the lyrics of "Frank Mills" to say that George Harrison was a drummer ("He was last seen with his friend, a drummer / He resembles George Harrison of The Beatles") -Pretty nice alternative rock
I thought this one was pretty good. The songs here are pretty basic stuff, but well-made. There's some nice solos on here, particularly on 'confetti' and the title track. Overall I think this one is a three stars. It's good, but the songs aren't really adventurous or inventive enough to warrant anything more.
This was only ok to me. The music was pretty underwhelming and all the songs sounded exactly the same. I perked up at one song (Frank Mills), but then realized I just recognized that song from Hair.
Love the lemonheads, but this is my first time with this album. Love the title track, Evan Dando's signature vocals are great as usual, and there lyricism and pure pop/punk reminiscent of cotemporaries Greenday but I feel they have a more artful/literary bent with songs that tell real stories. Love "Rockin Stroll" "My Drug Buddy" "Alison's Starting To Happen" and the McCartney like "Hannah & Gabi" lovely album rightfully on this list. A 4 from me.
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this album. It seems to have predicted the rise of early 2000s alternative rock and I even heard the seeds of pop punk in there as well.

I have a real nostalgic fondness for this record. In 1991, I moved out of home and into the inner city of Sydney, hanging around Glebe and Newtown and seeing gigs at the Annandale Hotel, working in a grungy record store. As it so happens, Evan Dando was also hanging around Glebe and Newtown and the Annandale Hotel (I would see him there pretty regularly around that time) and hanging out with local musos and people who worked in record stores. and he wrote this album about that. The sound, the songs, the people in it, the videos, all reflect that time. the tunes are great, all the songs are really short and leave you wanting more. Celebrity never did Evan any favours, and he never hit this peak again. I love this record, because it is a cracking listen and because it reminds me of a special time in my youth. (I also had a crush on Alison, from the song Alison's starting to happen. She worked at another record store and played drums in a band. She was really cool, and really starting to happen).

I was quite looking forward to playing that I knew of the Lemonheads but had never listened to an entire album theirs before. Every day’s a school day and all that. However, I didn’t really find anything in this to latch on to. I’m not even sure how I would describe it if someone asked me. “mature 90s alt rock” maybe? Feels very much of its time and place, but it didn’t grab me in the way I had hoped.
Grunge hasn't aged well. I always viewed Mrs Robinson as comedy record. Didn't make it to the end of this album. I'd forgotten all about Juliana Hatfield.

First time listening to this one. I have heard of the Lemonheads, but I don't think I can name one song. None of the songs on this one are familiar to me. I think it has potential and there are a few songs that really stand out to me. The first was My Drug Buddy. The title track, It's a Shame About Ray is the next best song followed by the cover of Mrs. Robinson. Others: Bit Part, Hannah & Gabi, and Frank Mills. 2.5/5

Good 90s vibes
Genre: Power Pop 3/5 This is the most album-ass album I've heard all week. A 90s rock album that does everything, and sounds like everything, which has preceded it. There is truly nothing very interesting, except for some fun chordplay from lead guitarist/singer Evan Dando, but the vocals are bland, and the production is as stale as ever. This album could pass off as the CD the band who plays at the bar down the street made. A good album by the band who plays at the bar down the street, but that's really about it. Certainly does not feel like an essential listen, and not one needed to be listened to before death, but it was peppy, inoffensive, and made me tap my foot. All you can ask for in a "power pop" record. Even one as remarkably dull as this.
Kitchen Spicy but not liquor, funny how the fruit and the radio come out at the same time. So it's a shame about Ray, isn't it? A great soft rock / nearly punk album release at the beginning of the growing hip-hop songs and trash metal albums, being now for 3 decades a record lost in time and space. I think that people are never satisfied, "songs too long (too short in this case)", "too many tracks on the album", "it's a shame because the tracks are the same" and stuff like that. 1992 was great year of music and certainly Lemonheads were one of the lost boys that hope people listen to, but they were focused in other names, well, it's a shame about them…. 5 stars immediately. Sentimental favorite. Way too many memories attached to this one to pretend. But also I think these quickie songs hold up - catchy as all shit and taking you to some unusual places - at least for music made in '92. If you like this and have never listened to their album 'Hate Your Friends', give it a try.
Really tuneful jangly indie that leans almost into power pop territory. None of the songs outstay their welcome, so each is like a technicolour splash in the ol' auditory canal. Nothing stood out, which is perhaps a strength - ie, everything here is of a consistent high quality
I don't really need to re-listen to this because I'm never not listening to it in my head. "Rudderless," "Allison's Starting to Happen," "Ceiling Fan in my Spoon," "Frank Mills," the Simon & G-Funk cover... it's everything that I want from this type of music, in that it's perfectly imperfect and constructed with the utmost simplicity needed to lodge itself in my brain. Evan Dando is probably an awful human being, but fortunately I don't have to date him. Also, “Nursery Cryme ” by Genesis. That’s the one to listen to instead of the one that was on this list.
Having only been familiar with them from their famous cover of Mrs. Robinson, this band is essentially a one hit wonder to me. I always figured they were grunge-adjacent folky pop rock like Blind Melon, and this album pretty much confirms all my expectations. This is a bit more upbeat than Blind Melon but not nearly as interesting. It's perfectly listenable, if bland entry in 90s alternative rock.

I'm only about 5 songs in but this is the most 90s rock album I've ever heard in my life. If you asked a computer to make an amalgamation of all 90s rock bands this is what it would spit out. This is right up my alley, never heard of this band but really digging it and added a few songs to my playlist. One thing I always do when a band I've never heard of comes up on this list is try and figure out which song is that one song that I've definitely heard before; super easy in this case.

Not to bad listen to most of it
It's a shame about Evan Dando.. pretty boy Evan was the rage and the scorn of 90's music. Unfortunately, I was a consumer of the later feelings and didn't really appreciate him until after the Lemmonheads heyday. My girlfriend "Beefdog" had this CD and I remember listening to it a lot when we first moved in together. It grew on me and so did the Lemonheads. I know Paul Simon HATED the Mrs. Robinson cover but I think it's the best and most fun track on this album. Great album. It is quintessential early 90's granola rock when Evan Dando was a smoldering Adonis and the ire of Seattle grunge.
The Lemonheads’ “It’s A Shame About Ray” kind of sounds like the bridge between Elvis Costello and emo. And yet it's perfectly tolerable. Not special though. The addition of the “Mrs. Robinson” cover in the reissue might have given the album the special honor of highest percentage of songs named after people. But I still don’t know about Ray. What was such a shame??
Is this the group that sings the Friends song? The only halfway decent song here is the “bonus” track remake of the Simon & Garfunkel classic which, aside from its janky, driving beat, has none of the charm or musicality of the original.
When Evan and Juliana are singing together I perk up. There voices blend well (Drug Buddy). Bit Part is good. Energy to write more depleted.

Mostly inoffensive.
You really hit my sweet spot today. This was my absolute favorite album in '92-'93, one I still pull out to hear from time to time. It's a perfect little musical gem of that moment in time, one that has held up beautifully over the past 30 years. This album is full of edgy power pop, with a great mix of melodic, bittersweet toe tappers and muscular, energetic rockers. It has those ragged, grungy edges that made it fit in so well in its time. There is a nice interplay of jangly and jagged guitars burning at the edges that keep any of these songs from getting too pretty. The mood of the album goes a level deeper than most power pop, with a strangely cheerful malaise, conveyed through some wonderful, catchy hooks and thoughtful lyrics. It never gets overly dark or dour though. Some of Evan Dando’s lyrics may hint at dissatisfaction and restlessness, but the more pensive and personal songs like “Rudderless” or “Confetti” live easily alongside songs that are just pure fun like “Rockin Stroll” and “Alison’s Starting to Happen.” Dando delivers the lyrics perfectly, with a warm, sometimes slightly wistful and bittersweet vocal. He doesn’t convey the detachedness or irony of some of his contemporaries, so the lyrics come across as very heartfelt. Juliana Hatfield’s brief vocal appearances are like a little lemon zest on your pasta, bright and unexpected. I find myself really enjoying "Hannah & Gabi" today, which wasn't a song I gave much thought to in ‘92. It’s actually one of the best songs on the album, and probably the best musically executed song on here. The slide guitar on that song is really gorgeous. I did not know until today that it was the amazing Jeff "Skunk" Baxter playing on that song. Every song on here is terrific, with no filler. The flow of the album is crisp and concise, clocking in at around 33 minutes if you include “Mrs. Robinson.” The Simon & Garfunkel cover that was added to later versions of the album is doesn’t add a thing, but still sounds pretty great. The cover of “Frank Mills” from Hair is actually very sweet and engaging. Lighter punk feel. Easy listening for the style of music and a couple of the "hits" on this album.
Thoroughly enjoyable, nothing much that's eye-opening or inventive. Early 90s radio. Mrs. Robinson cover is pretty good. If you're wondering what other song sounds like "My Drug Buddy"... took me a while, but I think it's Dirty Work by Steely Dan.

Finding this rather exhausting. This is what Wilco would sound like if Wilco sucked. Thought Mrs. Robinson might make me like them more but that one annoyed me too.
This was one of the first CDs I owned but I don't particularly have a ton of nostalgia for it. Kinda surprised it's on this list.
It's ok. Actually liked the demos better than the produced tracks. Pretty standard 90s alt-rock.
When the most memorable song on an album is a last song cover, you might think it's an awful album. But this one is fantastic. For some reason, I love the song Frank Mills and the change of tempo/tone throughout the song.
Very solid and enjoyable. Not a lot of absolute bangers, but the album is solid from start to finish and has a great alternative vibe.

Outside of the cover of Mrs. Robinson which I've heard many times, I found this album to be pretty generic. Nothing really stuck out. Not bad, but also no reason to listen to again. 3.

Jeez that artwork alone is enough to transport me back to 1991. Rare for a band to launch with a cover and then be able to back it up with their own material but Lemonheads did it. My favourite kind of indie pop-production standards don't have to be abandoned just because it's indie pop. A genuine treat to listen to the whole album.

I really liked this one. If Nirvana was a cup of black coffee. You know, the kind where there's inevitably some grounds at the bottom. If Nirvana's that, this cup of tea. It's by no means a happy album but it's got a calm melancholy you can take refuge in.
Hi: Ceiling Fan in My Spoon, Allison Is Starting to Happen Lo: Rudderless, Frank Mills, Mrs. Robinson Ever heard of the 90's? oh you have? Then have you heard that song with the not-too-crunchy guitar, not-too-whiny voice singing about a girl he likes or his friend that does drugs or some everyday random observation...and it's short and punchy...You know the one right? It's basically every 90's alternogrunge, Dinosaur Jr, Buffalo Tom, most of the Reality Bites soundtrack, or spinning in Rachel Greene's Discman. I don't know if the Lemonheads invented the sound, but one listen and you know exactly what decade it is, because it perfectly encapsulates the whole decade, either because it's the template or it's just so generic. I don't know...There are some serious clunkers on this album. Rudderless sounds like a skipping record, Frank Mills is a meandering lukewarm attempt, and I have never been a fan of the Mrs. Robinson cover...On the other hand, It's a Shame About Ray isn't a shame at all, it's soulful and sappy. Alison is bouncy and enjoyable...Ceiling Fan is catchy, pointless, and fun. 3 stars.

Mag das Album sehr, bin mir aber nicht so sicher warum das auf der Liste ist. War das im Musikjahr 1992 wirklich einer der größten Würfe? Evan singt jedenfalls schön, und Juliana Hatfields Präsenz finde ich ebenfalls sehr angenehm. Immer wieder auch interessant das Wissen um die allumfassende Fertigkeit der Protagonisten (auch schon damals) und ihren doch so freundlich und nett erscheinenden Output. Ach so, recht stümperhafte Produktion auch, ist mir erst jetzt aufgefallen.

A proper power pop album chock full of good tunes. Evan Dando knows his songcraft. A bit druggy, a bit slack but a joy, nonetheless.
I had a lot of fun with this one! Pretty solid! Glad I listened to it. A lot of good tracks. The "Mrs. Robinson" cover was VERY unexpected, but as a big Simon and Garfunkel fan, I greatly appreciated it. Overall, a very good album.
Good album, not really my genre
I thought it was fun and I like the music I did an absolutely love the singing but I don’t like it overall it was a good beat and yeah
A fun throwback to my immediate post-college years, this album is nothing complicated but filled with immediately catchy pop-rock songs in the vein of early-ish Goo Goo Dolls. The album gets going right off the bat with "Rockin Stroll" and those first four songs in particular are great. My personal favourite is "Rudderless" in that it stays relatively contained until that very end double time chorus gives a great release. If there's a negative, Evan Dando's voice gets a little tiresome for me (would have liked Juliana Hatfield to sing a few tunes - would have made this album even better, mixing it up a bit) but the good thing is that it's a short album :) that closes with a banging cover of "Mrs. Robinson." Again - nothing specialized but highly recommended. 7/10 4 stars (ranked based on the original release. I'm not a fan of the "extended" album / demos - so if you're in the same boat stop playing after "Mrs. Robinson" (Apple Music))

The vocalist sounds a LOT like Pat Dinizio of The Smithereens (that's not a bad thing). It's too bad most people think of the "Mrs. Robinson" cover; these songs are catchy. But that just might be the vocals for me.
Huge fan of this period of rock but not sure what is so amazing about this album. For sure there were a lot of bands with the Lemonheads sound after this album came out (especially in Canada) but I don't know if that was due to their inspiration or because these guys were what record companies were looking for then. I actually went back to this album over the summer thinking there's gotta be more to the band & album than their Mrs. Robinson remake. And there is but it's not earth shattering. It's melodic and catchy, with liberal arts grad school lyrics, and takes folk rock to alternative heights. But nothing overly memorable.
A good solid, rocker. I almost took a star off of the rating for the intro to Bit Part though (annoys me every time I hear it). Great cover of Mrs. Robinson at the end too. Always loved the chords at the intro to Rudderless. A few tracks that I'm not crazy about (Turnpike Down, Bit Part and the Ceiling Fan in my Spoon song) but I'd say a solid 3.5 rounded down to 3. (it was that intro!)
It's a shame...this isn't better. Soulless slacker pop grunge. It's not bad...it's just not all that good.

Negligible cultural impact, negligible musical impact, negligible chart success. It's fine music, nothing really to complain about musically and I can see how critics would eat this up I guess. Dozens of albums get this amount of critical acclaim every year and yet this one gets on here. I would accuse them of bribing their way in but they didn't sell enough fucking units to do that. It blows my mind that this inconsequential good-mood grunge gets a spot on this list. I understand that this is a pretty harsh review for something I'm about to give 3 stars (it is a good album and I do genuinely like this genre of music) but this still feels like a wasted spot.

I love Evan Dando so, so much and this album is probably his best. The inclusion of Frank Mills from Hair, the musical makes me extra warm inside.
Classic 90's jingle-jangle guitar pop rock. This is music that could only have come out of that decade. Melodic, and nowhere near as dark as some of the music that was massive at the time. Evan Dando has such a knack for a tune. Gonna have a listen to their other albums now:-)

31st August 2021 Listened in the morning and while waiting for jen to go to Costco to buy stuff for Cox, Dan and ailis coming round for dinner. I'd heard of the lemonheads from people like Edith bowman but didn't realise they were nirvana style grunge. I liked it.
Just kinda mediocre music. I'm not sure what this inspired or how it's an important album, so I'm not sure why it's on this list. Favorite track: Mrs. Robinson
The punk undertones are heavy, but it is eclipsed by the mediocre sad/whiny 90s tone. Absolutely nothing of interest lyrically, and the 2 is only coming from the instrumentation being above average. That Mrs. Robinson cover is a nail in the coffin for this album. Christ almighty.

Pretty decent alternative rock album. Definitely stands out from those of the 90's since it's not as grungy. It takes up roots in the punk genre while adding acoustic guitar flare. The first half of the album has most of the good tracks, by the end of the 2nd half everything starts to feel stale. It falls in the space between stud and dud. Never heard the whole album when it came out. Knew the Mrs. Robinson cover and title track were good. First few songs were pretty good. Then it got boring. Meh.
Fun, typical 90s indie-pop rock. Of note, their cover of Simon and Garfunkel's 'Mrs. Robinson' was the first alt cover that was a significant hit. All of the covers today whether good or bad are because of this.

Great album, had never heard of this band before so was a good listen
This album made me feel like I was strolling down an aisle in Homebase, searching for the most commonplace of plumbing items, only to get distracted by colourful plastic kitchen appliances. It reminded me of the toys you find inside a Kellogg's cereal bag that make you feel simultaneously grateful and offended by their audacity to send you yet another piece of plastic for your lifelong it-could-come-in-handy hoarding pile.

A pretty enjoyable album and it grew on me the more I listened, despite the fact that only a few tracks really stood out for being distinctive. Of those that did, Bit Part was a really sad song with clever lyrics and Confetti was really catchy. A 3.5 stars but I’m generous and will round up.
Not much redeeming about this album it's rather boring to listen to. I find the mixing a bit off with the guitar tracks and vocals. Lyrics didn't grab me much. Might just be my taste and it's not so bad I couldn't finish it which is why it's not one star.

Punk... Não sei se há algum gênero musical mais genérico. O álbum em si não é mau, até é bastante catita, mas não consigo com Punk, não consigo achar piada nenhuma a isto. A melhor cantiga é o Frank Mills. Nota:5/10
