Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
BeatlesSolid album. Does waiver a little in the middle but otherwise quality. I’d say probably a 4.75 rounded to 5.

Pink Floyd are a dilemma for me, kind of like the Beatles. One of those bands you should like given my general taste in music. Don’t get me wrong, I do like them…but I think I’m a “greatest hits” type fan. They have some really good songs, and some of them are even on this album but I find a lot of the weird (quite possibly on drugs when recorded) music doesn’t do it for me. I remember when I bought the album (“because everyone should own DSOTM”) and listened to it for the first time. My general thought was there are a few good songs but the rest I either needed to be high or watching the wizard of oz (or both) to get through. Nothing has changed. This is the “Bladerunner of Albums”. So so but still good enough for a 3.5 rounded down.
Big Poppa is a classic and a couple of other catchy songs.
Easy listening like I was on an old VW bus.
Nothing really stood out about this. Other than it seemed like a lot of angst. Felt it got a bit too much by the end. Just a lot of unpleasant moaning
Solid. Sting is from my neck of the woods so may be a little bias. “Every Breath You Take” is a classic and made all the more impressive that it was written in minutes!
A whole lot of funk! Easy to listen to as background music and some good jams.
Paper planes is catchy AF and Boyz is solid. Otherwise nothing really to write home about.
Solid. I do enjoy Euro electronic. You can clearly hear the influence they’ve had on the genre
This came close to a 5*. I’d say it’s a true 4.5 but couldn’t round up. Good collection of songs with a couple of pure bangers! Very enjoyable
Couple of solid songs but otherwise I’d say just uneventful easy listening
Solid album. Does waiver a little in the middle but otherwise quality. I’d say probably a 4.75 rounded to 5.
Nothing really here than stood out or got me going. The last song sounded familiar but this didn’t do it for me.
Nothing offensive about this. Would likely not listed to again though.
This was easy to listen to. Felt like I could have been relaxing in a big book shop or coffee shop
Couple of solid songs. Killing me softly is a banger! Otherwise just OK. 3.5 rounded down
Nothing to write home about

Decent sound but nothing banging
Don’t mind CCR. Some decent songs and enjoyable to listen to. Have and will certainly listened to greatest hits of theirs. 3.5 if I could.
Struggled to get through this. I’m not knowledgeable of music so although it was nice to hear some theory, it didn’t make this any more pleasant
I know they were certainly very impactful on the scene and I’m a fan of some beastie boys songs. This started off ok, but it seemed like a lot of the same, with a lot of shouting.
Easy to listen to. Nothing to write home about.
Solid album with some undeniable classics!
Solid. Has all the musings of a good early 90s rap album. Found myself bobbing my head to the beats.
Easy to listen to but nothing standout. Apparently the nation mourned when she died so young.
Not sure what it is about some of these classic British rock albums where it seems the band was strung out on drugs when they made it. I like a lot of why Genesis did but this was tough and a little all over the place.
Always enjoyed Jamiroquai. Not the most memorable of their songs but still funky!
Quite enjoy The Prodigy. You do have to be in the right mood though. Found myself bouncing to most of this. Love me some 90s dance music!
Kicks off with an absolute banger and then slides into a decent album but never really reaches the heights of track 1
The sound of my first year of grad school. It is a very unique sound and can sometimes be too much but I do generally enjoy Mike Skinner.
This album didn’t know what it wanted to be and I found it a struggle to get through. When the first song started I thought maybe it was going to be solid but then I kind of just let it play out with nothing standing out.
This guy knows how to play guitar! Obviously Layla is out of this world and the sound of the whole album is quality. Just felt it dragged a bit at times. Perhaps it was one of those where you know the one song is coming so you’re listening with bated breath and everything else just drags until that point.
Nothing doing here. Got through it but wasn’t anything stand out.
Easy listening. Could have been in a bookstore. Take Five is solid.
I may be a little bias being for their neck of the woods but this album is full of great guitars and Sultans of Swing is an all time classic! Doesn’t do enough to be a 5 however.
Starts with a bang and remained decent throughout. Glad it didn’t fizzle out like I was thinking it might.
Enjoyed this album. Always a fan of 80s music and this cross between rock and synth was great to listen too. Felt like I could have been watching the Lost Boys movie. Definitely a dark goth feel to it. This Corrosion got me amped!
Fine to listen to but nothing stands out
Easy listening. Nothing memorable
Spent a lot of this album trying decide if this was good and in my wheelhouse or just a little too shouty. In the end I leaned more to the latter.
Quite enjoyable. Although i couldn’t understand what he was saying (but, given the pleasant tones, it probably wasn’t about shoving a Glock in some dudes face and/or aggressively having sex) the beats where solid.
ding a ding dang my dang along ling long! Funny, what I considered grating noise and shouty with Mudhoney did not apply to this. Enjoyed this! It may have helped that I was driving at the time so it made the drive more fun.
Brought back great memories of my childhood in the 90s. Some absolute bangers on this album!
This was much better than I expected. I always had an (apparently incorrect) opinion on Kanye and his music. Most likely due to his “antics”. But, I knew Jesus Walks slapped and it turns out a lot of this album does too! Still not overly keen on the skits but the beats and rhymes were decent. 3.5/5
Don’t mind Lou Reed but nothing to write home about.
Decent sound. I’m torn by foreign language music. Is it better to understand the lyrics to appreciate what is being said or just to appreciate the sound? I’ve certainly fallen into both categories and on this occasion it worked well enough.
Very enjoyable and easy to listen to. Moondance was very recognisable…didn’t realise it was VM.
Like his other album. Nothing much to write home about but nothing offensive either.
Listened while riding bike so may not have got the full effect. But aside from the title track there seemed to be a lot of weird instrumental sound that didn’t do much for me.
At times I thought I was at the “Enchantment Under the Sea” dance. Decent enough to listen to
Obviously a couple of bangers on this but the rest was only so so. 3.5
Again, felt like I was in a bookstore or coffee house…but every now and again it went a little crazy!
Brings back memories. There are some undeniable belters on this album but it does lose its way a little in the middle which stops it from being a 5
Didn’t even remember listening to his father’s album but I gave it 3 stars and said it had some enjoyable back ground funk. I’d say the same for this.
Good sound at times but nothing stood out
Don’t mind Elvis but nothing really jumped off the page for me except for In The Ghetto. But that just reminded me of Eric Cartland’s version from South Park. I did listen to Suspicious Minds because it’s great but doesn’t count to the score.
Nothing really here of note
Some good beats and what not. West coast rap is definitely more enjoyable.
Everyday People is solid. Everything else was just OK
Decent but nothing to right home about.
This was enjoyable and more in line with my taste. I hadn’t listened to much Black Crowes so it was good to expand beyond Hard to Handle.
This didn’t do much for me. Not sure if I need to give it another listen but was happy when it was on over
Instant 5/5 for me. This album is so good! Brings back great memories and the songs are mostly all absolute bangers.
Solid album. Good tunes. More than a feeling is obviously an amazing way to kick things off.
The slow pace songs were a welcome respite from the heavier stuff. Decent.
Enjoyable. Some solid tunes. 3.5/5 rounded up.
Funky at times. Papa was a rolling stone is solid. 3.5 rounded down
Nice easy listening with some familiar songs.
This album is so so good! Brought back memories of grad school (I know, I’m old). But, beyond that, it’s just a solid album. Is there even a bad song on it? Hit a whole new level when I saw Billy Joel on Howard Stern talk about WMUWSE being about his dad dying!
The Bowie I know and love. Not that Heroes malarkey! Solid tunes with a few absolute bangers! 4.5/5 rounded down.
Found myself bobbing along to a lot of this. 3.5 rounded down
Ok at times but the length was a real struggle for me. 2.5 rounded down
Enjoyable with a couple of stand out tracks. 4.5 rounded down
Interesting sound, that’s for sure. Had a bit of a Kendrick Lamar feel to it which makes sense now that I read up on him. He was also the bassist for Suicidal Tendencies 🤷🏼♂️ Don’t think I would listen again but kept me interested
This album had a little bit of everything. Certainly more inline with my tastes
Some ok parts but nothing to write home about.
Some solid late 80s rap. Good beats. 3.5 rounded down
Not a huge Neil Young fan. This is ok. Easy listening but doesn’t do much for me. Cinnamon Girl is a good start but it fades pretty quick
Solid album. The first and last songs are absolute bangers and everything in between ain’t to bad either. 4.5 rounded down
A solid 4. Some enjoyable songs on there with typical Beatles sound and not as trippy as others.
Easy sound and not hard to get through. Nothing really stood out beyond the first song.
Couple of stand out songs and a decent sound but nothing phenomenal
Couple of good songs. But that was about it.
Nothing like some early 80s UK heavy metal to get you going. Certainly helped I was biking…gave me a boost! Run to the Hills is epic!!!
This didn’t do much for me. Nothing stood out. Now, it may have been because of a head wind and hills but I don’t think so.
Two or three songs of note but a lot of the same sound throughout. Blister in the Sun is obviously a classic and reminds me of “Two Guys, A Girl, and A Pizza Place”.
Fractured listen due to bike ride and needing to listen on YouTube. Nothing super memorable but nothing terrible either
Some solid songs and fairly enjoyable
Didn’t get much out of this. Seemed like a lot of noise.
Don’t think I’ve ever listened to this the whole way through. Not my favourite queen album. There was a few weird songs on their. But, BohRhap is such an absolute masterpiece of music it bumps this to a 4.
This just seemed like a lot of noise at times. Not sure if it was because it was a live album or not but struggled with it.
Only learned of Leonard Cohen after being in Canada for some time. I get that he is respected and considered great but this didn’t really do a whole lot for me.
Nice to not have (if I recall) a lot of skits on this. Some good sound but nothing that jumped out to me.
Aside from a few bangers (incidentally not on this album), Pulp was never my favourite band of the Brit Pop era. This was ok to listen to but I can’t see my self going back bar 1 or 2 songs.
Parts of this were enjoyable. I was out digging a trench while listening and it felt like the last song went on for a while. I just checked and it was 12 minutes! 3.5 rounded down
Pretty good. Easy listening old school country
So good rapping but skits interfered
Couldn’t quite figure this one out. Not terrible but seemed all over the place.
Enjoyable. Somewhat up my alley
That was very enjoyable and some absolutely brilliant songs. 4.5
There are some straight killer songs on this album and the guitar is so so good! Not enough for a 5 but a definite 4.5
La Grange is solid but everything else was fairly vanilla.
American Girl is solid but nothing else jumped out at me. Not terrible though
Couple of top bangers but not enough to pull the rest up. 3.5/5
James Bond sample caught my ear but everything else was just background
112 albums in and we’re onto our third Kanye album! Couple of solid bangers on here but the rest just blended in. 3.5/5
Some classic industrial rock from the 1970s. Shadowplay is great! Fun fact, my brother saw them live last week and they played this album in full! Not enough for a 4. 3.5 rounded
This is such a good album. Found myself bouncing to most of the beats. A couple of songs midway through lose their way a bit which prevents this from being a 5 but goddamn it’s good. 4.5/5
Golden Years is stella but the rest didn’t do much for me. M
Decent old school alternative
Solid. Didn’t realise Golden Slumbers was the Beatles.
I’ve never heard of this group but I did enjoy it. My kind of sound.
Some good tunes. Tonight, Tonight, and 1979 are obvious bangers. Seemed a bit too long though…
Some absolute bangers on this. Brought me right back to high school. 4.5 rounded down
Enjoyable while painting! Psycho killer is banging!
Starts off with a bang. BotR and Jet are both superb. Fizzles out from there but is still solid.
Easy to listen to. Definitely some blending but still very pleasant. Good for background on a cool autumnal day with a fire and a stew.
Enjoyable! Some good beats!
There’s some good songs on there but not enough to write home about.
Decent 70s punk sound.
Enjoyable! Have always liked their cover of Mrs. Robinson.
Some good sound and decent songs at times.
This was very pleasant. Having not reviewed the track listings there were a couple of times I thought she was going to break into Big Yellow Taxi. Also, there were a few instances were I detected some politicising in the lyrics but because it was so pleasant you almost don’t even realise!
Quite enjoyable
Fun and good rhythm!
Some good sound. Started to drag near the end.
Peace Sells and I’m definitely buying!
Very weird. The whole talking bits were interesting. Not my jam though
Frontier Psychiatrist is awesome. Loved this when I was younger. But a full album of similar is a bit much.
Enjoyable Bruce. Don’t think I’ve ever really listened to him aside from the occasional hit so it was good to hear a full album.
I didn’t grow up with Leonard and although it’s OK, I don’t think it has the same effect on me as others.
Definitely enjoyable and a nice change of pace from Cohen
Decent sound and some catchy/easy listening songs.
Decent. Reminded me a lot of the chill Faithless sound
Don’t think I’ve ever listened to this all the way through but this shit slaps!
There’s some really good content on this but it loses its edge with some of the lesser known songs.
You could certainly tell this has influenced others. Not terrible but probably won’t listen again.
Some solid Brit pop!!! Supergrass was never top of list but this was very enjoyable
Enjoyable. Dreamer is a banger!
More Brit Pop!!! Not as good as Urban Hymns but still a good sound
Not quite Bends and OK computer level but still solid
Freedom is music at its finest. Not enough to bump this beyond a 3 though.
Man, there were some “Block Rockin’ Beats” on this! (See what I did there?!)
Didn’t recognise the group but definitely recognised some songs. Poison Arrow slaps!
Class…just absolute class.
Block Rockin Beats and Setting Sun are just outstanding!
Cars is an absolute banger! Cool sound on this album but not enough to bump it over a 3
Decent sound but nothing that jumped out to me
Some absolute bangers on this. Never listened all the way through but the ones I did know didn’t disappoint
Born to run is a banger but I felt there was a whole lot of the same otherwise.
Couple of top bangers on this but not enough to push it to a 4
Couple of top tunes on this. Not enough to push to a 5 though
Man, this album starts off with a bang but fizzles a little.
Epic is….epic!
Slappa da bass!
I remember when I first heard Clint Eastwood and it blew me away! Definitely the highlight of the album but the rest is solid too. This is a tough one for me. It has enough to be a 4.5 for sure but was torn if I could round it up.
Some solid songs on this! There are a few that let it down otherwise could’ve been back2back 5*
I’ve never understood why people like Kate Bush. I mean, “running up the hill” is solid, made all the better by Stranger Things but this was not good.
Couple of absolute bangers brought the rest of the album up.
Couple of solid tracks but didn’t blow me away. Obviously don’t have the nostalgia that this album (or band) brings. The good is good enough for a 4.
Not terrible. A little “Leonard Coheny”
Couple of tracks that brought back some fleeting memories of ungergrad (a lot of my flat mates in the dorms enjoyed Roni Size) but over 2 hours of this was unnecessary
Waterfalls is a banger. Nothing else really grasped me though.
