Gives me some Macklemore vibes

Great album

This album is a contender for the greatest hip hop album of all time, and is easily one of the best albums period. Wu Tang Clan grapple with social issues and who they’re trying to be for themselves and the future throughout this album. Their vision is something greater than what they see around them, and this album provides a glimpse into the early thoughts of the greatest rap collective. The music defines east coast rap, and the dynamic flows and free associated lyrics are now hallmarks of hip hop. You simply can’t listen to hip hop today without hearing Wu Tang’s influence.

Wu-Tang forever.

Classic old school hip hop. Indicative of the time it was released. Important in musical history.

It's Wu. There is nothing I can can add to what has already been written. Wu-Tang is for the children.

This would be my nomination for greatest hip hop album of all time. The one I can always come back to and it still hits me just as hard as it did the first time I listened to it as a teenager. The group dynamics are simply jaw dropping with so many distinct personalities and vocal styles. Despite the rough demeanor, there is a melodic sense that underlies the wordplay. Sometimes the phrasing is just as memorable as the lyrics themselves. And RZA's beats are, to me, THE definitive hip hop sound. He broke away from the cliches to dig deep and create something truly atmospheric and cinematic. Everything flows together perfectly. The album has such a powerful momentum you actually need the skits just so you can catch your breath. I feel like you really get to know them by the end of the album despite the layers of mystique they build around themselves. The Kung Fu movie samples were the icing on the cake for me, especially back then as a teen who was just starting to get high and rent obscure martial arts movies from the video store myself.

One of the greatest to every do it. I've listen to this before, and was excited to listen to it again. Wu-Tang is for the children.

Wu tang again? Yes again and again!

Just hits from start to finish. Incredible samples, lyrics and just everything

basically everything i want in a rap album its just so good

A classic, grimey hip hop album that changed my perspective on hip hop. I've listened to this album hundreds of times. Five stars easy.

yeah I’d say Wu-Tang is probably in my top three favorite old school hip hop collectives (#1 is definitely A Tribe Called Quest, and I would say #2 is Fugees) 10/10 album, everyone kills it

Perfect

Wu-Tang! Wu-Tang!

This. Changed. Everything. Personally, I was a couple of years late to the party. Living in pre-internet suburban western Canada with no other friends who were really into hip-hop meant I wasn't yet ahead of the curve. I'd seen their name around a bit but it was a track on The Jerky Boys soundtrack that served as my introduction to the Clan. As a result of that song I already had Ol' Dirty Bastard's solo album by the time I finally copped a copy of Enter the Wu-Tang in the summer of '95. I loved the wild-out weirdness of ODB, but the clan united was a goddamn force! Nuthing ta f wit, indeed. The lo-fi dark grimy beats were a far cry from the g-funk sound that otherwise dominated my hip-hop CDs at the time. So tasty. And the full Clan spitting unstoppable, untoppable bars over top was just over the top. I don't remember listening to anything else for the first week or two I had this. I just kept playin' it, and playin' it, and playin' it, and playin' it... Absorbing all the voices, figuring out who was who and how their flows all came together so damn well. Hell, the first couple of times I ever went on the internet shortly after copping this, I spent most of my time digging deeper into the Wu and marvelling at their industry takeover that allowed for each solo member to sign with a different label than the group itself, spreading their fingers through most of the major label hip-pie. Now, nearly three decades later, knowing the album backward and forward, skits and all, and having deciphered nearly all of the samples, this still stands as an absolute beast of an album. The hunger of the Clan in its youth is still palpable, and very few debuts since can hold a candle to this. Let your feet stomp.

Not only Wu's best album, but easily in the top-three hip-hop albums of all time. 5/5.

A groundbreaking, innovative, absolute landmark of a record.

FLAWLESS VICTORY. This is a six star record for me along with In Utero, Hunky Dory, and Closer.

A landmark debut that revitalized the New York Hip Hop scene. Noise combined with funk and those piano loops. An impeccable line up of top notch emcees all with kung fu movie samples!

If I liked rap, this would be the number one album in my collection. As it stands, it's still an impressive debut album and homage to old 'chopsocky' martial arts films.

All time great album. Not a bad song here! One of my favorite albums in the world when I was 15 years old is still one of my favorite albums in my 40s...

ALL THE STARS.

Ain’t nothing to fuck with

Amazing. Classic. Rambunctious and agressive and hard af.

A Stone Cold Classic! Trend-setting, genre-defining, and historical. The production seems muddled but accurately reflects the atmosphere of the world in which it was recorded.

One of the best Hip Hop Albums there is

Absolute classic. Top 3 Hip Hop albums all time. Had this CD stolen from me twice during high school, it's that good.

At 9 songs and 36 min. Rappenin IS what's happenin "ODB." This was great, I love their mix of sampling kung fu movies and old tracks you wouldn't expect.

Yeah! I just love this record.

This is my favorite 90s rap album. Very vibrant personality

roguh wahdurds voisi ottaa mallia... näin tehdään KONSEPTI... ei tarvi tehdä paskoja piisejä että tulee seleväksi... vähän liikaa puhumista..sketsejä..hassutusta, mutta haittaa minimaalisesti kun tulee isoja pum pum biittejä ja pääasiassa hyvää lyrisisismiä. JA OSAA.. PYSTYY KUUNNELLA SANOJA HEH.. KUN EI TOTA EI PUHU EI MUMISE! EI MUMISE HEH... vitun hyvä... im gonna saw your asshole shut and keep feedin you... and feeding you... and feeding you.. im gonna hang you by your dick... Offensive and puerile, but more importantly, as music it's just repetitive, uninventive and devoid of melody. Basically it's just words over rythym. Rap doesn't belong on this list, it isn' music. hyvä take tolta, musiikin ystävä! da mystery of chessboxing... vittu jos kirjottaa the sanan da.. tietää et nyt mennään

Cream undeniable

I fuck with Wu-Tang

I’ve already listened. One point for me

Absolute classic album. Breakthrough for hiphop

Enter the wu-tang? More like enter the villain!

A mission statement and a half, this bursts with so much energy and personality. The skits actually add so much to the album, each member of the group shines and brings something different to the record, and there's just a lot of bangers with immaculate production throughout. Not my favourite Wu-Tang project (Liquid Swords and Fishscale do it more for me) but one of the most vital records of all time tbh

Klassikko, ajaton, wu-tang style!

Classic

An all time classic. WTC ain’t nothin to fuck wit

My favorite hip hop album I’ve gotten from this list so far. I’m going to have to go back and listen to the extended version

Kickass collection of east coast bangers

2nd best rap album of all time

Amazing start to finish.

Profane, hilarious, imaginative, sharp. I can see why this was such a big deal when it came out.

I have nothing to say about this that hasn't been said. Lightning in a bottle situation with some of the most talented MC's ever.

Amazing. This really is an album that everyone should hear at least once. 5/5

One of the greatest. Find something new I love about this album every time I return to it.

Wu-Tang is forever. It is a nice change of peace. It is raw, angry and great. The intermission interview didn't need to be included but still a great album.

Bring the Ruckus

This isn't the first time that I have listened to this album, but I am rather new to it. I very much appreciate what it brings!

This album is gangster rap personified. So many skilled verses, catchy hooks, and in-your-face choruses. C.R.E.A.M. is the anthem.

Classic, me enjoy

The impact of The Wu and this album is hard to understate. Superb.

wu tang clan - enter the wu tang (36 chambers) (1993) notes - ghostface bbng album is a 5/5 - this album started and i couldnt help but smile bc it sounds like theyre having a great time - the fun is balanced out with some more emotional tracks - the use of samples is absolutely fantastic - Hear a bit of public enemy influence fav song: - bring da ruckus - super fun and creative opening track that gives you a glimpse into each of the members styles and personalities least fav: - clan in da front - cool verses and vibe but it wasnt as hype as the previous songs 5/5!!!

Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nothing To Fuck With.

Rating: 10/10

One of my favorite classic rap albums, energy is incredible

Hell yes

Super cool. Idk why I'm in between a 4/5 star. I wish it gave half options like a 10-point system. I'll give it a 5 though because I can't think of a reason. Fucking dope shit, all I got to say. Some of the recordings seem echo-like, like in a big room but they really set the precedence for a lot of future artists and I respect the themes that are repeated throughout the album. Catchy ass beats.

Loads of fun.

This is the rap equivalent of the power rangers assembling megazord

Yes yes yes

I've never liked an album so instantly. How have I never listened to Wu-Tang before!?!? Amazing. Shame about the censorship on the spotify version though...

I used to hate this when I was a teenager, but that was just because I was a stupid metalhead that was too stubborn to give it a real chance. This slaps, of course, and this was pretty much my real introduction to hip hop. I think it holds perfectly well to this day, a timeless classic.

The cringy intermissions in rap albums is what kills it for me, but still, this shit is just an incredible timeless masterpiece.

Legendaarinen uhon, räpin ja beattien osalta! 5/5

Easiest 5 of all time, was beginning to be concerned this wouldn't be on the list when it's easily one of the top 10, let alone top 1001 albums of all time. Might be slightly biased as this introduced me to real hip hop in the 90s but the power, energy, differing styles and personalities shining through mean this is truly unique at the time and still now.

Ooooh yeah. Not lyrically groundbreaking, but the atmosphere they create is unrivalled.

Classic. Love this album.

one of the best albums i have ever listened to.

Just goated

W 9.8/10

p good i guess

Classic rap album, already listened to before hand

Banger of the genre.

Top 5 Hip-Hop album of all time. Great beats from RZA, iconic bars from the Wu. 10/10

How was Shame On A N***a ever given a radio friendly version? The sampling on this record is awesome. The way they break this up with different long form interviews and samples, this is more than an album. It's a manifesto. Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthing ta Fuck Wit is the start of and a high point in the entire gangsta rap genre. Its also an incredibly DARK album, especially on the break right before M.E.T.H.O.D. Man.

A classic of the genre. The world's introduction to the some amazing talents who would go on to make solo albums that are just as great.

I forgot just how good this album is. An incredible entry from a legendary group.

Arguably the greatest hip-hop album ever recorded.

Great classic Hip Hop with no mumble :-)

Great!

Bangers

Cause yall dont want sauce no A1!

Even people who don't like Rap and Hip-hop love this record. That should tell you everything you need to know about it

Maybe the greatest hip hop album ever. 36/10

So many good tracks on this one!

Absolute titan of the genre. Stone cold classic.

Had not listened to Wu-Tang Clan before, really liked it! Could have done without the coughs at the end of Method Man. I now appreciate who Method Man plays in The Wire even more

Bloody fantastic. Rap with a message. And you can’t help but feel cool cruising around town with it cranked up on the speakers. Fave tracks: “C.R.E.A.M.” “Shame On A N——a” “Protect Ya Neck”

Possibly the greatest hip hop album of all time. Still holds up for hip hop heads

Amazing Debut album. Hip hop at its best.

Perfect album. So many incredible beats. Iconic

CREAM is a masterpiece. GOAT hip hop beats throughout the album.

Genial.

Wu-tang Clan ain't nothin to fuck with

Lots of great tracks, incredible energy

Without a doubt one of the greatest hip-hop records ever made. I've heard this many times and it never gets old. I don't even know what else to say, honestly.

Classic, so many hits, also with the ft names, probably the longest song names in spotify.

Wu-Tang again? AWWW YEAH AGAIN AND AGAIN

What more to say than legendary?

Have heard before - big good. Need to get more into it tho.

Timeless; sounds as fresh as the first time I heard it back in grade school.

6th September 2021 Listened on my phone before going out to meet Neil for dim sum in soho. Some of the finest 90s rap and hip hop.

Goes hard

Great beats and cold lyrics. You have to be in a certain mood to listen to this and there is a significant amount of filler between tracks but it's still great. 9

Never gets old

Timeless gem. Cash Rules Everything Around Me...

It's 36 chambers. It's a masterpiece front to back. Great way to start the day.

A one of a kind hip-hop group & a one of a kind album. This album features some of the groups best know songs & we're all better of for this album's existence.

Classic.

subliminal

Superb, a real classic. Absolutely love it.

Yeeeeeeeep

The masterpiece, not a bad song, and a great introduction to a great band #wutang4ever

Wu-Tang Clan, what can I say? 5 stars across the boards for this one

Hell yeah! This album has so many good songs. Perfect for listening to in your car a little too loud, and drowning out the rest of the world. The only draw back is that the songs themselves are interspersed with interviews, and then it sometimes goes back to the song. I got confused a couple of times about which song I was actually listening to 🙃

Electric energy. Didn't love the whole album, but damn, some of those tracks got me amped.

Absolutely legendary album. RZA legendary production. 10/10

About bloody time! A great album that paved the way for so many hip hop acts that followed.

Probably my favourite rap album of all time

Great beats!

top 5 greatest hip hop albums of all time. a classic

love it

I was big into Wu during college. Haven't listened much in the last 10 years, but this record is still a banger.

Awesome.

WuTang forever

Love love love love.

A hip-hop MASTERPIECE.

🔥🔥🔥🔥

Legend

I mean it's fuckin' Wu-Tang. Rap don't get better just listen to it. I've was actually Listening to this album like a week ago so yeah I fuck with it. Five stars bitch.

Genre defining and still fresh today 30 years later. Awesome.

Love it, Wu-Tang is always nice

ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS EVER

Awesome!

Brooklyn zoo !

Stone cold classic. WU TANG CLAN AIN'T NUTTIN TO FUCK WIT

I'll admit it- I'd never listened to this before. My god. It's rap perfection.

Brilliant! I don't even consider myself a hip-hop fan, but this album slaps. 'Method Man', 'C.R.E.A.M.', 'Wu-Tang Clain Ain't Nuthin Ta F' Wit' are my favourite tracks, but there isn't a bad one on this album.

Loved it. First time listening all the way through. Lot of hits on that record

Wu-Tang forever.

Connor: Few other hip-hop albums come close to this.

Phenomenal. Wu-Tang comes swinging right out the gate with gritty lyrics and a dirty, almost lofi, sound. A classic.

Classic

Old school rap, DA BEST

Great album. They were never better!

Some of these beats are just amazing. They have an almost jazzy feel sometimes, and I love the piano lines throughout them. Definitely unique, and overall a very cool album. The delivery is quite aggressive, but the flow was awesome. The thing holding this back for me is the length, and I thought some of the skits/spoken intros and outros didn't help the flow and sometimes could be annoying. Favourite songs: Bring da Ruckus, C.R.E.A.M., Wu-Tang: 7th Chamber (both parts I and II)

8/10. I'm not a hip hop fan. However, this album is so legendary!!! :)

Presidents are temporary… Yeah. This one hasn’t aged as well as I would have hoped. The samples are actually stronger than the flows, often. I remember a friend of mine repeating “tiger style” far too often thanks to this album. CREAM and the ending tracks are stronger than the beginning. Maybe far stronger. It ends up. So I am still going 4. But man, it undeniably has a lot of weaknesses. 4 Boolean: true, ultimately can’t beat Wu-Tang style

An obvious classic of the genre and you can still here why. Clear away all the skits and the violence and you are still left with an album bursting with ideas. Each member makes an impact in their own way and it sounds like a supergroup album if already established stars. Beats are heavy, the hooks are sharp and the production is excellent.

More old school rap… Love it

I really like the beats in this album cuz they are really simple but still catchy. In generall i would not listen to the songs on a daylie basis, that is becauese i dont really like the hiphop genre that much. i feel like i am more of a chorus pre chorus bridge kinde person because "I like repetionion". Having said that i do like the album eventhough it is hip hop. it sounds really nostalgic and cool. i dodnt listen to all the lyrics but the parts i did listen to were pretty creative and that is good because that is kinda the point of hiphop i feel like. So all together eventhough i like the album i cant really resonate much with it cuz its not my time not my people and not my problems but i really like the beats . Btw method man was my fav on this. Also i love what they did with the random comic skits they put in. really reminds me of MF Doom kinda.

lit first album ! jawsome!

This one is an oldie for me, but it's a goodie. I love how aggressive all of the MCs are. They desperately need you to understand how important their message is, how serious they are. They are LOUD. This is in start contrast to the beats, which are really laid back and have a quiet production that stands opposed to the mainstream success of gangster rap that was omnipresent at the time. It makes for a really interesting juxtaposition of styles that makes for a unique listen. The martial arts clips and skits work well together, adding a cool layer to an already gritty sound. The one thing I would say is it could stand to be trimmed a little bit, as the album starts to wear out its welcome as it rolls to the end. Still, I think it belongs on this list. This is essential listening.

I have a soft spot for 90s shite and this is also incredibly influential so

I accidentally listened to the clean version of the album. That made me realise how they normalised swearing, cause my god. But I really enjoyed my time listening to it. Would replay.

I admit that I didn't get to spend a lot of time listening to the lyrics in depth -- but I love the feel of this album. It does kinda sound like everyone's just come together in an apartment. The communal spirit is really fun and I like hearing everyone's different feeling/flow. Want to spend more time with the words themselves.

A classic

It's been a week already since Game 4! Thank you to the Wu-Tang Clan for your pivotal halftime show. This album was terrific—life is terrific. Staten Island is New York, too!

Just a classic

7.9/10 Nice ryhming Nm

not what i'd usually go for, but otherwise great!

Eu me senti iliterata porque nunca tinha ouvido wu-tang can (já ouvi falar, sabia que existia mas nunca tinha ativamente ouvido) até esse álbum... ai vale um bom 4/5

This is oretrybgoood ngl

Pretty good

A little silly, but this is just too much fun Favorite Songs: Da Mystery of Chessboxin', Tearz

It's like watching a martial arts movie with the volume turned way up. Spins: 2 Playlist Additions - Bring da Ruckus - Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthing ta F' Wit - C.R.E.A.M. - Protect Ya Neck

So much fun, as always. 4.5 rounded down to 4.

Lyrics were awful

never heard of them and I barely listen to rap or hip-hop and I honestly vibed so hard they slay

Too long, but many bars and the sound is interested in his rawness. I just prefer a bit of variety, especially in a longer album I kinda need range. That doesn't mean it's not their sound, and full of ambition

Classic

One of if not THE classic hip hop albums

genuinely so peak ngl. proves that the 90s were the best decade for music

I am one of those that enjoys certain Wu solo projects over the whole crew together, but there is no denying how important this record is. As a mission statement, this does exactly what it's meant to and plays heavily into their musical and entertainment inspirations. This was the 90's, so there is a bit more spoken word "skits" than I'd really like (though some will say the storytelling there is just as important as what's in the actual music). Also not al Wu members are created equal, but that's to be expected. All in all this is a pillar of 90's hip hop which launched the careers of many talented individuals. Throw those W's up.

A bona-fide hip hop classic. Probably one of my favourites from this era?

A classic album showcasing their emerging talent. Great performance on this record all around.

Classic album. Enjoy the beats, new more songs then I thought

So many classics, such little time! Great character and variety across each member of the clan, loads of humour, inventive production and a serious concentration of bangers

Such a complete album

one of my favorite albums of all time

Used to lieten to back in the day, def has a place on top in this genre.

I've tried with this one before, but today was the first time I actually got it. the scope alone is impressive.

Exactly what I was expecting, in a good way. Great rhymes.

Bring Da Ruckus 3/5: songs tough af not the biggest fan of the beat Shame on a N 4/5: banger can in da front 3/5: intro lil long wu tang 7th member 5/5: fucking banger drums are so good can it be all so simple 3/5 chess boxin: 5/5: banger wu tang notin to fw 3/5: cool just beat bit lofi cream 5/5: iconic method man 5/5: also iconic protect ya neck 5/5: also also iconic tearz: 3/5

Great, dirty oldschool rap

Legendary album with production that does sound a bit too dated to make this a 5 star album.

Wie ein GTA lade Screen

Good shit

Sometimes things are popular only because they’re influential, this is not one of those times. 4.5/5

Wu Tang Clan ain’t nothing to fuck with.

It's for the children.

Absolute classic, but the skits are lame

Hmm interesting

Rating:★★★★ Masterful example of rhyme, flow, and lyricism. The way they make these words tie together is astounding. Some of the lyrics make me think "why??", but those examples are few and far between. This is a great album, and you can really hear how this album inspired the future of hip hop and rap.

Some fun samples and great beats. I wasn’t totally into all of the lyrical content but I’ve never listened to this album in full before. Some great songs on here that stand out on their own though. I wouldn’t regularly listen to this, but the songs I did like I added them to my daily rotation. You can for sure see the influence on hip-hop now from this album which is really cool to me. I do miss when groups had skits within their albums, it’s entertaining but I know it’s not for everybody lol. 4.5 stars from me

Consider the ruckus well and truly brought. An album to cross your arms and nod your head to.

Some tunes on here. genuinely think interludes are rhe best part Needs 2nd listen to appreciate lyrics Think Shao Lin version of Protect Ya Neck is great

It’s great even though it feels a little vintage. Which is fair considering it’s been more than 30 years since the release. But it does sound stylish still and had a lot of character in it. I added some tracks to my playlist, quite a few to be honest. And yeah, had a lot of fun listening to the album.

Some good shit right there

There is no denying that this album is epic. I was more into the Souls of Mischief in 93 because I never really dug the Wu's violent lyrics. They were just a little over the top for my taste. This album does have some of the most icon bars ever recorded and the beats are unique and oddly catchy. It's cool to hear so many different styles of MCing on one record but if you ask me, Method Man is the king. Killer album.

As a hip hop philistine, there is this element in 90’s hip hop that I could never get passed. The songs (thinking a lot about snoop here) sounded dry like the desert, I found it monotonous and boring. This is not that! It’s fun! Interesting to listen to. I’m a lil late on this masterpiece, yeah? lol

Feeling generous today. I don't know how relevant Wu-Tang is in 2026 but it still sounds fresh to me. I prefer rap like this to stuff with a lot of shine.

La última canción a capella? Savage.

Beats clearly influenced and built modern rap. Despite being new to me, sound was familiar. Egregiously violent but that’s the point and perspective.

I have entered the wu-tang wu-tang clan i am in you

A watershed album. These guys were crazy and all over the place at the time. Definitely worth a listen.

This is a great album.

First hip hop album i've gotten on here and it's a classic. Clearly a very influential album with some amazing tracks but by modern standards it sometimes feels a little corny, still very good though

I'm not a huge fan of rap and hip hop. However I really enjoy this.

it was okay

i'm starting to feel incapable of rating these albums anything but 4 stars

Quentin Tarantino: The Album

Lots of favourites here.

Good stuff :-)

Hypnotic flow, creepy beats and very funny

Waffling between 3.5/4.0… great flow

WTC AINT NUTHING TA F WITH!!!!!! Trailblazing and an excellent listen. If an album transforms your mood, whilst combining great samples, fresh lyrics, and keeping it varied and FUN, well sir I call that a job well done.

fav: method man

a cornerstone of modern hip-hop! it’s so sick RZA was just pumping out gold like this for half a decade. the skits are mostly funny on this, but a bit distracting overall. RIP ODB

Album 31/1001. Listened 4/24/2026. This is a great album for just rage-doing whatever it is you need to do that you do not want to do. These guys are (justifiably) angry.

Origin of this kind of rap. Organic, real, easy to listen

i really liked this.

Heard it before. Good to revisit though. Ol Dirty Bastard is still my favorite flow. 4/5

WU-TANG! WU-TANG!

a classic right here. not one i've ever listened to in full, but one that i've heard the various singles off it enough that i knew i'd probably enjoy the whole thing. the album is really ahead of its time and innovative with its sampling especially which let's be real you already knew. the real problem is just that this is SO 90s. i really enjoy the general flow, but god damn sometimes the lyrics are just so goofy. completely different time and place. the fact that it all manages to hold up as well as it does is a testament to the artistry and skill.

This is a very 90s rap album, for better and worse. The skits on here... Certainly exist. I definitely don't think they improve the album. On the otherhand the rapping itself is great. I think nothing shows this better then "Method man", which starts with a real eye-roller of a skit imo, but then transitions into one HELL of a rap when it gets going. There's some great sampling work here too. CREAM was the pinnacle of this album for me, showing off both the great flow of the album and legendary use of sampling. I think for some people 90s rap hasn't aged well, and I get that. There's some rhymes in here that, whilst I like, you would not get away with today without being laughed out of the room. "Patty cake, patty cake, hey, the method man Don't eat Skippy, Jif or Peter Pan Peanut butter 'cause I'm not butter In fact, I snap back like a rubber band I be Sam, Sam-I-Am And I don't eat green eggs and ham" But if you can get over that, there's still a lot to like here and I definitely get the acclaim.

Muy chulo!!!!! Me encanto

oh i havent actually listened to this yet. i’ve heard good things. forgot to take notes while listening, i was playing pokemon emerald. i liked it though.

Old school - vreau să-l ascult integral

damn lost my listening notes. it's a good vibe, i think 90s hip hop is more my speed than 90s grunge, but still not like my favorite. the beat is good, easy to groove to. probably wouldn't listen to the album thru again, but wouldn't mind hearing their songs now & then. upper 3s/5 rounded to 4/5.

Best of the genre so far. Ol' Dirty Bastard is hilarious and I can't tell if that's intentional or not, so +1 to you, sir. I would actually listen to this album for enjoyment ... except for all the racial slurs. I don't want that kind of language just casually taking up residence in my vocabulary. Over exposure tends to normalize things and slurs should not be normalized. So, sadly, this can't stay on my iPod. Made for an enjoyable listen for a few days though.

classic always a mood

I actually quite enjoyed this. I loved the beats that were laid down. I suspect it is one of those pieces where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. I get why it was so influential and can hear the debt that other artists owe the Clan.

amazing hip hop that can lift ur mood up, ur working time sound more focus :-)

Liked it

Classic album with a string of great songs. Great balance of hardcore hip hop and humour.

Love forever

dolla dolla bill y'all

good rap album

Their lyrics are a little strange at times. Rhyming diarrhea with gonorrhea is crazy work. Also "bouncing on old MEN" is crazy too. I think I heard "butt plugs" and "busting a clit" which are also very interesting. I like the back tracks for all the songs though they're very unique and nice. I liked the first song the best or "protect ya neck"

Canciones que conocia: variass, un album clave de infancia CREAM, method man, wtc ain none to fuck wit, protect ya neck. Canciones para playlist: 4/9 Cancion que me gusto: Shame on a nuh DISCAZO

I enjoyed this debut album listen from the Wu-Tang Clan! I believe this was my first time listening to an album by them all the way through. I liked the hip hop vibes of this album and the large use of sampling of various audio snippets, which made the songs more intriguing. Overall, I had a good time listening to this album! It made for a great album to listen to while I was working out and it would be one that I would return to in the future!

Lightning in a bottle this one.

The rhymes are pleasing to the ear. Even though it is released in the 90s, that sounds quite new to me

This would be a 5 for overall impact on music, but a 4 for me in terms of enjoyment. Some great moments but also some songs that are tedious, and skits aren’t for me.

pretty chill what I would call oldschool hiphop as a hiphop noob Flow parts are nice, all the talking is pretty annoying. also kinda funny "all kinds of fucking blood coming out of him" Song at 26:00 is insane

Really good album. Couple more listens and could easily turn into a 5

You know what, I think I'm starting to get the appeal of rap music. The delivery of the lyrics and the bits of ear candy started to fill in those blanks for me. There's not a whole lot of processing on the vocals, so for them to be exciting on their own is a testament to the artist's ability. Honestly, I had a good time listening, except for one section where two guys were going back and forth talking about extreme acts of violence. Other than that, great album!

Old school stuff. Clan In Da Front was cool, some nice vocals on Can It Be All So Simple. Gotta go with CREAM, but a cool album. 3.75/5

Awesome album that gets better the further you go into it. Not sure there’s a single bad song on here, and a pretty accessible rap album too

Another classic pull on a Monday! Of all the 90s hip hop albums I've heard so far, this might be my favorite. It might be because of the different members taking turns on the tracks creates variety compared to an album with one person. It might be the contrast between the aggressive deliveries and the laid back beats. Whatever it is, I dig it. Not all of the tracks hit in the same way as some of the bigger hits and I think that is the reason I am not giving it a 5. But it doesn't take away from the fact that this is a classic if there ever was one. 4/5

This is awesome! Protect ya neck!

A 90’s hip hop classic, re listening as a middle aged man I wish they would remove the skits and intros and just get on with the music and the glamorisation of the gangsta life comes off a little childish but you can’t argue with the tracks. Would have been a 5 in my teens now it’s 4

Great 1st album on the generator. Certainly a top 10 90s hip hop album of the 90s I've heard

I've always preferred east coast rap to west. All of my favorite 90s rap is west coast, and a lot of modern rap I love came up out of the east. But I think, of the big 3 east coast albums that came out around this time, this is probably my least favorite. It's not a bad album by any means, it just doesn't hold a candle to Illmatic or Ready to Die. Still great though. Favorites: C.R.E.A.M., Protect Ya Neck, Tearz

Its a classic for a reason.

Enjoyed most of this, even though I think Wu Tang Clan are the most overrated rap group ever.

Favorite songs Tearz/Protect Ya Neck
