Every minute felt like an hour.
not on spotify u bum
Wow, what a drag. Felt extremely pretentious. Can't remember a single song to be honest. Maybe it's a bit harsh, but I just can't find anything positive with this really, will be forgotten in an instant.
Didnt enjoy this
Couldn't get through this. Hard pass.
This is a tough listen. "Singing" out of sync. So alternative that it's cool to like.
Not sure this is music!

snorlax is a really active pokemon in comparison. chesus christ what a bore
Wasn't on Spotify.
I just find this wallowing unlistenable. It’s the first album I cannot make it through. And I like stripped down songwriter focused music but this feels humorless and flat.
Seriously..you think this is an album I should hear before I die? I’ll tell thought I was dead and buried after listening to this absolute trash…1/2/5
N/a on Spotify
No, that "singing" over those jingly jangly melodies is no fun
Hated it.
Mmh
Cannot play this on spotify
Didn't like this one at all really. Poor singing, melodramatic, and fairly boring. Felt a lot longer than half an hour, even though I listened to it twice.
can't listen :(
No
There is a fine line between wistful melancholy and apathetic boredom. BPB straddles that line pretty intently, but too often leans towards the latter. Scratch that. BPB dives head first into a giant tank populated with I-couldn't-give-a-flying-fuck-fish, don't-care-a-damnselfish, shut-the-fugguppies and a great trite shark. This album has all the excitement of sitting next to your filled up bathtub with a fishing rod, trying to catch any floating hair for an hour. And it's equally pointless. One useless, flaccid fishing rod out of five. 🎣
This album tricks you into thinking it might be decent with the first song, don’t be fooled.
I feel like this was designed to hit many of my musical pet peeves. Particularly, overdubbed backing vocals that are out-of-sync with the lead vocals. I HATE that shit, and the rest of the recording was so sparse it just drew more attention to it. I was legitimately annoyed throughout this entire album and would rather not hear it again.
I don’t get it.
Being honest with myself - I already know that I'm really never giving this much of a chance when within 10 seconds I'm given a taste of the slacker vocals within. I'm not necessarily saying he's *bad* - it's just the style. Semi lo-fi, low impact, low volume, and yeah - slacker vocals. Do you have a better term for any of that? I hate it all. It's not a tuning issue, it's not that there's weakness in points - not at all. In fact so-called perfection in vocals is equally distracting. Just... jesus, clear your damn throat, take a step or 2 back from the mic and let'er go. And yeah yeah even in the second song he's giving a little more but it absolutely still carries the same aesthetic. Absolutely 100% not my bag. As for the music - if it bored me it'd be more interesting. Hard hard no. 2/10 1 star.
Ikke tilgængeligt
I always see this album recommended and have listened so many times but I really don't like it. It's probably a 2 normally but for the annoyance factor I'm going 1.
Not really my speed
Ok, wasn't particularly drawn in. Oddly unharmonic.
Fucking dreary piece of shit
I remember the music papers creaming their tits about how good this album was when it came out. I think that says a lot about how low a bar music was setting itself in 1999. This was then, and still is now, a painfully dreary album.
Too nick drake-esque
It seems to be a very touching album, songs are very sad and calm, it's not bad, but it's not the style I like.
So slow and Melancholy

Not too long ago I was introduced to Will Oldham by author, educator, internet personality and awesome human, John Green. After hearing "New Partner" from Oldham's Palace Music project, I don't think anything can come close. Didn't care for this one.
not available on streaming
Not on Spotify, so unable to listen
"Madeleine-Mary" and "Song For the New Breed" were good tracks. Other than that.....meh.
1.5
Weird, not quirky. Overrated. Derivative. Unlistenable.
Depressing
ah
can't access on Spotify in NZ
I'd not heard of the artist or heard any of the music before, and when it started and as I read the Wikipedia on it, I thought I'd probably like it because it has a lot of elements of music I tend to enjoy; however, I did not like this album. Some moments are interesting musically, but most of the time I could not shake the feeling I was listening to parody, and it felt like parody I didn't get. I tried to be open-minded and listen to as parody, I liked it even less. Cool album cover art, though.
