I just keeps going and going and going. Half the album is the band tuning.

Radiohead
5/5
From what I remember, this was the album that challenged the rapidly changing music industry. I bought this digital album, directly from the bands website, for $5. They were the first major band to adopt the “pay what you want” digital distribution method.
This is one of my favorite Radiohead albums of all time. It has bangers, dreamers, sleepers, and ear worms. I have listened to this album so many times that I am at a loss for words when it comes to a proper review. It is great. The band is great. Listen to this album loud and often.
My favorite song on this album is Bodysnatchers. It gets into my guts and wiggles around. That makes me happy.
5 stars.
The Who
3/5
This may have been the only Who album I hadn't heard. I didn't get a lot out of it, but I never really do with The Who. They produced more than their fair share of hits and bangers but I can't stay focused on their music long enough to enjoy an entire album. Maybe if I were born in a different time, The Who would have been my jam, but I wasn't and they aren't.
My favorite track from the album is I Can See For Miles; Shocking, I know.
3 Stars.
The Waterboys
4/5
80's Scottish folk-rock. I think it is pretty dang good. I would probably pick this over U2 most days. My wife got me one of their records for my birthday a few years ago and now whenever I listen to them I think about her. That alone makes this album a 4-5 stars.
Soundgarden
5/5
For a long time, I disliked Soundgarden. Partially due to their popularity (yeah, I was one of those guys), and partially because they sparked the creation of many shitty grunge/rock bands. Those are both childish reasons to dislike a band (I was barely a teen when this album came out).
Listening to this album as a middle-aged man, I get it. It rocks. I guess my head and heart needed to mature a bit before I could enjoy this record.
My favorite song from this album is Kickstand. It is almost a punk song.
5 out of 5 stars (mostly because this album is iconic)
Neil Young
2/5
Yawn… Oh hi there. Sorry, I just can’t seem to stay awake today.
I have had many friends try to turn me on to Neil Young. My hippy friends love him. My indy rock friends love him. Even some metalheads love this Canadian weirdo. He must be great and I am dumb.
I had never heard of this album. To be fair, I haven’t heard many of his records. He REALLY likes to make music. That is one reason I feel a bit bummed out that his music doesn’t do anything for me. Maybe it is his voice that puts me off. Musically, he makes really solid art. I don’t know what to say. It is boring and hard to listen to.
Since I am committed to picking a favorite track on every album… Ugg. I guess it is Vampire Blues. I like satire.

Earth, Wind & Fire
4/5
Funk yeah, baby. The slow songs drag, but the bangers bang!
4 out of 5 stars.
LCD Soundsystem
4/5
For no reason other than I can be a miserable grumpy old man, I didn’t used to like LCD Soundsystem. I thought they were pretentious. I didn’t like the people that listened to them. Water under the bridge I say!
LCD Soundsystem is the illegitimate love child of The Talking Heads and Lou Reed. They have that weird NYC coolness and the electronic poppy likability. To be honest, this is the first time I actually listened to one of their albums in it’s entirety.
This album is very listenable. I can imagine it playing in a coffee shop, tattoo parlor, or a trendy pop-up shop. There are no sharp edges. Each song feels very well placed within the album.
My favorite track, surprisingly, is the last track on the album “New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down”. It isn’t danceable like the previous 9 tracks but it feels very honest. James Murphy actually shows a little vocal range.
I dug this album and will check out more of their stuff. 4 out of 5 stars.
Tom Waits
5/5
I love this album so much. It is in my favorite top 3 Tom Waits albums. When I first started listening to Waits around 2001, I wasn’t mature enough to enjoy his piano ballads. Now that I have aged like a fine carton of milk, my soft middle-aged brain/heart accepts every note Tom has ever recorded.
Over 20 years ago, I used to skip tracks like Blind Love, but now it feeds my soul. I still get plenty of joy out of the weirdo favorites like Jockey Full of Bourbon and Clap Hands, but hearing songs like Anywhere I lay My Head and Blind Love is what I look for when I put on a Tom Waits album these days.
If you like Tom Waits, there is a better-than-a-good chance we would get along. More Waits, please!
6 out of 5 stars.
The Mothers Of Invention
2/5
I am finally old enough to admit that I am never going to like Frank Zappa. I feel like I know his type (based on his music): he is the guy at the party that is all shitty about people getting too drunk and always talking about the things that make music boring instead of the things that make music good. Oh, and have you seen his strat? You gotta see his strat.
I don't have enough time left to try and like Frank Zappa before I die.
2 out of 5 stars.
(sorry, not sorry)
Big Black
3/5
I kind of like it. I don’t know.
Pulp
3/5
Pulp - Different Class - 1995
Holy shit. I didn’t know that William Shatner’s album “Has Been” was based on a cover from this Pulp album. To be fair, I had never heard of this band until today. I only knew about the Shatner album because Henry Rollins is featured on a track. It is a funny album. I might like it more than this album. It’s not that this isn’t a good album, but more that it just reminds me of the Shatner album and now that is all I want to listen to.
Apple Music’s Editors’ Notes include “…”Common People” is probably the greatest U.K. No. 2 single since Strawberry Fields Forever.” The UK in the 90’s must have been insufferably boring.
This album was alright. Kind of boring. Common People, Disco 2000, and Monday Morning are stand out tracks.

This is probably really good. I enjoyed listening to it but I don’t know how to process this music into an album review.

I had never heard of these guys. I love the first couple of Artic Monkeys' albums though. Would listen again on a day with more time.
5/5
Elvis Costello & The Attractions
3/5
I don’t love it, but I guess I never really did love Elvis Costello.
Raekwon
4/5
One of the best albums by a member of the Wu-Tang clan.
Beatles
4/5
It's the Beatles. Although, I never listened to this entire album on its own (because I am not a fan of the early stuff). 4 stars. Mostly because it's the Beatles.
The Undertones
3/5
It is fine.
Frank Ocean
2/5
I don't like it. My wife says "no, you don't like R&B". Either way there is one thing that I do know; I don't like Frank Ocean.
The Mars Volta
5/5
Thank Glob for genre changing mad-scientist-musicians like Cedric Bixler-Zavala.
The National
3/5
I bet this is really good music for people that experimented with cigarettes in college (like 2 times).
MC Solaar
2/5
Nah. Ragga Jam was a good track though. It is going into my "Weird French dudes doing reggae scating".
Caetano Veloso
3/5
Pretty good.
The Beach Boys
5/5
So haunting and upbeat. I don't listen to this album very often, but it is a nice treat every once in a while.
David Holmes
4/5
Really good stuff. Music with a sustained grooves
The Byrds
2/5
Not my cup of tea.
Janis Joplin
4/5
So this is the good Janis Joplin album.
Mercury Rev
3/5
This band is probably perfect for when you are on ecstasy and pondering the meaning of life when you are in your 20's.
Johnny Cash
5/5
Rick Ruben is a genius. He did the world a favor by letting us hear Johnny Cash in such a vulnerable and open way. Thanks, Rick and Johnny.
Barry Adamson
5/5
5 stars because the concept and execution are perfect.
The Cure
5/5

Beck
4/5
Beck has a ton of 5 star songs, but I don't know if he has any full 5 star albums. 4 rock hard stars out of 5.

Sonic Youth
2/5
I have wanted to like Sonic Youth for such a long time. I even saw them back in the '90s. They don't tickle my earballs no matter how many times I let them in.
Mj Cole
2/5

Tracy Chapman
2/5
Sorry, Chapman. You are a 2 star album in my heart.
Linkin Park
2/5
Jeff Beck
3/5
Jeff Beck is highly ranked and respected by all the people that love "guitar rock". He is a wizard. I am still calling this one 3 stars. It didn't speak to me in any way. It made me feel like I was stuck in a shitty bar, waiting for my friends to finish doing to coke in the bathroom, so we could finally leave before cat scratch fever comes on for the 5th time.
The Prodigy
4/5
For EDM/Techno, The Prodigy is pretty fucking good.
Steve Winwood

Haircut 100
5/5
Yes
3/5
There is such a thing as too much of a good thing. Is Yes good? Sure. Do they have to show off how good they are on every song? Probably not. They are jamming 10 lbs of notes into a 5 lbs bag.
Nothing at all to say. 4 stars, I guess.
Flamin' Groovies
4/5
This is a solid blues rock album. I will listen to it about as much as I listen to the Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers, which is about once a year.
