This was my generated album number 200! However not my 200th rating, as I’ve postponed it for 8 months. (Sorry, Iggy Pop.) So I’m quite the punk hater, meaning the genre description had me frightened. However, I thought there was some nice guitar work on the album. Also, you know that 10-minute incredibly repetitive third track? I absolutely loved that one. Great stuffs. But the album in general I thought was rather average and I can’t imagine I’ll return to it. Maybe there was a reason I postponed this for 8 months.
If I'd been young in the US in the 60's, Superbird might just have been my song of the summer. Unfortunately, I wasn't young in the 60's, and I'm also not from the States.
This is my rating #250, so that’s something special. Sadly, I didn’t really like this album. Specifically, I didn’t enjoy that the singer isn’t able to sing.
This is my third Talking Heads album on this list. It’s also the third time I decide I don’t like Talking Heads. Sigh. At least there’s only one left by now.
I haven’t got a lot to say. This is simply great music.
The second track alone would be an easy 5 for me. Sadly, I didn’t like the first one as much, but it doesn’t make it a bad album at all. I look forward to hearing more music by Davis.
I liked her voice and the melodies. I wasn’t a huge fan of the songwriting, but oh well.
I listened to this while reading some trashy vampire book and it reminded me that in one of the ‘Twilight’ movies, half the time is spent in South America. Mind you, a different country with a different language, but I still enjoyed the reminder. The songs were good as well, so that was a plus.
As I saw the cover art of todays album, I figured it’d end up being one of those days where I question why I do this to myself. Then the first track started, and I remembered the 70’s looked weird, but sounded amazing. I enjoyed everything on here, what an absolute banger of an album.
The album is - as the title suggests - ok. Which is from my side of a very positive review of an electronic album.
Amy has great vocals, and 'Back to Black' got five stars from me. However, this album is just a bit too all over the place. It's also rather long, and it feels like a few of the songs were just added as filler. Still a good album though.
My fourth (and last) talking heads album. I feel the same way I did listening to the first album. I really don’t enjoy it.
I’ve studied law in Germany. If anyone told me they’d listened to a 22 minutes of ‘wir fahren fahren fahren auf der Autobahn’, I would consider them legally insane. I suppose that includes myself now.
