Radiohead
5/5
Really loved this one. Love how well they can create an atmosphere with the vocals, lyrics and instrumentation. Probably about equal with amnesiac which I got a few months ago. 5 stars

Kanye West
5/5
Obviously hate the guy as a person but can’t deny how great his music was back when he wasn’t as mental. Maybe slightly longer than it needed to be whereas mbdtf felt a perfect length but it still managed to keep it interesting all the way through. As much as it feels weird to support his stuff I think I have to give this 5 stars

Buena Vista Social Club
4/5
Really enjoyed this as a first album. Some standouts were chan chan, el cuatro de tula, pueblo nuevo, buena vista social club and la bayamesa. Loved the piano on songs like the title track and pueblo nuevo. Even though I don’t speak Spanish or listen to much Cuban music this album was very enjoyable to listen to. Not much to say other than that this album is quite good
Jurassic 5
5/5
Great album. Favourite songs were freedom, break, remember his name, thin line, sum of us, I am somebody and acetate prophets. Haven’t listened to much hip-hop in the past but this was an amazing introduction to the genre. Just got a great energy about it. Definitely a 5 star in my opinion
Jimi Hendrix
4/5
Pretty good album. Favourite songs: Ain’t no telling, little wing, you got me floatin’, castles made of sand, one rainy wish. The first few songs had me concerned that this wasn’t going to be good but it eventually hit its stride. I did find the panning on some songs annoying. 4 stars
Curtis Mayfield
2/5
Just alright. Songs like so in love and blue Monday people were quite good but the rest of the songs just dragged on a bit too long. Some decent rhythms but nothing too extraordinary. Would give 2.5 stars if that was an option on this website but will just stick with 2 since it’s not
Thin Lizzy
4/5
Quite a good live album. Favourite songs: Emerald, southbound, massacre, don’t believe a word, are you ready. 4 stars
Sly & The Family Stone
3/5
Favourite songs: Stand!, somebody’s watching you, sex machine, you can make it if you try and my brain (zig zig). The albums alright, there’s some catchy stuff but not the best overall. 3 stars
The Stooges
3/5
It’s alright. I found the vocal delivery on most of the songs very lacklustre but the instrumentation is enough to bring it up to a 3. Favourite songs: Search and destroy, raw power.
Ministry
3/5
Favourite songs: N.W.O, scare crow, corrosion. I couldn’t really understand anything the singer was saying but the music sounded quite good on most songs. I’m just not the biggest metal fan which is why I can only rate this a 3
The Byrds
4/5
Pretty nice. Favourite songs: 5D, I see you, What’s happening, Captain soul,
Joy Division
1/5
Eh. Not very good in my opinion. The instruments were boring and the singing was honestly terrible in my opinion. If I had to pick a standout it would probably be the eternals but that’s about it. 1 star
The Stone Roses
4/5
Enjoyed this. Loved the general vibe but dragged on a bit. Still gets a high 4 stars
Kanye West
5/5
Despite the actions of Kanye this is a great album. Loved nearly everything on here. 5 stars
Femi Kuti
4/5
Good. Favourite songs were wonder wonder, frustrations and plenty nonsense. Liked most of the stuff on this album but doesn’t stand out too much
Paul Simon
4/5
Good album. Favourite songs: The boy in the bubble, Graceland, Gumboots, Crazy love, vol.II
4 stars
The Verve
3/5
Alright but way too long. Every song dragged and dragged and just felt repetitive. If this was 45 mins instead of 1 hour 15 then it would be a 4 star but for now it’s a 3
Orange Juice
1/5
Just no. The instrument were meh but the vocals were awful. Nothing that I particularly liked here. Can’t even pick a stand out song
Marty Robbins
4/5
Really enjoyable. Vocals were amazing, melodies were great, some of the songs were brilliant. But generally some songs felt too slow or like filler so I have to mark it down a point
Beatles
5/5
Amazing album. Favourite songs: Glass onion, Happiness is a warm gun, I’m so tired, Piggies, Julia, Everybody’s got something to hide except for me and my monkey, Sexy Sadie. 5 stars
Alice In Chains
3/5
3 stars. It was alright, just a decent metal album. Could’ve even gave this a two

Burning Spear

Decent, nothing too bad nothing too good. 3 stars

The first few songs had me disappointed but from dumb onwards I really enjoyed it and I think it gets up to a 4 star
Skunk Anansie
2/5
I thought I’d enjoy this one but really it ended up all sort of sounding samey and bland. I think I can only give this 2 stars
Dolly Parton
2/5
Not a big fan. It’s alright for a country album but I still not big on it. A high 2 star album
Radiohead
5/5

Dire Straits
2/5
Not the best really. Just quite a boring album. It picked up a bit during the second half but not enough to save it. 2 stars
Gram Parsons
2/5
Not my favourite. I just didn’t really like the sound of it and it felt a bit boring. 2 stars

4/5
Very good. Perfect length to not drag on and yet still have plenty to enjoy
The Go-Go's
3/5
Just a decent pop album. 3 stars
Don McLean
4/5

Violent Femmes
3/5
Felt like quite a warm album and was decent but nothing too special just 3 stars
Laibach
3/5
This was alright. I don’t really like those deep vocals that you often get in metal and some of the really experimental stuff was hard to listen to but other than that is quite good. 3 stars
The Triffids
2/5
I don’t think it deserves some of the hate that it gets but it still wasn’t for me. I’d probably go with 2.5 stars if I could but I’ll just stick with 2
The Doors
2/5
I just couldn’t really get into this one. 2 stars

Frank Sinatra
4/5
Some nice Sinatra stuff and great orchestration. 4 stars
Stan Getz
4/5
Weird how I got 2 Bossa nova albums in a row with even some overlap in the track list but I have similar feelings to this one as the last one. Very good but not quite 5 stars. 4 stars

Really nice chill ambient. 4 stars
Big Brother & The Holding Company
3/5
Didn’t give much to offer to me but it was alright anyway. 3 stars
Guns N' Roses
3/5
I mean you get what you expect of just the three hits and some filler hard rock that’s just some guitars being loud for 40 minutes. 3 stars
Sabu
1/5
If I get some of my pals together and get us to hit something for 40 minutes then is it essential listening before death? Didn’t think so.
The Flaming Lips
2/5
There was alright stuff on here but just overall bleh stuff. 2 stars
Björk
3/5
There was some really good stuff on here and especially the more energetic songs were amazing and really suited her voice. The slower and more relaxed songs didn’t though and just felt a bit boring or annoying at times. I’ll give it 3 stars.

Tom Tom Club
4/5

Sisters Of Mercy
2/5
Overall I just couldn’t really get into this. Honestly if that short song at the end were a full song it would’ve been my favourite on the album and if the rest of the album sounded closer to that it probably wouldn’t have ended up being 2 stars
The Police
3/5
It was alright. I preferred regetta de blanc quite a bit more but it was still quite a nice album. 3 stars
Björk
1/5
I just couldn’t enjoy this album. The strings were decent but an hour of sad strings over murmurs of death, love and sadness doesn’t make a good listen. Even if there is some variation on that every song drags on so long that it just becomes tired and boring. Like I said on my review of debut I think that bjork works better with upbeat songs and not sad 10 minute snoozefests. 1 star
Ray Charles
3/5
Nothing to dislike but not too much that stood out as that good, 3 stars
Screaming Trees
4/5
Really cool little sound it’s got going on, just all round pretty nice. 4 stars

Really good songwriting and playing on this but the vocals weren’t the best on most tracks. Still really good. 4 stars
Radiohead
5/5
Really loved this one. Love how well they can create an atmosphere with the vocals, lyrics and instrumentation. Probably about equal with amnesiac which I got a few months ago. 5 stars

I was a bit turned away by the length and some of the singing but once I got used to it I realised it was really quite good. 4 stars
The Coral
3/5
I mean it wasn’t the best thing ever but it was still pretty good and it didn’t go on too long. 3 stars
The Who
3/5
I mean I guess it was alright but at the same time, wtf did I just listen to. 3 stars
Beatles
4/5

George Jones
2/5
Like I can see how it could be liked but just wasn’t my thing. 2 stars

4/5
Pretty good and chill. 4 stars
The Rolling Stones

They really found a sound and stuck to it for an hour but at least it was quite a good sound they went with, though still could do with a bit of variety. 3 stars
Carpenters
3/5
It was alright pop stuff with good vocals. 3 stars
The Divine Comedy
2/5
Just felt far too over the top and full of its self and just didn’t sound good, some was at least slightly decent so not 1 star but can only make it to 2
Cat Stevens
3/5
Kinda interesting and nothing bad but just didn’t do much for me honestly. 3 stars
Bruce Springsteen
4/5
Just an absolute bop all the way through even if it’s sad. Almost tempted to give it 5 but I don’t think it’s quite worth that. 4 stars
Dead Kennedys
2/5
Those vocals were meant to be a joke, right? If not I feel sorry for the lead singer for thinking it sounded good. Other than that it was mediocre I guess. 2 stars
Amy Winehouse
4/5
Nice vocals and great arrangements, what’s not to like. 4 stars
The Vines
3/5
Started off really quick and electric and fun but started to drag a bit later on, still quite good. 3 stars
Jane's Addiction
3/5
Bored me a bit in the first half but picked up again in the middle and the end was alright so it kinda won me over. Still only 3 stars
5/5
I mean what is there to give this other than 5 stars. Not my favourite Beatles album but obviously still great all round
Stevie Wonder
3/5
It’s just some sorta good stuff I guess but I don’t know just didn’t really stand out to me. 3 stars

4/5

Teenage Fanclub
3/5
Felt a bit boring at parts but still had nice stuff on it. 3 stars
3/5
Don’t know why it gets any hate really, I guess the lack of streaming? But yeah just kinda an average album to me. Almost sounded like a worse version of some of the stuff the beach boys were doing in the mid 60s. Anyway 3 stars
The Allman Brothers Band
3/5
Like ok it’s jams. Ok. 3 stars
The The
4/5
Some cool 80s synth stuff combined with a vocal style from a new wave singer that I can actually enjoy, take the 4 stars
Robert Wyatt
3/5
Don’t get why people like absolutely hate this one and rock bottom, I just like the style. Even with that this was a bit long so can only give a 3
Brian Wilson
4/5
I mean the songs on themselves weren’t the best but together it works quite well. R.I.P 4 stars
Prince
2/5
Like did it really need to be 80 minutes? I didn’t particularly like the music and the length just made it worse. 2 stars
Buzzcocks
3/5
Punk isn’t really my genre but they gave it a good go and I can’t say I disliked it really. 3 stars
Oasis
2/5
The songs had some nice concepts but then went on and on and on and on and on and on and on. I nearly dozed off during it. 2 stars

Jazz. Cool I guess? 3 stars
Dion
2/5
You can definitely feel the Spector on this one. Felt kinda underwhelming, nothing stuck out too much. 2 stars
Deerhunter
3/5

The Sugarcubes
3/5
Like I’ve said in previous reviews I prefer Björks vocal delivery in more upbeat songs and I’m glad that this sticks more to that but even with that I feel this was still lacking things. 3 stars
Cream
3/5
Some decent psychedelic stuff that I guess would kinda lead into hard rock eventually, not the best though. Claptons already talking about cheating even before he takes George Harrison’s wife and just overall wasn’t top quality. 3 stars
Yes
4/5
Really liked this one. Love the style that they have and just really cool album. 4 stars
Randy Newman
2/5
Like there was some alright stuff maybe but like… any white guy repeatedly saying the n word isn’t gonna get above 2 stars
Fugazi
3/5
Some nice stuff, nothing too great. 3 stars
Johnny Cash
3/5
It was alright. Cool concept though. 3 stars
John Prine
4/5
Don’t really usually like country but this was a cool listen, really good lyrics and nice vocals. 4 stars
Black Sabbath
4/5
Really cool and innovative for heavy metal. Really enjoyable. R.I.P to Ozzy Osbourne as well. 4 stars
Fugees
3/5
Some good but not honestly my favourite. Like it’s still nice but some of the more sorta sparse sounding songs on the album got a bit boring. Gets a 3 stars though
Ramones
3/5
I liked the rapid fire nature and its cool that it pioneered punk but then again it also pioneered that punk vocal style that I just can’t get behind, I can really only give this a 3 and that feels slightly generous
My Bloody Valentine
4/5
Loved the atmosphere, like people have said maybe a few songs went on too long but still 4 stars
Iron Maiden
4/5
Some nice energetic metal with some catchy stuff there. 4 stars
Sufjan Stevens
5/5
Really really loved this one. He has such a good voice and the instruments all sound just perfect and the lyrics are really good as well. Have to give it 5 stars
The Byrds
2/5
Like alright I guess, got a bit bland at points but not the worst thing ever, still only 2 stars though
R.E.M.
2/5
Eh, wasn’t the best, just felt a bit off and not appealing. 2 stars
Suede
2/5
Generally felt a bit dreary to me and didn’t give me much interest. 2 stars
Soundgarden
3/5
Decent hard rock, some cool stuff, generally didn’t excite me too much. 3 stars
George Michael
3/5
Decent stuff. Didn’t fully grab my attention though. 3 stars
The 13th Floor Elevators
2/5
Just a bit too weird psychedelic for me and didn’t do much. 2 stars
Meat Loaf
4/5
Really nice sorta prog style stuff with the progressions throughout the songs, great sound to go along with it. 4 stars
Buddy Holly & The Crickets
3/5
Like it’s 50s rock and roll, not much to say just average to me. 3 stars
Michael Kiwanuka
4/5
Amazing atmosphere, not all of it was my favourite though so only 4 stars instead of 5
N.W.A.
3/5
Decent hip hop, didn’t feel too special to me. 3 stars
Arcade Fire
3/5
Felt like something I would like but something was just a bit off and it didn’t really do much for me. Still 3 stars though
Fun Lovin' Criminals
3/5
Alright rap. 3 stars
Mercury Rev
3/5
Eh, some good stuff but mainly mediocre and felt a bit odd. 3 stars
The Rolling Stones
4/5
Really liked it. Good vibe throughout and some nice catchy stuff. 4 stars
Madonna
3/5
Liked it a bit, typical 80s, nice vocals, some decent sound and songs that probably go on far too long. 3 stars
Ghostface Killah
3/5
Some ok rap. 3 stars
Prince
4/5
Really good, amazing stuff, lovely sound. 4 stars
3/5
Cool but also didn’t really do much for me. 3 stars
Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
3/5
Eh you know what, why not just give it 3 stars
Janet Jackson
3/5
It’s an hour of similar sounding 5-6 minute typical 80s dance tracks about love which in isolation are fine but get repetitive when it’s 10 of them back to back. 3 stars which is maybe generous honestly
Parliament
4/5
Really good funk, loved it from start to finish, such a vibe. 4 stars
Bebel Gilberto
2/5
Just felt like background music. 2 stars
Lou Reed
4/5
Really liked this one, sad but managed to still be interesting throughout, really liked his vocals aswell. 4 stars
Foo Fighters
3/5
Just some hard rock, a bit bland I guess, average. 3 stars
De La Soul
3/5
The album did have a kinda nice vibe to it and wasn’t the worst but did it really need to be 23 songs long? Not really. 3 stars
Randy Newman
3/5
Better than the other one I got from him (at least he didn’t say the n word this time) just some decent country stuff I guess. 3 stars
Coldplay
3/5
Some good songs on here but quite a bit was a bit too long and boring and overall it was just decent. 3 stars
Talking Heads
2/5
Could just say refer to my reviews of fear of music and talking heads 77 cause that’s three albums from these guys that have just been dull, sure there are a few decent moments but it’s not enough to make it a good album. 2 stars
Booker T. & The MG's
4/5
Some cool instrumental stuff with a cool sound that it had, just a nice time. 4 stars
Yes
4/5
Really good. People complaining about the minute long instrumentals but I think they were cool little pace breakers between the main songs and said main songs were very good so overall 4 stars
Thelonious Monk
4/5
Some lovely instrumental, good vibes and nice melodies. 4 stars
The Temptations
4/5
Really nice, loved the vibe of it. 4 stars
Eagles
4/5
Some cool mid 70s rock, obviously knew the title track but overall the rest was very fun as well. 4 stars
Sam Cooke
3/5
Pretty cool little live album, was a nice listen. 3 stars
Cocteau Twins
4/5
Nice atmosphere and vibe, worked really well all together, pretty fun. 4 stars
The Blue Nile
4/5
Maybe it was a bit slow and meandered at times but I did really like quite a lot of it so 4 stars
Holger Czukay
1/5
Just didn’t do much for me, a bit too much and just didn’t really sound all too good, felt like nothing fit together coherently if that makes sense. Honestly 1 star
R.E.M.
3/5
Some good stuff but in general just sorta average, didn’t fully like the sound it had that much. 3 stars
David Bowie
5/5
Finally after 249 days a Bowie album!! Just absolutely amazing 5 stars, love it, love it, love it. You can expect a few more reviews like this stars wise for upcoming Bowie albums
Orbital
3/5
Cool ambient, pretty nice listen, probably two long but still, 3 stars
Soft Machine
4/5
You know what, I actually did quite like this, some bits were a bit challenging but generally it was really enjoyable and fun mainly instrumentals with innovative sounds that worked well. 4 stars
The Who
4/5
Really liked it, had no fucking idea what was going on but what I did pick up was interesting and the sound was really well done. 4 stars
Badly Drawn Boy
4/5
Enjoyed this one, good voice, good sound and was long enough to really get a feel for it without feeling like it dragged. 4 stars
Mylo
4/5
Some really cool dance music. Really fun listen. 4 stars
Roxy Music
4/5
Really liked this one, great atmosphere throughout and nice vocals, didn’t overstay its welcome. 4 stars
Fela Kuti
4/5
Some pretty nice live jam style stuff, good groove to it all. 4 stars
Nico
2/5
Hmm. The music was alright, maybe a bit too fairytale-y at times and a bit too abstract at others but okay I guess. But the vocals didn’t really help, just not a vocal style I liked. 2 stars
The Replacements
2/5
Felt pretty bland and didn’t give me much. 2 stars
Marvin Gaye
4/5
Some cool soul, at the start of the album I get another one of those moments where I recognise a melody but never known where it came from until now. Anyway yeah liked this one. 4 stars
Buffalo Springfield
3/5
Felt pretty average to me, nothing that stood out as that bad or good, just some music that’s ok to listen to and nothing more. 3 stars
Alexander 'Skip' Spence
3/5
Ok. Vocals were a bit garbled at times and psychedelic rock can get repetitive when the artist doesn’t do much special with it. 3 stars
Hüsker Dü
1/5
An hour of this? Annoying rock with terrible vocals, and one of the worst looking album covers I’ve ever seen
Sarah Vaughan
3/5
An ok live album, some nice moments but just a bit mixed. 3 stars
Anita Baker
3/5
Don’t quite know how to rate this one, there was definitely good things but on the whole it felt kinda a bit meh honestly. So I guess 3 stars
fIREHOSE
3/5
Bang average. 3 stars
Black Sabbath
4/5
Really liked this one, just some lovely hard rock that really just sounds good, don’t know how else to describe it, just really nice. 4 stars
ABBA
4/5
Some cool pop, probably on the lower side of 4 stars but still just about qualifies for that
Belle & Sebastian
2/5
Some good on here like the title track but a lot of it just felt like rip off morrisey vocals on top of limited and odd instrumentals. Can only go for 2 stars
Jacques Brel
2/5
It offers very little musically, I don’t really like his voice and while I’m sure the lyrics are probably good if you understand them, I’ve just got to work with what I’ve got which is very limited French and therefore I couldn’t enjoy this one much. 2 stars
Kanye West
Kid Rock
1/5
is bro ok… who’s he shouting at like? He keeps on saying that he doesn’t care while spending 71 minutes showing that he cares far too much. I almost want to give it a 2 just to reward the nerve it took to put this out there, but then I remember what I just listened to and have to drop it down to a 1
Billie Holiday
2/5
Honestly didn’t really like this, the vocals were kinda off putting and the instrumental wasn’t that interesting. 2 stars
Dire Straits
4/5
Liked this one a whole lot more than brothers in arms, mainly due to the fact that this one wasn’t shite. Was very chill and had a good sound throughout. 4 stars
George Michael
4/5
Yeah this one was pretty nice, really good sounding in every song. 4 stars
Tom Waits
2/5
Like I know some people like it but Jesus Christ when a vocal is so gravelly and gutteral that throughout the whole album all I can think about is my throat and how weird it feels then I can’t really get into the album, instrumentals were decent though so it can at least get 2 stars
Beach House
2/5
Well, it was just a bit shit wasn’t it? 2 stars
The Specials
3/5
Odd blend of genres but found it fun if very weird. Probably a 3 star
Mj Cole
3/5
Decent electronic. Not the best all round but probably just about deserves a 3
LL Cool J
3/5
When my (very white) dad was a teenager he wrote down the lyrics of the title song on a piece of paper so he could rap them to himself whenever he wanted and thought that made him cool. How sad.
Paul Simon
3/5
Some okay sorta folk stuff. Didn’t really engage me much. 3 stars
Bob Marley & The Wailers
4/5
What I would’ve expected from a bob Marley album, good but nothing exceptional, groovy stuff. 4 stars
Klaxons
4/5
Was pleasantly surprised by this one, hadn’t heard anything about this band but I found this to be a great listen. 4 stars

Steely Dan
4/5
Yeah pretty good, nice groove. Don’t have much to say about it, 4 stars

5/5
Just perfection. I love it so so much. A new career in a new town is maybe my favourite song of all time, the album art is immaculate. 5 stars
Primal Scream
4/5
Some pretty good electronic music, was a nice vibe for a walk along the coast while on holiday. 4 stars
David Bowie
5/5
Might be my Bowie bias giving this 5 stars since it is probably weaker than some of his other work but I still just absolutely love this one, can’t give it any less the 5 stars
Kacey Musgraves
3/5
Eh, middle of the road, boring country
Dizzee Rascal
4/5
Honestly quite enjoyed this one, very fun and cool. 4 stars
TV On The Radio
3/5
Some decent stuff, not too memorable. 3 stars
The Killers
4/5
Really cool aesthetic to the sound. Liked it a lot. 4 stars
Gary Numan
4/5
I usually end up mixed on new wave albums because I like the style of music but sometimes the vocals just don’t work for me, this time because the vocals were limited (and even then I did think there was a charm to them) and the music was just as good or better than other albums in the genre I have to go this a 4 stars I think
Neil Young
4/5
Enjoyed this one quite a bit, nice chill folk stuff with good lyrics. 4 stars
Miles Davis
3/5
Just some ok jazz. 3 stars
The Zombies
4/5
Got some like beach boys and early pink Floyd vibes from this, pretty cool, enjoyed it quite a bit. 4 stars

Meh, some short songs with nice vocals and not much substance. 3 stars
Fatboy Slim
3/5
Ok, dragged a bit. 3 stars

3/5
It’s blues well past its prime, felt a bit stale but ok I guess
Lambchop
3/5
Alright, had a nice vibe but fully my style. 3 stars
The Rolling Stones
3/5
Ok. Maybe I’m just tired of the Rolling Stones Albums by now but this just felt decent and not much else. 3 stars
Cyndi Lauper
3/5
The two big hits are really good. Rest of the album wasn’t my absolute favourite, the vocals are so high that they can feel a bit screechy, but it was ok overall. 3 stars
Jefferson Airplane
4/5
Cool psychedelic rock with nice vocals. 4 stars
Radiohead
5/5
Maybe not as good as their other ones that I’ve got, but I just can’t resist some Radiohead, I just love it. 5 stars
Japan
4/5
Some cool synthy stuff with decent vocals unlike a lot of albums in this genre so I think it gets a 4 stars
Hugh Masekela
2/5
Just really long, enjoyed some elements but like 70 minutes is just two much for this type of music. 2 stars
Leonard Cohen
4/5
Some eerie folk, perfect even (if unnerving) for the winters night walk that I listened to it during. 4 stars
Boston
4/5
First song is another one of those moments this generator where I recognise a song but never knew from where, and I guess now I know. The rest of the album was good as well. Lots of good stuff. 4 stars
Black Sabbath
4/5
Yeah, some really cool hard rock, lots of great songs. Very high 4 star, barely missing out on a 5
The Doors
4/5
Some cool songs on here but can slip into boring blues rock, but still worth a 4 stars
Green Day
4/5
Really enjoyed this. Lots of good songs, nice vocals and a cool vibe. 4 stars
Taylor Swift
4/5
Honestly the was really good, didn’t expect that from it but like it was kinda amazing. 4 stars

Taylor Swift
4/5
Enjoyed this one, really nice. Better than expected
David Bowie
4/5
Even with my Bowie bias this can only get a 4. Young Americans is great and win is excellent. Other songs on the album are good but more sorta middling with a few highlights
