Maybe I'm not smart enough to get this album. But that was a brutal listen, checked off the list and will never revisit it.

Atmospheric and haunting tracks. Grim lyrics and sharp piano. Very cinematic.
Iconic.
One of the best albums of all time.
Great early rock album. Excellent guitar riffs. A touch of punk on Stone Cold Crazy.
Solid discount album. Smooth as butter and great baselines.
Smooth vocal. Solid funk/jazz backing music and guitar.
Good early 2000's alternative album.
Solid classic rock album. Almost a greatest hits album.
Ahead of its time.
Not sure what warrants this being on a list like this. Might be one of the "had to be there" type albums. Overall not terrible, some fun reggae/African jams but probably something I won't come back to.
Kind of surprised but pleased to see this album on the list. Objectively this album probably doesn't deserve a 4/5, but its nostalgic and I love Incubus.
Got some popular tracks but as a complete album its so so.
This was a fun last 90s pop record. Not really sure it deserves a spot on a 1001 list, but its something I would never have picked up on my own.
I really enjoyed this record. Had some Kraftwerk vibes, but in a more modern pop setting.
Maybe I'm not smart enough to get this album. But that was a brutal listen, checked off the list and will never revisit it.
Solid electro pop record. Got some 80s vibes on a few tracks.
No my cup of tea. Not sure if meatloaf is parody or earnest and that's not great.
#1 Record by Big Star (terrible names) I really enjoyed this record. This is a band that has completely evaded me my entire life. Strong Led Zeppelin and Beatles influences on this record. Nevertheless I really enjoyed the tracks on this record.
I enjoyed this album. Good mix of funk and folk.
I've known about Tom Waits for years but hadn't gotten around to listening to him. I can see why people like him, I just dont love the spoken word set to jazz in a raspy voice thing.
I'm not a huge disco fan but was to have this pop up today. Was a very fun album for today.
One of the best live albums of all time. Love framptons guitar style.
I'm not really a fan of 80s pop and drum machines. This is no exception.
Incredible album. Quintessential punk rock record with no wasted motion.
Nearly flawless album. Doesn't wear out its welcome. Easy 5/5
Solid punk rock album, nothing absolutely blew me away.
Incredible album. Wilco's blend of alternative, indie, country styles flow seamlessly through this album. 4/5
Great early metal album. Some.huge hits as well as some deeper cuts. 4/5
Some enjoyable tracks, but ultimately forgetable for me.
Never heard of this band before but really enjoyed them. To my ear had a Coldplay mixed with RHCP vibes.
This is a fun pop rock record.
Soul classic
This is the type of album that deserves a spot on the list. Really enjoyable listen. Great mix of blues and funk. 4/5
This is the Talking Heads at their best. Some really fun and upbeat songs. With that being said I find their style very repetitive and uninteresting. 3/5
Some really infectious beats. Really fun album. It started off very strong but kind of dragged a bit through the middle.
Not quite sure why this is on the list.
Some serious song writing talent on this album. Very solid listen.
Arguably the greatest debut album of all time. Just hit after hit. Great album. 4/5
Kind of dull and repeating. A 2 hour edm album that doesn't go to interesting places was a herculean task.
Incredible album. Excellent production and sound. Easy 5/5.
I get this is supposed to be quirky and silly but I just found it annoying. 2/5
This was the most challenging album on the list so far. This album is objectively really good, however Kanye in recent years is an admitted nazi. In an attempt to separate the art from the artist. 4/5
Beautifully composed and produced album. Excellent vibe 5/5
A solid alt/indie/pop album. I have no idea why its taking up space on this list. Infinitely forgettable but not the worst I've heard. 3/5
Completely forgettable 80's pop. 2/5
This album had some tracks i really liked. Some others not so much, overall a solid experience. 3/5
Visionary. Arguably the greatest hip-hop record of all time.
Fantastic grunge album. Some of their best hits and the album is consistently good. 4/5
Having never heard of this band before I was impressed. This album had a very atmospheric vibe. 3/5
La Grange gets this album a 3/5. The rest of the album is pretty generic to be honest. I like ZZ Top, just wondering why there are multiple albums by them on this list.
Quintessential nu-metal album. Slap bass, trashy snare and unintelligible grunting. Great album 4/5.
Love getting this on a Friday. Great vibes, production and instrumentation. 5/5
This just wasn't very interesting to me.
Insanely depressing especially for a Friday. However, great album 4/5
This album has some high highs, but overall seemed pretty bloated. With that said, I still enjoyed it and love George's weepy guitar tones.
Angsty white boy metal does not hold up to the modern day. With that said its nostalgic to me and its fun to rage out sometimes. 4/5
This is very generic and not interesting to me. 2/5
This is a great album to put on a good pair of headphones and sink into a chair to enjoy. 4/5
Solid punk rock album. All the songs sound the same though. 3/5
This isn't my favorite arcade fire album. However their influence on early 00's indie music can't be denied. This is a really strong album. 4/5
No clue why this is on the list. 2/5
Solid brit pop album 3/5
Had heard a lot about Nick Drake and was pleasantly surprised he lived up to the hype. Really enjoyed the vibe of this album. 4/5
This cheesy 80s pop isn't it. Its the musical equivalent to your teeth hurting from biting an ice cream cone. 2/5
One of the greatest albums of all time. Iconic. 5/5
Funny, chaotic and weird. Absolutely loved this album. The themes range from poignant to funny. 4/5
This is how 80s synth should be done. Great atmospheric album. 4/5
This is my 3rd and hopefully final Talking Heads album. Genuinely don't get the hype and acclaim with this band.
Funky and fun album. Easy listen. Nothing earth shattering to me though. 3/5
Why is this 90 minute generic Latin dance album on this list? 2/5
Never heard of this band, but was pleasantly surprised. Really enjoyed their sound. 4/5
This was a funky and fun listen. However all the songs sound just about the same so it tended to drag. 3/5
Well, cross that one off the list.
This album does some interesting things, but not for me.
I was so excited to dig into this but its aged pretty badly. Some high points but can't give it more than 3/5
This wasn't bad at all, but no clue why it was included on the list.
I'm sure this band was influential or pioneers, however to my modern ears this just doesn't do it for me. The reggae punk blend with the vocals feels very rough.
Feel like this didn't age super great.
Cohen doing his best Tom Waits impression.
This was not worth an hour of my time. Some adult contemporary piano and sax with weird sound effects thrown in is not something I needed to hear.
Solid early hard rock, but nothing special.
Really liked this album. Just solid classic rock, also the closing track was great.
What the hell was this?
I feel like outside of Cult of Personality this album is very meh. 3/5
Solid folk/blues album. Doesn't wear out its welcome 4/5
Funky and fun
