very middle of the road. liked one song
Brit pop. A little generic sounding but likely due to being so iconic.
dont like it
Super not our jam. I would have rated this 1/5, but after how bad Tom Waits was, it doesn't seem fair.
Not as engaging as their later efforts. Some tracks have a good deal of life to them, but I feel like most are somewhat repetitive and forgettable. Too much straight britpop with sing-song structure
Wohoo. Ugg.
honestly expected more rather boring and just overall British more than any other unique style
As the first song began to play, I thought it sounded nice: Blur clearly has some Britpop chops. I still think that, but the sequencing and the length ended up souring me to Parklife-in-full. There's a lot of stylistic jumping around, with not enough fun being had in it. At the same time, the high points aren't high enough to perk up my ears. It's a fifty-minute grab bag of tracks, all of which end up sounding nice enough. It might be a gem for someone who liked each of the songs just a little more, but for me it outlives its welcome. The cover would be striking on a shelf: I give them that Blur unreservedly.
Ok this is amateur as fuck. The last blur album was shit and it was way better than this. 2/5.
Bonkmachine <br>
I know Blur from "Song 2." That song is not on this album. Parklife is Britpop — very English, very 1994, jumping between styles without warning. "Girls & Boys" is fine. The rest is all over the place. 1/5 — wrong album, wrong mood, wrong me.
Needed to put it down halfway through because it was so annoying, I hate his stupid voice.
More Britpop noise. The best part of this album is that it ended.
This was a no for me. I don’t care for Blur’s music nor was this inspirational or memorable to me.
I feel every single song was the same
favs: the debt collector far out to the end london loves rating 1.3/5
almost unlistenable, thanks
I was expecting something like The Stones Roses, but this is nothing like The Stone Roses and also terrible.
I didn't listen to it
ass
Thanks, I hate it.
Absolutely terrible like horrendously
This albums sounds like they are trying to mix music from the past (specifically beat, a bit of post-punk and new wave) and give it a new twist, but somehow it doesn't work.
I had heard the first song but it was certainly not indicative of the best of the album. I’m not sure who this band wants to be but I can’t say I really care. Leads vocal is irritating and the music style was all over the map of a place I never want to visit again.
Innovativ? Herausragend? Nö, öde, das übliche Britpop-Gejaule! Forget it!
Not for me
this is so bad and hurts my ears i hate the british
Never heard, not a fav, still waiting on my fav by then to show up.
ok so i thought i liked blur but this was not good
I really dislike this… End of the century is ok and probably pushes this up to a 1.5 but the rest of it is not for me
No me interesó.
Boys and Girls is a great song. I just didn’t like the rest. Played the album in the car and Iggy seemed to like it. “Only when they are singing, not while they are talking.”
The album cover alone gave me a gross feeling. Maybe if I had heard it in 1994 I would’ve enjoyed more?
Nah
More mediocre Brit pop bullshit that didnt need to be on this list
not my jive...poorly executed punk...drums to heavy.
I don't like Blur one bit.
Gaar experimenteel album. Vast allemaal innovatief en boundary/convention pushing voor z'n tijd, maar simply not enjoyable to listen to. Liked Songs: Clover Over Dover
Did not like.
Radiohead’s greatest musical achievement was killing BritPop.
This is clown music
I liked “this is a low” and that is it. I really did not enjoy this album and it took me ages to complete. Not really sure why it is so critically acclaimed, the whole thing felt messy and incohesive, just because someone sings with an accent doesn’t make it good.
“It’s nothing special” - Blur. Except especially too long. Almost gave it a 2 because Girls and Boys has some precursor/ancestral hints to The Killers Somebody Told Me. But dragged down by too much rubbish as the Brits would say.
I do not like Blur. I went in with an open mind as to not ruin my listening experience, but this just reminded me why I don’t like blur. It sounds like several different bands fighting for attention on this record and all of them band. Stupid, pretentious, postering nonsense. Get to fuck.
🤮
I had a tinge of irony today when I listened to ‘Bank Holiday’ on a Bank Holiday. Unfortunately, that’s the closest I came to any sort of feeling other than complete disbelief and boredom at this pisspoor excuse of an album. The dogs on the cover are running away from a Blur live show, no doubt. This is absolutely awful, kitschy pop.
Hmmmmm gad vide hvordan det er 🙀🙀🙀🙀
Ordinary
Everyone agrees that our phones are listening to us but I don't think people are aware that the 1001 Albums Generator is also listening. Talk shit on Girls & Boys and the generator will punish you with Blur. When this album doesn't bore me, it annoys me. Every song had a moment where I'd hit my limit, look down at the runtime, and somehow there would always be 2 minutes left of pain.
A rare 1. This album really annoyed me. Generic boring brit-pop dnf. Why is this on the list? Genuinely I could find better music on the radio
Listen, Damen Albern is a legend. But this is just bland Brit pop. I couldn't find a single song worth revisiting.
Terrible album
Not bad. If any of these songs came on a station or Playlist I'd listen.
more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop more britpop
No thanks
Naw
Albarn's vocals are particularly annoying here. Not a single stand out track; produced well enough
made it through the first 4 songs. gg
Ight. Just ight
No me ha gustado
Absolutely awful. Parklife was okay, and that's as good as it got. I couldn't even finish it and gave up after To the End.
Chaotic
I don’t think I like Blur. End of a Century might be the only half-decent track on here for me. Everything else is insufferable, grating, and practically unlistenable.
Mmmmmm, nah
Britpop shit Tony Blair shit
Not my cup of tea. It was not the worst that I have ever heard and I found myself tapping my foot a few times. The Debt Collector had me feeling like I was at a circus. Very strange. If someone else was into this album and wanted to listen to it, I would be ok to listen again, but I would never seek it out on my own. One and done is ok for me.
Not for me. 1/5
Another 90's album that's overly long! And with brit-pop to boot. 1.5 stars
13 year old me might have vibed with this - but that's also questionable! This was boring af 🫠 Album rating: ⭐
Pure crap !
Gruwelijke zeik-nummers
Mostly derivative of the kinks. I love the kinks but not this.
Great. Another Britpop band... The British catch a lot of hell for their bland food, but they don't get near enough grief for enjoying bland music. Why do they all have to sound like the unholy marriage of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Wonderwall!? I feel a little bad because this album was at least slightly less boring than The Verve's "Urban Hymns" that came up a couple of days ago, but because I'm still not over how awful that was, I'm punishing this one with a one star rating.
Feels like I've listened to a soundtrack to a shitty British sitcom, where the characters are all unrelateable posh wankers.
This barely sounds like music to met. It's just a bunch of noises put over each other
I want to write this while this record is very fresh in my mind. Mainly so I never have to suffer through it again. God damn, I hated this. I’m sorry to the fans out there, and I will say I like Gorillaz, and even Damon Albarn’s solo record, so I went in with some excitement, but was in pure misery by the end of it. I’m on a road trip right now, and decided to chip away at my long list of 1001 albums, and Parklife sucked the life out of the car. When listening to Chic I was talking about how much I love the road. Blur made me want to crash the car. I’m sure there’s some genius I’m missing, but I have to say this is amongst my least favorite albums ever.
not my vibe
Not for me.
Dislike this Blur album. Much prefer Blur (1997).
Lots or repetition within each song. The little short tracks spring led in were a nice little surprise but kind of odd music (organs I think?) Liked Nw Low the best.
A couple of classics with Parklife and Boys & Girls. Unfortunately the rest of the album was mediocre at best and total drivel at worst
I appreciate how timely this is, given the Oasis reunion news. There is one good song on this album and a bunch of unbelievably annoying ones. It is absolutely insane that they were ever placed in a "rivalry" with the Gallagher brothers, who are absolute knobs and wildly overrated in their own right, but Blur never came close.
I didn't like this music when it came out. And I still don't like this music however many years later. The cover is better than the music within.
Oh my fucking life. I don't hate them because I'm an Oasis fan. I hate them because they're shit.
Coldplay? Early Radiohead? Late Oasis? Nope, those are all better than this. And it all comes down to the songwriting. The only redeeming quality about this record in my mind is it’s the album in which Damon developed a lyrical style and musical intention that would allow him to form the Gorillaz, whom would take any day over this mediocre Britpop After listening to it throughout the day is like to punch in the mouth whomever put this on this list. This is the most boring, bland, non-inspirational record. It’s ’fine’ but I absolutely couldn’t gone my whole life without hearing it.
Got bored enough I gave up somewhere around song 4.
This was an actively unpleasant listen. Lyrics intended to just sound silly and mean nothing, music that gives me a headache, and this entire vibe of "cheeky British" that I detest. I have nothing positive to say.
boring
Shite
Hated this. Couldn't even listen to most of it.
1, I don't know why I thought that Blur was supposed to be one of the best
Very loud and scattered all over the place (not in a good way).
Not into it

One good song
I was annoyed with this album. 0.5/5
I like a couple of songs but the rest are rubbish and it’s not my cup of tea
One of the 90’s bands that were, a one hit wonder. Not impressed with there other music.
did not like
I really did not like this album. most of it i found so annoying that I mad to skip. some were nice vibes but the vocals were so bad.
I usually love British pop:punk. I don’t like this. End of the day. Couple songs were okay but that’s it
There was not much I liked about this album.
Yuk. Not my style.
Not for me. Some of the short songs were catchy and sounded like commercial jingles.
More UK rock that I just don’t like. Not the worst album this shit has given me. No more Brit rock please
Diese Musik ist nicht meine.
Hmmm. A few interesting songs, not quite my taste though. (Also sort of skimmed through the album, so not the best rating) Onto the next one !
I really respect a lot of what Damon Albarn has done for the pop-rock industry, but his earlier Blur albums just don't do it for me. Where most of the 90s consisted of American grunge and punk, Blur was just continuing along a weird, cornball saga.
No
Not for me.
idk man, its just really bad
No.
Listened to the first sing and turned it off
Honestly not a very good album. I really didn’t find one song that I thought was decent.
Im a blur hater
Who would’ve guessed that the band that made the hit song song 2 would make an album that sucks
Garbage
Banal. Stop trying to make Blur happen. It's not going to happen. Best track: To the End
shite
Ass
One imagines that Blur saw themselves as chroniclers of the everyday on Parklife, the Kinks of the bold 1990s. However, they fail to rise above their own prurience, resulting in an album that comes across as a sneer of condescension at the lower orders. Add in Damon Albarn's unappealing foghorn voice and you've got a stinker on your hands. Worst live band I've ever witnessed, too.
eh…
My son summed it up well when he asked, "Does this band have any good songs?" It's mostly intensely irritating clown music, with a couple of soppy melodramas. "Girls and Boys" is a definite highlight, but it's downhill from there.
Terrifyingly dull.
Really boring and just not good
Not my style
Not my fav, must not be a Blur fan..
Blech
0couldn't listen through the first two tracks - skipped through, stopped and listened to a couple more tracks but I found nothing that is "must hear".
as English as tuppence, mockney Britpop
I have an instinctive dislike of this record since I was in the North during the Britpop Wars. The singles are fun, although Boys and Girls is impossible to sing along to. Parklife has become so much part of culture that it's hardly a song anymore. On this album, Blur don't really seem to know what they want to be, beyond the novelty singles and the cod chanson it's all a bit forgettable. And don't get me started on the bleated mockney vocals. Ultimately, Mogwai put it best: Blur are shite.
Thumbs down
Unerträglich. Beim 5. Song ausgemacht. 'blur' fand ich ja ganz angenehm, das hier geht gar nicht. Kommt bei mir auch nicht alle Tage vor, dass ich zwei Alben der gleichen Band derartig unterschiedlich bewerte.
Just too much going on. Couldn't get into it.
Couldn't really get into this album ;/
I began to get interested in music around the time this came out (but I was into Oasis at the time). I look back on all britpop with the opposite of nostalgia... so I guess I'm looking through shit-tinted glasses here. It's also hard not to hear a whole generation of vapid indie rock that followed from this. Trying to be objective... it's well-played, and sometimes catchy. There are a few moments of wistful melancholy, which is a true indie staple. But mostly, it's like they've taken the most boring elements of rock, pop, punk and other styles, and mashed them together into soaring anthems of mediocrity, with all the blithe confidence of a New Labour party conference. Might get a 2/5... but it's also 16 tracks / 1 hour long.
Not my cup of tea. I get how they were popular at the time but I couldn’t listen to a single song all the way through.
Badass
