Terrible - just noice.

This album is new to me. Quite surprising, since I like blues - and this really is a great blues album! So 5 stars (despite the fact that there are a couple of weak tracks)!

This was new to me! Interesting, but not really my mind of music. Would characterise it as techno/indie.

Great musician, no doubt, and famous album. Nonetheless: This is an album I will never listen to again. But then again. Funk is not my genre.

Just noise...

Nice and facsinating album! Perhaps it derserves four stars…

OK hard rock, nothing more than that (except for Eruption and their version of You really got me). Sounds very much like the not-best Uriah Heep albums.

Not sure if this album has survived time... But has certainly been important for the development of eclectronic music.

The more I listen to this album, the better it appears. I started with two or three stars the first time I heard it. Now I'm on a strong four. Perhaps it would have been five if I had waited with my rating...

This was really a nice surprise! For some reason I knew nothing about this band (but of course I recognized many of the songs), but this really is music with feeling.

If this album were released by a different band, I would perhaps have considered five start. But I expect so much from the Stones, that I stop on four.

Rap can be great, but not this one!

I think one of the "1001 Albums..." reviewers put it nicely: "All things must pass quality control". This could have been a real masterpiece with some more quality control, including removing some of the weakest songs. As it is, max four stars.

I have never listened to The Stooges before, but wow! This really was something! For instance, listen to Dirt and Listen to the future. Greate!

The Blur have some good albums. This is not one of them.

This was new to me. I'm not very into jazz, but this was a very pleasant surprise!

It was extremely easy to rate this album: since five starts is maximum, five stars it is. Sister Morphine, You Gotta Move, I Got the Blues, Wild horses - just to mention some of the great stuff on this album!

Mick Jagger started to become Mick Jagger already on this album...

Some very weak songs - and some very strong!

With songs like Imagine and Jealous Guy it's simply possible impossible to give anything but five stars.

I have tried to find something here which could justify two stars, but I had to give up.

If they had halved the number of songs, this could have earned 5 stars. But as it is, I got a bit bored at times.

The singing appears at times to be directly false, so false that I was tempted to give 1 star. However, there were some good musical experiences, so I ended up giving it 3 stars.

Some good moments, but this was generally boring.

Absolutely terrible! Though it is impressive to make something to monotone and boring!

Maybe I shouldn't rate this one - I simply don't like country. And in particular not this one...

How many starts? Really difficult to answer… One moment I think that this is quite boring, other moments I think this is really interesting music. I landed on four stars…

This album is overlong. What a pity, because some of the tracks are really masterpieces. But as a whole, I cannot give more than four stars.

I don't quite understand why this album was picked. Kinks contributed a lot to musical development at the time, but perhaps not this one?

Sorry, I found this very boring. Simply not my kind of music, I guess.

I really wonder why this album is on the list! It's got nothing to do with the fact that I find the album boring (there are many albums I dislike and find boring, or whatever, that I still can understand why is included in 1001); I just don't see anything special about this album.

What a pleasant surprise! Didn't expect to like this album, but what a joy! Simply impossible not to end up in a good mood listening to this!

Interesting album, and I can understand why it’s on the list. However, listening to that vibrating voice for such a long time - every song on the album - almost drives me crazy. So I cannot give more than two stars. With more diversity - not least wrt singing - this could have been a good and interesting album.

Everly Brothers made so much good music, given the time period they operated in. They were innovative, and had a great influence on future music. So why did 1001 choose this album???
