Reviews (page 12 of 12)

All starts to sound the same after a while. Not awful. But not sure why it’s on the list. 2.75

Rap crap

A not very special album for the hip hop genre. Very dull and uninspiring flows and beats. More like stodge hop. Jackson 5, Pizzicato 5, Slaughterhouse 5 even MC5 much better. But not Ben Folds Five, they suck as well. Maroon 5? I guess I would have their debut any day over this.

Better than I expected, but not my thing

This is an album that I’ve never heard of before, by a group that I also haven’t ever heard of. I’m not really well versed enough in hip hop to meaningfully articulate what I do and do not like, but largely I think the rapping on this album falls into the latter category. I found it to be boring, I guess. The Big Daddy Kane and Nelly Furtado features were cool, though. Musically I actually enjoyed this record quite a bit, lots of really cool chill and also very funky beats, and some really fun samples. I don’t think this is one that I’ll be going back to anytime soon. 2*

This may be a hot take, but I feel like there's a certain trope in hip hop of like, "oh we're socially conscious, classy, intelligent rappers, we're above all the gangster posturing, we're so old school, we're the last true bearers of soul, we're ascended, one love" and I think it's kinda corny and I really don't care for it (see also: Common, Mos Def). To some this may seem like a silly criticism when I really like groups like A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, or Digable Planets which are not that different, but there's a clear difference to me. Anyway. Jurassic 5 definitely falls into the hella corny side of this divide. There is some really nice sampling on this album. I also liked the reveal at the end of "Remember His Name". But for the most part this album is just soooooooo corny. Sooooo lame. *yawn*

Not my thing but not horrible.

Not my vibe.

Lyrical miracle spiritual - was never going to age well

Verrassend rustgevend?

4/10 They say they aren't a corny ass crew...but... 1-08-2025

This wasn’t for me listened to let it be by the Beatles instead

It's OK. In my opinion better than most hip hop but I'm still not a fan

This was inoffensive, which made a refreshing change in this genre. Maybe because it didn’t hold my attention well enough, for whatever intricacies there were in this, to seep into my consciousness. Well, some old crap like that. I might give it another listen when I'm not as distracted, but it seems unlikely my opinion would change from 'ordinary' to 'wonderful'

not for me

Interesting take on hip hop one of the guys sounded like ll cool j

Quintessential 90s Hip Hop ... just made in the 2000s

After a while tracks just blended into one another.

doesn't really suit my vibe

as with most hip hop albums this leaves me cold. I've heard worse but really doesn't engage me

Not a huge hip hop fan. I do have a soft spot for the early stuff in the 90s. Something about this being 2002 lowers it for me. Idk.

I don’t like it. This could lull me to sleep I spose

Just mediocre, unmemorable, noughties hip-hop. I'd like to include a highlight song to add to my playlist, but I genuinely can't even remember any of the songs.

This just isn’t my favorite genre.

I was so bored listening to this. Sure I can see skill there, but I just didn't care at any point. I can't even remember most times a song switched from one to another.

# 341 : I don't love it, I don't hate it, I can listen to it but the album drags on. This is another album I’ll forget about by tomorrow good background music, nothing distinctive. Way too long for the style.

This got better as it went along, but still not my thing. I liked "I Am Somebody."

Cute. Nothing special really. ‘Vibes-y’ maybe how I would describe it. I don’t know anything about rap but I would’ve thought it came out 10 years before it actually did. I like the phone gimmick.

Not bad, considering I don't like hip hop

Not exactly my favorite album on the list so far.

Not for me

It was okay

Gangster hip hop. Not for me.

Couple tracks that are solid on their own, but a whole album? Harsh. Couldn’t make it through.

An old school rap album, probably the last of its kind before the Kanye/T-Pain rap wave. Hits : What’s Golden

Not a fan of rap, but not as bad as I expected.

deadly hip hop

The album content itself was okay, but didn’t spark mess anything seriously profound. The sound of the album remained pretty much the same

# Album Name: Power in Numbers # Artist: Jurassic 5 # Rating: 2/5 # Comments: Cant say ive heard of these. Sadly, hip hop doesnt strike a chord with me. I thought the songs were quite chilled and had decent melodies/samples like "hey". None of the tracks gripped me though. # Top Tunes: None. # Would I listen to it again? No.

It was ok

Never heard of this band. Not a bad album, but not one I will probably listen to again

not that big hip hop fan

Hip Hop Lite. Another record that one wonders why it's been included on this list. Nothing that Eric B. & Rakim didn't already do years earlier.

Not my favourite, but not offensive.

was ok, but instantly forgettable

Pretty good but not quite my kinda music. High 2.

Not for me. I have gone on about how I feel listening to albums with heavy use of the N word.

not bad but im not a big conscious rap guy

I liked the beat and "Thin Line," but I wasn't a fan of most of the lyrics.

Slitsomt

Hip hop mostly gives me headache. Not bad but it's not for me

old school hip hop always seems a little outdated to me, the production was cool but in terms of an album , it wasn't anything I have never heard before

Not my type of music

Please stop giving me Tom Waits albums.

What a weird choice for this list? Jurassic 5's first album is way better, and this one fell into an over-production trap: it's still bouncy and filled with interesting cadence, but it sounds like what someone might get if they threw "Safe hip hop for parents" into an AI generator.

Ok. Standard j5

I'm sure there's nothing intrinsically wrong with this album - it's just that it's not really my preferred genre. I like a wide range of music / musical styles. This album seemed to have elements of a number of styles - some.of which I like - but just not enough to make it interesting or worth going back to / favouriting (for me)... Maybe it's not aimed at me / I'm too middle aged / white / stuck in my ways - but at least I've listened to it...

I can tell that this book was written in the mid-2000s because no one would include Jurassic 5 in any hip-hop canon unless that list was made at the peak of backpacker rap, aka hip-hop for white kids that felt intellectual but mostly could fit in well with the Tony Hawk Underground and SSX Tricky soundtracks. It’s a “subgenre” that not only feels inherently problematic in retrospect, but also now sounds dauntingly traditionalist in the way it mimics the outdated simplicity of ‘80s rap, allowing it to be annoyingly arrogant about its perceived respect for the genre over Bling/Crunk/Gangsta rap, even though it arguably respects the genre less by insisting hip-hop should never have grown or expanded its sonic palette. But also, god, is it boring as hell to listen to as a result, unless you’re a dweeb who gets offended by curse words or typical gangsta rap topics because it’s “inappropriate.” Jurassic 5 is the quintessential backpacker hip-hop group, and Power in Numbers [along with their previous effort, Quality Control] is a good example of that scene. Not that this is the backpacker masterpiece – sans Madvillainy, that belongs to Deltron 3030, God Loves Ugly, any pre-RTJ El-P effort, or, my personal vote, The Minstrel Show, although that may not even qualify as backpacker rap – but J5 is a good distillation of everything *wrong* with backpacker rap, and showcase why the label was eventually meant to be offensive and a critique of its white fans. This album is a slog and a half, filled with pretension and holier-than-thou subjects mixed with strange, nearly conservative politics, all presented in a stilted way that sounds like it’s being delivered by a 50 year old man with an extensive Kangol collection. The beats are fine, and are the one non-traditionalist element in this whole album, thank god, but unless you physically preoccupy yourself with an activity that prevents you from reaching over and hitting the skip or pause button, I can’t imagine anyone actually listening to these songs by choice unless you’re new to hip-hop and/or were/are a backpacker in 2024 somehow, or one of those Zoomers into “alternative rap.” An unessential listen, and an obviously dated inclusion even within the context of the book.

Catchy beats, however, it is forgettable. With a 56 minute total run time, the album drags on, regardless of the range of six different voices. Loved the track featuring Nelly Furtado. Favourite track: A Day at the Races, Thin Line, Sum of Us

mid boring

I have been a fan of Jurassic 5 since their debut on the scene, but in no way are they an essential band, nor is this an essential album. I don't understand why it is on this list. It's a decent little rap album, but it came and went like a fart in the wind with zero impact or importance. I'm not trying to bash it, I'm just very confused why it is on a list of 1001 "must listen" albums

rap+reaggae+jazz+hiphop, 2002 -> 2

Ooo an album/group I know almost nothing about! I've heard the name, I've heard of Cut Chemist, but I don't know that I ever fully listened to a Jurassic 5 album. My god this is 22 years old. In 2002, emo was about to blow up and take over my ears so I must have missed this. I don't like Chali 2na's voice. It's too much like a radio announcer? It sounds too polished and I think maybe the album in general sounds that way. It was also kind of preachy after awhile. Like it wanted me to be a better person but it was also like look how nice we can rap! I think there were maybe 2 fucks on the whole album? While I appreciate their messages in general, it felt a little too much like Schoolhouse Rock. Not sure how else to describe it. It generally didn't do it for me and that's I guess why I never listened to them much.

Maybe I'm not the best judge of rap/hip-hop, but I don't hear anything special about this. At least it has a message and isn't the mumbling crap that all these lames come out with nowadays. However, it's got nothing on Tupac, Biggie, Nas, Eminem, and a million other guys that can throw together some truly crazy rhyme schemes.

I can’t get into this type of music.

monotonous

Not really my thing. Not a genre I like and though well produced etc...I found it boring and repetitive. One or 2 tracks were OK but on the whole didn't enjoy it

Try hard

Not remarkable musically, and also not significant to me in terms of a particular time of protest, etc., that would give this album staying power.

Found myself bobbing my head several times. Pretty entertaining stuff.

mildly less bad

I was optimistic on this one from all the positive reviews. It was good but but great. I don't feel like hearing this had deepened my world view and understanding of the genre. The previous generation, tribe, digable planets, de la sol, etc, are at least as strong. Less known but more comparable was Boo Yaa Tribe, from a decade earlier. This was a good album but doesn't seem to take the genre further than the decades before. Liked but not love.

ok,, but formulaic.

Excellent rhythm and flow makes this one a lot more interesting and tolerable than most rap albums I've heard so far but it's still not a genre for me. A 2.5/5 from me for this kind of thing is practically a glowing recommendation. It's too long and gets same-y but I didn't dislike it. If I HAD to listen to rap I'd want it to be something like this.

not my vibe too much

It’s fine. But I’m just not a big rap fan.

Didn't really do anything for me

Perfectly listenable album, but on an all-time-essentials list, an oddly pedestrian selection (even inside 2002 alone which saw the release of The Eminem Show, The Blueprint 2, Lord Willin', Fantastic Damage, and Legend of the Liquid Sword). Feels like a choice made by a hip-hop novice. Rating is for its inclusion, not its quality.

Mit HipHop kann ich nichts anfangen ...

I don't like 😡 Dålig gammal hiphop

Catchy, just not a fan of hip-hop.

I didn't really get this at all

It was a fun listen, but not something I'd ever reach for

a pleasant listen but nothing particularly stood out to me

I feel so certain that if I could understand lyrics I would enjoy this album

Best oké maar niet mijn ding, would not buy

Notes from the plane: On the way to Melbourne from Cairns, the Great Barrier Reef was cool but I haven't showered in two days. Did I hear some Aussies at the end of "If You Only Knew"? I think if I had guessed the year this came out without knowing I would've guessed like 1988. It actually came out in 2002. It has a lot of elements of earlier rap though. Smooth non-controversial (mostly) lyrics, multiple rappers playing off of one another, that type of thing. Nelly Furtado shows up at one point though (to sing about being in the friend zone), I kind of forgot about her. It's alright, but I was starting to get bored before it was even halfway over. It's just not something I really want to listen to again, and very little stood out to break the monotony. I also HATE when there are children singing, which they did on "After School Special". "Remember His Name" is actually kind of good, but "his name is death" is a hilarious plot twist line to end it, incredibly cheesy. Just pretty "meh" to me overall, not much here I felt like I needed to hear. On a partial re-listen: Yeah basically nothing has changed, I added a couple of their more famous songs that I overlooked a bit but still "meh". Favorite song: Hey Other: If You Only Knew, Break, Remember His Name, What's Golden 1/23/24

Ok to spin in the background, not for me as a main event

Felt dated.

First album I'm going into with no idea about what it is. From the cover I'm guessing some hip hop. Apparently that's what it is, "If you only knew" comes in with this flute and says 'we only tryin to give you something you ain't used to' which is appropriate for a person like me hearing the album. Not many other songs were relatable. I still don't know what to do with songs that have the N word, but "what's golden" was a grooving tune. If it wasn't evident yet, I'm not familiar with hip hop and the rhymes. Has Gene Simmons been seeing demons? Do swordfish rotate tracks or double back? I'm for sure out of my league 'like Jordan playing baseball' on this one. Favorite track "What's Golden" 2/5

Rap isn't t ever gonna be my preferred genre.

an alright jazz rap album. nothing hit though

too classic rap for me. Has a few gems

I always thought Jurassic 5 were an 80s group, but turns out they released all their albums between 1998 and 2006. It is probably the "hi, my name is Louis, and I'm going to do a rap about this" style that makes me think 80s and is also quite easy to get along with. Safe, accessible, fine, but like a lot of hip hop albums, 20 minutes too long. Rating: 2.5/5 Playlist track: What's Golden Date listened: 18/12/23

Mid and cap

I've heard worse

Jurassic pork

Not for me

I saw J5 in college and have this cd. They put on an exciting live show, but as an album, this is mostly boring beats and cheesy hooks. Scratching my head on how this one found its way on the list. I've always seen these guys as watered down atcq/roots - and this is like their 2nd or 3rd best album - weird.

Much better than I thought it would be. Not really my thing, but at least it was decent listen.

First thought: is this Australian hip hop? *Checks Wikipedia* nope, Jurassic 5 are from LA. "Alternative hip hop". Okay. I can get into that. Think A Tribe Called Quest/De La Soul but with the tempo of a heartbeat. I didn't mind it. It wasn't blown out of the water awesome. Overall: 4/10

Not for me

It was alright, not really my thing

Old school rap

only one likable track: "a day at the races" "i am somebody" almost gets there too

Not that much into hip hop anymore, I'm afraid, depends on the album, and this wasn't quite it.

not my favorite musical genre

what i expected

I really don't quite get it. this is easier than say, Lamar, but yeah idk. not my thing

Meh, just not my style. Coming from someone who loves A Tribe Called Quest.

Not my thing, but can appreciate it would be good if it was

39/100

One listen was enough to remind me that J5 are just mediocre thinking man’s rap. Basically copped the Tribe/De La vibe without be groundbreaking or interesting.

Fine. Scratchy. Ok to listen to but it got a bit dull.

Disgusting raps. Ok let me give two stars for a few nice melodies and speech samples.

OK as it goes.

It’s not their best but enjoyable, wish there was a 2.5

Wasn't bad, but wasn't great. Early 2000ish hip-hop cheesiness is getting to me.

"What's golden" are "I Am Somebody" good

Decent vocal performances, didn’t keep me interested throughout though

Look, I don't think it's that I hate rap. It's just that there's only so many tracks I can hear where the same beat and riff are repeated for ever while a series of blokes go on about how clever and/or hard they are over the top. I know there must be some better hip hop out there but this still isn't it. Yawn. I found myself shifting in my seat to the music though so it's got something!

plain and basic rap

So-so. Probably the wrong genre for me, but I can't really see this album's place in the 'best 1000' list....

Rap. **

It’s alright some songs better than others

This wasn’t a lot of fun to experience

p883. 2002. 2 stars. Hip-hop/rap, so wrong audience. Well done of its type but no redeeming features.

Yeah, no.

Not the worst ever, but I still can’t stand the genre.

Listened Before? N This was ok. It was not what I expected at all. I thought it would be electronica but it's classic-style rap. I didn't mind it but it's not my favorite. Added to library? N Songs added to playlist: What's Golden

It is okay. Not so amazing.

Just okay

Felt like it was the same kind of drum beat for most of the songs. Kinda grooved to a few, then felt like I'm hearing the same track as the album moved along. Can't say I disliked, but nothing I'd upload to my library. Bonus for the song with Nelly Furtado. Something about her voice I dig. 2 for me. Really hoping for something new for me,soon, that makes me feel wow, what have I been missing?

Alright

Dd not listen

Jurassic 5 have never really appealed to me, I think it's the back and forth between multiple rappers that just makes my head spin. They've definitely made some excellent songs but overall this album just all sounds the same to me

not my style...

I quite enjoyed the old skool breaks, but that was about it. This is an album to dance to, rather than to listen to. No bad thing, but perhaps listening through my MacBook on Spotify didn't do it justice.

Early hip hop and drum and beat that hasn’t aged well.

Good beat, but not my style

It's alright, but I just don't get a lot of enjoyment out of hip hop. 2 stars.

2, not great

Wasn't a big fun, had a couple of listenable tracks but nothing great 4/10

I put it on and tuned it out completely while I was working this morning. Nothing resonated, nothing stuck. I know the name Jurassic 5 and I know they had a major hit at some point in the early/mid-2000's but I could not recall for the life of me what it was and I don't think I ever heard it while this album was on. Just a very meh listening experience overall.

Rommelig

Maybe it's a bad day, but I didn't like it too much. There isn't anything particularly bad about the songs, they are just too much the same as any modern hip-hop, but they haven't anything special for me.

was inoffensive but almost offensively so - get me. 2. passed me by.

Some pretty good production and music here but rap just doesn't do it for me. I did manage to make it through about half of this album - some parts sort of OK but couldn't take anotheer 8-9 cuts.

Definitely better than most rap I've ever heard. I listened to 8 full tracks without needing to skip any. That's way ahead of the vast majority of rap albums. Still, I see absolutely no reason to listen to the rest of this. I can't understand why this album is supposed to be particularly relevant (the Wiki article offers no clues) and although it's better than most rap, that doesn't make it good for me.

Run of the mill rap. I hate rap.

this style of rapping is sounding pretty dated now

No me gusta pero es bueno. 2.

i should like this more than i do. its actual hip hop, its rappers with really listenable flow and its not about bitches and hos. its just a bit cheddar. i don't get how this will play out for the list - the self titled album and quality control are both far superior to this cheesy crap so i'd expect them both to be on the list. if this is on the list over the self titled then that would be straight up mental.

2/5 naaah

Not my cup of tea. As most more "old school" rap albums, this one does not click with me

okay hip hop sound.

Not for me.

STERK 2stjerner

Not bad but just not my style

one of the songs said Gene Simmons

great beats and smooth rhymes. Definitely has racial and political underpinnings. One of the best rap albums?

Whatever

a rap album for people who don't like rap. corny, very early 2000s. well produced but sort of uninspired. run time is too long. nothing on it screams "must listen to before you die".

Not a rap fan

Not my vibe

2 - TERRIBLE

Alternative hip hop built from warm soul samples, crisp boom-bap beats, turntablism, and tightly coordinated group vocals feels like watching a team of exceptionally skilled street basketball players effortlessly passing the ball between each other—while I am just watching the ball passed back and forth, occasionally impressed, but never fully understanding why anything matters. For me, the album plays out with that same sense of distance: competent, well-executed, but tactically opaque and emotionally flat, loosing my attention fast.

I gave it another try this time, but no, hip-hop isn't music. What I heard wasn't as bad as other hip-hop albums. But I didn't feel like wasting my time on stuff I don't like. 1/5

really don't like this stuff

Good message. But corny.

Nort for me

Did nothing for me!

A lot of the albums suggested here are middle school albums like intro to music stuff

No llegué a acabarlo.

One song... on an Lp of 17 total? This is a must hear LP?

Not really my type of music.

Not my cup of tea

This is extraordinary. People go into a studio to record this stuff. Then other people pay money to buy or stream it. Then someone decides it's one of the 1,001 albums one should hear before one dies. Nope, beats me.

As Pearl Jam sang on Vitalogy, this is not for you!

Incredibly boring. With albums by People Under the Stairs, Edan, The Streets, and The Roots, 2002 was filled with innovative beats. Power in Numbers pales in comparison.

No. 1/5

Not for me

no me gusta

The T-Rex is not from the Jurassic... Track 6 "A Day At The Races" just dropped this to a 2 star ⭐⭐ just for that wtf. Ok... Its giving a 1 ⭐ that track 14 "One Of Them" has completely ruined this album for me way to many slurs Never recovered 😔

what in the world… another hard listen. 💔 i normally do not like hip hop, but this one especially was just not my cup of tea. i could not even listen to the whole thing—i got to about five songs before i gave up. perhaps it is just not my mood lately, like i just do not want to listen to something like this, and i could not force myself to fully listen. i can understand how people might like it to some extent, but i just was not feeling it. not a bad album or artist—everybody just has a different taste, and this one was not mine. ❤️

This is my second hip hop album in the same day. I probably haven't listened to as many hip hop songs as I listened to one after another today in my entire life, so now I feel like I've experienced a brain trauma. Or at least like millions of my brain cells died. But at the end I started to move my head a little bit, so I guess there's progress.

Not my kind of music, painful...

Jurassic Park 5. No movies. I thought there were no movies here. I can’t watch the dinosaurs. It’s too early. I specially the fifth installment. Do the dinosaurs open a prehistoric human park? That might be an interesting take. Well if it’s not a movie, I genuinely have no idea what this is. I am so incredibly tired today. I believe that in an attempt by the powers that be to monetize every aspect of my life, I have finally succumbed to whatever brain damage has been inadvertently caused by the cheap/addictive ingredients in everything. At least I’ll fade into the static abyss listening to another of “one of the most essential albums to ever be reased.” It’s not a reggae album is it? Oh no. This might just be an intro. Let us pray. Oh it’s a rap album. An entire triceratops worth of relief has washed over me. I mean the radio announcer voice guy needs to hang up the microphone forever, but this song is fine. There he is again. That voice needs to go. It’s not good. Based on these lyrics, I’m worried I’m not mistaken in assuming this crew is indeed one of the “corny-ass” variety. Chorus is bottom 5 of all time. A few of the rappers have good deliveries, but the lyrics are terrible so far. Beat is more what I’m interested in, but we’re in the lyrical miracle zone big time. I don’t know if it’s the brain damage, but this puppy sounds like rap written for a rapper that has a small part in a teen movie. “A Day at the Races” was in something. I don’t know what though. Master Blasters mentioned. Kevin Nash seething. I’m just not getting into this at all. This sounds slightly cooler, but everything feels so generic. Best song so far though. What’s Golden is not a question posed by these young fellas, but rather a statement. The verbal Herman Munster. Alright. I’m done. THIS SUNDAY, A RAP ALBUM SO BAD, COMMON HAS ASKED FOR A FEATURE 14 SEPARATE TIMES. We’ll settle for Nelly Furtado following this dope giving us a “lesson in friendship.” The movie trailer voice is really the issue. Another slog through the most mid rap ever released. Dad’s riffing off of a sugar hill gang beat. Well after another forgettable track/interlude, we get an eerie beat on “One of Them.” Immediately ruined by testosterone supplement commercial man. The other rappers help a little bit, but I think they’re making fun of intimidating rap. Oh my god they’re making fun of guys saying “fuck the police.” Jeeeeeez. Hey. We’re just 5 dads and uncles trying to get you out to a party. The party that’s the place to be, there won’t be guns, but we will be rapping the whole time. Anyway, we are also going to sing THIS song about it and hire a nameless feature to repeatedly whisper “Hey” in the most despicable fashion as we go to the party. So how many tickets can I put you down for. Hey? Hey. I AM somebody ok? This is like that James Brown/Afrika Bambaataa song. PEACE, LOVE, UNITY, AND HAVING FUN. Well we got an elephant sample. No rapping. Best song by a country mile. It’s still a huge sampling mess but hey, no “my mind is minefield where I play Minecraft in a raft, call me shaft. I write lyrics in space, can’t you see my face, I’m winning the race, brace, yourselves for a rockin’ MC a man who’s in the place to be, with me a ha ha ha.” That’s this whole thing. This thing isn’t offensive. To anybody. It does all it can to offend absolutely nobody. I find that in itself to be a grievous offence. I can’t even really put my finger on exactly why it’s so bad. Probably the brain damage. The quotables made me cringe rather than get excited. I mean I do love a good cringe here and there, but this hurts. These lyrics man. Nothing clever. If this came out in 1986, I’d be marvelling at the beat and it would probably be a lot of fun, but two thousand bloody two??? We are almost a decade removed Ready to Die at this point. You guys talk about how rap is bad when they talk about guns and drugs, but those rhymes are a million times better than whatever this is. At least drug rap has clever wordplay and is a reflection of some kind of heavy experience. “Power in Numbers” is an album that is ABOUT writing words that rhyme in a sleep inducing fashion. The power in numbers, hey? Well get ready for a Jurassic 1 (star). 1 HIGHLIGHTS: Acetate Prophets, “One of Them” had a good beat! I wish it was one of the songs they were attempting to criticize.

This is a truly dreadful and boring album.

Certainly not my thing.

Too corny

Absolute shit...again

no me gusta el rap

Just no...

Boring. I favor music over lyrics, and there's no music to speak of.

rubbish

I can understand why there are so many people raving about this album, or about the group. However, I can't share the sentiment... Not a fan. 1*

Great another piece of hip-hop crap. Fantastic another album of songs that all sound exactly the same. Can't tell you much I've been looking forward to that. And what's with the garbage filler that makes it sound like you are listening to an awfull radio-station. What's the point of that besides being extremely annoying. Oh and finally why does Spotify tell me that this is the "Explicit Version" WTF is "Explicit" about the mind-numbingly bland and boring lyrics. Managed to get about halfway through this before I couldn't take it anymore.

No thanks

If you enjoy rap, it ok

Not my thing

Well this album has the dubious distinction of being the first time I have given a 1/5 three times in a row. Well deserved in my view! Only to be surpassed if another 1/5 turns up tomorrow. As I seem to keep on saying this type of music not meant for likes of me so I cannot give a meaningful review. Getting worried now that with all these 1 out of 5’s turning up my streaming and Roon algorithm’s will start thinking I actually like this stuff. Or maybe this is just an April fool and this album will get replaced by a 5/5 classic after 12 noon? (Addit - no such luck!) 1/5 1/4/24

Not to my taste. Though I liked the classical flute

This did nothing for me.

Not my jam in any way

Not for me

Boring and repetitive.

Jazz or rap? Not sure. Like the jazz, not the rap.

I don’t particularly care for rap.

Never heard of this group. Not a fan.

Not for me

1/5 this album came out 20 years too late.

Nah, not my style

I listened to the entire album with an open mind……I still hate rap and hip hop. Not my thing. Too much the same. Fast talking’s the game, but it’s lame, inane, insane, trying to make a name, get fame, but I want none of it, no fun in it, put a gun to it and blow that shit away.

I do not enjoy most rap "music" as there is very limited (if any) musical instrument talent. It's all about the lyrics which tend to be vulgar, degrading to women, very juvenile, and immature.

Ei hyvä

Finally.. the first rap album I've gotten on this thing! and its one that I couldn't really get into.. I definitely appreciate this style of hip hop, a lot of old heads would say its the best and I recognize it for what it is but I just could never really get into the kinda boom-bap sounds. Its just not really my style but I know others would appreciate this and I know its a great album. Overall: 1.6/5

Not really my kind of music

Not good.

Þetta er ekki eitthvað sem mér finnst skemmtilegt. Algjörlega gleymanlegt og snerti mig ekkert.

Not for me.

Interesting music. However, a bit hard to listen to. Not something I would listen to again.

Not keen on rap. Quite jazzy though.

I thought this was pretty good. Originally a four… until about twenty minutes in, where it became a three… so why the 1? ‘One of Them’ is pure homophobia. It’s not satire, it’s complete shit. I shut this absolute nonsense up as soon as I realised.

8 or a 9. Could definitely be a 10 depending on my mood
