Popular Reviews

Olympia 64 by Jacques Brel

A lot of complaints about “too much dadrock” only to give this album 2.5 stars on average 5/5

Fever To Tell by Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Noisy with bad vocal performance. I could live without this album 2/5

Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

Wow, this is excellent. I was not familiar with Nick Cave before I started this project and the first album of his I received was "Ghosteen" which rubbed me the wrong way. This is very good. 4/5

Ill Communication by Beastie Boys

Very good Beastie Boys album. High 4* 4/5

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Apr 14 2024

3 Excellent road trip tune as an opening. Stereotypical rock music with not much experimentation. Tame guitar solo on second tune with the same rock and roadtrip sound. Same sound, solo starts off strong but tapers down. General note is that the lyrics are incomprehensible. Now the guitar shines! With a more ballad-like sound and slower rythm. Smooth track. More roadtrip vibes with fuzzy lyrics. Not that it matters because they sound great. Now experimentation starts with a rythmic synth throughout this more 80s track! First song were lyrics are understandable is about a tv dinner. Synth rythm with great guitar is back. Bad girl has great vocals!

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Apr 15 2024

Little Child Runnin' Wild has an exciting ensemble of instrumentals that feel underused. The strings, trumpet and sax show a lot of promise and are not fully developed (yet?). Pusherman dials these instrumentals further back but adds a very fun drum line. Freddie's Dead comes back stronger but as with all tracks on this record it feels like something, like a solo, is missing. Junkie Chase has amazing instrumentals but is not fully developed as a full song. Give Me Your Love is a nice enough song that sounds like background music (which it is for a movie?). The next songs are nothing special until one of the hits on the album "Superfly". This song is lacking something extra as well but is probably the strongest track on this record. The entire project feels like it was held back by being used for a movie. 3/5

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Apr 16 2024

Mojo Pin is a beautifull crescendo of a song. A perfect album starter. Grace is an even more powerfull crescendo with screams like Led Zeppelin. Last Goodbye is quieter song. Almost an album filler. Lilac Wine is even quieter, but is a very nice ballad-like track. So Real is a double crescendo with a mid-song guitar sound I wish was expanded on. Hallelujah is a beautifull cover of the popular song. Love, You Should Come Over is the strongest track on this record, weaving a beautifull soundscape of a song. On Corpus Christi Carol Jeff shows excellent control of his falsetto voice on this dreamy lullaby. In contrast to the previous track, Eternal Life starts off with howling guitars that made me check if the album had already ended and Spotify started playing random stuff. A nice wake-me-up of a rock song. Dream Brother has oriental inspired guitar sounds that remind me of 60s psych rock (what’s in a name?). Forget Her is what now feels like a typical Jeff Buckley song. A strong ending to the album. 4/5

Gorillaz by Gorillaz
Apr 17 2024

Re-Hash shows signs of the sonic identity of Gorillaz whereas not fully developed. Lyrics are weak too. 5/4 experiments with time signatures in a very interesting way but is vocally weak as well. Tomorrow Comes Today is the first strong tune on this record. New Genius (Brother) is weak. Clint Eastwood is their biggest hit by far on this album and it combines the Gorillaz sound very nicely with rap. It's easy to see why the Gorillaz-style with decent lyricism becomes a hit. Man Research has nice instrumentals ruined by the ya-ya-ya. On Punk they do a punk song very well but infuse it with Gorillaz-elements. Sound Check (Gravity) is sonically very good but with weak lyrics. Double Bass has nice bass. Rock the House again shows the versatility of Gorillaz and how they are comfortable in many styles. 19-2000 is very fun, bubbly (literally) track. Latin Simone (Que Pasa Contigo) is a good track. Starshine manages to weave a spacey-soundscape. Slow Country is good. The instrumentals are as good as any on this album but this track is lyrically stronger. M1 A1 is a strong end to the album. Very strong debut album, shows amazing versatility but some filler songs. 4/5

Apr 18 2024

Rought start to the record that gasn’t held up at all. First decently aged song is Bowtie, with that fun Outkast style. The Way You Move sounds like a 2000s club banger of a club I’d stay far away from. I wish they developed the hushed rap further. Love the maximalist beat on The Rooster. Outkast got on the Rock-Rap train with Bust. I’m not a fan of the genre but this was executed well. War is an amazing song with amazing lyricism. Best song so far, sadly still relevant. Church is an okay song. Gospel addition is good. Tomb of the Boom is very 2000s as well but is not a bad track. Knowing has a dark, gangster beat with good lyricism. Flip Flop Rock has very good Andre 3K lyrics that outshine Jay-Z on this track. Reset is a smooth song with good rap over it. It just is not my style of song. Last Call has Lil Jon screaming all over the 200s beat. Not the best song. Second half of the album has aged better. Love Hater is okay. Happy Valentines Day lacks rap. Spread features better rap and is a better song overall. Interludes are mega cringe. Prototype sounds like music to a porn movie. She Live in my Lap is also not the best. Heya and Roses are so good they give the whole album +1. Literally. Back to mid songs with Behold a Lady. Pink & Blue manages to weave a very pleasing soundscape. Love In War is a decent song as well. She’s Alive is a slower, mellow song, with a weak falsetto. Dracula’s Wedding has a fun and funky beat with good rap in a theme. My Favourite Things speeds up and adds nice drums to the famous song. Very jazzy, amazing song. Take Off Your Cool is an amazing song. I’m loving the experimentation they are doing. Vibrate is a very strong song as well. Albums ends strongly with A Life In The Day Of Benjamin Andre. Not a bad album, first half has aged poorly. Not Oukasts strongest record but some absolute pelters save it. Second half is definitely stronger. 4/5

Dirt by Alice In Chains
Apr 19 2024

Them Bones is a bit droning. Dam That River has the same problem. Droooning Lyyyriiiics. Rain When I Die is the worst culpris (so far?), especially the ending. Down In A Hole combines this horrible sound with slower emo music. Sickman is the same. I am the sickman sick of this. On Rooster even the guitar is infected with lethargy. Angry Chair has a mini guitar solo that is not developed. Finally it is over. I understand that they are decent musicians but this is not my thing. No epic guitars make up for this horrible “singing”. Terrible lyricism. 1/5

Van Halen by Van Halen
Apr 20 2024

Strong opening song in Runnin’ With The Devil. Excellent instrumentals with a nice chorus. Followed by an absolutely mint solo. You Really Got Me is just an amazing track. Ain’t Talking Bout Love is also really strong. I'm the One is a bit weaker in the vocals. Sounds slightly messy. Slightly slower song in Jamie's Cryin'. Still quite good. Atomic Punk still has amazing instrumentals. Feel Your Love Tonight has the same problem as some of these songs on the second half. Somewhat weaker vocally. Little Dreamer is slower again and features a very good guitar riff. Good track. Real pallet cleanser with Ice Cream Man. Unexpectedly fun song! On Fire is on fire! 4/5

Apr 21 2024

Not a fan of the vocal performance on Mother. Hold On is better and has fun instrumentals. Not the best track either. I Found Out is okay. Working Class Hero is an excellent track. Remember is quite fun. Love is unremarkable. Well Well Well is ruined by Yoko Ono-esque screaming. Ending of the album is mid as is the rest. 3/5

Back to Basics by Christina Aguilera
Apr 22 2024

Excellent vocal performance by Christina and it is an easy listen. Not hard to understand why this style was so popular at the time even though it is not my thing. 3/5

The Wildest! by Louis Prima
Apr 23 2024

Amazing and influential album with excellent musicians tearing up their solo’s. Very fun! A few tracks are duds though, holding this album back at times. 4/5

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Apr 24 2024

Influential, experimental and yet angelic. Absolute gem, 5/5.

Moss Side Story by Barry Adamson
Apr 25 2024

Very experimental, at times brilliant and at times hard to listen to. Touches of jazz, blues, even Stravinsky. 3/5

Synchronicity by The Police
Apr 26 2024

The high is high (Every Breath You Take) and the lows are very low (Mother, Miss Gradenko, Tea In The Sahara). One huge hit does not carry this album. 2/5

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Apr 27 2024

Experimentak, excellent album. Jazz, blue, rock and even some hits!

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Apr 28 2024

Dreamy, lovely, excellent music and filled with hits. What more do you want?

Abbey Road by Beatles
Apr 30 2024

One of the albums I give 5 stars before listening to (again).

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
May 01 2024

I never listened to a lot of Black Sabbath, but this was an amazing experience. Listened to it multiple times and enjoyed it a lot. The album also had huge influence on the metal scene. 5/5

Headquarters by The Monkees
May 02 2024

Music is okay, songs are same-y. This album came out in the same year as Sgt. Pepper, so it isn’t very experimental either.

Innervisions by Stevie Wonder
May 03 2024

Not my thing Redux review: I was too harsh on this album, on relistening it is still not my favourite genre but the musicality is there. Upgrading to 3/5

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
May 04 2024

Sticking the name "Radiohead" on something increases expectations massively. I am now using the edit mode to give this 4*, which feels like a better score inside the Radiohead discography. This puts it on par with Amnesiac for example, whereas I will reserve the 5* for OK Computer, Kid A and In Rainbows.

Freak Out! by The Mothers Of Invention
May 05 2024

The project developed some good songs under Zappa’s guidance. Very strong record that also does not take itself serious. 4/5

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
May 06 2024

Only bangers on this experimental record. Smooth music with choirs, strings, the whole orchestra is here for it! 5/5

The Specials by The Specials
May 07 2024

A-side is the studio side, so I am reviewing that. The tracks on this record sound very same-y. Some of them are quite fun, but I feel like this band is a better live experience. Record feels lacking.

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
May 08 2024

A very interesting listening experience that is presented as one single sound with variations. Kate Bush's haunting voice beams over this record as it starts with one of her biggest hits; "Running Up That Hill". This album should definitely be included and is very good, but not in my personal top ~100. Therefore 4/5.

461 Ocean Boulevard by Eric Clapton
May 10 2024

461 Ocean Boulevard by Eric Clapton features everything you'd expect from a Clapton record. I Shot The Sheriff became a hit but this is a cover. I feel that, considering Clapton is one of the best guitar players ever, this album is a bit lacking in that regard. The songs are fun and are a real american road trip vibe, but the album is not the most experimental or guitar-heavy. 3/5

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine
May 12 2024

Experimental, political, filled with bangers from back to front and, to me personally, nostalgic. 5/5

Actually by Pet Shop Boys
May 13 2024

Pretty forgettable, elevator music.

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
May 14 2024

Very good album overall. Sympathy is SUCH an amazing start to an album. Experimental instrumentation really shines!

Inspiration Information by Shuggie Otis
May 15 2024

Having to restart an album multiple times during the day is a bad sign. The beginning of the album sounds like elevator music or being on hold with your health insurance. The ending (last two songs) are stronger but jeez, before you even get there… 1/5

Sweet Baby James by James Taylor
May 16 2024

Easy listen, mellow sound but also not that special.

New York Dolls by New York Dolls
May 17 2024

Excellent album with a huge influence. Very varied instrumentals that create an interesting sound. If only the band could have developed further.

London Calling by The Clash
May 18 2024

Excellent album. Coming back in with the new edit mode to upgrade this to 5*

Smash by The Offspring
May 19 2024

Although this album was a big success for the band, it sounds lacking. A mediocre vocal performance by the lead singer and instrumentals that are not creative. The band surfed the wave of grunge and punk and only took from the genre, not adding to it. Besides this the album is an alright listening experience. 3/5

May 20 2024

Album so good they made a movie about it. Singlehandedly made west coast hip hop huge and defined gangsta rap up untill this day. 5/5

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
May 21 2024

This album is not for me. It was quite boring and I have no interest in returning to it. 2/5

Elephant Mountain by The Youngbloods
May 22 2024

The opening sounded so promising. I was half expecting a folk rock mix album. But alas this was not developed enough. There are some great songs on this album, like Sham, but not enough to make it a top album. 3/5

Ghosteen by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
May 23 2024

When does the music start? 1/5

American Beauty by Grateful Dead
May 24 2024

The album is definitely not as good as some people and critics hype it up to be. 3/5

Movies by Holger Czukay
May 26 2024

On multiple listens the album became somewhat listenable but I cannot shake the thought of a 5-year-old with a soundpad. 2/5

Illmatic by Nas
May 28 2024

I don’t know how to start this shit Nas made the mistake of releasing Illmatic too early in his career. In fact, this being your debut album at 20 is insane. Sometimes artists just catch lightning in a bottle. Absolutely 5/5

The Healer by John Lee Hooker
May 29 2024

What to rate an album that is carried by the guest musicians? The songs where John Lee Hooker plays alone are much weaker. Overall not bad. 3/5

Odessa by Bee Gees
May 30 2024

An unfinished concept album, without concept, that tries really hard to be a Beatles album. 2/5

Joan Armatrading by Joan Armatrading
May 31 2024

The music is nice but it also did not blow my socks off. 3/5

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Jun 01 2024

During multiple listens the album really grew on me. There are really nice songs on this that have a really clear political message as well! 4/5

Songs Of Leonard Cohen by Leonard Cohen
Jun 02 2024

This album has the sound of a chill friday night pub where some bloke is playing excellent music in a corner but noone is paying attention. I might put this on on a slightly hungover sunday brunch. So Long, Marianne is my favourite track of the album. 4/5

Here's Little Richard by Little Richard
Jun 04 2024

This album took me back to the very well designed world of Mafia 2. I would give this album 5 stars for influence but I feel that this sounds more like a “Greatest Hits” album where some songs sound alike a little too much. 4/5

Tapestry by Carole King
Jun 05 2024

Excellent album 4/5

Bug by Dinosaur Jr.
Jun 06 2024

The instrumentals are decent but the vocal performance is horrible. A slight plus of the album is how it slowly lures the listener into accepting more and more noise. It starts off quite tame but at the end, it becomes very noisy. 2/5

The Chronic by Dr. Dre
Jun 08 2024

Hugely influencial project with classic songs. Not exactly my type of hip-hop though. Still hate skits in an album. 4/5

Club Classics Vol. One by Soul II Soul
Jun 09 2024

In my 1-5 star rating system I use 2 stars for music that is not bad, but just not my thing. Therefore 2/5

Gris Gris by Dr. John
Jun 10 2024

Album is very experimental, to the point where making random noises to be “edgy”. Music is good though. 3/5

Dusty In Memphis by Dusty Springfield
Jun 11 2024

I really enjoy Dusty’s music. The only downside to this album is that is just a collection of songs. While that is not bad, concept albums really raised the bar. 4/5

The Undertones by The Undertones
Jun 12 2024

Very enjoyable punk record

Jun 13 2024

I was pleasently surprised when I hit play. With this album cover, title and artist name I was expecting metal, but I was hit with groovy jazz tunes. Albums like this is why I love this website. 4/5

Tommy by The Who
Jun 14 2024

This album really taught me the importance of reading the wiki. Upon first listen I thought it was a Beatles-inspired double album, but it is actually a rock opera! Really made me appreciate the album more. 4/5

Tea for the Tillerman by Cat Stevens
Jun 15 2024

Enjoyable album with two huge hite. Rest is kinda mid. 3/5

Tragic Songs of Life by The Louvin Brothers
Jun 16 2024

The songs sound all the same and the vocal performance is not quite there, very nasal. 2/5

Woodface by Crowded House
Jun 17 2024

Nice album, some boring songs, some hits.

good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar
Jun 18 2024

Ofcourse the comparison to TPAB is made. I do think TPAB is better, therefore a very high 4 stars. 4/5

Buena Vista Social Club by Buena Vista Social Club
Jun 19 2024

Without some silly coincidences, this album never would have been and with that the sound of a country would have been lost. These amazing musicians and their music would have never been saves for us to enjoy. Amazing album front to back. It’s even better with translated lyrics next to it.

Rid Of Me by PJ Harvey
Jun 20 2024

Nice album but some cringe on it.

Cloud Nine by The Temptations
Jun 21 2024

Very solid and groovy album. The songs are a bit same-y and the album is rather short. Enjoyable though. 3/5

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel
Jun 22 2024

Beautifull songs, extremely catchy and an amazing vocal performance. 5/5

Green by R.E.M.
Jun 23 2024

Mid

Happy Sad by Tim Buckley
Jun 24 2024

I got the perfect sunday morning album on a perfect sunny sunday morning. 4/5

Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin
Jun 25 2024

Very good album, I just think Led Zeppelin has even better ones. 4/5

Tanto Tempo by Bebel Gilberto
Jun 26 2024

Solid bossa nova record. I love getting international stuff. 4/5

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen
Jun 27 2024

Second Cohen album and this one is weaker than the first. The album does not really get going. The instrumentals are very good but I feel like Leonard Cohan is breathing, not singing, into my brain. 3/5

Slippery When Wet by Bon Jovi
Jun 29 2024

This album is both very mid and huge. Songs are super famous and everybody knows them, but the quality is not the highest. No experiments, just safe pop metal music. 3/5

Ys by Joanna Newsom
Jun 30 2024

That was a very interesting experience! Very nice music and lyricism. Only dislike is the timbre of her voice. 4/5

Jul 01 2024

Edgy 2010s hipster music with edgy spelling. They even dare to say “fuck”. Album has not aged well. 2/5

With The Beatles by Beatles
Jul 02 2024

Solid Beatles album from before their more experimental projects. 4/5

A Girl Called Dusty by Dusty Springfield
Jul 03 2024

Second Dusty album. I feel like “Dusty in Memphis” is better but this album is nice as well. 4/5

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Jul 04 2024

Second Simon and Garfunkel album. This one is not as good as Bridge but shows signs of their greatness. 4/5

Heartbreaker by Ryan Adams
Jul 05 2024

Album os pretty mid. Never heard of Ryan Adams and will not be returning. 2/5

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Jul 06 2024

Very nice album with howling solo’s. 4/5

Architecture And Morality by Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
Jul 08 2024

The first song is SUCH a banger that it makes me sad the rest of the album is not more like it. 3/5

Safe As Milk by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Jul 10 2024

Wacky album with blues and rock inspirations. Not as unhinged as trout mask yet. 4/5

Different Class by Pulp
Jul 11 2024

The tracks are fun but forgettable like one of those cooking videos. I will not return to this record. 3/5

Jul 12 2024

I understand what they were trying to do. A lot of rythm switches and experimental time signatures, but it also has to sound good. 3/5

Yeezus by Kanye West
Jul 14 2024

Amazing album that still sounds futuristic! Hugely influential, sparking a new genre! 5/5

Jul 15 2024

I understand what they were trying to do. A lot of rythm switches and experimental time signatures, but it also has to sound good. 3/5

My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello
Jul 16 2024

I understand what they were trying to do. A lot of rythm switches and experimental time signatures, but it also has to sound good. 3/5

Jul 17 2024

Not my usual thing but I cannot give it a 1. I understand this albums place in music. 2/5

Henry's Dream by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jul 18 2024

So much better than Ghosteen. 4/5

Eagles by Eagles
Jul 19 2024

I understand what they were trying to do. A lot of rythm switches and experimental time signatures, but it also has to sound good. 3/5

Parallel Lines by Blondie
Jul 20 2024

Really good pop album! Not all songs bang as much as Blondie’s biggest hits off this record, therefore 4/5.

Jul 21 2024

You can really tell it is music for a movie. I was missing sonething in every song. 3/5

The Clash by The Clash
Jul 23 2024

I regret giving London Calling only 4/5 and this should be lower. But it’s still 4/5 for me.

Wild Wood by Paul Weller
Jul 26 2024

Pretty mid, though enjoyable. 3/5

Moon Safari by Air
Jul 27 2024

Really enjoyed this! A lot better than the previous Air album I got. 4/5

The United States Of America by The United States Of America
Jul 28 2024

This is what you get when you turn psychedelia up to 11. Very good album with just one downside: it is a bit incoherent. 4/5

Talking Book by Stevie Wonder
Jul 30 2024

Not my favourite style, but still some bangers on this album. 3/5

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Jul 31 2024

Decent album with one huge hit. Enjoyable listening experience

Be by Common
Aug 01 2024

Very refreshing to get some hip hop. Produced by a prime Kanye and decent rap. 4/5

A Northern Soul by The Verve
Aug 02 2024

Really enjoyed this album! I will have to return to the 3 hour deluxe version some other time, but this album sounds like more. 4/5

All Things Must Pass by George Harrison
Aug 03 2024

Probably the best solo album to come out of the Beatles. 4/5

Medúlla by Björk
Aug 04 2024

I know Bjork gets hyped up by music fans but this ain’t it.

Ellington at Newport by Duke Ellington
Aug 06 2024

Makes me wish I was there. Amazing musicians! Using the edit mode to give this 4* which is a better score in the grand scheme of things.

Real Life by Magazine
Aug 07 2024

Okay album

The Rise & Fall by Madness
Aug 08 2024

Huge hit in Our House. They added like 5 versions of this song to the album. The rest of the songs sound very similar. Okay listen but will not return. 3/5

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Aug 10 2024

Very good jazz album. Loved the theme. 4/5

Cafe Bleu by The Style Council
Aug 11 2024

It’s quite fun listen but stays very safe.

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Aug 13 2024

Very nice album, kinda punky/grungy.

Sincere by Mj Cole
Aug 14 2024

Some Ibiza-type club music after a lot of rock and blues. There was some variation in the songs but overall it felt a bit long.

Melody A.M. by Röyksopp
Aug 16 2024

Music for a spy thriller, enjoyable though. 3/5

Paul Simon by Paul Simon
Aug 17 2024

Excellent album. Paul Simon is great.

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
Aug 18 2024

Very enjoyable. I'm always a big fan of live albums that are this good. 4/5

Psychocandy by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Aug 19 2024

That was decent enough. A lot of big sounds from the guitar and distortion. Reminds me of a tuned up Joy Division. 3/5

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
Aug 20 2024

Oof, in the way I listened to this album, that is, catching up after a vacation, this came in RAW. I do not dislike it but I will probably not return to it.

The Beach Boys Today! by The Beach Boys
Aug 21 2024

This album is a lot weaker than Pet Sounds. Very decent but boring poppy music for girls to scream to. 3/5

Elvis Is Back by Elvis Presley
Aug 22 2024

Not his strongest record. Some covers and all that. 3/5

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Aug 24 2024

Really enjoyed this! Very good. 4/5

Vento De Maio by Elis Regina
Aug 25 2024

Very fun album! Not something I would find on my own, but similarly something I will probably not return to. 3/5

The Hissing Of Summer Lawns by Joni Mitchell
Aug 26 2024

This album had some nice songs but most of them were quite boring to me. Not my thing. 2/5

May 10 2025

As a review from 2021 put it; Classic. Sadly, he’s crazy now If only they knew how bad it would get. The same man who created one of my favourite albums of all time is now a swastika touting twat, to the point I rarely return to his older work. That is a real shame, because I love MBDTF and TLOP. Achtung Baby by U2
Jun 19 2025

Quite generic U2 album. One nice song and the rest okay. 3/5

Rock Bottom by Robert Wyatt
Jun 20 2025

You can tell it is made and produced by drummers. There seems to be a lack of melody where the songs are merely a collection of rythms. +1 for the novelty I guess 2/5

All Mod Cons by The Jam
Jun 21 2025

About as British as it gets. I was unfamiliar with them and I’m glad I discovered them. 4/5

If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears by The Mamas & The Papas

Amazong voice, but the songs do blend in a little. 4/5

Metal Box by Public Image Ltd.
Jun 26 2025

Eh not my thing 2/5

Jun 27 2025

TV On The Radio has a unique sound. The album starts off with a low static drumming sound. This style returns several times on the album but I feel it is never developed to the full potential. Decent listen but some songs are lacking. 3/5

Stephen Stills by Stephen Stills
Jun 28 2025

I’m on a bit of a roll with “okay” albums. I don’t hate that de website recommended them to me, but to say they are absolute must hears - no. Stills and his other work with Crosby & co. is always pleasant on the ear and this album is no different. Just a good folky rocky record, with not too many standouts. 3/5

Kings Of The Wild Frontier by Adam & The Ants
Jun 29 2025

Wacky stuff, not very good but entrancing at times. Just about mid because it stands out 3/5

Is This It by The Strokes
Jul 01 2025

Wiffs of velvet underground and joy division, what an amazing debut album to skyrocket to fame with… Features very highly on “music connoisseurs” list and in many topster but never got further than a few of their hits. Even though the song structure is not always very complex and the album is only 35 mins long, this was an amazing listening experience. The music that “liberated” millenials. Absolute banger 5/5

The Yes Album by Yes
Jul 02 2025

They try some experimental stuff that does feel very after the fact. They attempt some dreamlike socal hippie songs but are too late for the summer of love. 3/5

Jul 06 2025

Oof, this has not really aged well… but a lot of the music I love would not exist without this. 4* on account of the influence. 4/5

Blunderbuss by Jack White
Jul 07 2025

It’s a decent rock record but it is also forgettable. 3/5

Berlin by Lou Reed
Jul 08 2025

The music is by no means bad, but is not a stand-out album either. Just some good tunes with an oddity mixed in here and there. Looking forward to Transformer 3/5

Os Mutantes by Os Mutantes
Jul 09 2025

This album is just “out there” enough to remain interesting. Though I feel they are trying too hard sometimes, it is overall an enjoyable listen. 3/5

Technique by New Order
Jul 10 2025

Decent synth-pop dance record. Not much more to say. 3/5

Your Arsenal by Morrissey
Jul 11 2025

The music is okay, I hear he is a cunt but I don't really know his personal stuff. 3/5

Mott by Mott The Hoople
Jul 12 2025

Decent album 3/5

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
Jul 13 2025

Another okay album. Nothing too crazy… 3/5

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós
Jul 14 2025

Banger. They weave musical dreamscapes. Not understanding the language really helps in appreciating the music more abstractly. 5/5

Sunshine Hit Me by The Bees
Jul 16 2025

Really quite forgettable and I am unsure of its place on the list 2/5

That's The Way Of The World by Earth, Wind & Fire
Jul 17 2025

It’s a decent disco album. I feel they have better music out there. 3/5

Guero by Beck
Jul 18 2025

Ecclectic mix of styles that meanders everywhere, yet goes nowhere. Nothing really stands out and I will probably forget this album soon. The songs themselves are not horrible. 3/5

The Coral by The Coral
Jul 19 2025

Yeah it’s not groundbreaking, but it’s an ecclectic mix of music that did quite well on a friday afternoon on the beach. 3/5

Trio by Dolly Parton
Jul 20 2025

I thank the generator for giving me something outside of my comfort zone, but this was not for me. The vocal harmonies of these three singers are very good though, I am just not a country fan. 3 stars on account of the vocals. 3/5

Another Green World by Brian Eno
Jul 21 2025

I guess the music is revolutionary, I wasn’t alive to witness it. The music doesn’t really stand on its own and it feels like they are being experimental for the sake of it… 3/5

Mr. Tambourine Man by The Byrds
Jul 22 2025

It’s a decent, dreamy, 60’s album. The unique sound of The Byrds with their dual voices of which one is falsetto was born. 3/5

The Man Who by Travis
Jul 23 2025

Weird how the secret song at the end of the album is probably the best song. Very bland and background musicy. 2/5 could’ve done without

Scissor Sisters by Scissor Sisters
Jul 24 2025

The falsetto does get old rather quickly. Without that quirk, not a lot is ledt. Ironically the extra songs on the UK album are better than the album itself. 2/5

Sheet Music by 10cc
Jul 25 2025

That was an okay experience. Album is all over the place. 3/5

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
Jul 28 2025

Amazing album with a sad story. The music is really good and I thank the algorithm for giving me this. A very high 4 stars and if I find myself returning to the album, I will come back to give it 5*. 4/5

Blackstar by David Bowie
Jul 29 2025

RIP Bowie, you went out with a banger 4/5

Street Signs by Ozomatli
Jul 30 2025

A score below 3 is not deserved for this. Too many "not on spotify" reviews. Like, yeah of course I would rather listen to the studio version than to a drum cover version on youtube. The music is fun but not groundbreaking and some songs are lacking. Overall very good 4/5

Gentlemen by The Afghan Whigs
Jul 31 2025

One of these “not really a must listen”. 3/5

Idlewild by Everything But The Girl
Aug 02 2025

Last dance at the high school prom type music 2/5

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
Aug 03 2025

Absolute banger! It formed a generation of angsty girls. Decade-defining. 4/5

Picture Book by Simply Red
Aug 04 2025

Started off interesting and dropped off quite a lot. 2/5

The Poet by Bobby Womack
Aug 05 2025

Banger! Whirling music fron to back 4/5

Aug 06 2025

A very raw and industrial record. I wouldn't have found this on my own, so that's what the list is for! 3/5

Brothers by The Black Keys
Aug 07 2025

Featured in playlists such as "Music to walk like a badass to" 3/5

Grievous Angel by Gram Parsons
Aug 08 2025

By no means bad, just not for me 3/5

Devil Without A Cause by Kid Rock
Aug 12 2025

I always knew this would happen someday and I was quite prejudiced towards this album, but it really is that bad. 1/5

1999 by Prince
Aug 14 2025

There is some nice experimentation on this album and it's overall not bad. Enjoyable listen. 3/5

Sail Away by Randy Newman
Aug 15 2025

The music is fine and has a jazzy sound to it. Vocals are decent as well. A nice album that doesn't stand out too much. 3/5

Talking Heads 77 by Talking Heads
Aug 16 2025

An excellent debut album for the Talking Heads. This band never had the strongest vocals and that becomes evident on this album as well. I feel like on later projects they figured out how to hide this flaw better, almost using the vocals as percussion. You can definitely hear some of the Punk influences while adding that New Wave synth sound on top. 4/5

C'est Chic by CHIC
Aug 17 2025

Good instrumentals and good vocals. What more do you want? Interesting how their weakest song intrumentally became their biggest hit: Le Freak. The follow up song, Savoir Faire, is a lot more interesting. I like the tubular bells on I Want Your Love. Overall very good! 4/5

After The Gold Rush by Neil Young
Aug 18 2025

Quite enjoyable! I love the small parts of brass instruments. Not a fan of his vocals though. 4/5

Fromohio by fIREHOSE
Aug 19 2025

The album features some nice instrumentals, vocals are slightly lacking. Overall, not bad. I would not have found this on my own but will not return to it. 3/5

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
Aug 20 2025

Another album that got a visceral reaction out of me when it came out of the algorithm. Thanks for making me listen to this again. 5/5 Ooh now I get why I got it today :(

Tres Hombres by ZZ Top
Aug 21 2025

Separate the art from the artist. The whole aesthetic is very cringe to me, but the music is good. Who cares, I listen to them so I didn’t have to see them. There is a lul in the quality, album goes up and down. 3/5

Yank Crime by Drive Like Jehu
Aug 22 2025

Energetic and raw. Music for a mood, not my usual mood though. Allright for a while but went on too long. 3/5

Sunshine Superman by Donovan
Aug 23 2025

Excellent psych rock album. Season of the Witch is a huge banger of course. Weaves amazong soundscapes while alluding to Hades, Arthur and other esoterics. Very enjoyable! 4/5

Parklife by Blur
Aug 24 2025

It was okay 3/5

Mask by Bauhaus
Aug 25 2025

Decent 80’s album. I hear some Joy Division through it all. Instrumentals are good and all over the place. 4/5

Nothing's Shocking by Jane's Addiction
Aug 26 2025

Instrumentally good, vocally weak. There is a certain energy to it all though, not bad. 3/5

The Cars by The Cars
Aug 27 2025

Fun but forgettable, not too many things that stand out or shock 3/5

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson
Aug 28 2025

I have the sneaking suspicion this whole album was included because of “Without You”… and rightly so! What a banger. The rest of the album is good as well. 4/5

Suicide by Suicide
Aug 29 2025

Quite a futuristic sound for 1977. Not all songs on the album are strong, "Girl" had vocals that are too moany. Incoherent shouting on "Frankie Teardrop", really wastes a decent instrumental. Overall not bad. 3/5

Aug 30 2025

My first exposure to Korn was a collab with Notorious BIG of all people. I hated it. Now I get to listen to over an hour of it. It's for edgy teens who do poorly in school. Any high reviews are of those edgy teens that are now adults. It really is horrible. 1/5

Penthouse And Pavement by Heaven 17
Aug 31 2025

The song eponymous with the album is the stand-out song. Rest is mid. 3/5

Colour By Numbers by Culture Club
Sep 01 2025

For me, the question that always arises with these albums is if the huge hit song on it merits its inclusion. In this case, probably yes, as this style had its moment and influence. As an album, it's okay. 3/5

S&M by Metallica
Sep 02 2025

It's an interesting idea, combining metal with a symphony orchestra, but my god does it drag on. I really think it would be improved when cut back to 1 cd. 3/5

Kenya by Machito
Sep 03 2025

Yes! Exactly what I use this project for! Hugely influential and a joy to listen to. 4/5

Miriam Makeba by Miriam Makeba
Sep 04 2025

Christ the generetor is on fire. The Afro-Cuban album “Kenya” yesterday and today it’s straight to Africa with Miriam Makeba. As said yesterday; this is what the generator is for. Lovely album. “One More Dance” is a very weird song though… 4/5

Life Thru A Lens by Robbie Williams
Sep 05 2025

That was okay. Robbie Williams was huge in Europe and I was surprised he wasn’t as well-known in the States. There are some huge hits here but overall it’s just okay. 3/5

Armed Forces by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Sep 06 2025

More Costello. It wouldn't be as bad if this was the first album, but why is he so overrepresented on this list. This is another utterly forgettable album which I will never return to. 2/5

Hejira by Joni Mitchell
Sep 07 2025

Enjoyed this way more than the previous Joni album. 4/5

World Clique by Deee-Lite
Sep 08 2025

That was an unexpectedly nice and groovy album! Quite enjoyed that! 4/5

Fear Of A Black Planet by Public Enemy
Sep 10 2025

Very sample driven, to the point of sounding messy. Not nearly as good as Nation of Millions. 3/5

Youth And Young Manhood by Kings of Leon
Sep 11 2025

Decent album, some crunchy guitars and a squeaky voice. I wonder how his voice lasted this long, perhaps he did learn to sing at some point. 3/5

Talk Talk Talk by The Psychedelic Furs
Sep 12 2025

Decent 80s album. 3/5

Giant Steps by The Boo Radleys
Sep 13 2025

Actually quite enjoyable if a bit on the long side. I hear some elements of later bands (Radiohead, MBV) 4/5

Sulk by The Associates
Sep 14 2025

Quite a forgettable record. Not sure about its placement. 2/5

Basket of Light by Pentangle
Sep 15 2025

Decent folk album. Started not good and picked up from there 3/5

Phrenology by The Roots
Sep 16 2025

Amazong hip hop album. Way ahead of its time! Thoroughly enjoyed this. I was already a fan of The Roots, Black Thought specifically, and this just cemented that. 4/5

Tarkus by Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Sep 17 2025

Just trying to be psychedelic for the sake of it. Not really good or enjoyable. 2/5

Phaedra by Tangerine Dream
Sep 19 2025

Incomplete version on spotify… what I did hear was not very good… 2/5

Off The Wall by Michael Jackson
Sep 20 2025

Excellent album, though not as strong as “Thriller”. If Thriller is a high 4*, I feel this is a low 4* 4/5

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
Sep 21 2025

Enjoyable en quite influential in the early 2000's. A bit repetitive musically but a good listening experience. 4/5

Forever Changes by Love
Sep 22 2025

Excellent psych-rock album. Really quit enjoyed this. I was familiar with some tracks but never listened to the whole album. 5/5

American Pie by Don McLean
Sep 23 2025

A nice singer-songwritery album full of americana. 38 minutes of chill tunes. 4/5

The Modern Dance by Pere Ubu
Sep 24 2025

Wow that is some opening… The first two songs are instrumentally identical with bad vocals. Then the ear rape continues on “Laughing”. I am not laughing. No redeeming qualities on this album and very hard to finish. 1/5

Being There by Wilco
Sep 26 2025

Lovely, dreamy album. Yes it’s long and some of it sounds similar, but still, very nice. It does fade into the background though. 3/5

Green Onions by Booker T. & The MG's
Sep 27 2025

Decent album, it is just a jam sessions of which one became a huge hit. 3/5

Mama's Gun by Erykah Badu
Sep 28 2025

Decent album, musically good. I just never got into the R&B sound. 3/5 not for me I guess

The album comes in raw and unlubed. If you get past the initial friction you can actually start to somewhat enjoy it. 3/5 no i won't return to it

69 Love Songs by The Magnetic Fields
Sep 30 2025

Oh god it finally happened to me. So he set out to write 100 love songs but got stuck at 69. Honestly I wish he limited himself to a lower number. Just writing funny number amount of songs for the sake of it, is not good. The songs that do stand out could be condensed to a 4 or 5 star album. For now 3/5

Let's Stay Together by Al Green
Oct 01 2025

Lovely album, very good instrumentals and nice vocals 4/5

Street Life by The Crusaders
Oct 03 2025

Coles Corner by Richard Hawley
Oct 06 2025

Oct 12 2025

Decent album, banger in Come On Eileen.

In The Wee Small Hours by Frank Sinatra
Oct 13 2025

Suede by Suede
Oct 15 2025

Decent album 3/5

Hypnotised by The Undertones
Oct 16 2025

Yeah it's okay, nothing horrible but fades into the background 3/5

Oct 18 2025

Meh this was too slow and brooding for me 2/5

Traffic by Traffic
Oct 21 2025

Decently enjoyable album 3/5

Histoire De Melody Nelson by Serge Gainsbourg
Oct 22 2025

Instrumentals are very interesting but the french bloke wispering in my ear does get tiring. 3/5

Public Image: First Issue by Public Image Ltd.
Oct 24 2025

It was allright. Musically was marginally better than the vocals, which were bad. 2/5

Slipknot by Slipknot
Oct 25 2025

Physically cringed when I pulled this. Physically cringed when I listened to it. 2/5

Bluesbreakers by John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers
Oct 26 2025

This is very good. I expected nothing less from Clapton. High 4*

Boy In Da Corner by Dizzee Rascal
Oct 27 2025

This was supposed be right up my alley. I like rap and I think grime is very undervalued... but this is just not that good of an album. 3/5

Raw Like Sushi by Neneh Cherry
Oct 28 2025

This R&B is not for me. Not bad music to say but not my thing. 2/5

Alien Lanes by Guided By Voices
Oct 29 2025

Like leaving the radio on while in a dream.

Yeah it's good... but the songs are already good. There are better albums, heck, there's even better live albums. 3/5

Boston by Boston
Nov 01 2025

Actually quite enjoyed this! High on the americana-score but very good. 4/5

Wonderful Rainbow by Lightning Bolt
Nov 02 2025

Almost couldn't finish this, very rough listen. Not good en never return. 2/5

Scream, Dracula, Scream by Rocket From The Crypt
Nov 05 2025

This album pretends to be a high-octane energy album but falls short. 2/5

The Predator by Ice Cube
Nov 06 2025

Decent album, "It Was A Good Day" is a banger. Leans heavily on (un)sampled interviews as skits, which, regardless of message, distracts. 3/5

Cypress Hill by Cypress Hill
Nov 07 2025

Black Sunday would have been a better inclusion. The lyrics are never very strong with Cypress Hill (haha weed, get it?) but at least that album is catchier and better production. 3/5

New Forms by Roni Size
Nov 08 2025

Really loved this! Right up my DnB alley. 5/5

Pearl by Janis Joplin
Nov 09 2025

That was actually quite decent, if a bit shouty. 4/5

Nov 10 2025

A decent rap album, not really a standout but nice to hear from the Wu. 3/5

Screamadelica by Primal Scream
Nov 11 2025

Eh it's okay. Very forgettable but a nice enough listen. 3/5

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Nov 13 2025

So I gave "Elephant" a 3 and this is worse... Scraping through to another 3, but barely. 3/5

Dub Housing by Pere Ubu
Nov 14 2025

Yeah this is not very good. Too much gibberish 2/5

The Hour Of Bewilderbeast by Badly Drawn Boy

Liquid Swords by GZA
Nov 16 2025

A very good album. Shadowboxin’ is an amazing song. Very high 4*

Liege And Lief by Fairport Convention
Nov 17 2025

Legendary sunday morning album pull. Went on a nature walk with this album and it was an amazing experience. Might return for the 5th star but for now high 4*/5

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
Nov 19 2025

It's nice if a bit short. If you remove all the talking you are left with very little music. It's cool that it's in a jail but if you'd have paid for 20 minutes then you'd feel miffed. 3/5

Floodland by Sisters Of Mercy
Nov 20 2025

Decent dark and broody album 3/5

Dec 18 2025

This album is again confirmation that popularity =/= quality. 3/4

Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Dec 25 2025

Excellent singer-songwriter album 4/5

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Dec 26 2025

The Beatles are always good, which onr is your favourite is a matter of taste. This is not my favourite therefore 4/5

Dec 27 2025

Oof, spotify serves you a 2,5 hour version and safe to say I was very relieved that the album generator links to a 30 minute version. 2/5

Here, My Dear by Marvin Gaye
Dec 28 2025

I can tell it’s good. I can also tell it’s not for me 3/5

Quite enjoyed this! 4/5

Moby Grape by Moby Grape
Jan 16 2026

That was allright, not a standout and I feel there was better stuff out there by 1967. 3/5

Underwater Moonlight by The Soft Boys
Jan 17 2026

I listened to the 45th anniversary remaster, which is in line with the original A/B-side track listing on wikipedia. This makes the album more concise and cohesive and is preferable over the expansive 2,5 hour extended edition. Overall quite good, instrumentals and vocals good, just not quite as gripping. 3/5

Exile In Guyville by Liz Phair
Jan 18 2026

This is ass Bad vocals and just some guitar strumming accompanying? If it's some cool response to something, it could've just as well been good music. 1/5

Jan 19 2026

Not as strong as their other project "Hot Shots II" but still quite good. 4/5

Feb 08 2026

Stronger than the previous record of them I got here. Very heavily Joy Division and even Bowie-coded. Enjoyed a lot 4/5

The Gershwin Songbook by Ella Fitzgerald
Feb 09 2026

*Idea* Perhaps the generator needs some kind of mechanic to roll long albums on a day you pick, think road trip, flight etc. Right so this finally happened to me. I feel like this album is undervalued because of its length. I listened to it on a lazy sunday, on a walk and just lounging. If I got it on a busy workday I wouldn't have had the time. Even on my lazy sunday I didn't listen to the whole album in one sitting, but divided it between the CD's as labeled in Spotify. Does that really count as one album then? Not really sure. The music itself is amazing though and well worth the time! 4/5 Not 5/5 because it's not really one album.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Feb 10 2026

Tusk is an ambitious but uneven follow-up to Rumours, trading that album’s dreamy cohesion for a more fragmented, experimental approach. While its risk-taking and variety are admirable, the stripped-back production and stylistic shifts disrupt the emotional flow, making it feel less immersive and less unified. There are strong moments, but as a whole it lacks the atmosphere and consistency that made Rumours so compelling 3/5

Let's Get Killed by David Holmes
Feb 11 2026

Let’s Get Killed has atmosphere to spare, but it often feels more like a collection of sketches than a fully realized album. David Holmes prioritizes mood and cinematic drift over structure, leaving many tracks underproduced and unresolved. While the raw, lo-fi approach fits the album’s late-night LA concept, it lacks the density and commitment that make more maximalist electronic records hit hard. Interesting as a transitional, scene-setting work—but frustrating if you’re looking for impact or payoff. 3/5

Feb 12 2026

A warm, well-crafted album that’s easy to appreciate but hard to remember. The atmosphere is cohesive and sincere, and tracks like “Grounds for Divorce” and “One Day Like This” stand out, but much of the record sits in a similar mid-tempo, reflective space. Admirable in craft, yet lacking truly memorable moments. 3/5

Truth by Jeff Beck
Feb 13 2026

Yeah the guitar is very crunchy and quite good but overall songwriting falls a bit flat. Signified by the number of covers that feel more like a starting to point to have some fun on the guitar. 3/5

Feb 14 2026

Excellent big-sound band that would do well on a festival set of speakers. I think that is the best way to listen to them, sadly I do not have these speakers at home. Overall it sounds very good, very well produced but there is a slight quality lacking. Is it innovation or songwriting? Not sure. Enjoyed it though. 4/5

The Blueprint by JAY Z
Feb 15 2026

That was not very special, coming from a hip hop fan. I know the hiphop and rap albums are underrated on this site but this one feels accurately rated for a change. 3/5

Germfree Adolescents by X-Ray Spex
Feb 17 2026

Noisy (duh its punk) and bad vocals. Did not enjoy. 2/5

Mermaid Avenue by Billy Bragg
Feb 19 2026

Not sure but this is utterly forgettable to me. Nice but one of those "did I listen to this"? 3/5

Feb 20 2026

Only listened to the original tracklist or CD1. I think it subconsciously says a lot I did not want to listen to another hour of this, even if it wasn't that bad. 3/5

Dr. Octagonecologyst by Dr. Octagon
Feb 21 2026

It's... not very good. Beats are okay if a bit flat. The horrorcore rap is not enjoyable to me at all. What is the point? MF Doom did characters way better and he is not even on this list. 2/5

Astral Weeks by Van Morrison
Feb 22 2026

Why is there so much sing-talking? And not in a way like Slint’s Spiderland. Utterly forgettable 2/5

The Soft Bulletin by The Flaming Lips
Feb 23 2026

Instrumentally very good, vocally not so. It will be sold as "emotional" and "real" but meh. Still enjoyable 4/5

Feb 25 2026

Musically very enjoyable, but what is the deal with horrible vocals on indie records? 3/5

A Walk Across The Rooftops by The Blue Nile
Feb 26 2026

Quite forgettable, not really a standout. Not horrible to listen to either. 3/5

Autobahn by Kraftwerk
Feb 27 2026

Quite enjoyed that, they did manage to capture a nightly german autobahn drive. 3/5

Blue by Joni Mitchell
Feb 28 2026

Very good, enjoyable album 4/5

Two Dancers by Wild Beasts
Mar 01 2026

Some songs do not flow as well as others. There are a couple of decent songs on here. Overall nice. 3/5

Fred Neil by Fred Neil
Mar 02 2026

Decent country-folky album Not that rememberable 3/5

Bright Flight by Silver Jews
Mar 03 2026

It was not very good. Again, Indie-artists are just singing badly. Sometimes it makes sense, like Neutral Milk Hotel but this time it was just bad. 2/5

Dookie by Green Day
Mar 04 2026

Never got into green day much, but this was quite good. 4/5

Heaux Tales by Jazmine Sullivan
Mar 05 2026

“I have sex” 1/5

Mar 07 2026

There is definitely a huge Beatle-influence here. Somewhat enjoyed it 3/5

Mar 08 2026

It’s blandly enjoyable. An album that makes me think: it’s better than silence. Not sure if this is the best Simple Minds album to include. Would “Once Upon a Time” be better? 3/5

Planet Rock: The Album by Afrika Bambaataa
Mar 09 2026

Sure it’s very important and groundbreaking for its time, but so are the Beatles, whose music I do enjoy today. Hasn’t aged very well 2/5

The Boatman's Call by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Mar 10 2026

A nice palette cleanser after a rough stretch. 3/5

Guitar Town by Steve Earle
Mar 11 2026

That was somewhat enjoyable though forgettable. For me, not a must-listen or stand-out. 3/5

Ingenue by k.d. lang
Mar 12 2026

Musical wallpaper, a baselayer, vapid. Not a fan of her music at all 2/5

Legalize It by Peter Tosh
Mar 13 2026

Starts off with his biggest hit "Legalize It", which is a classic Reggae song. "Ketchy Shuby" is very, very weak. Thankfully "Till Your Well Runs Dry" picks it up, maybe best song on the album. Overall not bad, not great. 3/5

GREY Area by Little Simz
Mar 14 2026

Amazing Rap album by the best female rapper of this time. Venom and Flowers are perfect songs. I think her two albums that followed this one are slightly better but this is a very high 4*. Might return for that fifth. 4/5

All Hope Is Gone by Slipknot
Mar 15 2026

This album felt cut in two, the first part was rawer and more energetic and the second part felt more commercial. Overall quite allright 3/5

Shalimar by Rahul Dev Burman
Mar 16 2026

That was quite out there for me. Thank you, 1001. Not something I'm used to but it does feel more western-inspired than expected. Overall not bad, not great 3/5

Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben Jor
Mar 17 2026

Quite enjoyed this album, feels like a weaker version of "Clube Da Esquina". Probably inspired by "Clube" which is fine. 3/5

New Wave by The Auteurs
Mar 18 2026

Album cover goes way harder than the album. Cover filled me with expectation but the music war very, very bland. 2/5

Tellin’ Stories by The Charlatans
Mar 19 2026

Slightly better than some of the britpop slog I have gone through 3/5

25 by Adele
Mar 20 2026

Banger of an album, sometimes popular music can be good Very good vocals of course 4/5

Mar 21 2026

Probably the weakest Byrds album, does this list really need that many? Very country inspired but did the world really need more country. I would prefer more of their earlier work, but okay. 3/5

My Generation by The Who
Mar 22 2026

Musically solid, just missing a little extra "extra" High 3*/5

Shaka Zulu by Ladysmith Black Mambazo
Mar 23 2026

It was strangely soothing and something I do this project for. 3/5

John Prine by John Prine
Mar 24 2026

A nice combo between Bob Dyland and John Denver. Actually a lot like John Denver. The instrumentals are very sparse and the voice is not quite good, very nasal. The songwriting is what is keeping this up. 3/5

Tank Battles by Dagmar Krause
Mar 25 2026

It's really wacky. I guess it has some value but I hated it. 1/5

Mar 27 2026

Highly Broadway-coded Very much doubting between 3 and 4 stars, but damn it, let’s go 4* for the novelty of it. 4/5

Shaft by Isaac Hayes
Mar 28 2026

Incomplete version on my Spotify. What I heard was very enjoyable, contrary to some other film soundtracks on this list. 4/5

Tigermilk by Belle & Sebastian
Mar 31 2026

That was excellent, thanks for the discovery. If I see this entering my rotation I’lll come back for that final star 4/5

Since I Left You by The Avalanches
Apr 01 2026

Excellent album All music is built on what came before, the trick is to combine it into something new. 5/5

It's A Shame About Ray by The Lemonheads
Apr 02 2026

Very very meh. This just blends into my mental archive of okay rock music of which there are hundreds on this list. 3/5

Copper Blue by Sugar
Apr 03 2026

That was quite okay, forgettable 3/5

Clandestino by Manu Chao
Apr 04 2026

Quite fun and easy listening. A lot of the accompaniment is very, very similar 3/5

Apr 05 2026

Very influential on the biggest genre of today. The worst part of hiphop from this age is the dumb skits. Really holding this album back, especially when all the skits are about women 3/5

Run-D.M.C. by Run-D.M.C.
Apr 06 2026

Sure it's dated. Gregorian chants are dated as well, compared to Mahler. +1 for the influence. Better than some of the stuff on this list. 4/5

The Stranger by Billy Joel
Apr 07 2026

Overall quite a good album. I feel like Joel is getting some more love nowadays, at least here in the Netherlands. Pianoman often getting high in the famous Top 2000. 4/5

Pyromania by Def Leppard
Apr 08 2026

Sure it might have had a big influence, for hair metal and whatnot. It is so screamingly mediocre, I never want to hear it again. 2/5

Deloused in the Comatorium by The Mars Volta
Apr 09 2026

Musically quite strong but vocally bad. Vocals ruined it for me and the guitar playing is deliberately sloppy. A lot of energy in this album. 3/5

Axis: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix
Apr 10 2026

Just one of the best guitarists ever and one of the best songwriters of his time. Very good. 4/5

The La's by The La's
Apr 11 2026

Overall not too bad. The whimpering “All By Myself” is a real low poing on the album. 3/5

Apr 12 2026

This definitely is not harcore, this is mediocre. 3/5

Superfuzz Bigmuff by Mudhoney
Apr 13 2026

Right so I pulled the 1990 version tracklist off of the Wiki because the original is like 20 minutes and the version on Spotify is over 2 hours. Overall a very nice punk record. Guitar melodies a bit lack maybe but at least it’s high octane. Reminds of Queens of the Stone Age a bit, which is a compliment. 4/5

Aqualung by Jethro Tull
Apr 14 2026

The flute is nice, overall a mit meh 3/5

G. Love And Special Sauce by G. Love & Special Sauce
Apr 15 2026

Fuzzy by Grant Lee Buffalo
Apr 16 2026

Nice listen but also forgetttable 3/5

Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Apr 17 2026

It’s a very 1950’s album in 1964. It was around the early Beatles albums. It just feels a bit outdated for the 60’s although not bad! 3/5

Highway to Hell by AC/DC
Apr 18 2026

I swear this album is some blokes whole personality. Enjoy your tarmac whiskey Not bad though, just not all that 3/5

The Only Ones by The Only Ones

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Apr 21 2026

Risque by CHIC
Apr 22 2026

“Good Times” is a banger but afterwards it becomes too sappy sweet 3/5

3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul
Apr 23 2026

Decent hiphop album, the skits are horrible as usual. Quite good for an early hiphop album High 3*/5

Pink Flag by Wire
Apr 25 2026

36 minutes and 21 tracks, oh boy, I'm about to get electrocuted. Oh, not really. 3/5

Back In Black by AC/DC
Apr 26 2026

Loud and in your face. Just a very good album High 4/5

Sister by Sonic Youth
Apr 28 2026

That was quite nice. Nothing too much but good. 4/5

Rattlesnakes by Lloyd Cole And The Commotions
Apr 29 2026

This feels like background music. Could not remember a standout song afterwards. 3/5

Tonight's The Night by Neil Young
Apr 30 2026

Oof this is the weakest Neil Young album (so far?) Still somewhat good but expected more 3/5

May 01 2026

Went into this album thinking 2.87 is way too low. That opinion was based on just knowing the hits, there are some stinkers as well 3/5

Fly Or Die by N.E.R.D
May 02 2026

Decently enjoyable and new for me. Not something I'd return to but nice enough! 3/5

The Dreaming by Kate Bush
May 03 2026

That was not quite as good as "Hounds of Love". An especially rough and grating start. I do think there is something here but not well developed. Almost as if she tries to be too artsy... 2/5

Electric Prunes by The Electric Prunes
May 04 2026

Decent album, if a bit tame. Starts of with a banger but cannot stick to that level. 3/5

A Seat at the Table by Solange
May 05 2026

Weird album for me. I can tell the music is quite good but it’s absolutely not my style… too moany etc High 3*/5

Infected by The The
May 06 2026

Very mid, utterly forgettable 80's music 3/5

The Velvet Underground & Nico by The Velvet Underground
May 08 2026

Just an absolute banger. Ask yourself: How would this be received if released today? It would still be good, which makes it insane for 1967! 5/5

Document by R.E.M.
May 09 2026

Decent album! Bit droning but that's REM. 3/5

Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth
May 11 2026

Pelican West by Haircut 100
May 12 2026

It's got a real "just a recording sesh with the lads" type sound but did go on and on. Overall decent, not impressive. 3/5

BEYONCÉ by Beyoncé

Brutal Youth by Elvis Costello
May 17 2026

This is probably one of those forgettable, mediocre, 3* albums but because it's ANOTHER Costello album it's a 2. 2/5

Snivilisation by Orbital
May 18 2026

Okay album, 3* is enough. Faded into the background but I guess that’s the point 3/5

Destroyer by KISS
May 19 2026

Meh, it's allright 3/5

May 20 2026

Hmm the first part of the album is very much like the Beatles. Never realised how much Queen started out inspired by the Beatles. Bohemian Rhapsody sounds otherwordly in comparison 4/5

The Grand Tour by George Jones
May 21 2026

Always ambivalent to country. This is an example of the bad ones. 2/5

The Message by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five

So much sound and yet the energy doesn't translate. It turns into biker bar background music. 2/5

Ready To Die by The Notorious B.I.G.
Jun 17 2026

Excellent rap album, one of the ones that drew me in. Yes the skits are absolutely horrible, skip. The rhymes and flows are just amazing, so is the storytelling. Rhyming about a stick up and shoot out with cops and most amazingly: "Suicidal Thoughts". 5/5
