Coat Of Many Colors
Dolly PartonGood intro to dolly parton, a bit too country old school for me but good background music 5/10
Good intro to dolly parton, a bit too country old school for me but good background music 5/10
nice easy listening, highlights: cecilia and el condor pasa. 6/10
90s massive beats, classic album with nostalgia, solid 8/10
A bit too depressing but is a widely well regarded album and a pioneer in the indie rock space, 6/10
Pretty cool mix of sounds, funk, classic, hip-hop 7/10
Not my style, a bit too boring and overrated 3/10
One of the best rap albums out there, Eminem is so good, 9/10, a lot of nostalgia with this one
a bit too downbeat but not bad 5/10
absolutely terrible album, it may have been a trailblazer in the punk space but what a horrendous listen, 0/10
Funk, good beats 7/10
Much more like it, 8/10, some good 80s pop rock
too hippy for me, 4/10
pioneering synth, some epic tunes which have been remastered into other songs 7/10
too 60s for me, moving into more 70s rock but still too country/60s, 4/10
boring generic soft rock 3/10
nothing to write home about, 5/10
very good, 7/10, pretty chilled but lovefelt album
5/10, not bad, some good songs, not as heavy as I thought it would be which is a good thing
overrated, 4/10, I get that it was a pioneering moment but not my jam
good indie rock 6/10
it's ok, a bit generic 70s/80s slow rock, typical fleetwood mac 6/10
10/10, pure nostalgia, such incredible songs such as Babylon, please forgive me, sail away, say hello wave goodbye etc etc. Late 90s at the peak of British culture, such an influential album in my teenage years. Also very well produced and a must on an audiophile's playlist.
2/10 - a middle class hotel lobby which is acting more expensive than it is
6/10 - a couple of big songs, I've seen them live a couple of times but I don't know... are they slightly overrated?
2/10 - a country crossover with Elvis, bad
2/10 - understand they are pioneers but damn I hate punk
5/10 - not bad, thought it would be harder but I like the long riffs mixed with the orchestra
5/10 - nice relaxing pop rock from the 60s, I shall be released a particular highlight
8/10 great first album, good lyrics mixed with funk/jazz/pop
2/10 note I listened to the demos version as the original wasn't available on spotify or youtube music. Did not enjoy, all the songs are the same and just meld into one sameyness. Very boring and didn't find the artist's voice anything special
7/10 - I like it, very Led Zeppelinesque, the recording on the alst track can be improved when messing around with Stereo, it's like they got carried away with the new tech and just started messing around with it
4/10 - he's a lyrical genius but the music is just boring
5/10 - pretty decent, not hardcore punk, some good rock songs
6/10 - not bad, good lyrics, but gets a bit samesy
4/10 very generic early rock, can see kings of leon being influenced by ZZ Top but nothing to write home about
3/10 album is 10 songs too long, really stretching recording on a CD, it's good for 3/4 songs and then it drags with the same britpop style, second disc is arguably better with its variety
4/10 - nice easy going music, not offensive or exceptional either
6/10 - approachable rock, not too hard but some good riffs, didnt realise "you really got me" is from Van Halen
6/10 - nice easy listening, classic belle & sebastian vocals and sounds
3/10 - nothing memorable, not quite hardcore punk but no rock song stands out
8/10 - very refreshing! latin, afro, hipo hop beats, very surprised this is from the 80s!
6/10 - a nice change of pace, pop/folky, would never had thought that it's the Simon in Simon & Garfunkel, but the recording is poor and cheap unfortunately
5/10 - not a very modern album, I've heard it before, but not bad either
2/10- as I said to my wife, this is massive attack from temu, obsessed with India's nuclear programme and some ok vocals although the English singing is so generic from its period
6/10 - some memorable songs, also a lot of nostalgia for my wife so it was a great conversation around this album, put a smile on my face
6/10 - nice soft blues rock, good instrumentals and easy listening
7/10 - Good jazz, some notes african music in there too, all in all, very pleasant music
5/10 - ok, hotel music, inoffensive
7/10 - great funk music, nice to have playing in the background
7/10 - I'm quietly impressed by Paul Simon, my second album I've listened of his and I like his experimental approach with rock and pop
3/10 - boring whiny indie rock
7/10 - very good britpop, song 2 being the obvious highlight
6/10 - country mixed with indie rock, good vocals, and some catchy tunes. But too long of an album
6/10 - chilled RnB, but no real standout
6/10 - traditional flaming lips sound, good for having in the background if you dont want hard rock
8/10 - terrible human but great album
4/10 - ska just isn't for me
8/10 - classic 90s hiphop, Lauryn Hill is a gem, some big tunes on this: killing me softly, fugeela, ready or not
8/10 - amazing African Jazz, I can see how this genre influenced salsa so much, not only is the music good but the vocals are filled with passion
5/10 - typical mid 90s american indie rock, ok but 15 tracks too long, issue with bands realising CDs can be rammed with music
5/10 - ok but waaaay too long, some decent songs but it draaags at times
5/10 - disappointed because I expected more, the initial song is a classic but then it is a bit boring, there are no other standout songs
