14/03/2026 1. burnout - not massive on his vocals... why does every american singer from the 90s sound so whiny?? 2. having a blast - guitar is nice, but i'm really not a fan of the vocals. 3. chump - same as the last one really... just don't really care about it. 4. longview - like the fade in with the drums. bass is really nice as well. cannot like his voice. 5. welcome to paradise - sounds nice (even though i hate the vocals, they're not bad), but is just really boring for me! 6. pulling teeth - jesus christ i really cannot stand his whiny, nasally voice... sounds like an american frank sidebottom. an instrumental track may redeem this album. 7. basket case - im14andthisisdeep.... currently reading a 400 page pdf on the history of cyanotypes which is somehow more entertaining than this shit. 8. she - same as the rest of the bloody songs... 9. sassafras roots - over halfway through.... lyrics are sweet. don't like anything else about it! 10. when i come around - nice distorted guitar. cannot fault the instruments, but just reeeaaalllly not my thing i guess? 11. coming clean - jesus christ i thought smashing pumpkins was whiny.... 12. emenius sleepus - why does every song sound the same!! proto-emo shit! 13. in the end - so glad these songs are fairly short..... 14. f.o.d - like the beat drop i guess? still wouldn't listen to it again. 15. all by myself - knowing this will end in less than two minutes is the most relief i have ever felt in my whole life. how has it gotten worse???? thank god this is over. one of the most boring albums i have ever had the misfortune of listening to. every song sounds the same and that sound is one of the most irritating things i have ever heard. like a fly that won't fucking shut up. just a reallly shit version of buzzcocks!!!!! justice for pop punk!!!

Trifft leider überhaupt meinem Geschmack, green day hat aus meiner Sicht diesen "Highschool, endlich Ferien, ich hol dich ab im caprio und wir fahren am den See" vibe und in dem Rahmen würde ich mir die Musik vll auch Mal 15minuten geben, aber selbst für solche Anlässe gibt es bessere Kandidat*innen, z.B. Blink 182 mit dem Album "Enema of the State".

Listened to this over two different occasions, coincidentally while shitting my brains out. Took me until I finished the album to realise the album name fit my predicament

I don’t know what it is, Green Day should be a band I love but I’ve always strongly disliked. Maybe it’s the voice, maybe it’s the deep seated trauma of them being constantly on repeat during my first job - this album lives up to its name.

Never liked Green Day and still don't. Welcome to Paradise was the only somewhat interesting song on here, but the rest all sounds the same. Not a fan

if I was a pubescent lad in 1994 perhaps I may have well been able to identify with this album, but it was not a sound or experience that I particular got to like & for another reminder in 2025 it actually sounds worse! Just sounds all a bit daft these days, trying to be rebellious but to me actually sounding a bit "American Pie" & childish....

I put so many Green Day songs on my playlists. I skip them every single time. Green Day reminds me of my dad and so I think it holds a special sentiment to me, the idea of it. But in reality I don’t like them at all.

If starting every track with the drums in the left channel before smashing out a 2 chord strum whilst shouting is your thing. Enjoy. For me, could manage any track for more than 15 seconds. Next…..

Wasn't a fan. An hour of the same song going over and over again with the same riffs and with the same dreadful singing. Maybe I want part of that generation when they were huge but none of their music stood out to me.

Aldri likt Greenday noe særlig og dette overbeviste meg ikke heller. Syntes det bare er sytete, gjentakende og en mer shallow versjon av movementen som kom før, med feks Ramones, som jeg heller ikke likte, haha.

But this album also destroyed any chance of rock shows, much less free rock shows, to be had on the hatch shell. I mean, who the hell flips over porta-potties? Insanity. So my vote here is in protest that if Dookie hadn't come out, we'd still have rock shows at the Hatch Shell.

Synthetic punk, They were to the nineties what The Foo Fighters are to today. At one point you couldn't turn on your radio, T.V. without seeing or hearing them somewhere. Urban punk for those that wouldn't invest the time in listening to real punk bands. Billie Joe Armstrong as some kind of spokesman? I think not. Perhaps the dumbest move made by the R&R Hall Of Fame was having Mr. Armstrong giving the inauguration speech for The Stooges.
