It sounded exactly like what it was: someone w zero musical talent - who had the right attitude at the right time, and was therefore told he was a genius - actually believing he was a genius and trying to do something that was both advant guarde and as equally as edgy as his previous, attitude driven, work. My dog produces more palatable turds.

A fantastic collection of songs. Those who argue otherwise are those same kids in school who confused obstinancy w coolness. That said (and who am I to argue with the genius of George Martin), the songs seems to be out of order...

English does not have a superlative appropriate enough to convey the genius that is Dave Brubeck. This is the best that jazz has ever been - they should have just stopped making it after this. The genre has not, and never will, get any better.

The album captured the irreverent and narcissistic zeitgeist of the early 1980s. Unapologetic in its embrace of the evolving pop-centric hegemony, yet caustic in its flippant irony. Head bopping fun.
