Popular Reviews

Public Image: First Issue by Public Image Ltd.

It sounded exactly like what it was: someone w zero musical talent - who had the right attitude at the right time, and was therefore told he was a genius - actually believing he was a genius and trying to do something that was both advant guarde and as equally as edgy as his previous, attitude driven, work. My dog produces more palatable turds.

Hotel California by Eagles
Aug 19 2025

I cannot for the life of me understanding the fuss over this albu.. Completely unremarkable apart from track 1, which saves it from a 1-star rating. If this "capturures the shifting zeitgeist of the 70s" they should have left it the fuck alone.

Green by R.E.M.

Orange crush... 2024 theme song? This was good.

Tapestry by Carole King
Sep 16 2025

All you got to do is call

Ray Of Light by Madonna
Sep 21 2025

Surprisingly poor. Unimaginative, derivative, bullshit. Makes sense that this was a high bar for a decade that idolized Zach Morris.

Guitar Town by Steve Earle
Sep 25 2025

Not my vibe. Don't drink enough sarsaparilla...

Public Image: First Issue by Public Image Ltd.

Really poor.

Chris by Christine and the Queens
Oct 12 2025

Prétentieux.

Abbey Road by Beatles
Oct 14 2025

A fantastic collection of songs. Those who argue otherwise are those same kids in school who confused obstinancy w coolness. That said (and who am I to argue with the genius of George Martin), the songs seems to be out of order...

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Oct 18 2025

English does not have a superlative appropriate enough to convey the genius that is Dave Brubeck. This is the best that jazz has ever been - they should have just stopped making it after this. The genre has not, and never will, get any better.

Talking Book by Stevie Wonder
Jan 20 2026

I was expecting A LOT better from the album w "Superstition" on it.

Beauty And The Beat by The Go-Go's
Jan 23 2026

The album captured the irreverent and narcissistic zeitgeist of the early 1980s. Unapologetic in its embrace of the evolving pop-centric hegemony, yet caustic in its flippant irony. Head bopping fun.

Siembra by Willie Colón & Rubén Blades
May 29 2026

May 31 2026

This would normally be my kinda thing, but I found this overly simplistic and repetitive. The musical equivalent of "are we there yet?"

The Beach Boys Today! by The Beach Boys
Jun 04 2026

You can skip this one. There's at most 45 seconds of engaging music in it.

Kala by M.I.A.
Jun 05 2026

Fucking amazing. Paper Planes turns out to be one of the lesser tracks on this ethnic mélange of deep base brilliance.

Birth Of The Cool by Miles Davis
Jun 08 2026

5 - but you gotta be in the mood for it.

1999 by Prince
Jun 09 2026

This was just not enjoyable. Very much a let down. I guess we need to keep in mind that the 80s was the height of the cocaine crisis...

Jun 29 2026

Back before Liv Tyler's dad started looking like my mom... solid.

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Jul 06 2026

"Pretention" doesn't come close enough. If you're going to be this much of a navel-gazing ass, your songs need to be better.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Jul 11 2026

How have I not been listening to this ballsy ball of talent all my life?

Darklands by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Jul 27 2026

Budget 80s Lou Reed.

Ten by Pearl Jam
Jul 28 2026

Music your college roommate was obsessed with. Some great 90s rock anthems in there. But, 30 years later, has anyone figured out yet what the fuck Eddie was saying? "EVEN FLOoow, walked-around like-BUTTERknives." Like, wtf?

Le Tigre by Le Tigre
Jul 30 2026

Riot grrrl righteousness.

Rapture by Anita Baker
Jul 31 2026

Is it just me, or is this kinda pitchy, Dawg? Plus, everything is a run, makes it kinda hard to listen to tbh.

Aug 05 2026

By far the most unnecessarily eclectic album I've ever heard. Pick a lane. Some songs were actually pretty good, others sounded like a joke. Mr Skin a standout.

At Newport 1960 by Muddy Waters

"I Got My Brand on You" is an absolutely alarming allegory. Good blues tho.
