Reviews (page 11 of 15)
I don't think I ever listened to a whole Beatles album from start to finish until now. Probably because I always associated The Beatles with old people because it's what my parents listened to when they were young. Now, I am Old People and this is a pretty good album.
Classic. A lot of tracks I didn’t remember. Weird audio with the left/right channels.
7/10
Really light instrumentals. Perfect for a spring day. I love the use of drums and electric guitar (I think?). "I want you (she's so heavy)" has a sensual yet rock feeling to it. "Because" is so ethereal. "Her Majesty" is the perfect end to the album.
And I've got a hole in me pocket
Sgt. Pepper I couldn't (and can't) wait to listen to again. This one is great, but no similar emotional reaction to it. Blasphemy, &tc.
Great album
When I was younger I played the Beatles to death. I don't listen to whole albums of theirs often, so it was nice to give this a relisten. Favorite songs: I Want You, Here Comes The Sun, Golden Slumbers
pretty good album i never liked the beatles or tried to listen to their music before this and i can say this was pretty good i always found beatles fans annoying favorite song is probably octopuses garden overall 50 being average this would be a 86/100
I mean it's the Beatles. Of course it's good of course I like it but I just don't gaf. I gaf very little I'm finding out. I did not know the Beatles had all this in them. Sing it white boy sing it. Big fan of this. Some funky guitar work. Yeah man sometimes I'd like to be under the sea as well. It's definitely dynamic and interesting. The really we're just doing whatever. What the hell the sing song?? The goat did it better. Bigger fan of this than I thought actually. Favourite: Oh! Darling Least favourite: Maxwell's Silver Hammer
I have heard this album so many times..It still jams.
Lost my notes, yeah it's a good Beatles album I enjoy, had a teacher that had an Abbey Road poster and he was cool. There are a couple of tracks that have really cool choirs, and plenty of cool strings on like every track.
Yeah, it’s a classic.
3.5 - Good
4 tracks saved, including some bangers like Come Together. Some truly off the wall songs on this album
Okay album.
me gustó, me gustaron las vibras y el primer tema es un banger, me parece chimba como las canciones de conectan
The Beatles' final (recorded) album continues the band's exploration of different styles that ran wild on the white album. The material isn't quite as varied here, but this one boasts a much higher hit rate. All four members contribute great songs. "Something" is beautiful with a stunning climax, "Oh Darling" has tremendous vocals, "Octopus's Garden" is fun and silly, and "I Want You" is heavy and hypnotizing. The medley at the end takes a few songs to really get going, but once it does it turns into one of the best sides on a Beatles album. It's not quite a perfect album - "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" is too silly and I've never found "Here Comes the Sun" more than good. But this is very comfortably their second best and a masterclass in songwriting.
From a non-Beatles enthusiast, this is such a rich and varied tapestry, showing off the talents of each member in their latter stages as a group. Come Together and The End are perfect bookends for the album, and the side B medley is nice.
4/5
7/10 Best songs: Oh! Darling, I Want You (She's So Heavy), Polythene Pam My third Beatles album in less than 75 albums, and my second in a week. Figures that'd happen to someone who's not a particularly big fan. I understand how insanely influential the band is, and some of their songs are absolute bops, but I just don't find their albums especially interesting. It says something that my favorite songs from this album are the ones that aren't popular and where the singing/music is a little more out there. Much of this album oscillates between being overly low key and overly quirky (like "hurdy gurdy I'm a goofy circus performer"). While better than their other albums I've heard, and while it has some flashes of brilliance, and while it's highly influential... it's not amazing by any means.
4.1/5 Stars Top Songs: Come Together, Here Comes the Sun, Oh! Darling
I mean, what can you say about this album? It's the Beatles!
A classic in the truest sense of the word and I will never deny it that. However, I have always been a fan of earlier Beatles records and this album, though as classic as it is, did not move the needle. There are some timeless songs on here (although a few have been beyond overplayed at this point) but, for me, as an overall album experience it was not as amazing as so many people have said. 4/5
I've actually never just sat down and listened to the Beatles. It's a much more subdued sound than I expected. It's what I would call soft-rock or even a punk sound in today's language. Funny that this was such a new sound back then. The more I listen, the more foundational this album sounds. There are so many different sounds and influences I can hear. It sounds like early 70's rock, early 80s rock, even some 90s. They built some foundational music here. If I did not know the history, I'd say they are just genre-agnostic, but since they pretty much created the rock genre I can definitely hear how crazy this must have been back in the day.
There are many other better albums by the Beatles in terms of musicality but the presence of Something, Here Comes the Sun, and Come Together have always saved this one for me. I’ve also always loved the sequence of the last three tracks knowing this was the last album they recorded together.
Solid Beatles.
Me ha sorprendido gratamente y entiendo perfectamente el delirio colectivo de la gente esos años. Adelantados a su tiempo.
Conocía algunas canciones. Octupos garden esta infravalorada, gran canción Las de harrison estan bien
its the beatles
Har definitivt några classics - Come Together & Here Comes the Sun, dem gillar jag verkligen. I want you (shes so heavy) hade väldigt najs öppning, lite mer ifrån deras original sound, mer bluesrock. You never give me money, blev lite boogie woogie/blues, trodde inte den skulle gå dit haha. Sen lite spanska också, okej XD Najs transition mellan track 12 och 13, smooth. Första albumet av Beatles, okej okej okej. 7/10
Owned. A really strong album
I’m on vacation so can’t get into. Great record.
Okay, okay, okay. I know. It's Abbey Road, its the cover, its the famous one, lets get all that out of the way. Yes it has octobus and maxwell and all these others, but its got some clunkers in the back end, its a little disparate, and it's not the best of their albums. Great but not the best.
Has my favorite Beatles song, Golden Slumbers, as well as a few classics and songs that changed the music scene.
4 Listened to this album a lot. Always go back to I want you so bad. I love it and despite it being 7:47 long, I don’t want it to end. Number tracks:17 Fave track: 6: I want you (She’s so heavy) Others: 8: Because 16/02/26

Good album!
Not quite my forte
9/10, asik lah
I always thought the Beatles were overrated but I have been proven wrong. The sound is very consistent, every song on it is good. CLASSIC
Hit or miss songs with me, but the good was good. Album composition and flow was excellent which bumps it up for me.
Excellent album
Maxwell's Silver Hammer and Octopus' Garden mean that this never has a chance of being a five start album, and I'm afraid that this is a microcosm of the issues I've had with The Beatles - even after getting past my "they're overrated and I know better than you" phase. For all the great music, there's always some shite hiding around the corner... Favourite tracks: Come Together, Something, I Want You, The End
As with most late Beatles albums, when it's good it's untouchable. The first half has several of the greatest songs ever - Come Together, I Want You, Here Comes The Sun - and the usual smattering of McCartney being a bit too music hall. The second half was frustrating. I admire the sort of medley/segue attempt, and several parts are astonishingly good, but I can't help but feel making them into clearly defined, well structured songs would have been better. 4, but so close to a 5 it's annoying.
nisu loši ovi momci
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good amount of dead weight here but went it isn’t its excellent
I got whiplash going from the 4th lowest rated album to the 2nd highest rated album on the 1001 (only Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours tops this one). This album is certainly great, though not perfect. Plenty of great songs, and I was really into the heavier sound they had on a lot of these tracks. Some weird, quick songs toward the end that didn’t seem to fit the rest of the album keep it from a 5, but this is still my favorite Beatles album I’ve listened to so far. Strong 4/5
Come Together/Something an incredible opening. Rest of the album doesn’t maintain that all time pace despite Here Comes the Sun
Love this. Classic
i’ve never listened to the whole album and there are many of the songs, but it was awesome to listen all the way through
Of course, an all-timer, but in the mid-tier for my Beatles records. On side A, Something, Darling, and Heavy are the best tracks. I could lose Silver Hammer and Octopus’ Garden. Side B, lose Here Comes the Sun, but keep the ending medley - this is what people ought to love most. That’s the Beatles at max power.
Do I care about the Beatles? No, I don't. Am I able to write an honest review that does not take my personal taste into account? Yes, I am. I Want You (She's So Heavy) is the best Beatles songs ever. And arguably invented the evil heavy metal riff. Some really solid songs here, but it feels more like a collection of songs than an actual planned out album, as it goes into a lot of different directions, even thematically. But the solid songs are so well built, with such a rich palette of sounds, varied influences and intensity that make this a really good overall effort.
You're gonna carry that weight. I gotta watch cowboy bebop again
Better than expected. My lack of fondness for the early Beatles shouldn't be a reason to listen to their other stuff. This album is strong and had some stuff I hadn't really heard before. Will listen again.
got halfway through it, reminded me how fun the beatles can be. many of their songs are so much sillier than i ever anticipated. need to go back and finish soon, but idk how this website works so i'm just gonna say i did.
Back in my teenage years, I had a friend named Abbey. I have a vague memory of overhearing someone at school (a teacher, probably) ask her something to the effect of "What's it like being named after one of the greatest albums of all time?" I don't remember how she responded and only later pieced together that he was referring to Abbey Road, but that memory has managed to stick with me year after year. I knew that actually hearing Abbey Road would forever alter that memory, so I (somewhat intentionally) put off listening to it and let it live in my mind as this “perfect” album I might never get to experience. I was aware that I'd eventually arrive at Abbey Road by doing this challenge, but felt ready to take that leap – knowing it was the #2 highest-rated LP on here did give me some anxiety about it, though! I probably can't say much about Abbey Road that hasn't already been said thousands of times, so I'll try to keep it brief. Firstly, there are a lot of great songs here – "Something" might be the best Beatles single of the lot and quirky tracks like "Come Together" & "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" are just unforgettable. The 16-minute medley toward the end is pretty iconic as well. I guess the thing that holds this LP back for me is that it's kind of all over the place – the first five tracks on Side A each sound like they could have been from different albums, while Side B is more cohesive, but with varying levels of effort put into its transitions. I do like it when albums offer some variety, but not when that variety is inconsistent. I originally gave Abbey Road five stars, but that was the result of a lot of mental gymnastics (including the assumption that the chaotic/ordered dichotomy of the two sides was intentional, which doesn't actually appear to be the case) and peer pressure. I went back and changed my score to four stars after a few days because it just didn't look right sitting next to two albums I wholly resonated with. So, yeah... I think Abbey Road has a lot of great moments and can completely understand why many consider it an all-time great, but I also can't sweep my personal reservations under the rug (in good conscience, anyway). Regardless, I would definitely listen to it again in the future and am excited to see if there's a different Beatles album I end up enjoying even more! Highlights: Come Together, Something, Maxwell's Silver Hammer, Oh! Darling, I Want You (She's So Heavy), Here Comes the Sun, You Never Give Me Your Money, Mean Mr Mustard, She Came in Through the Bathroom Window, Golden Slumbers, Carry That Weight, The End
It’s a great record that I should’ve paid more attention to sooner. It’s definitely a record where it’s intended to be listened to as one whole project. The second half of it being loads of short songs that flow from one another exceptionally. Love hearing the range in Paul’s voice, ‘Oh Darling’ was my personal favourite display of this. Ringo Star is so neat and perfect on this record, really showing his technical capabilities as a true professional and pioneer. Absolutely love the album cover, and all the conspiracies that came with it. The tension in ‘I want you (She’s So Heavy) is superb one of my favourites off this album. Favourite songs are: ‘Come Together’, ‘Oh Darling’, ‘I Want You (She’s So Heavy)’, ‘You Never Give Me Your Money’, ‘Carry That Weight’, and ‘The End’.
Well its the beatles
It feels crazy to give this a 4/5, but I’m not sure if it warrants a 5/5 from me. Out of songs that I hadn’t heard before, my favourites were Something and Golden Slumbers / Carry that Weight
Not as good as The White Album or Pepper but still great and just an all-round great classic rock record.
Abbey Road feels like a band that knew what they were doing by this point. When I listen to it, it just sounds confident and settled. Nothing feels messy or rushed. I like how easy it is to listen to. The songs are strong, and the second half really sticks together in a way that still feels satisfying. It feels thought through, even if I cannot always explain why. For me, it sounds like a great band in a great era, finishing on a high.
My thoughts - For a long time, I considered myself a passive listener of The Beatles. I knew the hits & enjoyed them when they came on the radio or a playlist, but I never really listened to an entire album (minus the Across the Universe soundtrack, but i don't think that counts) However, taking the time to become an active listener for Abbey Road gave me a whole new appreciation for their genius. In my opinion, this is their best album. There is a polished, cohesive quality here that feels like the band reaching their absolute summit. I found that the best way to experience it was listening to the entirety of the album in one go, I didn't even mean to do that; I was just enjoying myself so much I let each song play into the next one; for me that's damn near impossible as I almost exclusively skip a song after I listen to just a bit of it, lol. It’s def a bittersweet masterpiece ~ knowing it was one of the last times they worked together in the studio. Favorite song(s) - The End Here Comes the Sun Come Together Something Rating 1-5 ~ 4
This simultaneously contains some of the Beatles best work- the masterful medley on side 2, and their worst- Maxwells silver hammer. It’s a Beatles album there’s great songs, beautiful Melodys and soaring harmonies. Theres also weird bubble sounds on octopuses garden
come together--we all know it something--reminds me of wish you were here (or does floyd remind me of something?) silver hammer--ok? oh! darling--classic little rock ballad start octopus's garden--me too, john, me too here comes the sun hits different after i want you ope interrupted album, vibe broke lot going on after here comes the sun the end--mean drum solo her majesty--catchy
obviously a classic, but feel like the album’s reputation has always been *slightly* overblown. side a is a tad hit or miss for me, but side b is marvellous, that stretch from “you never give me your money” to “the end” is the greatest thing the beatles have ever done.
I’m demoting this, sorry
I’m kind of shocked at how much I enjoyed this album. I spent the majority of my music listening life being the annoying anti Beatle contrarian, so doing this project has made me sit down and actually listen to them. The first two songs being Come Together and Something really made starting this album very smooth, though Maxwells Silver Hammer almost made me want to turn it off. The melody towards the end was also amazing. In all it was a really good listen, and something I will come back to.
Um dos álbuns mais conhecidos e aclamados da história, de uma das bandas mais conhecidas, aclamadas e influentes da história. Não há uma má música aqui, destaque para Here Comes The Sun, Something, Oh! Darling e You Never Give Me Your Money.
nice
If you asked me, I for sure would have guessed that Octopus's Garden was from the LSD era. The album deserves a 5, but I underrated it and it would be dishonest to change it now
There’s no denying this album has some great songs. “Come Together” might actually be my favorite Beatles track. Coming from someone who doesn’t love the Beatles, the only thing keeping this from being a 5/5 for me is a handful of tracks that just don’t do much for me. Trim it down to 12 or 13 songs and it probably gets there. 4.5/5
One star off because any album with Maxwell’s Silver Hammer doesn’t deserve 5 stars
Favourite songs: Something Oh! Darling Golden Slumbers
Thankful I grew up with this one, and that this was my starting point for this project
Come together: 7/10 might be playlist worthy Something in the way 7.8/10 playlist worthy maybe Silver hammer: 6/10 Oh darling: idk but defo high than silver hammer Octuphs Garden: 4/10 I want you (shes so heavy): 8/10 playlist worthy Here comes the sun: 9/10 always a classic Because: 6/10 You never give your money: 7.4/10 playlist worthy maybe Sun king: 7/10 Mean Mr mustard: 7.9/10 playlist worthy Polythene Pan: 8/10 added to playlist She came in through the window: 7/10 playlist worthy maybe Golden slumbers: 8/10 Carry that weight: 7.8/10 The End: 7.8/10 Her Majesty: 9/10
Partly heard before Saved 11/17 Top track: Here Comes the Sun
Favorite Track: Come Together
I am not sure i have listened to this in its entirity before, despite knowing the majority of the songs well. There is a beautiful small guitar solo I never noticed before on Come Together and it is fantastic. Something is just pure class. I was really enjoying Oh Darling until Paul started screaming, but then I read up about the context and it all makes sense. Octopussys garden is, well, Ocotopussy's Garden. I did not care too much for I Want You. Here comes the Sun is one of my favourite Beatles songs. I quite liked Sun King and how it went into Mean Mr Mustard. Golden Slumbers and Carry the weight are absolutely fantastic. The album ends well. Despite a few weaker songs, It is a good album, but I am not a massive Beatles fan and therefore do not really have a desire to own the album. Based on this criteria I give this a solid 4.5 stars
Listened on 1/4/26 The A-side was a classic listen through some of the most iconic Beatles songs out there. While some of them are definitely not playlist worthy in my book, they were all great to hear. However, the B-side, starting with “Sun King,” which is like an alternate version of the classic “Here Comes the Sun,” blew me completely away. All of these little snippets of songs beautifully interwoven together was truly something extraordinary to listen to. I have always known that the Beatles were popular and understand that through their hit singles, but I truthfully didn’t except this level of mastery. I was blown away. 4/5
Pretty good !! My fav one overall, is Oh! Darling and Her Majesty. I’m a little bummed out bc I thought that Her Majesty was a full song!! Not just like 23 seconds. Still love it tho lol. I woudl give this album a 7/10!! Some songs I just didn’t resonate with, or just no matter how much I repeated them I couldn’t just keep my attention enough to comprehend it.
eyy ts was so good wld replay again, 8/10
This is my first time hearing the hole album and it was life changing I’m not really used to this type of music but this is great
4.5 - super cool album, favorite is by far “I Want You” - new appreciation for all the styles that the Beatles had. Each track had me wondering what the next would sound like. Loved the B side.
Brilliant. A masterpiece. Respectfully, still didn't make me a fan.
The production quality really shines through on this album, a testament to George Martin. The songwriting was also very exceptional, as well as musicality (especially Ringo Starr's drums). However, the majority of the album felt very boring and not noteworthy, so I would give this a 4.5 if I could. Favorite tracks: Come Together, Maxwell's Silver Hammer, Octopus' Garden and Golden Slumbers.
Sounds familiar, like I’ve heard these before and never realized it’s the Beatles. Has some absolute bangers, but kind of weird. You can tell which ones Ringo was in charge of. My favorite is Something. 7/10.
While I do think the Beatles are massively overrated most of the time, this was reasonably enjoyable
7.5/10 Beatles albums tend to be a bit hit and miss, and there are definitely some stinkers on here (especially Maxwells Silver Hammer and Oh Darling), but theres no lack of creativity here and the second half is really strong Highlights: Here Comes the Sun Because Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End You Never Give Me Your Money Something
Better than hards days night. In Abbey Road its visible how better they get. They music stop being so generic to be more unique, making more sense being the legends that they are. Well, every song here its good, beside that i dont think there is a great and amazing song in this album, only good ones. And this doenst make it bad. Otherwise, it is a good album, a real album everyone must hear before die.
Iconic for a reason
Iconic and really good
not my favorite beatles project bang bang maxwells silver hammer also i hate octopus garden
OH GOD I LOVE CARRY THE WEIGHT!! but i need more time to listen this more
4/5
4.5/5 - One of the beetles finest. Not quite as good as revolver
such a classic loved it !!
ok, this is great too, but I honestly feel like there’s something that doesn’t quite convince me, talking about the beatles in general, in some point I feel that sounds kind of repetitive and that just disturbs me
I'l go to my grave saying that George Harrison was the best musician in the Beatles, and this album is two of the greatest songs ever written surrounded by a collection of mostly average songs. 'Something' probably has a strong claim to be one of the best songs I have ever heard. The rest of the album is pretty hit and miss. I'm honestly a little surprised this is as highly regarded as some of the other albums, it doesn't have the same cohesive feel that Rubber Soul. Sgt Peppers, or the white album has.
Good album in general. Best for me is probably polythene pam. Although here comes the sun is also really good. The beatles are goated
4/5
Although The Beatles have long since left my daily rotation, this album will always be a 5/5 for me. I genuinely don’t understand how you can listen to "Something," "Here Comes the Sun," the medley—honestly, the whole thing—and give it anything less. *adjusted this to 4 keeping group rating 5
Beatles is iconic obviously
Listening to Abbey Road for the first time and I can see why it is considered one of the greatest albums of all time.
Day 157 Such an influential album, every track is amazing. (4.5/5)
True classic
7/10
let’s start with the album cover! i like it a lot, the colours are nice and i like how they are walking on a zebra crossing. surely this is the most iconic album cover yet ! the music is not really my style it’s very storytelling and quick (quicker then my music taste) my favorite song is Her Majesty because, it’s a slower song and more whimsy. i enjoyed this album.⭐️ 6/10
Fun and progressive album.
Abbey Road is a great album, the side B medley is a brilliant, seamless suite that feels like a grand farewell. Yet, it remains overshadowed by three earlier albums: Revolver, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, and The “White” Album. Abbey Road is a listenable and beautifully produced Beatles record. Essential, masterful, and deeply satisfying, just not quite the pinnacle.

I’m not a huge Beatles fan, but this is a really good album, just not one I find myself reaching for to listen to very often. I do really love Golden Slumbers / Carry That Weight, and this relisten also made me realize how many other bands I listen to likely drew sound inspiration from certain types of Beatles songs, which is cool
Dog it's Abbey Road, everyone knows this is a Certified Banger. Like, come on. Top to bottom, bangers all the way through. Personal favourite of mine being Maxwell's Silver Hammer, which I know is offbeat, but still. Only giving it a 4 though because that's reserved for the things I personally really, really like.
#205/1001. At the moment this is the top rated Beatles album on this list (for some reason I thought it was Rubber Soul) and shares the top spot with the same score as Fleetwood Mac (Fleetwood Mac? Really?). Since I don't own this but three copies of Sgt. Pepper my view on it is perhaps a bit incomplete - common math says I've listened to Sgt. Pepper 300% more. Something in the way the album works as a whole is interesting - some of the songs individually don't really strike me, but as a medley McCartney's (and Lennon's) snippets of Granny music work out great. The two Harrisongs are great, and Come together is the best song with that name (sorry Annie, Spiritualized, Primal Scream etc.) and perhaps even the greatest song ever. Still I miss something, don't know what. Or perhaps it is Maxwell.
Its more beatles!! Great but I like there other albums better
8 This is my fave Beatles album and I love love love all the stories and everything that’s attached to it and I feel very connected to so much of this music and I love how it has songs as pretty as golden slumbers and also songs as daft as maxwells silver hammer and and and it’s so good!!
One of the greats, but unfortunately has a few songs that lose my interest
Pretty nice album
Definitely a great album, but there’s just something about the Beatles that I don’t fully enjoy
Might be their best
I don't think this is the best Beatles album, obviously great but quite a few lesser Beatles track here. Comparatively speaking. Still its much better than Fleetwood mac. 4.5 rounded down Heard before? Yes Owned: Yes: 32/122 (25%) Will I get? No
Les Beatles quoi… album bien cool ! Des bangers, je crois que je ne l’avais pas écouté en entier
Supergod, men altså, nok kun den 5. bedste Beatles plade der har været på listen indtil videre! (Hot take?)
Faixa favorita: Something Letra favorita: “She's so good-looking, but she looks like a man” - Polythene Pam Como me senti: fresca, relaxada Resumo geral: Um rock-pop bem acabado, cheio de melodias bonitas e momentos marcantes. Alterna entre brincadeira, ternura e experimentação. Reação pessoal: Eu me surpreendi. Gostei bastante do álbum. É atemporal, e isso já quer dizer muita coisa.
Key line and ultimate message of the whole album is “and in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make”. It doesn’t really matter if you have appalling granny dreck such as Maxwell’s Silver Hammer because you have pearls like Come Together, Something, Here Comes The Sun and the ingenious, exquisite near side-long medley to more than make up for it. Beatles are probably the best band ever and they really do go out on a fantastic high here having never sounding better. Every non Maxwell’s Silver Hammer detail of it is so iconic n lush and certifiably classic. I should really be rounding this up to 5 even with the Maxwell’s Silver Hammer monstrosity. Unfortunately the vocal shredding, Blueberry Hill copping Oh Darling is a bit too cheesy and grating as well. 4.5 stars.
I don't think there is any denying that The Beatles were one of the biggest influences on music for decades, but having written that, I've never been a big enough fan to ever purchase any of their albums or even to listen to a whole album in one sitting. I've basically heard just their music which was played on the radio; some of which I liked and some of which I didn't. If I never hear "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" again, I'm totally fine with that as that was the worst song for me. Best song is harder to choose as I've always liked, "Something" and "Here Comes The Sun". I do think some of the songs are just kind of silly like, "Maxwell"s Silver Hammer" and "Octopus's Garden". I could have done without the very long medley of songs also.
Good album. Come together is such a timeless banger.
Takes me back to the days walking down the road, crossing the street in a white suit while being followed by 3 stalkers. Got some good tunes on this one. 7 bugs out of 10 garden goblins
Besser als befürchtet
Something, here comes the sun, octopus’ garden all 5/5 songs. Poor George sitting on some of the best tracks from All Things Must Pass and having to record Maxwells Silver Hammer… I’d be pissed too!
i dont know why ive found it so hard to put a ranking to this one. its really good, but just lacks something to really tip it over the edge for me to really enjoy it. second favourite beatles album. i'll give it a 4; if im spending all this time worrying over it, something must have stuck with me beatles album rankings so far: 1. hard days night 2. abbey road 3. with the beatles 4. rubber soul 5. revolver 6. white album
I was sceptical, but the quality comes through. Album is really diverse, whimsical and performed beautifully. Songwriting on the highest level, you can feel the emotions and the band seems to have a lot of fun playing it. Lyrics could be written today, they stand the test of time great. And the base line is so strong!
This album has a floor on how low it can get rated due to the strength of several songs, but it isn't that tight and has some real meh moments. A classic for a reason and has a history and importance all its own, but it's not a 5/5 and they have better albums.
I really don't like Maxwell's silver hammer or I Want You(She's So Heavy), but I don't hate a bit of the whimsical Octopus's Garden. George Martin makes this album shine. Come Together, Something and especially Here Comes the Sun make this album unsinkable. The fusion of skiffle, British dance hall, American rock, blues and country. The Beatles manage to sound progressive and like "...[music] for the grannies to dig"
Not bad, for a Beatles album
some popular songs, some ok songs
Classic
This is the first time I've really enjoyed a Beatles record on first listen. Have I finally become cultured?
pirate reference
4.5 stars. One of their best.
Awesome album.....
It's good and the highs are some of the great tracks but I think this is where the different styles/interests of each Beatle start to show as a weakness rather than a strength, this stops it being particularly cohesive. Same on Revolver, Sgt Peppers, White Album to be fair but I think this is more of a strength there. They battle for attention on the first two and on the White Album they give all the different styles room to breathe over the length of a double album. Now it just feels jarring especially on the a-side where each song doesn't flow at all. Despite this the tracks themselves are pretty fantastic.
I know lots of Beatles songs but not which album they belong to. Abney Road has a great mix but includes a few tracks that don’t do it for me. I understand it’s special for the context as well as the music. So 4/5 feels right
4,25
First half is a little quirky, but the second half, starting from Here Comes the Sun, is so good
highlights: maxwell's silver hammer, here comes the sun, golden slumber its the beatles what can i say album quality drops off halfway and some songs are grating
An almost perfect finale (I can’t get with “Maxwell’s”). Feels like a celebration of all their collective power; everyone gets to take a bow. Every time they reach the end of the Long Medley and crescendo with “Carry That Weight”, I get slightly choked up because this was The End, for one of the greatest bands in history, and you can feel them feeling it too. A grand curtain call with a tinge of sadness.
Second Beatles album in three days and after their second one last time, glad to get a later album. Interesting to read it’s place in their disbanding and what a classic… First thoughts, two tracks in, what a fucking masterpiece! Little drop off for Maxwells hammer and Oh Darling, but I’ll let it slide. Maybe I least like Paul’s songwriting.. One thing that surprised me about this album (first time listening all the way through - I know!) is the variety through all the songs. Maybe due to fall outs and different directions, but so at odds with 45 minutes of the same Beatles sound all the way through on other albums. Like ‘I Want You’ - amazing madness. And the ending!!! And then straight into the light and love of ‘Here Comes The Sun’. WTF. Love it. Going to just fall short of 5 stars but bloody epic. Listened to it multiple times and will come back to it again (4.5)
Początek chyba lepszy albo straciłem koncentrację. Takie na 4. Lepsze niż starzy beatlesi.
It was good and even sorta calming. A lot of the songs were bangers but they are kinda repetitive.
One of the best ever. Just not one of my favorites ever so ya get a 4
engraçado que esse é absurdamente bom mas tem a música que eu mais odeio dos Beatles xd
Best Song: Oh! Darling. Perhaps the best vocal performance in the entire Beatles oeuvre. It perfectly pulls off that desperate, yearning quality in the lyrics. It truly feels like he's begging to be taken back. Worst Song: Maxwell's Silver Hammer. Ooh they do a hammer noise, how quirky. Overall: A great, albeit weird album. For every brilliant, genre-defining track, that is performed with precision and passion you also get some inane meme song that feels like it was written as the theme for a 60s children's television character. Why must I wander through the Octopus's garden on the way on the way to Something?
Probably my favorite Beatles album
Mye rart og interessant her, men må nok høre flere runder før det skikkelig setter seg. Dog jeg vil høre gjennom de gangene, så det er lovende. Ville høre hver sang.
Love
Solid but not spectacular Beatles album. It’s consistently good, even the Ringo song ain’t that bad. Come Together is way ahead of its time. Here Comes the Sun is iconic, almost feels like a children’s nursery rhyme. I Want You goes to some cool places. Fave Tracks: Come Together, I Want You (She’s So Heavy), Here Comes the Sun, Sun King, Carry That Weight 4.2/5
It’s overplayed but I can’t deny the impact and influence of this album. And yes, it’s their best although I don’t subscribe to greatest album is all time chatter. But this is still a solid album.
Wow if these guys are only the second-best band from Liverpool, I can’t wait to hear China Crisis
So, who doesn't like the Beatles? One of my favorite Beatles songs is on this album, George's "Here Comes the Sun". Nice album overall, nice to listen to this again.
4.5
Very much that Beatles thing where the melodies and harmonies and arrangements and all that are great, but the lyrics are often banal or sheer nonsense.
Iconic album with some all time great songs. Though I believe that a few songs towards the end do start to sound the same and makes it a slog.
It's fun to have a little sing a long moment, not amazing but nostalgic.
Very front heavy. First half? Perfect. Second half? A few good bits
Great
This album is like that strange period at the end of secondary school when you have finished your exams, but you still need to attend the last couple of weeks of school because there are prizegivings and other events to play out. Having literally no responsibilities in terms of your education, you spend your days just hanging out with your friends, drinking in the fact that you have made it to the end of school. These people have been your close friends for at least five years, some of them closer to 13 years as you went to the same primary school. You are all quietly a bit sad because you aren't going to see each other as much next year, as you're all going to universities in different cities. But this isn't the time to get sad about that. You walk around together on a sunny afternoon, reminiscing about memories from different places around the school. Visiting all your favourite haunts like the tuck shop, the brick wall outside the chemistry block, and the small shaded lawn area behind the carpentry building, you can't but look back at your time and thing that you have given school life a red hot run, and enjoyed almost every step.
ngl I kinda get the Beatles hype now
The Beatles piss me off man, I can't even be a proper hater because they're just that fucking good. Minus one star for Maxwell's Silver Hammer.
Iconic album. Even if it isnt your favorite album or if you hate the beatles, its still absolutely worth learning the story behind this album.
A wild collection so varied in styles. Musically strong benefiting from stellar production. Not one for regular listening.
Another genuine classic. This feels like peak Beatles. More interesting lyrics than she loves you yeah yeah yeah but before they were all on drugs and things got weird. Lots of memorable songs but tails off a bit at the end.
Not my favourite Beatles (I’m an early Beatles kinda guy) and the drums keep it tight before it gets *really* weird. But yeah cracking album
Solid. Classic. Not my go to, but won't turn the dial if I stumble on it.
Un grande classico
Das ikonische album mit de strassüberquerig. Mhmmm isch guet. 2 bangers, bar biz komischi, bar lässigi für mich unbekannti songs. Mit bar geile riffs und bass lines. 3 wär scho biz gemein, i die 3er nirvana box z rüehre. Aber 5i isches save nöd. Aso es 4i macht glaubs sinn. Ade merci peeps.
Goood!!! Like most of the songs Can get a bit ballady at times 4.5/5 Fun too
How ironic their last album is my first album of them which I heard. The music is great. It feels experimental but in a good way. Fav- Octopus Garden, Here comes the sun
So nostalgic. Very easy to sing along. One thing I really like is how songs reference one another, makes the album feel like one piece.
Excellent.
What can you say about this album other than it’s a classic.
Another amazing album that set the stage for a legacy. Awesome album.
little bits of filler near the end but its carried hard by the singles, george and ringo had the best songwriting efforts on this whole thing
A great album. I admit I'm not a Beatle's super fan (just a normal one) so I while I like this album a lot I just don't love it.
I adore Abby Road and it boosts some of my favorite Beatles songs of all time but the first side is spotty with some of Paul's most annoying songs.
An obvious classic. The first 7 songs hit after hit after hit. So satisfying. After that the album loses me personally a bit with the quick 2ish minute songs. Not that they’re bad, it just feels like an obvious split.
7/10 Good one
this alnubm is good
It’s the Beatles, it’s great. It has very high highs, although does have some misses and is a bit scattered in a way that is more abrupt then compelling. Still great, but not my favorite
Didn't love all the songs, but I can appreciate them for their impact on music.
Not much I can say about the album that hasn't been said. A classic for a reason.
It's really good, but few too many songs miss the mark for a 5.
The Beatles have better albums and my mother in law is a scouser so can’t give it a 5 out of pure hate
10/10 todas las canciones son buenas
var aðeins efins fyrirfram, en reyndist vera með þeirra bestu verkum. fær hálfan aukalega til að minna mig á meirra. 4,5.
This is probably the most famous Beatles album ever, and yet I feel it's not the best. The best song on this album is the opener, Come Together. But after that it's kinda all downhill. There's not as many memorable songs for the rest of the album. I suspect the album's cover art is what makes it famous more than the songs themselves. That said, I can't in good faith say any songs are bad. It's still classic Beatles.
A bit of the Beatles best work is here, but there’s a bit too much fat around the edges as well.
Great Album. So classic and has some songs that I’ll listen to forever.
Super album , un bonbon acidulée
Beat, 1969 -> 4
It's a great album. The Beatles made a lot of great albums and wrote great songs. Come Together, Something, Here comes the Sun, I want You(She's so heavy), Because, are fabulous songs.
Too much Paul. The Beatles (as we knew them) were done. To me, this album is banal and over-wrought. We still miss you, John. This is as close as a good album can be to a mediocre, run-of-the-mill effort. But there are great songs, even if they are sugar-shite. 3.51 = 4 stars
Enjoyed it. Not the Beatles sound I expected to hear. Will need to listen again to identify favorites
My first Beatles album! I don't fully get it, but you now what, I'm kind of getting there. I really enjoyed all the songs that felt like the chorus and the verses were spliced together from two different genres, e.g. Come Together. I think if the album had stuck to the minor tunes like that and She's So Heavy, it would have been a five star. As it was, the harmonies are gorgeous and if nothing else, there's certainly not a dull song in there. I was properly listening the whole way through. Here Comes The Sun also gives it an extra .5 for being an incredibly nostalgic feelgood song for me, as it's been the background tune for many a family birthday slideshow. A solid 4.5.
I have to imagine I can't really add any useful insight on this one. Really enjoyable, lots of my favorites, kind of makes me want to watch Across the Universe.
My favourite by the Beatles. Every song is at least good and there's stuff like I Want You and The End.
This album is so much better than I remember it being, the ultra-smooth transitions between songs had me mesmerized. Timeless.
4/5
1st a BANGER 2nd obv a banger 3rd was meh 4th me likeyyyy 5th OCTOPUSUSU AHAHAH 6th ok ok groooovy 7th obv banger again 8th meh 9th also meh 10th too slow tbh okay the rest were so msooth i soulnt tell what ended when but solid album ngl only 2 songs left ok ok nice album around 9/10
Me surpreendi positivamente
Great album
Near perfect album. All time great songs on this album however it does contain a few clunkers.
Yes it was a Beatles album. And a good one at that. But it feels more like 4 talented artists all wrote songs separately and in several cases recorded them separately as well. “Something” and “Here Comes the Sun” and two all time greats but George Harrison. “Come Together” and “I Want You” and vintage John Lennon. “She Came In Through the Bathroom Window” and “The End” are vintage Paul McCartney. Then throw in a little Ringo with “Octopus’s Garden” and you’ve got yourself a hit record.
I generally like earlier Beatles over their later stuff, but we'll see how this fares on a relisten here. I know the Beatles are extremely influential and you can't take that away from them, but I'm a firm believer that a lot of their work is extremely overrated. Musically, sure it's good, and some stuff is catchy, but a lot of it is just pretty average. The guitar work carries this album, it always sounds slick and engaging. I have so many conflicts with songs on this album. I really like songs like "Come Together" "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" "Here Comes The Sun" "She Came In Through The Bathroom Window" and "Carry That Weight" but I strongly dislike others like "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" "Octopus's Garden" and "Because." All the others I could take or leave. Thankfully Abbey Road is less weird than some of its predecessors. But I still don't love it, not completely. Its got moments of brilliance interspersed with stretches of mediocrity. A lot of people regard it as one of the best albums of all time but I just don't get it. That said, I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars here. I suppose a 4 is fitting since none of it is really bad, and there are quite a few hits here. Guess I came around a little. I think I could learn to love it given enough time and listens.
Overall, the album certainly had a decent amount of favorites with songs such as: Come Together, Something, Oh Darling, Here Comes the Sun, Because, She Came in Through the Bathroom Window, Golden Slumbers. Maxwell's Silver Hammer was a weird song, but surprisingly enjoyable also. Personally, the 2nd side of the album was where a lot more "filler" was observed since the album has a total of 17 songs. Had the 2nd side of the album been less dense with songs that seemed to weave into each other with no real pauses, this album likely would have gotten a 4.5 or a 5. However, as it stands, this album received a 4/5.
I’ve probably heard all these songs at one point or another but haven’t listened to the full album before. Favorites were Octopuses Garden, I Want You, and Carry That Weight.
Never really been a big Beatles fan, but I found this enjoyable. I really like the diversity of their sound from the different albums that have been on this list.
Personally, I am not a Beatles fan. They have a lot of great songs that I enjoy but I have never done a deep dive into their discography and never have felt a desire to. This is the first top to bottom Beatles experience I have had. It was... sort of as I expected; revolutionary but just not really for me. A lot of the songs just didn't do much for me but I can respect a lot about them. Some of the instrumentals here still feel ahead of their time and they aren't using any wacky crazy instruments to achieve this, the compositions are just that tight. The influence and legacy alone make this album quintessential to the list. I loved the guitar on "I Want You" but was really annoyed by the dramatic cut off. I went to Google hoping to find some artistic value that I missed and it would enhance the silence and transition but.. no... John just liked that and it is what it is. Favorite Song: Come Together - I have always loved how raw the guitar sounds when it comes in. Favorite Moment - Golden Slumbers into Carry That Weight
A really solid album, even with Ringo and his quirky songs it stands out. A great lp with some excellent songs and well worth a listen. Does have some moments when you feel why put this on the album, but generally it's a good album
Actually not my favourite Beatles album. Obviously there are some all-timers here but just doesn't strike the same chord with me as Revolver or Sgt Pepper. Hilarious that Octupus' Garden is on this album.
Excellent. Some of their best songwriting
Has Ringos best setting on it
pretty good and bro liked it a lot
Some weird one in there but overall great musically
I'm not a Beatles fan but I recognize they're one of the most important bands in the world in modern history and I was honestly expecting this to push into "perfect album" territory. It came close but just didn't hit even when I was feeling really open to it. 4/5, with a .5 to make up for my bias and recognizing the importance of this album.
One of the greatest albums of all time!!
Abbey Road sigue sonando actual incluso hoy.
There are probably more Beatles songs I've not heard than have at this point, and I've listened to a lot. I was familiar with many of the songs on this album but even more I had not listend to, I knew them through other compilation albums. It's interesting this was one of the last albums they worked on. I can feel their influence in some of my own writing, my dad had a healthy appetite for them in his youth, so I listened to a fair deal of them growing up. It was neat to listen to this album in its entirety, even though the latter half felt more like demos. I should listen through a few more of their albums, specifically rubber soul. Favorite song - Oh! Darling
Fun and varied, somehow a tight album even with a medley of half finished songs to close it out. Where else would you have songs like Octopus's Garden followed by I Want You (She's So Heavy)? There's something I enjoy about the last real hurrah of the Beatles ending with the simple little ditty of Her Majesty. Favorite Song(s): Medley from You Never Give Me Your Money through Her Majesty
Aside from Because and Her Majesty, I guess it's good. 8/10
Good, classic.
Not fully cohesive and I think that's my issue with Beatles albums. There's a great album in here, but you'd have to make some cuts to get something that really sings.
Gran, gran disco.
For one of the most famous albums of all time there’s a decent amount of filler here! Come Together is a great opener but too subdued. You Never Give Me Your Money, Golden Slumbers, and Carry That Weight were the standouts for me. I still don’t understand the worship but it’s a good listen.
i will say, this album does feel a bit dis-jointed with how the songs are set up. i feel like some songs are more of the 'Sgt. Pepper' sound, while others try to be a bit more straight forward. i could almost see this being a 3 star album for me, but at the end of the day there are so many awesome songs that it feels wrong to do that. i do enjoy this album, and the Beatles in general, but i think i actually prefer their earlier stuff.
bangers and mash
I have listened to the Beatles before but I don’t think I’ve ever heard Abbey Road before. I do like the parts of this album that don’t sound like they’re drugged out of their minds. I can see why this album is considered to be one of the greatest of all time!
Starts off pretty strong and then Paul shows up with his cast of cartoon characters. The medley is fun though. She's So Heavy is my personal fave. Sometimes when bands are falling apart they make their most interesting music, but not this time.
Loved it
Because it's Beatles it's good, but it's not great Beatles.
I enjoyed this album a lot more than I expected, and I think I'm now a fan of the Beatles as well. Great musicians. Great songwriters. Great album.
Alright, I've officially converted to being a Beatles fan. I absolutely love George Harrison's guitars throughout the album. It's never just simple chords. Also shoutout to Paul with some sweet bass lines and Ringo with some creative drumming. This album also dabbles into psychedelic rock, prog rock... Maybe it's because we've been listening to the later albums of the Beatles, but they're more than just the girl-adoring "Beatle-mania". These are legit musicians who crafted their legacy as one of the greatest groups of all time. Kudos Beatles, kudos.
Got this recommendation only three days after my first Beatles suggestion (The Beatles/White Album). They have been my first two experiences of listening to Beatles albums in full. While I thought the White Album was solidly good, Abbey Road was definitely the better of the two. I think my main reason for liking AR more is that its high points reached higher than those on the White Album. There are songs here that actually feel like they are great, compared to just being really good. Something and I Want You were excellent. Here Comes the Sun and Oh, Darling were great too. The medley at the end was really well executed and a great listen, and I liked that a lot. The songs just seemed better, even if some still were simply good instead of great. As I mentioned in the previous review, the Beatles were great at songwriting. That is again showcased here. The songs have diversity, but work well together. They go from a harder rock to a soft ballad with ease. Songs vary from long and complex to short and sweet, and both types are well constructed. The medley works as one larger piece or as smaller sections. The instrumentation and vocals are expertly composed throughout. On the other hand, this album did have a few low spots that were probably worse than those on the White Album. I did not care at all for Maxwell's Silver Hammer. Octopus' Garden was fine at best, but not very good. I'm sure there are people who love them. For me, though, they bring it down a bit, even if the album still is really strong overall. As a whole, this album is really, really good. It could be better, mainly due to a couple songs that were pretty weak. That's the only reason it falls a little short of an all-time great for me. Overall: 4.25/5
Definitely one I enjoyed more on a second listen - I think on the first listen I was only looking for the songs I knew well, but on a second listen I was able to enjoy it as an album. Lots of songs here that I loved but I’m not sure about the Medley towards the end. Fav song: Oh! Darling - also liked Here Comes the Sun, Come Together and Golden Slumbers Least fav: Mean Mr Mustard
Not my favourite Beatles album but still some absolute bangers here I mean come on. People don’t like maxwells silver hammer but I actually love it. Like how each song flowed at the end but thought it was the weakest part. Specific rating- 4.4 Fav song- maxwells silver hammer Least fav- sun king
Iconic cover, iconic songs! Feel like the medley could easily have been lots of great independent songs without all the linking bits (and without some of the songs...). But that's me being overly critical, it's objectively a great album with the perfect mix of pure fun and emotion. Favourite: Here Comes The Sun Least: I Want You (She's So Heavy)
I really like You Never Give Me Your Money and Golden Slumbers
As someone who hadn't really listened through any full Beatles albums before going through this site, the ones I had rolled over the course of the journey made the eventual Abbey Road day decently exciting Now that it's come and I've listened to it, I don't really see the appeal or why it's the site's best album of all time (whenever Rumours isn't leading the polls) or even the best of the Beatles It feels like they went from the peak of Revolver (so catchy, ahead of its time, moments where it sounds like it descended to mortal hands from outer space) to Sgt. Pepper (innovative, maybe a little more unbalanced in its high and low moments, A Day in the Life still one of the greatest songs of the decade) to the white album (interesting just by the idea of its existence, two hours of maybe the most revolutionary band of the 60s, a good chunk of standouts from fun to pleasant) to this, and things just feel a little lukewarm It had some nice moments, the change from I Want You (She's So Heavy) to the pleasant feeling of Here Comes The Sun, the drama of the close of The End, and I accept that the big tracks on this album didn't hit me as much as they hit for other people, and I might be lacking in holistic view when judging an album Still it's the Beatles, they stand out from the crowd in a way that defies simple traditional judgment, and it warrants a 4
This is definitely an album I've grown to appreciate more over time. Though I don't ever see myself enjoying it as much as their more psychedelic period, this album does have one of my all-time favorite Beatles tracks: "I Want You (She's So Heavy)." And it's really impressive that they were able to craft an album with this level of musicianship and cohesiveness, especially considering the band was pretty much on the verge of collapse due to internal tensions. I can only imagine how difficult it was to set their differences aside, given the level of resentment, and knowing that they were likely done as a band once this album was completed.
It's the Beatles, it's always better than you remember it being
I have already listened to this album. It is good, but I am kind of bored of it, solely because I have listened to this album and the Beatles a lot already.
Lot of great songs on here. Come together, oh darling, something, here comes the sun. I dont like the more experimental songs on the album, such as mean mr mustard.
Ok, I’ve listened to a Beatles album. This is a good one to start with, honestly. A couple of certified hits on here, “Come Together” and “Here Comes The Sun” are the two biggest. I won’t go so far as to say I loved it, but I definitely didn’t hate it. Quite enjoyable for the most part.
An obvious classic. I have never listened to the whole album, and I have only ever listened to the hits. I liked some and didn’t like others. At times, I felt that I was listening to children’s music. The hits are the hits for a reason. I have never been a huge Beatles fan, but I enjoyed listening to this full album.
Amazing. Favorite so far
What can I say except that they're the f'n Beatles, man? First time listening all the way through this album, and I loved it. Great Friday morning album. Loved the run from Sun King through Golden Slumbers where I couldn't tell where each song ended or started. I Want You sees The Beatles at their heaviest, and it's beautiful. They revolutionized songwriting and the sounds of music in such a short span of time, and this entire album exemplifies that. If you aren't listening to "Here comes the sun" and "Come Together" on the radio, I'd recommend listening to the entire album front to back any time. Highly recommend.
A classic through and through
it's nice but i dont get the magic.
A side is just so much stronger than the b.
Letzteres besteht aus mehreren ineinander übergehenden Stücken, darunter „Golden Slumbers“, „Carry That Weight“ und „The End“. Das Album enthält auch Ringo Starrs einziges Schlagzeugsolo bei den Beatles. „Abbey Road“ zeigt die Band in einer Phase musikalischer Reife und technischer Weiterentwicklung. Trotz interner Spannungen gelang ein geschlossenes Werk, das sowohl kompositorisch als auch produktionstechnisch überzeugt. Es markiert den letzten gemeinsamen Studioauftritt der Beatles.
Groovy stuff... I particularly like: Here Comes the Sun, Golden Slumbers, The End and Octopus's Garden. First proper listen to a Beatles Album, love to see all the other stuff these young strapping men have put out!
Yeah, these guys were good.
beautiful
Całkiem spoko. W końcu to Beatles
Great album. Lots of good songs.
Wish I could do 4.5. Great songs, although a couple of the novelty ones fell flat. Felt like a lot of musical ideas that sounded great, but wish there was a bit more meat behind them.
Hot take: I love side 2. Such a weird, fun eclectic group of songs that pack a punch. From side 1, top picks from said side are probably OCTOPUS’S GARDEN and I WANT YOU (peak Lennon blues). As I relisten to some of the deeper cuts, I may revisit review to give a 5 (see: MAXWELL’S SILVER HAMEMR).
I’ve never listened to this album in its entirety before, and i was definitely missing out. i very much enjoyed the different sounds and styles of this album. “Oh! Darling” is probably my favorite song off this album just from the vocals alone.
thought i would be tired of beatles again but this actually went hard with the last few songs and their seamless transitions :)
Patchy but very listenable. Some really great, heavy tracks.
Molto meglio rispetto all'altro album, molto più catchy.
AH, BEE road
Y'know, for an album so well regarded as a masterpiece I expected it to be less messy. I mean, as a card carrying Beatles apologist it is still a great album don't get me wrong, but to be up there with Rumors? Are we sure? The Maxwell's Silver Hammer album? I mean it's a 4 and that's good, also Ringo Starr songs are awesome, I love Octopus's Garden.
Iconic and underwhelming. This is a case of generational genius hidden amongst Paul’s “Granny Music”. As high as some of the individual highs are (Something, Come Together, I Want You), they’re inevitably brought down by the lowest lows (Maxwell, Octopus’ Garden, Mr. Mustard). It’s the most schizophrenic great album of all time.
Some classics .Great production and harmonies
Dang there was a lot of good shit on here. It didn’t feel very cohesive though. It certainly showed that the Beatles were at their end, and going in different directions. As a while I wouldn’t consider this a 5, but there is a lot of great stuff to take away from the album.
yeah obv
A record that sounds utterly different from their earlier efforts. It feels like a seventies album sonically. Some great songs, though I've never been a big fan of a few of them (Maxwell, Oh Darlin', the song suite)
4.5/5
Amazing loved it, some songs were very short though
Favorite song: Here comes the sun Least Favorite song: I Want You (She's So Heavy) I dont love the beetles
Best Beatles album
Well it's the Beatles say no more. Great Album, maybe revolver/ White Album/ rubber soul or S.P.L.H.C.B will score higher or I'll have to re score once all are listened to. 4.2/5
Partially listened before
Stories about the creation of this album and the tension among the persons in the studio are legendary. Even the nicest Beatle (Ringo), had had his fill of the others and their girlfriends hanging around like human shields. I like to think that Ringo insisted on recording "Octopus' Garden" just a big ol' middle finger to the rest of them, because that song is awful. But the underappreciated and truly fifth Beatle here was Billy Preston, who made a silk purse of Side Two out of the sow's ears of half-finished compositions.
It's ok overall, with some very good individual tracks, but I've never been a big Beatles fan.
At last time for something iconic. I don't even listen to the Beatles often but this is generally great. Some less engaging moments but that doesn't affect its status. Highlights: Come Together Here Comes The Sun The End
I've heard this album so many times before, there's a lot of nostalgia baked into it at this point. Still dig the medley on the B side of the album. A very Beatles album showcasing hits from every member of the band. "I wrote a song about an Octopus!" -Ringo Starr
I really like some of the songs on here but the Paul McCartney ones stink so much. Overall it feels more like a choppy playlist/collection of songs than a cohesive album. Maybe there’s something I’m not getting? All that being said, there are a couple bangers on here like I Want You (She’s So Heavy) and you can tell how much work went into recording the record. Not my first choice of album, but I’m sure I will listen again at some point because it’s the damn Beatles.
Absolute classic. Very excited to finally give it a listen! Aside from the ones I already knew, Something was good, Golden Slumbers was satisfying to listen to, and The End felt deserving of the name. Her Majesty was funny. On the other hand, I Want You was 5 minutes too long and Because was boring.
Not my favorite Beatles record, but still amazing.
I used to say One Direction could do what the Beatles did but the Beatles couldn't do what One Direction did, but I see the error in my ways now. The Beatles aren't that bad.
Every Beatles album is good. This one always has skips for me. I just don’t get I Want You (She’s so Heavy). There are other parts I don’t care for.
Another one of these I own a physical copy of. I love the later drug fueled Beatles albums, but this one is probably my least favorite. Still a great album.
It’s the Beatles so of course it’s iconic, but not their best
Nie dosłuchałam całości, ale to co mi się udało to bardzo mi się podobało O Beatlesach słuchal każdy, ale pierwszy raz miałam okazje przesłuchać ich albumu w całości Na pewno wrócę
Surprisingly good
Great album by great musicians, not the best. Good send-off, though. I listened to my parents' copy but had to clean it up prior to doing so as it was just the bare record in the jacket.
