One first though on listening today was: what's not to like? An album that works, and that leave you feeling better for having listened.
Struggled with this one...couldn't find a way in.
If you've got an arse, this is going to set it in motion.
Amazing. Fun and energy from first to last. Give me more!!!
A Nick Cave fan, so this gets five stars.
Couple of big, big songs, but it lost its hold on me in places.
This was on my "give a proper listen to" list, sobthanks for the nudge.
I wasn't expecting much...
...and this delivered. I couldn't find any way to connect at all.
Beautiful album. Overdue a listen. Easy five stars.
Wow. That was good. Two years old when that came out, so kinda missed it first time around.
Really enjoyed this one, I'll be listening to it again.
Love this album. One of Radiohead's best.
This is like someone said "Ray, do us a favour mate, make the quintessential, slightly camp, UK 60s / 70s pop album", and they've nailed it!
Great album, probably Van Morrison's most popular, all killer.
I've loved this from since its first release.
I was overdue a listen of this...it's okay isn't it?
The dreaded U2! Had to happen sooner or later! Actually not bad at all, nice surprise!
Not for me this one...
...'tho it got lots of good reviews, subjectively, just didn't connect.
I'm sure this is wonderful but that is two in a row I have trouble finding a way into. It's a classic and well loved and was one of those "every home must have one" albums in its day...just not one for me.
Hadn't listened to that enough...
First ever listen. This was okay, there'll be another listen to this one.
Forget great album, this is an absolute top work of art, a rare 10/10.
Actually surprised me by being okay.
Passed me by to be honest.
I like Sonic Youth, hadn't listened to this before, will be listening to it again.
Gave this a listen, a good friend I lost loved them. More light and shade than I expected, not for me though.
Great album I'm sure, but I'm not a fan.
This was a brilliant listen, faultless.
I loved this at first listen. Not anything I'd usually listen to but so we'll done, amazing album.
Love this album. In the top ten jazz category, comfortably.
The singles are great, but the filler is a massive drop off, quality wise.
Faultless. Best NC&BS for me.
This always leaves me with a grin on my face, on YouTube searching Timelords' Doctorin the Tardis...
...The KLF had a knack of hitting the spot and making it look like an accident.
Really liked this album, finally got past that Best Of collection and glad I did.
On a roll. Another faultless album.
Familiar songs and a warm, comforting album. Nice.
I've only got the Best Of album Bjork compiled from her fans' responses, good to listen to something else. Medúlla was brilliant, loved it.
Great listen. In my Radiohead top 5 albums.
New one to me. Okay album.
Gave it a listen. Not horrible but it's not getting a further listen!
I like Nebraska, in my top three Springsteen albums I think.
Brilliant album. Had a copy, now long gone, when it was first issued.
This comes off my vinyl shelves and onto the turntable. Genius. Had a Party for Your Right to Fight earworm all day.
Brilliant album, great story.
I've needed to listen to this for ages, so thanks for the kick up the arse! Love version on Spotify is cool. I'll find the studio version and listen again.
Loved this. Can't go wrong with Blue Note really. Wouldn't have given it a listen without this app.
Not anything I'd usually listen to, this is an okay album.
First ever listen to these guys, love this album.
I've always liked this album, thanks for the reminder!
Got my copy of the shelf.
I find Led Zep a bit overwrought on longer pieces, prefer their short, four minute rock n roll songs. This is an okay album, tho'.
Should've listened to this before...nice.
Year I was born! Fantastic album, magic. Great energy. Great songs.
Genuine double album without a scrap of filler. Genius.
Mr Skin was on that muscle man sampler in the 1970's. Great album.
I've under played this. Good album.
Nice. Preferred the higher energy numbers, but it was a morning listen!
First hearing, some blues, soul, some jazz and some folk. Well good.
I know nothing about C&W, but this is okay.
I guess you'd have to be in the mood for this. Just not a mood I'm often in 😂.
I love this album. Start to finish brilliant.
Singles are okay. Okay-ish, anyway.
I thought this was a decent, strong album. Quality.
Love this, I think it's their best.
Okay album. Listened while training, suited that activity.
First Madonna album I've listened to. That was good.
I forgot how good this was, thanks for the reminder!
First listen to this, not bad!
Can't go wrong with Otis, can you?
First full MIA album for me, not at all bad 👍
First saw High Masekela at Artists Against Apartheid, Clapham Common, a great day, generally, and Coal Train (not on this album) still sends shivers down my spine. Great man, great album.
This is always cited as their best, or top three at least, isn't it?
Hadn't come across these guys before, now I know they exist I'll listen some more!
Struggle, but listened to all of it.
This will be my first listen to a Coldplay album...will it be music by bed-wetters for bed-wetters? It's wasn't all that bad, TBF.
New Fiona Apple album, to me anyway! Great!
Noisy, brash, what's not to like?
Hadn't heard of these. I'm not sure how this album made it in here. It's okay, no more than that.
Not as good, throughout, as I expected.
Saw these this month, they were great live! Fantastic album.
I'd never dream of listening to this without the prompt. Brilliantly well done, well crafted, fantastic album.
Elvis Costello is genius.
First listen to this, okay album.
Listened while on the rowing machine. Worked well for a workout!
This is one I have on vinyl. Not by accident, but by design, the only Rolling Stones album I own. It's a sprawling old mess with bit of a backstory, and it's the only Stones album anyone really needs!
First listen to this, and to an Echo and the Bunnymen album TBF, and it's okay. 👍
This is absolute genius from one of the best piano trios ever.
First time I've heard this, recognized the opening song, decent
First listen to these. Not bad...
Wanted to like this, liked about 50% of it.
Loved this since it first came out.
First listen to this and first full Black Keys album. No bad!
Sure this is very good but I couldn't connect to it.
Absolute masterpiece IMO.
I saw John Martyn about the time this was released.
Best Radiohead album? I think so.
Great album, enjoyed that one.
I've had copies of this since first issue. Side one is as near perfect an album side as I can remember hearing.
That Santana's Greatest Hits everyone had...this is virtually it!
Overdue another listen to this. Some decent songs on here.
The cd was a car staple for a while. Vegan, Moby boils piss in people who need their piss boiled.
Own this, seen these live, Brixton Academy, so long ago it's unbelievable. Great album.
Looked forward to this. Great album.
Wasn't expecting to like this because he's turned out to be such a knob. Actually it was okay.
Just not music I'd ever listen to, really. Nothing wrong, I just can't connect for some reason.
I'll be listening to this again!
C&W isn't my first choice. Not as bad as I feared.
Couldn't get into this at all.
This came off the shelf and onto the turntable, magic album.
Some bangers, some filler.
Loved this, new to me, going to find more.
Boiled the piss of old white guitar shaggers, so five stars for that alone. Not bad, either.
Okay album, felt it fell away with the final songs.
It did sound a bit "old" to me, not bad, just not fresh, very 1960's. Austin Powers 1960's.
One of the best on this list.
Disclosure: I own a copy.
Much, much better than expected, based on the cover art and year of release!
Decent. Just outside that top three Stones of Exile, Sticky Fingers and Let It Bleed.
Really well crafted, nice, but not one I'll listen to again.
Older kids had copies of this when I was at school. I'd only really heard Suite Judy Blue Eyes. Nice album.
Genius. Should be on the curriculum.
Full of great riffs, really liked this. Always forget to listen to Yes.
Playing my copy of this. Absolute gem of an album.
Every home should have one.
Great live album. Top stuff.
Awesome album. HH slipped into jazz funk, smashed it, moved on.
Saw the live tour where they played this in full, awesome.
Okay for yesterday's weights workout music.
Classic album. Brings da ruckus. Innit.
First listen, liked it, worth playing again.
Disclosure: I own a copy of this album, and love it.
Liked that, played it while training, not bad at all.
Struggle with Genesis TBH.
Plenty of talent to Talking Heads outside of David Byrne.
Own this, good reason to dig out the vinyl. Underplayed.
Played this while training and it was okay.
Absolute gem. Essential listening.
Own a copy of this, I think it's their best album.
I'll search out more by these guys.
The only bad thing out of New Orleans is the plane home.
First listen to these guys.
Top three best ever. Beyond essential. Imperative. Every home needs one.
Nice to go beyond that 'best of' album!
Not for me, couldn't connect.
Only a personal opinion, I love Baba O'Reilly and Won't Get Fooled Again, the rest's a bit meh.
Love these guys, legends.
About time I gave this a listen.
Didn't know this existed. Glad I do now
He went on bit of an unbroken run of genius albums, didn't he?
New to me and really good
Absolutely no connection.
Boring. Nicely done. Not for me tho'.
End-to-end Ace of Spades clones, TBH. Quite enjoyable.
First listen to these guys, nice album.
Clapton is a racist. He's pro foxhunting. I can't separate that out. Shit album anyway.
Essential. Picked this up first time around.
First listen to these guys, nice.
Not as bad as anticipated.
Loved that. Some brilliant moments.
Everyone needs to listen to this!
I've hit a bad run of time wasting albums...
Short concise songs. Liked it.
Better than expected...but expectations were low.
The soundtrack to a MAGA party.
Only listened to Odelay before this. Nice!
First listen to a nice album 👍
KW's best. What happened?
First listen, loved that. Cross between the Cocteau Twins and the Jesus and Mary Chain.
Ok. Not Forever Changes tho'.
Wasn't looking forward to this, but it's excellent!
Found I'd heard all the album without ever having listened to it in full before. Nice..
Amazing band, amazing story, amazing set at Love Supreme, amazing album.
Amazing. Pretty abstract experience, forgot how good this is.
One star for the drums, one star for the energy, and a third for the amount of piss they've boiled. One for luck.
Dated. Hasn't worn so well, has it?
Side two = near perfection.
Essential. Saw them play the album live a couple of years ago. Magic night.
Was dreading this...wasn't so bad at all.
Read some reviews, one said "too many singer songwriters, not enough Coltrane" which I agree with. Came at this neutral, the point of this for me is exploring outside usual zones, and it's pretty good.
First listen, very good album.
First listen to a nice album.
Ok. Just a bit old sounding.
First listen, wonderful, being taken somewhere new is what this is all about.
Thank you! A great band I'd not come across before!
Magical album from a favourite.
Good album, enjoyed that.
Absolutely essential listening.
Okay. Bad not updating the cover.
The vinyl copy came off the shelf for this listen...an essential album I think.
Nowhere near as bad as the reviews suggest.
Enjoyed a first listen to these guys.
First listen to this, nice.
Creepy looking cover. Got in the car and drove to where I needed to be with this playing. Didn't hardly notice it was on. Nothing at all wrong with it. Just didn't apply to me.
First listen to this, loved it!
Miles better than expected.
An essential listen I think.
First listen to a marvellous movie soundtrack, not something I'd normally listen to.
Dated. Not horrible but very dated.
Perfect for a gym session. Wherever you pigeonhole it, it brings some feel good energy.
First listen to this album and this band, I'll check out their other stuff.
Saw these guys live. Tore the roof off.
Good album, but I've always liked these guys.
First listen to a fantastic album.
Hadn't heard this before. Not one for me but decently done.
One their three to definitely hear along with Exile and Sticky Fingers.
Couldn't get into that at all
Nice, bit of a dated feel to it though.
First listen to a really good album.
That was ok. First listen to this band.
Sonic cliche, but no so horrible.
Preaching to the choir, it's got to be funnier than this... perhaps it once was.
Not big on U2, first listen, not so bad!
Fantastic album. Love it.
Nice album. I like Nico's voice.
Really enjoyed that. Like these guys.
As soon as I forgot 'album' and regarded this as a song cycle it made more sense.
Liked that. Made me laugh.
First listen to this, nice album.
Ok. Not my bag. That's on me.
This is a without X, you wouldn't have A, B, C album, where A, B and C are equally fantastic.
First time hearing a really good album.
First real listen to Tori Amos. Nice. Bit Kate Bush-y here and there.
Absolutely essential listening.
New artist new album first listen for me. Nice one!
Red vinyl on the TT. Marvellous.
Bit dated but not horrible.
First listen to these guys, fantastic.
Bit bootleg Beatles. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood.
First listen, loved that!
That's gonna boil some piss innit...
First listen. Moments but largely pretty meh.
Wonderful album from a great band.
First listen to a fantastic album
Brilliant album, loved that.
Really enjoyed that. Who knew?
Bloody marvellous. Enjoy yourself.
First listen to a very good album.
Wow! Brilliant album good call!
First listen and that's amazing.
Not much too wrong with that.
An essential album from a band that hardly put out anything less than essential.
I like The White Stripes.
Fist listen. No problem with this, none at all.
That was a glorious listen, thank you.
Never heard of the album or the band and it was brilliant.
TBH I listened to Big Audio Dynamite instead. Don't listen to racists: “Stop Britain from becoming a black colony. Get the foreigners out,” exclaimed Clapton to his captive audience. “Get the w*gs out. Get the c**ns out. Keep Britain white,” he added.
Just part of the rant. This is a problem for me.
In full: “Do we have any foreigners in the audience tonight? If so, please put up your hands … So where are you? Well, wherever you all are, I think you should all just leave. Not just leave the hall, leave our country … I don’t want you here, in the room or in my country. Listen to me, man! I think we should send them all back. Stop Britain from becoming a black colony. Get the foreigners out. Get the wogs out. Get the coons out. Keep Britain white … The black wogs and coons and Arabs and f*cking Jamaicans don’t belong here, we don’t want them here. This is England, this is a white country, we don’t want any black wogs and coons living here. We need to make clear to them they are not welcome. England is for white people, man … This is Great Britain, a white country, what is happening to us, for f*ck’s sake? … Throw the wogs out! Keep Britain white!”
First listen to a fantastic album.
Gold. Gotta love FGTH. Or there's something very very wrong.
Honestly, this was okay, just too dippy for me.
An essential listen from a massive talent.
First listen, that was okay.
First listen, decent enough album.
Sort of the soundtrack to an as yet unmade Austin Powers film, in a massively good way.
Essential. Needs to be heard.
Not bad. They may have something.
Better than I anticipated.
Brilliant album. First listen loved that!
A work of absolute genius, still fresh, still relevant, still mind-blowing.
Nice album. Enjoyed a first listen to that.
Not too horrible. Not all that exciting.
Classic. Bit dated now, but a classic.
Ok, not one for a repeat listen
Dazzling must hear album from a wonderful band
First listen to the album if not all the songs, nice!
Painless. Entirely decent album.
Singles ok, rest is filler.
I think it would need further listens. Which it isn't getting.
Good album. My first listen to this one.
Essential. Pulled the vinyl off the shelf for this one. Every home should have a copy.
Never got into UB40... should've.
First listen to these guys and I'm not having a bad week in terms of new music worth giving an ear to.
Magic album from an absolute genius.
A must have album. No brainer.
I love the Chemical Brothers.
A poor listen in every way.
First listen to a decent album.
My first listen to an interesting and unusual album.
Ok. No more than ok, tho'.
Liked this and the amount of righteous piss it boils.
Great late night listening.
Very bland, very beige, very boring.
That's new to me and pretty wonderful.
Loved this for a long time...
First listen to this album and to Mike Ladd. It's very good.
First listen to these guys, good innit.
