Nothing stands out except Maybe This Hollywood Life. Sub-Bowie, identity-less dull pastiche. What I have heard of Butler's other work is more interesting than this.

Dylan's best 70's album. Tangled up in Blue may be his best song. Each track is great, showcasing a renewed lyrical strength and a mostly stripped back instrumentation. I even like the much maligned Lily, rosemary and the Jack of hearts! The only thing better (to me) is the original 1974 test pressing.

Very early Davis, that sounds like jazz to me. I definitely don't know enough about the period to understand how it differs. Sound pretty cool for music recorded in 1949!

I know the name, but I'm not sure I've ever heard any Steve Winwood. You definitely know, you are in the 80's from the first note. Something about the cleanliness of the sounds I don't like, but that could be my own 80 bias even though this is only 1980. Reminds of Peter Gabriel, but maybe it should be the other way around.

Not sure how I missed this album. Selma's songs was the last album I listened to by Bjork, was a big fan of her previous 3 albums. I was even listening to Matmos at the time. Anyway this is a fantastic album, flows really well, maybe lacks a peak, but great beats and lyrics, and her voice of course!

Had stopped listening to Beck by this album, probably a couple before. Ok, starts great. Dulls a little. That 90s/2000s track bloat. Still the best Beck I have heard in a long time.

Have not listened to this in a long time. Wow, so much variety, depth, and humour to everything. The best album in weeks. There has been a slight improvement in the albums, hopefully it contines.

I have heard some of these tracks before. I think maybe I had too high expectations for this. I had assumed this was some radical departure from his normal stuff, but it still sounds like him. The electric side is fine.
