I quite like some of the songs on this album, but I have no clue as to why it's on the list.
None of the songs were bad, but none were exceptional, either. Quite a forgettable album. I can't see why it would be one of the 1089 most notable albums.
I know I look like a barbarian giving this review. I'm sure to the 1950s ear this was incredible, but I suppose in the 20s it no longer dazzles. No songs stood out to me. Still good, of course. (Addendum: I looked at some of the other reviews after writing mine and apparently about 80% of people have the same sort of opinion as mine. Not a barbarian after all!)
I like it. Not sure I will ever listen to it again.
Pretty good. I liked Month of May - it reminded me of Rent. Not sure this is an album you NEED to listen to before death, though.
I liked Student Demonstration Time. All of the other songs made me fall asleep, since they were so boring.
Who knew they made a whole group out of the Weird Al song CNR? Good album
Album's pretty good, ignoring Lewis' insane proclivities.
Technically good but practically boring.
Enjoyed listening to it, but I've already forgotten all the songs. Not very memorable.
Sounds good. Probably genius.

I wasn't expecting to like this. I also wasn't expecting all the songs to be so long.
Not a fan of this slow style of jazz.
My thoughts within the first 30 seconds were: "Is this just robot music?". Yes it is, and it's glorious.
First half of this album is dull. Second half's great.
Pretty boring. Did enjoy All I Wanna Do, which is a bit more Fun.
Goes hard.
Interesting sound design.
Was good, but nothing was especially notable to my 21st century ears.
I know very little about singing, but the singing on this album seemed awful. Every other part was good, though. If they weren't it'd be 0 stars.
I can imagine these songs would be good live. Via headphones, though, the album is so boring.
At first I was inclined to give 2 stars; its just random notes and trumpet improvising. After listening some more, I remembered that I actually quite like disorganized notes. The trumpet playing is interesting - as a modern trumpeter (albeit not a very good one) it doesn't seem revolutionary, but I also wasn't alive in 1969, so... Also, the bit of it being a full length album consisting of 2 tracks is just so good.
Solid punk rock. Kind of curious why it's on the list - is this one of the first of this type of punk? It doesn't sound super exciting to me as a hard-core punk fan who somehow has never listened to Minor Threat - did they invent this type of stuff?
Enjoyed it, though I don't remember a single song. Liked the lower power singing.
I quite like some of the songs on this album, but I have no clue as to why it's on the list.
I can see why this is so influential. Still didn't capture me much.
Saw that this was ska. Thought "oh, I'll probably like this" I did! The mixing is great. The drums really popped, especially in the album's first half.
I think this album was made in a lab to be as boring as possible.
Some reviewers are acting like this is the worst album in the West. It's not; it's okay. I didn't hate listening to it, and some of the parts were neat.
I've always felt like I ought to like Talking Heads, but I just can't get into them. The album was alright. None of the song stuck out to me and the outtakes were awfully repetitive, but I enjoyed listening to it.
For art to be worth seeing, something must happen, or it must be beautiful. An action movie has something happen, but isn't beautiful. Alice Munro's stories are beautiful, but nothing happens. Rzewski's variations on Pueblo Unido are beautiful and have things occur in it. This album fulfills neither requirement. Fortunately, it doesn't sound actively bad and thus it gets a 2.
I've never met an open U2 fan. The song "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" begins so promisingly, with exciting 360 sound, but immediately devolves into lame nonsense. The rest of the album doesn't have an ounce of fascinating stuff in it. Tired of this. The album is mixed so well, too. Wasted on this junk! The top review which says that a zoomer wouldn't believe that these guys sell out stadiums is correct. I know who U2 are and I don't understand. There are so many amazing bands, especially in the 80s, which aren't tripe. Maybe they're like the Irish Tragically Hip, another lousy band which people love for some reason unknown to anyone but the Lord.
Good punk tunes, and enjoyed the mixing with jazz. I will admit, I was a little bit tired of it by the end.
Nice fun rock. I liked it more than the singer's solo album.
Good stuff. Exciting after receiving 300 (hyperbole) soul albums off this list.
People glaze this band so hard, so I had high expectations. Turns out its just a guy with a strange accent scream-talking leftist things through a hard-core band. The album sounds 90% the same as the two Limp Bizkit songs I've heard, and people hate them! What am I missing? On the topic of the lyrics, of course they are going to be relevant "30 years later". Lyrics that boil down to "da goberment sux" are going to be relevant 300 years later. It isn't exactly some sort of amazing predictive power that a civilization still has flaws however many years after you write lyrics criticizing it. I say all this as a bonafide leftoid.
The first bit of the album is great. Not a fan of the second half.
I would do a better job than the vocalist and I do not know how to sing. At least the other instruments were good.
Enjoyable classic rock. I liked "Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad?". Layla's electric guitar part sounds so much like the Russian song "Белая ночь" by Forum. Seriously, listen... did they plagiarize!? Its from 1985, so some Western music may have gotten into the USSR. CAPTIVATING MYSTERY
Pretty boring. Definitely preferred "The Suburbs" from these Montréal warriors
"I'm The Man Who Loves You" was interesting, with a unique guitar part. If only the rest of the album was. I'm starting to think "indie" is a label that just means the music isn't very good.
There's something enigmatic hidden in here. Didn't find it, but maybe I will later.
Well, That's Alright. My only real complaint is that the cover is giving MS Paint. Also, the Spotify description of this guy is ruthless! "One-chord" and "primitive"‽
I was expecting to like this more, but it's still pretty good.
Shocking: Beatles pretty good
