Reviews (page 16 of 16)
Sounds great, the singles are excellent, but very shouty.
July 21, 2021 I haven't listened to this in forever and forgot how much I like it. First three tracks are amazing. This album rocks.
Not as good as everyone made out.
Hard not to give this a perfect 5/5. So many great songs and a few pretty good ones mixed in. RIP Kurt.
Nirvana’s Nevermind as a collection of songs is like the pattern camouflage; edgy and cool in tasteful doses, but a red flag if it’s the entire outfit. An hour straight of music that sounds like this is too much music that sounds like this. I feel the same way about the Beatles. Maybe this is not a productive thing to say. Anyways, this album’s influence on other stuff that I’ve listened to is undeniable, and it’s aesthetic consistency and commitment to its sound and themes is admirable. I’d put a couple songs from this into a playlist so that my friends think I’m cool, but otherwise wouldn’t listen all the way through again. I feel like people who 10/10 this album or say this is their favorite album are the kind of people whose favorite movie is Fight Club or Pulp Fiction
Ok obviously I love this album. In my top, like, fifty maybe? It's so pop yet so fucked up sounding plus it has Kurt Cobain, who obviously is great and he can write a hook for sure, no kidding. We basically have Charlie xcx instead of this, which I'm honestly fine with, think it's a compliment to both artists. Great cover art. I mean color scheme, composition, very anticap, great lettering, great kerning, great baby. I might like in utero better, is that crazy? Relistening, I honestly forgot how good the basslines are on this thing, way better than they need to be considering the lyricism and popstructured grunge. Standouts: Smells like teen spirit, come as you are, Lithium, territorial Pissings, Something in the way. Just some live commentary: Smells like teen spirt. Iconic. Love imagining different stupid dumb lyrics. All time great air guitar song. Come as you are, great bassline. Lithium is better though, plus my favorite lyrics on the album and you can really hear Kurt's voice. Yeah pollys lyrics are fucked up for sure. I want Tropical Fuck Storm to cover this @tropicalfuckstorm Territorial pissings, great deep cut, I feel underrated. Sounds like FIDLA R or wavves, more proof Kurt can write good hook. I like when his voice cracks, very hendrixesque overall. Something in the way, very atmospheric. Sounds like Campdogzz, kinda sad funny lyrics. I would play endless, nameless to someone I wanted to dislike Nirvana, unless they're coming from a heavy rock background, and then i might just play this first.
The album that defined a generation. How many bands would we not know because of this album? How many bands did we find because we wanted more like this. Yes there are better grunge albums. But this one was THE ONE. Stand out tracks: Come as you Are, Lithium, Something in the Way 4.5 but leaning towards 5
What more can you say other than this album is great from beginning to end.
Likely my most listened to album; a younger me spent countless hours spinning this little aqua gem around the Panasonic Shockwave discman. This is grungey punk with pop hooks perfected. Every song on the albums serves a purpose; no skippers--all rippers! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This album is famed for changing alternative music, and I can see why. Enjoyed this album from start to finish, it sounded well mixed, my only issue is I don't remember much about the last few tracks as they seemed less distinctive than the rest. Very torn between 4 and 5 stars, as I really enjoyed the album, but it isn't perfect. I'll probably round up from 4.5 here, as I preferred it to the albums I've given 4 stars to.
I realised I was listening to this reminiscing about university days, and even though this album came out quite a long while before I attended, it somehow became part of the soundtrack to those times after being introduced to Nirvana by a friend I met there. Fired this up and it took me back, being as great to listen to now as it was then. So yeah I'm probably slightly biased, but the last track notwithstanding which I never got on with (I'm gonna ignore that), it's a solid 5 for me.
definitely holds up
The best of its kind
Like a nice cup of coffee, energetic, angsty, political, explosive
maybe I got too impatient and shouldn't give this a 5 idk but like, uh, its good.
Listened to this album many times. Great album.
It's a classic. It's harsh, but that's part of its appeal.
Bäst: "Come as you are"
never got the appeal but its well made
Además, pensas que el disco no se puede poner mejor, y no. Come as you are (y ese solo de Kurt en guitarra tan "regalo inesperado"), Lithium, Breed, In Bloom, On a Plane, Polly, Drain You.
Arguably the best grunge album ever written.
Powerful. Nostalgic.
I've tried to listen to this album so many times but never made it through. For the longest time I didn't get the hype. However, after listening to the whole thing there's an undeniable whirlwind energy that carries through the album that makes it excellent.
I can see why this album is considered one of the bests. Many of the songs on this album went on to become some of their biggest hits, but don't let that fool you. The rest of the album has a ton of great tracks ending with a grungy and dark song like endless nameless. It's easy to see how Nirvana had such an influence. Favorite tracks(excluding the greatest hits) Polly or Breed.
Eh
Claramente, Smell Like Teen Spirit es el tema más famoso del disco junto con Come as You Are. Vean Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck. Gran documental. 1000 de 10 ludomatics.
"I'm so happy, 'cos today I found my friends...
The definition of an instant classic. There isn't a single bad song on this album.
Undeniably influential, plays like a Nirvana greatest hits album. Probably a bit overrated, not quite a perfect album.
It's the most popular album from a popular music group changing the game and what was popular.
So raw and powerful - an absolute must listen. Some songs aren't as good, but most are incredible
Good Start, Terrible End
The first of the album is fun, but then it kind of slips away. Not really my thing, I guess.
I knew I was going to enjoy this one because I was familiar with the singles but what completely won me over was how punk and hardcore this album can get. There’s a ton of diversity here and I get why this record changed music seemingly overnight.
Stronger first half Mainly consistent
I love this album, super easy listening, my Dad used to blast Lithium and Drain You when he would clean the house when I was a kid, so it brings back happy memories. Even without the nostalgia, the actual songs are really good too, there isn't a song on here I don't like.
An amazing album from front to back and one of my go-to listening staples. Probably one of the greatest albums of all time.
Game changer.
Ok, this is album is good, like really good. The only thing stopping me from giving it a 5 was the last song. If it wasnt there I would have no problems listening to the album on repeat. High 4.5/5 real rating
Listened to this so much in my early teens when I was depressed as shit and I thought I was edgy lol. It's the first album we've had so far that I've already heard all the way through several times. It must've done so much for the genre and is one of the defining albums of the 90s culturally imo. And Dave Grohl on drums!! My favourite single is In Bloom and my favourite non-single is probably Drain You. But there's not a bad song on here.
L'album è in crescendo.
I'm not really into grunge rock, but I liked some of the songs - Smells Like Team Spirit, Lithium, Polly, On A Plain and Something In The Way. But the rest of the songs I didn't really enjoy that much. 3/5 stars.
I totally forgot something in the way was on this one - I remember hearing that apparently when they were recording this Cobain just kept asking that the vocal be made quieter and quieter until it was barely audible. I really like the range between smells like teen spirit and something in the way. It goes a bit too grungey in the middle for me though.
It’s about time I listened to nirvana I think. From this track list i know Smells like teen spirit and Come as you are. I quite like both so I have pretty high expectations. SLTS is a banger. Album name drop :o nice. Second track is still a vibe. Omg are they dissing a certain type of fan or am i reading it completely wrong. Could just be about being immature i guess. If this album continues like this it might be a 5 im really into it. Second gun mention. This album goes a lot harder than i thought it would. Lithium is a bit meh. Some more questionable lyrics in Polly. First 4 tracks were really strong. Following 3 were whatever. Drain you is trying hard to be gross but it's okay, i still like it and its lyrics. All songs give me something to think about so that's cool whether i like them or nah. Lounge act is okay. Stay away was ???. LOVE Something in the way, im obsessed with his barely audible singing for the verse. The second half of the last song is really nice. Ah I'm really glad i listened to this album, at times i really loved the lyrics, might give it another listen just for that. About the sound, its okay, not what im normally into but its pretty accessible for someone who doesnt like a heavier sound, harsh vocals here and there but they're not the norm.
ok
Strong album as expected by one of the 90's pillars of grunge. 'Endless, Nameless' cracking end to the whole discourse of Nevermind. Forgot it was coming though and it blew my earphones off.
A classic
Didn't actually listen to it, but there are few albums I know better. I listened to this at least twice per day for two years until I got my hands on a copy of In Utero (CDs were expensive for teenagers in the late 90s). It's a good album, still stands up well. But compared to the other Nirvana albums it's my least favourite.
I think I love this album more at this point in my life than I have at any other point. The standard for what drums should sound like on a rock album. If these songs weren’t also loud hard rock songs, they could easily all be top 10 pop hits with different production. For all of the things rock music has become since it’s inception, I’m hard pressed to think of a better example of a rock album that’s also incredibly popular in mainstream culture.
I mean, it's Nirvana. There were 2 songs that I didn't like a ton, but the good songs were great and definitely made up for the worse songs.
Top !
There is Something In The Way of this album fully grabbing me, but I do like it.
Love this album top 100
Easily a 5 for me. I was already obsessed with more than half of these songs bahahah
Any album that opens with Smells Like Teen Spirit and goes on with tracks such as Come As You Are is going to be a classic. I can only imagine what it must have felt and sounded like to have a Dave Grohl driven, Cobain inspired Nirvana burst onto the scene and remind everyone what sounds used to be made in people's garages. The simplicity of the bass lines, Ghrols drums and Cobain's insular disdain shine in songs such as Lithium, a brilliant record.
WITH THE LIGHTS OUTTTTT ITS LESS DANGEROUS HERE WE ARE NOW ENTERTAIN USSSSS I FEEL STUPID AND CONTAGIOUS!!!! very solid rock album even if i dont normally listen to the genre
Ok let me explain: this was a great album but I wasn't really feeling it the same as the other Nirvana we did earlier. On another day this could easily be 5 stars. Forgive me :'(
Not a fun of grunge but this was a pretty fun album.
It's meh, I did like the "Smells like Teen Spirit" song though
Everything about this album is great. Just no way around it.
Pocas veces daré cinco estrellas tan convencido.
This album instantly fills me with 'fuck you!' energy but also a familiar warm kind of a feeling of belonging that could only be improved with real people to jump around to it with.
fantastic album. Last bit too much though
It's been a looooong time since I listened to a Nirvana album in its entirety (the unplugged live recording probably being the exception). I used to really love Nirvana as a pre-teen and obviously my music tastes have changed again and again. Revisiting it so many years later I'm sort of surprised by how good this album really is. I don't think it's the nostalgia speaking, since the vast majority of music I liked as a teen makes me cringe now. It's just a really really good album, very well-rounded too. The only song I didn't like was the last one, which was originally omitted and then added as a hidden, final track. Omitting it was probably the right thing to do. But still a fantastic album overall.
Obviously a 5. One of my first ever albums and just so many ridiculous tunes. Actually also think this is one of my favourite albums of all time. 5/5
Just because it is the most accessible Nirvana album doesn't mean it is the weakest; not by a long shot. A tour de force of bringing the grunge movement into the mainstream purely on it's incredible songwriting and melodies, not to mention the great rhythm section between Grohl and Novoselic
It's great - obvs. Very melodic but also hard. It's one of those albums I don't need to listen to though, as it's so familiar. Y
Didn’t like
Excellent album - Couldn't believe that was the first time I'd listened to it all the way through!
Fun to listen to. It seemed so edgy when it came out but has been emulated so much since then that it doesn't feel as edgy.
Can see why it's a good album but its not for me
Classic, although I've never listened to the whole thing before. They have quite a distinctive sound, and I enjoy the unusual chord progressions
Very good album
I really love this album. So much nostalgia. The first 7 tracks are basically perfect. Drain you and Lounge Act lost my focus a little, but still good songs. I dislike Stay Away, but On a Plain gets me right back into it. Endless, Nameless is trash, but I don't really count it against the album since it wasn't on the original and was a hidden track later.
The most overrated rock album of the 90s.
Classic
Too hard rick
Nirvana’s “Nevermind” is one of my favorite albums of all time. It means so much to me that it’s difficult to articulate why it‘s left such a massive impact on me over the years. “Nevermind” is a masterwork of power and emotional potency...a tremendous force to be reckoned with. “Nevermind” is possessed with a unique energy that transports me to the time in which it was released, and the excitement of that era must have been palpable. Almost 30 years after its release, “Nevermind” remains utterly vital and absolutely fantastic. Kurt Cobain had a brilliant knack for melody, and each song on this album is crafted to such perfection. The catchiness of those melodies matched with the unbridled ferocity makes for a spectacular experience. Kurt’s voice has such a unique quality to it, and he takes it to daring places throughout this album. Kurt’s guitar, Krist Novoselic’s bass, and Dave Grohl’s drums sound so heavy across “Nevermind”, and there are so many different sounds on this album that I love. Butch Vig’s production on this album is excellent, and the cover art for this album is perfect because for me, this album sounds splendidly aquatic and frequently like the color blue. I always feel so greatly energized and in awe by “Nevermind”, an album that I will continue to cherish for the rest of my life.
Almost shockingly good 90's rock. Totally enjoyable.
This album is landmark and stands up after 30 years. It came out the month I started high school and it still brings me back to 9th grade. There is a reason why it is legendary as the tunes are well crafted and the impact on music is still felt today.
Bet
Coincidentally today smells like teen spirit was playing on the radio on my drive back from work and Steve Wright said that the first time he played it on the radio he knew that “music had changed”. And it was never the same since. Another amazing album. I don’t think anyone will not score this five stars.
Excellent, as always. It's amazing the energy you get when listening to this album
Sounds as fresh as the day it was released, a classic
I remember feeling the same way when I was younger...it's a great album but there are a few terrible songs (i.e. Territorial Pissings)
Let’s see ...... no let’s not. Can’t believe this even is an album. No rhythm, no rhyme no pattern or time ... spent listening to this. Tried to be positive and pick one good song, but don’t have one to list. Do love the album jacket. There some thing positive.
It still fucking rocks. All classics except I don't much care for the last song.
Classic.
absolute slap of an album. no bad songs on it and some absolute belters
classic
Overall found this a bit down, whingey and wallowing for my tastes. Even the loud parts seem a bit miserable. I quite like a sad song, but the vibe of this album just isn't my thing. Really surprised how much I struggled with it given the classics on there.
4/5
Absolutely amazing
9/10
Pretty classic-sounding rock, to me at least. Somewhat grungy, I guess, if I had to get specific. If I was craving music like that I would like it, and I can see how it could be cathartic.
One of the first albums I ever listened to #fact not quite my style but it's iconic and the big tunes are absolute belters
Is there a better way to start a decade?
Tuneless nonsense
Historic Collison of pop culture with underground
It has finally arrived. An album I would have expected to be on this list. No disrespect to Michael Jackson but the minute I saw this album cover I fist pumped the air. I haven’t ever listened to the album but I know so many of the songs on here. Nirvana is a band that I have more relation to through others than myself. I am not a Nirvana fan but I know a lot of people who were at one point. Our cousin Harry had a Nirvana box set we listened to in New Jersey when we were kids, I had a classmate, Shelby Jones, who would spend lunches telling me about Kurt Cobain and what he meant to her (he had passed by then) and to music. She had lost her parents in a car wreck and was always listening to this album and I’m sure some of his others but she introduced me to Nirvana. I think of her along with my cousin and all those other young kids out there who latched onto this particular grunge rock that totally fits the bill of Alternative. It was perfect if you were going through a phase or were just an emo type of person but that doesn’t mean the sound is bad. Teen Spirit was played many a times in the football locker room or in movies I would watch. Come As You Are was just recently featured in Captain Marvel. Territorial Pissings was covered by one of my favorite metal bands, Ill Nino. Those are the three I know off the bat so I’m excited to see if there are any other that I recognize. But that is a lot to say about this band and album during just this opening song! Which I didn’t realize was five minutes long. Oh I’ve listened to Bloom before in Rock Band! Nirvana, especially this album, feels like this underground scene that eventually turned main stream. That’s what Apple Music says and I totally agree. I haven’t even mentioned that this album came out the year I was born so maybe I was the baby on the cover, who knows. I think we all were that baby on the cover chasing after the almighty dollar. That album cover is probably one of the most recognized of all time. I’ve seen it parodied, censored, and everything in between. I know when I was younger it was the source of many giggles for getting to see his wee willy winky but in my current age, all I see is that dollar bill *insert cool guy glasses*. I wonder if in someway Nirvana inspired Seether, they sound kind of the same. Breed is great, that’s four awesome songs in a row. Love the fast paste drums and strings along with Kurt’s brooding voice. Lithium was great, I don’t think I’ve actually listening to that song fully before. On Territorial Pissings, I also haven’t listened to this fully, just the cover. I like the cover better but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. A lot of the rest of the songs were good but the reason I never listened to the album is I am not the biggest Nirvana fan (did not like the last song on this at all). Not sure why because they are awesome. Listening to this album has helped, especially with finding some new favs like Breed and Stay Away.
Je lévite: come as you are !!
I don't like nirvana
Some nice high points, some boring songs
Think i was a bit young for Nirvana, never really got into them til recently
👏👏👏👏
A masterpiece rock album that changed everything in the 90s. Amazing production, classic songs, great run time, stands the test of time.
without words - one of the best albums ever released
the third album I get that is currently on the top 20 of the generator. This is it people, the top tier, I mean, no one hates on Fleetwood Mac (I myself rated it 5) but Nirvana has had a lot of haters ever since they came out, so its high rate is even more impressive. Nevermind is an almost perfect album, I've been hearing it ever since it came out (I was 5 at the time) and I have always loved it. this is one for the generations.
Classic
This album is a whole era in and out of itself. Never gets old. Back in the day I didn't pay much attention to it as it was everywhere and it wasn't underground enough for me (yeah, I was that teenager). However, by the time In Utero was released I had already embraced Nevermind and still love this album to this day. I listened to the remastered version for this review and really rocked to it.
Stone cold classic album. The three-track opening run on here could beat out most albums in existence. I feel like most retrospective discussion of Nirvana tends to focus on the lore of Kurt Cobain or the grunge movement that he inspired, but what gets lost is the fact that Nirvana really ROCKED. Sometimes it sneaks up on you, like on "Lithium" and "Come As You Are." Or verses will be softer followed by heavy hooks. The point is that pretty much every song on here hits hard. Even the deeper album cuts are great, no fat on here to trim. And I never knew that Nirvana was a three-piece band! That in itself always impresses me. All three do an excellent job, but special shout-out to Dave Grohl for his drumming, especially on "In Bloom." Favorite tracks: In Bloom, Lithium, Smells Like Teen Spirit, Something in the Way. Album art: Iconic. I can't imagine how many teens brought this album home from the store to absolute shock from their parents. "What kind of pervert crap is this, Lucas? You can see the baby's dink! Is that what you like, sicko? Go to your room!" I've always felt like I shouldn't look at Nevermind Baby. He's chasing a bag, and I should mind my own business. I wonder if Nevermind Baby is still alive? Has he learned about clothing yet? Maybe that's why he was chasing a dollar, so he could afford a diaper. Nevermind Baby is all alone in this open water world. 5/5
You're telling me this guy killed himself? Teenage me hated on Nirvana because it was so popular. Listening to it, looking at the lyrics... I like a the juice. Probably closer to a 4.5.
Bängeri! Nirvana
Smells Like Team Spirit reminds me of going out with my second boyfriend, Sam Coleman (Dan Metcalf was so fleeting I'm not sure it counts). Sam was a rock-head and I wanted to impress him with my music knowledge. I was already dabbling in rock (this is was not too far off my gentle transition from S Club 7 to Green Day), but went all out I listened to my brother's various volumes of Air Guitar - a compilation of rock hits. Nirvana was on it, as was Teenage Kicks. Which again reminds me of that very exciting time going out with Sam, despite us actually not having an awful lot of contact. Anyway, once I had listened to Nirvana I had quite a bit to say to Sam via MSN Messenger and it must have worked cos he wrote my initials and hearts ALL over his pencil case, alongside a large 'rock on' hand symbol drawing.
Nevermind is the second studio album by American rock band Nirvana, released on September 24, 1991 by DGC Records. Produced by Butch Vig, it was Nirvana's first release on the DGC label, as well as the first to feature drummer Dave Grohl. Nevermind features a more polished, radio-friendly sound than the band's prior work, and is therefore considered a significant departure from their debut album, Bleach. Nevermind is often credited with initiating a resurgence of punk culture among teenagers and young adults of Generation X.[3] In addition, it was responsible in part for bringing both grunge and alternative rock music to a mainstream audience and ending the dominance of hair metal.[4] The album has sold over 30 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time.
No notes needed
already heard before, still great
Great album, could listen to it on replay for quite a while
Almost every song was a banger and I’d absolutely buy the vinyl
Songs: Smells like teen spirit, Lithium, On a plain, Come as you are
it's impossible for me to be objective about this album. it was the one that changed everything, yes - but also, everything was going to change no matter what, and this was kinda just the one that happened to be there at the right time. i did learn to play this entire album back in the day, but i also got intolerably tired of hearing it.
8.3
One of my all time favorites.

CLASSIC
TBH not sure if I've ever listened. Definitely gives me new appreciation for the band.
*screams endlessly, namelessly* eh they're pretty good, this Nirvana group
Formative
Do I have to? Never again
This is an amazing album. So many great songs and contains some of my favourite Nirvana tracks("Lithium", "Smells like teen spirit", "Breed" and "in Bloom"). This is the epitome of what Grunge is. I also think it to be their best album(aside from the MTV unplugged versions).
Good education, most songs sounded the same save for the good ones.
oscillating bw a 4 and a 5. this album is no skip primarily in the beginning but overall each song needs to be studied and jammed to on their own. the songwriting is incredible and studying each song more would definitely feel more confident giving this album a 5. polly for example is such a smart and effective way to write about women’s experience with sexual abuse and shedding light on it through music; it's terrifying, and singing as the abuser produces such an eerie and uncomfortable effect and makes you hate the abuser and feel immense sympathy for "Polly". knowing how much kurt cobain championed women and women's autonomy provides more context, but this song as a whole is so well done. ending with something in the way closes out the album so well since it starts so "angry" and active, but ends calmer while still maintaining that angst and grunge.
but ‘territorial pissings’ = 5/5 for the name
Unreal how good this is
good shit
2 att best
Noisy.
Overrated and featuring some genuinely atrocious songs. But nonetheless a great album with plenty of timeless classics.
Pretty darn good album. I know many call it a masterpiece, and if I was more into the overall sound maybe I'd agree. Well crafted songs and a full album experience for sure.
Yep, good. Not blown away but something I should definitely have listened to before now.
Another LP I neglected to review at first given how it seems everything under the sun has already been said about it. Looking back through the calcified hatred and rejection of fame on 'In Utero,' this LP feels almost comically light, but it's just another side of the same coin. The tongue-in-cheek, grinning facetiousness of Kurt's lyrics skewer the world at large just as pointedly (though less dourly) as those on Utero. The main difference is the instrumentation and songwriting – always feel that so many people undersell Kurt's prowess for writing absolutely stunning, memorable melodies. The layers of fuzz and feedback may get the historical nod, but it's the rock-solid musicianship at the core of this album that makes it such a hit.
Historic favourite
I mean, obvs.
absolute bangers after bangers
Classic album.
Turns out he did have a gun :(
Without a doubt a classic. But definitely not my flow. Always thought it was weird that they call themselves nirvana, but listening to them I feel very far from nirvana.
I mean....
If it weren't for Butch Vig being a brilliant con-man, we'd'nt've "Teen Spirit", but we'd've an alive Cobain. This album is what happens when someone directs anger at the masses, and ends up being called the Messiah for it. In a way, the genius of the album, and its wide variety of dissonances, ever-changing moods, and constant nihilism is secondary to the fact that everyone hears its first bars, and chose to copy it, ignoring what the rest of the album was trying to say. In that sense, it's like the Gettysburg of the 1990s. Fucking Nirvana fans, they killed Nirvana. Score: 83/100
It's amazing that Courtney Love still hasn't been convicted
This is the second Nirvana album that these guys have suggested. I liked hearing these songs again, I haven't in a long time. Some of their tracks sounded way more punk than I remember them being.
Great. Classic
Possibly the greatest album opener of all time. And doesn’t drop in quality much after that. Head banger
Killer album from front to back. Gets a little weaker later on in the album. Great lyrics, melodies. High 4.5
Some great songs on this album. Wish there was a half star option. 3.5 stars.
Not bad, not entirely convinced that it's such an amazing album though. Come As You Are is certainly one of the highlights for me.
Aint nothing wrong with this
Makes me think of my uncle putting this record on when I was a teenager. Since I “came of age” in the 2000s, Nirvana had already been taught to me as rock legend, a myth of the past (though the 1990s were not that long ago). This still slaps
The first half of the Album is iconic and is powerful however, I feel that the second half of the album becomes a tedious task to make it through.
I can't be even close to objective about this one, it's too intrinsic to my tastes in music.
Well fuck. I had never listened to this album in it's entirety. Was very surprised how varied the songs are and pretty awesome at that. Can't give it 5 stars because that would imply that every single song was a goddamn hit, which for me wouldn't be the case, but this gets a solid 4 stars.
I mean cmon, it's Nevermind. Fucking great, perfect Punk music Come as you are and Territorial Pissings are my favorite songs. Catchy and hypnotic songs, perfect for any mood, I will forever love this album, just feels like a warm blanket. Thanks for the music Kurt, RIP. 8/8
Great album, almost every song is a banger
Well this is just a legendary album!
Normie asf
I don't like grunge that much, but it was still quite enjoyable.
I’m consumed by angst
Yeah but you know.
Good Music
Monumental album in rock.
I wish it were my first time listening to it so I can both listen to it more objectively and re-experience that all over again, but even trying to pretend I hadn't heard it before, it's very much still an album where every song is one I'd rate at least a 4 and where there are more than enough 5-stars to warrant an album-wide 5. I can't believe I missed the day this one was our album!
Iconic album
Nice
It's just hit after hit and even the songs that aren't radio singles are good. This album lives on the fuzzy, disallusioned edge of the punk movement and I love it for its sheer nihilistic angst.
I'm not the biggest Nirvana guy, but after listening to this album in the context of this project, I understand a bit better why people are really into them. I still wouldn't voluntarily listen to most of these tracks, but there's no denying the massive footprint of this work. Best track: Breed
smells like teen spirit might be one of the best opening songs in an album in the past 30 years
only found out yesterday that the foo fighters guy was in nirvana but apparently its common knowledge. wild. good album, just kinda take everything i say abt in utero but instead of being really noisy and raw this albums a bit more polished. personally i like this one more just since i kinda think the production fits how catchy the songs can be a bit more. also it doesnt have scentless apprentice on it so thats an automatic plus. tired rn but very good album 9/10
12/7 Classic.
Classic
All time classic.
great record reckon they'll go far
Just an absolute monster of an album. Wall to wall melody, brilliant lyrics and heavy tunes!
