Reviews (page 14 of 16)

Classic pop-rock album.

everyone's favourite spanish soap opera band's most commercially succesful album is actually very enjoyable, the filler songs don't sound all that filler-y. Honestly it's still overhyped (the hype is immense in this album so there's no way the album can live up to it), but deserves to be among the better albums on this list.

I had to skip forward past the first song, Secondhand News. How is that the opener? A couple of the other tracks are also a bit too corny for me, but the bangers on here are great. I didn't know Songbird before, and really liked it.

Solid Album. Very cohesive

Simply just a beautiful album.

super enjoyable album to listen to and dreams is a 10/10 song.

Many special ones

Well duh

So messy, but such a great album.

I enjoyed the great technique, both instrumental and vocal. I’m not sure why it attracted so much acclaim (I presume this had great influence). Heard before: Dreams, Go Your Own Way, The Chain.

Lots of hits on this album, including one of my favorite songs of all time “Dreams.” Overall, the full album isn’t really my thing, but Fleetwood Mac had a gift for finding great pop and soft rock hooks that make these songs very easy to digest.

A classic. Captures the ups and downs of relationships very well

Stevie Nicks

This album, and Dreams in particular, has gotten a lot more popular lately. I've never given it a full listen so I was happy to see this popup. There are a lot of great songs on this album. More than I knew than I realized. Overall I really enjoyed it. I really like Never Going Back Again. "Been down one time, been down two times" is very catchy. I don't think I ever realized Go Your Own Way was Fleetwood Mac. Oh Daddy and Gold Dust Woman weren't my favorite though. I think if the album ended stronger for me it would have been 5/5.

Obviously there are some songs here that are 5 stars and overall it's great album. The things going on around it are even better.

Only holding back the fifth star because all the Stevie Nicks songs are so much better than the others and there aren’t enough of them.

Have only heard a handful of songs from this album, but it is full of bangers. Favorite especially going to The Chain. It's [the album] not perfect, but it is a really good blend of folk and rock (more rock than folk though). There isn't much else to say other than this is a pretty good album A solid 4/5

So that’s where all these songs come from. Very good album, although it doesn’t really strike any chords within me. That Amazon show seems like it was based on this band which is a bit of a negative note that I think will hinder me any time I listen to this band. Unfortunate but it is what it is. I’ll give it a 4 to pay respects to the studded track-list

First album with new rating system, 👍 for good song, 👎 for bad song. Add all 👍, divide by 5, give that many stars. Round up or down as needed. Mostly upbeat and chill album! A couple standouts with Dreams, The Chain, and Go Your Own Way Second Hand News: 👍 Dreams: 👍 Never Going Back Again: 👍 Don’t Stop: 👍 Go Your Own Way: 👍 Songbird: 👍 The Chain: 👍 You Make Loving Fun: 👍 I Don’t Want to Know: 👍 Oh Daddy: 👎 Gold Dust Woman: 👎

The word “seamless” comes to mind with this album. Always a classic. And you can hear the vitriol seethe in every chorus.

Great album! A lot of dense history behind the group and the time they were writing Rumours- very interesting. “The Chain” was probably my favorite song on this album, plus “Silver Spring” on the Deluxe version. I think it was originally made as a B-side which is a shame because it’s a great song. Four stars

Finally a good listen. Sometimes you can just tell its good. It also helps when you are motivated to finish the album. I also appreciate albums that are less than an hour. It is a task to listen to an hour plus album when its not one of your favorites

Some excellent songs but others really not. However it was better than I first perceived before listening

Almost gave this a 5. But since I'm hesitant to add this to my own list of bangar albums, I'll settle on 4. Stevie Nicks owns this album though.

Dreams is a classic, love the vibes, and old dated but timeless freedom.

Amazing album influencing many other rock artists, can feel the emotion.

I always thought of FM as music for daggy old people. So perhaps I am becoming a daggy old person (becoming, I hear you ask?!). Anyway, I enjoyed this more than I expected to, and more than once. Not every song rises to the level of the obvious bangers, but lots of great stuff there, with variety and more than the occasional “oh yeah!” moment.

Classic break up the band album. Been played to death over the years still sounds best MOR.

The Glee episode dedicated to this album had a strong influence on my teen years….. and the album itself definitely earned its spot on this list. I was kind of disappointed by some of the tracks on here I hadn’t heard before - no sneaky wonders left to discover on here; the ones you know are the ones that are great. Best tracks: THE CHAIN, Dreams, Don’t Stop, Songbird, Go Your Own Way, I Don’t Want To Know Worst tracks: Second Hand News, You Make Loving Fun

I have kind of avoided Fleetwood Mac throughout the years, and though I can appreciate this album, I just don't love it. Some of the songs, the music and lyrics are just bland, However, I did enjoy this more than I thought I would. Overall, pretty good and a very clean and clear record. 4/5 Probably won't listen again

Full of white people bangers

Heard it before?: Yes Enjoy it: Hard not to love this one, full of their best work and shouldn’t deserve to be this good given the environment they recorded this. Favourite song: Track 7 - The Chain

good music for billard or public spaces

Already knew this album but it was a pleasure to listen to it

goated album nuff said

Dreams tem 1,3 bilhoes de listens!!

There's definite bangers on here. I would listen again, and I'm sure I've listened before (familiarity bias). Just not quite sure it's a 5. I might just be being contrary because I know it's highly acclaimed

Love me some Fleetwood Mac.

Funny album, you've really become a ruler for recording tech while so uncomfortable with the forty-minute structure. Incompleteness fades and expectation grows as Rumours plays. The large arrives unexpected each time around; And no duds in the lows.

Songbird! This is where Songbird comes from!

This is the most difficult album for me to figure out on this list so far. It’s undeniably crammed with megahits, and the talent of each member is ridiculous. But, and there’s always a but, not much of this did anything for me, bar Never Going Back Again which is one of my many all time favourite tracks. I’m not sure whether this has just been overplayed and overhyped for me, which can make it difficult to rate it on base value at times. Like it’s undeniably excellent, but it just didn’t hit that spot for me. It’s a bit like how everyone seemed to fancy Kate Moss in the early 2000s, or Laura Jenkinson from Southmoor School circa 2003, but neither did it for me and I felt like I was the only one. One things for sure though, they went through and incredible transformation. When I was about 21 I picked up a FM record as I knew little about them except their hits and how much of an influence they were on Field Music. Turns out it was an early record which was very very bluesy/americana almost. Baffled me at how that played such a role for bands like Field Music. So to go from that to the top dogs of soft rock is quite the transition. I think in terms of quality it has to be a 5, but in terms of how I feel about it, probably a 3, so I’ll go 4. Wouldnt be rushing back, but also wouldnt say I’m Never Going Back Again (wahey!)

Good album but wasn’t a fan of every song

Dreams; Never Going Back Again (great acoustic guitar sound, vocals and guitar all by Lindsey Buckingham Don't Stop (Christine McVie) Go Your Own Way The Chain (great guitar sounds, including a Dobro, and has a fretless bass solo ) Gold Dust Woman (another great guitar sound - Dobro, and is about Stevie Nicks' cocaine addiction) 6 of the 11 tracks are very famous

really enjoyable album, it isnt complete enough to be a 5/5 tbh, the slow songs arent impactful enough or arent good enough compared to the upper beat songs. * Dreams - 2004 Remaster * its just the most complete song

Had this on repeat for longer than most albums this challenge, but can't pick out anything that I exceptionally like. Just very good

A great album and an absolute classic. These are those guys from TikTok right?

Another classic!

Let Stevie Nicks sing the entire time please, but that's all Fleetwood Mac for me. It'd be a straight 5* for me. But, it's a mixed bag and as an album it almost feels like two different bands at times. Songs like Dreams and The Chain are absolute 5* 100%, but songs like Second Hand News and Never Going Back are middling at best for me. Culturally and production wise? 5* but enjoyment for me is full of "hell yeah" and "hell no". Oh my god I just realized the hanging balls for the first time, how did I miss this? Killer artwork though.

Great album. Already a lot of well known songs on here but enjoyed having it on. A classic

Dikke 4.

Man, did I hate Fleetwood Mac in the mid to late 70s. It was Punk all the way for me. Age has mellowed me, and I can appreciate them now.

I thoroughly enjoyed the album l. Almost perfect to me.

Don't stop, thinking about ... Thunders, You can go your own way, You make loving fun.

Incredible to fit so many good songs on an album

Excelente albúm

Obviously.

Biased, i know. But i think a lot of people would agree with me. this is a very good album. 4/5

So many great songs. Peak Mac.

Nice. Very mainstream but a pleasant listen. Dreams is the best track IMO but the others are all good, if not brilliant

1. Second hand news 4 2. Dreams 4 3. Never going back again 3 4. Dont stop 4 5. Go your own way 5 6. Songbird 3 7. The chain 5 8. You make loving fun 4 9. I dont want to know 4 10. Oh daddy 3 11. Gold dust woman 4 3,9

I'm not surprised that half of the album are the "hits." I'm surprised that more of the album isn't songs that I know. From what I know of the popularity of this album, I would have thought this album was more like "Who's Next," where basically every song was hummable and known. But there are a couple of songs on here that are head scratchers. Exhibit A: "Oh, Daddy." That's just a stinker. Almost cringe inducing, really. "Go Your Own Way," what can I say that probably hasn't been said before? I do really like how the drums come in to that song and really turn the beat around. It's probably my favorite track off that album just for that alone. "Don't Stop"... is you were around 20 years ago you know how tiresome this song became. It's not a bad song, but it's not the best track on the album, and it is a bit repetitive. So I can see why this album sold as much as did on the strength of their hits alone. But the non-singles... half of the album has songs that never hit the air. If we compare this to other big albums (I keep coming back to Who's Next), half of the album I have never heard of. Does not say a lot about the album itself, the whole thing should be big, you know? So it's good for me, but not as great as the sales make it out to be.

I'm a big classic rock fan, but even though Fleetwood Mac is pretty central in classic rock, they never "did it" for me. At least part of it was Stevie Nicks' warble. Never been a fan of that. However, as always, I'm trying to listen with fresh ears. It's certainly a very good album, with plenty of classic songs. My overall impression is that they have great vocal interplay (with even a bit more appreciation for Stevie Nicks, despite the warble), excellent guitar playing, and very nice composition. The big ding I'll give the album is it's very OF ITS TIME. There are plenty of classic rock albums that still sound fresh...this sounds like peak 70s, and that's what keeps it from a 5 for me. 5's are timeless, and this ain't. Favorite tracks: Dreams (really good lyrics and I like the vocal line), Go Your Own Way (never knew this and Dreams were a pair - Nicks (Dreams) and Buckingham's (Own Way) takes on their breakup - interesting, and must have made for some awkward days at the office), The Chain (dark and brooding with some great musicianship), You Make Loving Fun (very 70s, but nice song), Gold Dust Woman (really like the guitar line and the outro).

classic 8/10 (4/5)

So many hits on this album, and they are such classics. That said, it’s not an album I could see myself listening to over and over, something about it just doesn’t grab me as much as similar artists. It’s still an incredible album however.

a lot of classics

Classic

There's something about this album that I really enjoyed, even though like half of these songs would normally not be my cup of tea. This is definitely a time where the whole of all three voices is greater than the sum of its parts - the harmonies and duets/trios are beautiful.

Mfing classic

good solid albums, many memorable pieces, could listen to it over and over again

Love Fleetwood Mac- classic album

Very good

Some really good songs on here.

Who doesn’t love it

Yeah it's great, but I'm surprised that it's the second highest-rated album on this whole site. It’s not THAT good

Woah. Big Boy. 2nd highest rated album in the entire generator. If we try hard enough, we could either move it down to third or up to first. Second Hand News - Opening tracks can make or break an album for me since first impressions are everything. This one was pretty meh. 3 Dreams - sounds like a gypsy getting circumcised under the many moons of Tatooine. In all seriousness, I've heard this sucker about 1,000 times and it's obviously a great track. 5 Never Going Back Again - another one I've heard a good amount. Better than I remembered. 4 Don't Stop - this album feels like a compilation album since it's hit after hit. I'm curious what I would rate this if it were my first listen. 3 Go Your Own Way - 5. Songbird - Pretty boring. 3. The Chain - Awesome Mix Vol. 2 anyone? 5. You Make Loving Fun - the George Harrison of Fleetwood Mac ain't too shabby. 4 I Don't Want to Know - 4. Oh Daddy - Fantastic. 4. Gold Dust Woman - There's just so much going on in these songs, which is why they're more than hits. They're actually contemplative. 5.

Love this album, definitely a 4 star. Is it a classic though? To some people, yes.

This music isn’t my cup of tea but even I can’t argue with how great this album is. And I think that shows how much true masterpiece this album is. Every track is a timeless classic. That is insane.

Includes definite classics, but also some weaker songs

I want this album to be a 5/5 so badly but for me there are a few songs I would have probably left off of the track list. The highs are soooo high. The Chain is one of my favorite songs of all time.

Hadn't actually listened to Rumours before. Thought I had but I didn't. I've heard a bunch of the songs individually but not as an album. Was lovely. I really loved Second Hand News.

Every girl and woman of my acquaintance had a copy of this album in the 70s. What's not to like.

Great listening, enjoyed it very much.

Don't like FM but this is a great album

Listened Before? N I've been saving this one because I knew it was on this list somewhere. It's widely considered a classic so not to include it would have been a disservice. I've never listened to it beginning to end until now. What a great album! For me, Stevie Nicks' lead songs are head and shoulders above the rest but it's all quality stuff. An all timer. 5-cuts deep (or more). I'll be adding this one and listening regulary. Added to Library? Y Songs added to playlist: Dreams, Gold Dust Woman

It’s a classic I know but it’s still not what I really like. But it was cool listening to it as a whole artistic journey

Enjoyable classic rock. A tad on the slow side for me but I still liked it.

Timeless

I have a love/hate relationship with these recordings. And so did the band! Still, one of the most perfect recordings from the 70’s. Pure Pop for Now People by Nick Lowe eclipses it, in my book, for fun and production cohesiveness (1978).

Like any classic record, listening to "Rumours" immediately brings back memories of the time when I heard it everywhere. This record has all the Feels that a classic record should have. It really doesn't get old. Even the lesser-rated songs are nice to hear. Also, "Rumours" is a great record to listen to from start to finish. I gave it a 4-star because a few songs are just okay. Great, but not worthy of a 5, which is HOF.

Muy bueno

Definitely influential, but also highly overplayed. Good album but I'm pretty tired of it.

Score: 80 This is a very fun and quick album. I never knew how many hit songs were on here. The production, performances and lyrics are all very good. The 40 minutes went by very fast

Can’t really tell you what I hate about this record. Can’t really tell you what I like about it. Can’t really describe why it sounds dated, can’t really say why it still sounds vibrant. It’s just really hard to say what this album is, because it’s such a yardstick in pop music - for better or worse. The production is undeniably vibrant, but the hoaky background vocals just grate on me. There’s a couple of real bangers, and some dirges. Lesley Buckingham’s guitar playing is incredible, but the lyrical content is surprisingly banal. The album has come to mean a lot more to many people than it ever will to me. But it is what it is I guess. I can’t take away its merits, but I don’t think you can ignore its faults.

Ja love it

Listened to on 2/1/23 4.5/5 Favorite song: dreams, landslide Iconic album -such a vibe

A Solid Album that i should consider to listen more

Buen disco no lo he escuchado entero

7/10 - not my favourite band but still alright

Was not in the mood when this came up but how can you resist? I remember buying this at Carson's in '77.

So many iconic songs on one album. The core of so many songs and albums in the future. Never was a personal favorite, but its reverence is noted

Great rock album. Nothing to complain about here. It is played out for a reason.

Almost every song was a hit. I should give this a 5, but it's just a tad too slick for me to want to rank up there with my other 5's.

Strong 4. Some quality tunes.

A bit overrated but quite good

Solid, dependable music but not as great as some will make out.

Немного греют душу Don't Stop и You Make Loving Fun, но какой-то вековой вечностью они не пахнут. The Chain, Oh Daddy, Don't Stop, You Make Loving Fun

It's an okay album.

Great album Dynamic in nature - no 2 songs are the same/ follow the same pattern and influence to many bands in the future

Although I prefer the earlier iterations of Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green, I can’t deny that this record is great. Sure it’s a bit overplayed, but it’s got great tracks.

Great album from start to finish. Best song - Chains.

Great album

Loved it all but the chain has my heart

Truly fantastic record, top to bottom. Holds up extremely well today.

Feel GOOD music

Fist time I listened to this album; and I must say, I didn't know the sheer amount of tracks I had heard before. This is very good 70s California rock/folk music, that runs a little out of steam in its second half. Still, this is a worthwhile listen. 3.5/5

All time classic album, does not miss

Really good! Lots of classics

I heard this album when I was in school and college. Very nostalgic memories of songs sung by Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie.

pretty timeless-sounded folksy easy listening pop. nostalgic and forward-looking ending credits music

So many important songs in pop culture, incredible displays of emotion..love the journey this album takes you on as a whole. Powerful

Great, eminently listenable album. Lindsey Buckingham is quite the talent as a player, singer, and songwriter.

GREAT.

I mean. This record is the classic album. 5 stars.

So many hits on this, gets an extra star just for the chain but loses one for oh daddy.

I didn’t know this album had all the old-school bangers. I’ve never listened to it in its entirety, but I’ve osmosed every track from other media enough that the whole thing seemed nostalgic for a time I never knew. Incredible what music can do, and what one album can represent for so many!

Classic album Second hand news - pretty good yeah👍 Dreams- masterpiece👍 Never going back again - focus on guitar Don't stop - lol I never realised this was a duet Go your own way - other side to dreams, another amazing sing👍 Songbird - gentle but powerful👍 The chain - makes you miss the BBC F1 coverage👍 You make loving fun - cute funky song I don't wanna know- pretty filler Oh daddy- my least favourite on the album Gold dust woman - V atmospheric👍 Obviously a great album. Maybe blasphemous but 4/5

Super chill

Simple, yet an amazing album, although 1-2 songs I did not like

Lovey songs, great listen

Knocking off half a star for that first song...

I don’t think I realized how many of Fleetwood Mac’s big hits that I’d heard before came from this one album! Lots of songs I recognize but didn’t know their name either. Good ratio of good to meh songs

Ah, a radio Darwin classic

Slightly embarrassed to say I have never "listened" to this band, but I think I've heard 80% of the songs on this record about a 1,000 times. Part of that is my aversion to late 70s classic rock, and part of that is probably because they have so many different singers in this band, that I have never been to off the cuff recognizing all the different songs as belonging to the same band. I also have conflated them with The Eagles forever too. That being said, this is great, like I said I've heard so many of these songs a bunch of times, it feels super familiar, just not in the album format. I still don't think I love Fleetwood Mac by any means, but I'll give it a 4/5 because it's obvious a classic.

Álbum pra uma tarde gostosa

One of those famous albums that is always on best of all time lists which I've never fully got. Listening now there are at least two all time great tunes and consistently enjoyable throughout, can't help but be distracted listening though. Maybe an album cursed by its own hype. 4.4

Damn near every song is a banger..

Count me in the likely minority that are not fans of Stevie Nicks' voice, but this is undeniably great.

Didn’t realize I’d turn into a big Fleetwood Mac fan after this album!

made me feel like I was in a Western

Superb album. A must hear from the 70s

Didn't get a chance yet to listen all the way through this, but I like enough of the hits to assume it's at least a three. But based on the strength of Craig's biopic pitch I'll bump it up to 4 and give it a 3,000 screen release. Suck it Top Gun!

Although aware of Rumours, obviously, I've never actually listened to it straight through. I never really understood the appeal of Stevie Nicks. Honestly I was kind of rooting against liking this album. Taking it for a spin "Second Hand News" quickly vindicates my assumption that Rumours is not, in fact, the best album of all time. But man is Dreams a great song, all time great, Stevie and all. Don't Stop is all worn out, not their fault to be fair, but still. Go Your Own Way also great. Songbird isn't as pretty as it thinks it is but then boom! The Chain brings the quality level back to maximum. After You Make Loving Fun there's a bit of a lull, I don't much like Oh Daddy, but Gold Dust Woman is a strong finish. I'm afraid the faults on this album are few and far between. I can only grouch up one star to deduct, and that's pushing it.

Not a huge Fleetwood Mac fan, but this is a very good record

Genre: Pop Rock 4/5 A near-perfect pop album, and clearly Fleetwood Mac's magnum opus, Rumours is a real treat. Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks trade pop masterpieces, while Christine McVie tries desperately to keep up, in one of the best albums the decade has to offer. There are some of the best sounding records of all time on this record, as Dreams, a record that has since enjoyed a renewed popularity via TikTok, is still one of the cleanest sounding rock tracks of all time. Well-arranged, well-sung, and well-performed, it fully deserved its #1, and is still one of the best soft rock songs ever written. As the album progresses (minus Songbird and Oh Daddy), every song is a treat. Never Going Back Again is casually one of the greatest acoustic guitar songs ever written and performed, so technically challenging that they needed two guitarists to recreate it live after Lindsey left. Go Your Own Way and The Chain are two of pop rock's best ever, showcasing Fleetwood Mac's knack for catchy melodies and great songwriting. You Make Loving Fun and Don't Stop, McVie's best tracks on the album, are two others from this project that are still played on radio to this day, a testament to the true longevity of these songs. And those are just the ones I'm naming. Really good shit, and an album I think everybody should love. If they don't, they're lying.

I don;' really like Fleetwood Mac but you can't really fault this. An impressive amount of classic songs on one album

I wanted to be a "Stevie Nicks carries" guy sooo bad, but they weren't lying, you really can go your own way. High 4

It’s decent, but not quite what I wanted from an album that I’ve heard so much about. The hits really reminded me of middle school since my parents played them constantly so it was fun to hear those again. The rest felt too afraid to take risks and just stayed confined to a tried-and-true box for soft rock/pop. 7/10

All the songs are great (or nearly so) and everybody who ever set out to do a break-up album (or poem or novel) can only dream of such success. Still it’s maybe not as interesting (for not being as sprawling or messy) as Tusk. I don’t really follow the song sequencing. The opener and closer both feel out of place – not the best way to start or end. Everything in between is aces, as one used to say, if a little too neatly packaged.

Yeah great brilliant album, overplayed to death and beyond but I guess I shouldn't hold that against 'em.

This album keeps such a good tempo. It’s actually one of my get-shit-done albums. Love this one.

Dreams, Go Your Own Way et The Chain sont des incontournables.

Definitely in that category of great albums from the 70's, even of all-time on some people's lists. When it was released and dominated the radio waves with it's many hits, I tried to avoid getting caught up in the hype of Fleetwood Mac and didn't buy the album. Listening now, the record brings me waves of nostalgia and some weird fuzzy feeling when you think back to your youth...That being said, it is a classic record, but there are other amazing albums that should receive at least half the attention this one did then and now, during it's recent revived interest.

Pour Émilie

Great album

A product of Fleetwood Mac's internal turmoils, "Rumours" is hailed as one of the greatest albums of all time. It's in the top 3 of this generator's global stats, and it apparently contains some of the radio staples in the Western world. This is my second time listening to this. My first time was a long time ago, I remember enjoying the trip as a whole, especially "Dreams", which is perhaps the greatest pop-rock song that I have ever heard. None of these are an overplayed radio track in my country, where every radio station is obsessed with '80s ballads. So listening to it now, it's fairly fresh to my ears. It's not as mind-blowing as some put it, at least for me. It's just an incredibly easy listen, one that would make your feet tap and head bob along the melodies. And it has some interesting instrumental outbursts too, the buildup in "Chain" being a notable example. It's pretty cool how this band, having two couples, were able to translate their conflicts into great music, let alone a pop classic. Truly a masterpiece, not something that I would adore, but it's something that I definitely respect.

Classic.

4 for sure. Creeping up to 4.5 even.

Iconic song after iconic song. Still played all of the time on the radio.

Lovely stuff. Peaks and troughs of energy and emotion, with everyone singing except Messrs Fleetwood and Mac, as it should be.

Bacanudo

Classic status for a damn good reason, 4.5/5

like new artist every song

Rock setentero. Varios megahits. Un 4.

Don't stop, thinking about ... Thunders, You can go your own way, You make loving fun.

ihana! jää ehdottomasti jatkokuunteluun, sopivan pituinen levy ja hyviä ja erityylisiä kappaleita. lempibiisi: go your own way

The 11th album from Fleetwood Mac is a pop rock album and was an instant commercial success. It sold 10 million copies in just a month, and all of the singles charted in the top 10 hot singles. The single "Dreams" is the most popular song from the album. In 1977 and 1978, Rumours won Album of the Year, the latter being a Grammy award. This album is certified 20 times platinum which means it's certified diamond! Rumours is cited as Fleetwood Mac's magnum opus and is one of the best selling albums of all time. The most wonderful part of the music on this album are the harmonies between the three vocalists of the band. These harmonies and the backing pop rock sounds make this album beautiful and of course, a bestseller. Everyone should give this classic a listen!

Album holds up. Super good and catchy. Many hits

Javno priznanje below! "Ja, Luka Balić, priznajem da sam prvim slušanjem htio dati trojku ovom albumu, međutim preslušao sam drugi puta uz šetnju i promijenio sam itekako mišljenje."

A mislim, jel trebam šta govorit?

Not much to say. One of the biggest albums to be released. Not all songs are great but there isn't a lot that would become a skip on a second listen.

Sometimes I forget how many classics there are on this album. Solid from start to finish.

Solid, that is all.

Solid Songs, Songbird, Second hand News, The Chain - favs

Songbird It's not a second hand news if you listen after the first one. Well, Fleetwood Mac at your greatest? It's what they'll tell you, but it was the mid centre of their history, delivering a massive licks and riffs throughout the years, I can tell it's very impressive at least. But to achieve this goal it takes by 10 albums before their classics "Tango In The Night", "Tusk" (it's included on the 1001 list), resuming the facts there were rumours since the begging but the news arrived only at this point. So it works by giving you the notice right after hook your attention in the other side, 11 songs for the eleventh album, you can't control that their best songs are on a side, when you got The Chain.

gold dust woman the best track, followed by the chain and songbird

Iconic with several standout tracks

Beste nummer is "Go Your Own Way" natuurlijk. ****

This is a pretty damn good album. But, hate to be that guy, I always felt that the importance of it is overhyped and it's not as jaw dropping as it gets credit for. Tusk is on par with it imo

Obviously this is excellent and a legendary album BUT it gets so much hype. So overplayed, for good reason but that does dampen my enjoyment. Giving a 4/5 to shake the place up

I think Secondhand News is a great song to open with. It's got a great beat to it. The guitar and Stevie Nicks' performances in Dreams are very good. I love the rebellious Go Your Own Way. The Chain is their best song in how it sounds and how it comes together. Overall, I think it's a pretty good album, definitely not one of my favorites, but I can turn it on and be satisfied

Classic FWM album …. Their best ever…. Big thumbs up

It’s great. I mean, it’s got The Chain. But how often am I going to listen to it?

Thankfully, Lucas already f'd this up from having a full straight of fives so I don't have to. Never listened to this in its entirety and never followed FM, but this album is truly great. Gold Dust Woman, The Chain, and Never Going Back are superb. Some of the others are just overplayed like Don't Stop and Dreams and then there are a couple that drag it down like Songbird and Oh Daddy. But on the whole, I'm super happy to have listened to this one.

17.05.2021.

All time classic, bangers after bangers.

Love it. Some songs are stupid, but the classics are amazing

Nice album.

Go Your Own Way

Suena bien

It's way better than I thought it would be. I guess it's the classic case where the average fan is so repulsive that it tarnishes an otherwise great band

Rightly thought of as a classic.

Couple of great anthems, good guitar solos

Great record, not heard it in its entirety before. Lovely

Just heard this for the first time recently. Great songwriting and arrangement. No questions as to why this is on the list.

The 4 famous tracks give this album a much better reputation that it deserves.

aye, this is class

Another one I used to play on cassette in my car not long after I got my drivers license. The Chain was and still is my favourite song, as was So Afraid on their prior album, so I guess that makes me a big Lindsey Buckingham fan. In listenIng to this LP now, his contribution was pretty significant, but it's the blending of the different vocalists and songwriters that make album. Gold Dust Woman and Dreams are classics, and the rest of the album is solid enough.

Good shit

Rock setentero. Varios megahits.

There’s not much for me to add here as there’s no question that this is an iconic pop/rock album. Dreams and Go your own way are probably two of the best pop tracks ever written, but IMO You make loving fun is right up there with them. The album isn’t perfect though and I would argue that it shouldn’t be ranked higher than DSOTM, Wish you were here, Ziggy Stardust or Sgt Peppers so it gets a 4 from me

I think I like their self-titled album the best, their first album, but this is a good one. The Chain might be my favorite song of theirs.

better than i thought it would be

Good stuff, of course. Impressive to know the band hated each other.

Only started listening to FM in the last few years, but I love this album, surprisingly, considering my distaste for folk, this is almost like a guilty pleasure. Almost, but not quite, cos its actually good. Just some great pop songs here, especially Go your own way and The chain.

Classic rock staple. Overplayed but still extremely good. 8-9/10 1. Dreams 2. Go Your Own Way 3. Never Going Back Again

Incredible. A classic.

I enjoyed their music.

While I'm not a Fleetwood Mac fan, I can't deny that this is a good album. One million times better than Tusk or their other albums.

Cheese.

Classic. Songs that you can move to, songs that you can cry to. Songs that everyone knows. Beautiful guitar tones and voices.

Ach, dieses 'Go Your Own Way' ist von denen?

In the immortal words of The Garbage Bin... “wild stuff. wonder if they made it.” Bajaj!

Has a bunch of hits and some filler.

It’s a classic for a reason

Classic.

Some classics in there, enjoyed listening

Slightly overrated but the singles are huge

Todella hyvän tuulen levy. Pakko tykätä!

Classsssic

Colin likes Fleetwood Mac

1977. Key Songs: Dreams, Never Going Back Again, Go Your Own Way, I Don't Want to Know

great vibe here, good album, there are some flow things that I can't call it a five star

So this is what it is all about? Nah, come on. Couple of good songs and that's it. I was looking forward so much to hearing one of the supposed best albums of all time and it came out to be... this?

the real best divorce album is shoot out the lights by richard and linda thompson but this still rules da chain babey

6/10 This is probably a hot take but aside from some of the hits, I don't really care much for this

Gonna go listen to the new Napalm Death and Melvins collab album now :)

The 2 hits in the album are truly amazing and considered masterpieces of their eras as well as songs that have stood the test of time. The rest is quite forgettable, no songs truly stood out. Album is a 5.5, outside of the chain and dreams there isn't many memorable songs

Very consistent album with good songs all the way through. But for me it lacks any flair which makes it a more boring listen. I believe this is a pretty overrated album and none of the songs are on the next level really. Although overall it was enjoyable to an extent and song for song wasnt a bad album.

is great, but for me only 3 songs truly stood up... this is a selfish review, nothing to do with the band's quality and amazing repertoire.

i mean it's good. certainly a fair choice for the top album on this site. though it feels a bit safe for that honor. it's the one that's objectionable to the fewest people, not the one with the most to give. not all hits, but i do quite like The Chain and Go Your Own Way. deserves to be one of the 1001? yes

Yeah it's cheesy (and it's no Tusk) but this is a fun listen

It’s not cool at all I know but I don’t mind this

Adding this to the list of "albums I expected to hate but actually quite enjoyed". I mean, it's not the most challenging listen but it breezes along, doesn't outstay its welcome and has a fair ratio of enjoyable/memorable songs. Would be a 4 but for Don't Stop, which is a stinker. So it's a 3 from me.

I've never been a fan of Fleetwood Mac. I like some of their songs, but this album confirms my opinion. They have a few nice songs and the rest is not so special.

A good album, but not my type of music.

This one has some great songs and some really weak songs. It's a good listen but I believe the lore is why people are obsessed. Slap Silver Springs and a Planets of the Universe demo on this puppy and the rating goes up a whole star.

this is a fine enough album but has never really been my thing. the chain is good but don't stop is so bad that it cancels out.

Halfway between Simon&Garfunkel and ABBA with even more pop? Not bad but nothing special.

Never really listened to the Mac ( as they are not known ) before . Nice , mellow rock.

It's good. Far on the "pop" side of pop rock. "The Chain" is a really great song. Most of the other songs however just pass by without leaving a mark with me. Perhaps it's too polished, too clean for me. 3/5 - good

Alright I guess

It’s got some good tunes. It also has some …. Not so good tunes. None of their later stuff can come close to the old bluesy Fleetwood.

Went into this album ready for my opinion of music to be shifted. Maybe that expectation was too high. It's fine, I'm not sure what's so special about this album though... It doesn't sound particularly interesting... Go your own way is pretty good, as is the chain. Very high 3

It isn't BAD. It just isn't an album I currently am in the mood to listen to and I don't see myself turning to it often.

Criminally over-rated. Thank God this one is in the rear view mirror.

Rumours' greatest strength is its ability to captivate the listener with relatively subdued acoustic guitar and drum compositions. Outside of that though, the album's not particularly special. "The Chain" is a great track, "Oh Daddy" and Gold Dust Woman" are good, and the rest are decent or just okay.

I preferred the previous and next albums to this one. But give it three for ‘Rhiannon’.

I thought this was supposed to be the LeBron of albums. Instead it’s the guy who was a baller in high school but never made it off the bench in college. Extremely overrated.

kuolinvuoteellani pistäkää soimaan chain

lots of hits on this, non hits are alright

Amazing. Really great album.

some if it was good iguess

classic but i wasn't in love with it

Disco ameno dinámico divertido

I give ts a 7/10, that’s me being generous

I LOVED dreams and the chain but the rest were pretty good

It's... good. (7/1001) That's all i got to say honestly, once i saw the vast amount of streams some songs had i had big expectations... but they weren't met all too well. It's got some good songs here and there, but this one's not for me. I get if someone would put this album while doing their morning routine but i would never see myself listening to this Only standouts: Go Your Own Way, Songbird, The Chain. The rest of the album with no offense sounds like it would belong in a Happy Madison movie. though "The Chain" was actually REALLY good, but it was the only song i actually really liked...

It's good, but I'm not buying that it's great.

A classic to relax

I am not going to shit on this. It is what it is. A cultural phenomenon that doesn’t feel like it could happen today. A perfectly formed style of acceptable blandness. That is really, really hard to do. To hit that many sweet spots to sell so universally well. I just don’t want to listen to it.

way before my time and as a result I can only admire the artistry rather than have any genuine connection to it

Quelques références comme Dreams, songbird, The Chain, Oh Daddy.

It was good. Safe, nothing wrong with it. Not the masterpiece everyone says it is.

Not the biggest Fleetwood fan, this album is really good tho and the story behind the production is even better

It's a good album, but a bit... inoffensive? Christine McVie's songwriting is my favorite. Very heartfelt. Everyone mentions the turbulent context of this album's production, but I hear none of it in the actual music. Highlights: Songbird, The Chain, Go Your Own Way, Your Make Loving Fun, Gold Dust Woman

I refuse to listen to this album!

I know this is a blasphemy but I’m not a huge Fleetwood Mac Fan. I don’t know who Oeter Green is or was other than he’s associated with this band. I know this um is the big album but I’ve never felt compelled to listen to it. Opening track “Second hand news” is a great track. I never knew this was Fleetwood Mac. Sometimes I think albums and band like this are a so revered, but radio only plays the singles and I grew up when you could only buy this album or that album and you chose carefully so you didn’t regret it. Ugh. Second track “Dreams” I’m already bored. Goodness this album is going to be a roller coaster ride. This track “Never Going Back Again” is a fantastic song that I again didn’t know was Fleetwood Mac. Track 4 “Don’t Stop”. The theme seems to be if I never knew it was Fleetwood Mac, I like the song. 🤣 Track 5 “Go your own way” is the exception. I knew it was Fleetwood Mac and still like it. 😂🤣 Song Bird was good. The Chain is good at points. Track 8 does nothing for me. So the rest of this album is boring. Next is gold dust woman and I know I don’t like that already.
