Eternally Yours
The SaintsPunk has got to be the most formulaic, generic genre ever. Even more so than drum and bass.
Punk has got to be the most formulaic, generic genre ever. Even more so than drum and bass.
Wow instant classic
One of the most influential albums of all time. An easy 5 for Tomorrow Never Knows alone.
Good but so bloated it's unreal
One of the most famous songs of all time, says it all, and it's a good album!
Repetitive but catchy, fun vocals, very complex beats at parts
Technically brilliant, audibly not my taste
Great beats, first half absolutely rocks, starts to get a bit dull towards the end
Psychedelic, too repetitive, not something I would listen to
Brilliant for its time
2 Bangers and a shitload of fillers
One of the best albums ever made. Every song becomes a new favourite.
Dull, rock by numbers.
Not my genre, but I really enjoyed Rondo and Take Five
Not surprised the first track was the most popular, but an OK listen
Quite catchy, a little too much random shouting for me.
Although it's not their best, this album really shows off their musical prowess
Dad rock at its most confusing, it got better towards the end.
Makes dishwater feel exciting
Starts to trail off in the middle but some great tracks and a mix of genres
An enjoyable experience, amazing guitars, truly unique vocals
A classic, every song hits except Jazz Police.
Felt like an unnecessary show of ability, there was no song that sounded cohesive
Not their best
Simple but so effective. I was singing along before the song finished and that is rare
Catchy, strong beats, but feels like it doesn't change tempo at any point (too repetitive)
An interesting album, one of the best blends of guitar and horns I've heard. The drummer is phenomenal!
What an album! Jimi is a very underrated vocalist, the drumming on the album is also exceptional
Excellent guitar playing but I can't connect with it if I can't understand the lyrics
Singer is terrible, nothing exciting.
An OK listen, harmonica is brutal in places
Weird but not boring
Slight Christmas vibes? But the songs were too similar, no variety.
Masterpiece
Excellent album
Not bad on first listen, although doesn't compare to the smiths
The best thing about this album is that it's under 20 minutes. After two songs of going crazy it really starts to wear off.
This was much better than the other one suggested by this app. However, the harmonica sounds horrendous 9 times out of 10
Bat-sh*t crazy. Very strange composition
The second half is much much better than the first half. Redeemed by the second half.
Bloated. Felt like a lot of the songs could've been B-Sides.
Ok
Right up my street, a mix of psychedelic rock and Brit Pop
Great album. Excellent blend of hip hop and jazz.
Easily listenable, excellent rhythms. I can appreciate them for the unique corner of music they helped shape.
Voice is a struggle to listen to. Good lyrics, mix of styles across the songs.
Absolutely mental.
A good album. Starts brilliant, but it has its flaws. Trails off towards the end.
Brilliant. Every song hits.
Some great, some average. A very bloated album that could have been thinned out.
Very listenable with the exception of the title track.
Very catchy for a casual jazz listener
I was excited for this one but found it underwhelming. Vocals are atrocious in places and he has a good voice.
This would be a greatest hits for most bands.
It was the definition of OK, felt very safe.
Catchy but superficial
Relaxing album, nostalgic, great voice
Dreadful
Too saucy
Too dull for me, lyrics feel lifeless
Classic
Really good, but a bloated album
Amazing opening of an album, starts to deift by the second half. Amazing lyricist , amazing voice, the production is sometimes a bit repetitive
A slow burner, accidentally left on repeat and it was better on the second listen
I didn't get it
It's good but don't get the hype
Bored, stopped halfway
Not something I'd typically listen to, but great grooves and love the song that has country influence added
Nothing special
A Classic (Boy named Sue is one of my favs)
Soulful, drums are incredible, really liked it
It's distinctly average, I think I enjoyed the last track the most.
Classic
Listened to this on the day my son was born, it was an odd listen
Amazing
Really good would listen again
Really enjoyed it, will listen again
Enjoyed the first half more than the second, the perfect edge of pop
Some good songs, some too long, easily listening
Really interesting combination of jazz and African beats
Meh
I actually can't listen to it, it's unbearable
Very good to wash the dishes with! Too many instrumentals for my liking.
Expected it to be better to be honest
A little disappointed, I expected better
Great first listen, would listen again
Merry Christmas!
Too many songs but very listenable!!
Instrumentals were dull, but Heroes and the last track really stood out
Heavy metal innit
Great voice, but some underwhelming songs in between
Very fun listen
Surprisingly good, was expecting worse, but it didn't blow me away either.
Bloated but good
Surprisingly OK
Catchy as hell, I've bookmarked some songs from this
Some great songs and some absolutely unnecessary songs
Very good listen, didn't realise how many songs were his
Decent!
Dull
Atmospheric in places
A lot more listenable than the previous recommended Rolling Stones album
I like DMC but every song sounds the same
An OK listen
A local classic, Digsy's dinner is a bit shit
A good listen
Need to listen again
Not a great voice but listenable
It's an instrumental album
Bland
Absolute bop
The Man doesn't miss
Classic
Enjoyable listen
Excellent, short and sweet
Good, for it's time
Noise
Catchy beats, Soft Play should expect a letter in the post
Most average band on earth
A decent listen, she has a great voice but it isn't very different to her other album on here
Bland, formulaic, boring
A good fusion of genres!
Great background listen
Wow!
A good background listen
Meh
A classic
Good listen but not genre defining
Ok
Crazy
Weird
Class
Really good fusion of genres
Shite
Good, grunge??
Will listen again
I wasn't blown away
Might need to listen again
A good listen, that's one hell of a monologue though
Pleasantly surprised
Not my genre but an enjoyable listen, you can hear what he us saying
I mean it's cheesy rock
Ok
Not bad!
Meh
It's Duran Duran...
Wow, and it's nearly 60 years old!
Wasn't on Spotify, listened to Pieces of man instead, absolute quality
An enjoyable listen but it highlights how basic some of the songs are
I enjoyed it, more atmospheric than Urban Hymns. But Urban Hymns still takes the crown for me, its generational.
Reviews were right
Amazing for 1969
Good "listen while you work" album
A bit basic past Teenage Kicks
Pretty good! Ignore the Eagles haters
Unique and simple at the same time
Distinctly average
It was OK, you can hear a lot of Bowie in this
A good listen but not mind-blowing
Experimental and weird for its time
My worst nightmare
I can respect the genre but at the same time it's cringeworthy
Classic
Good but it's not Songs in the Key of Life
Blues is blues
Caught me by surprise it was a great listen
Some great songs, enjoyable listen
Very enjoyable listen
Hard to access but from what I've heard it was quite good!
Fun and weird!
Boring
Lifeless
I really liked this. Note to self: listen again!
Deserves a 5, I've listened before but this time I properly listened. Lyrics are simple but somehow fresh.
I was waiting for it to end as it was very long, but it was a good listen!
I appreciate that music is art, but I can't imagine anyone thinking "ooooh ill listen to Ghosteen today" (and I listen to radiohead)
3 stars for being a good pianist
Nothing really stood out
This guy is a joker!
Actually enjoyed this, I can see why she gets plaudits
A great rap album if not disturbing
Quite food!
Enjoyed it! Always loved Holding Back The Years, it's a beautiful song
Yeah it's darn good
It was OK
Short!
I will listen again
Some good tracks, voice is shocking
Some were bad, some were excellent
Love Led Zep, not a 5 star album though
Need to listen again
Nirvana rip off and it didn't blow me away
Didn't make me want to listen
Some interesting adaptations
A lot of heavy lifting from the title track
Didn't care for this
Ok
Really unique and deserves its place on the list
Average
Enjoyed it but nothing stood out
Haunting voice but he should have been a better father
I can respect the cultural significance and production of this album, some unnecessary misogynistic songs knock it down to 4 stars, but it ain't my scene
Got better towards the end
Not my music but I can respect the style
Wow
Just darn tooting good country
AVERAGE, voice is horrendous
Best example of Irish fusion
An enjoyable listen
It gets an extra star for that weird German accent song
I respect her unmistakable sound buy why have multiple albums they all sound the same
For all that effort it's fairly average
Fun!
Accidentally listened to the rework but I still enjoyed it!
Good for a live album
Good jazz!
I really liked the drum patterns in some of these songs
You had to be there
Every Dylan album im thinking "oh god not again" but it always ends up alright, it's like Gammon. Also, I want to shove that Harmonica up his arse.
Did I really need to hear this before I die?
Fun
People rating him as a person let's hope they did the same with MJ
Brilliant
A good laugh
Dark!
Bizarre but respectable
Just madness and not much thought
Respect to it for its time but it nearly made me fall asleep
Voice was too heavy for me, but the melody was GOOD
Although it's good you can see their formula appearing in a lot of songs and the variety wanes thin
90 minutes of my life I'm never getting back
Punk by numbers
They are amazing songwriters
Not my genre but instantly a bop
It was a psychedelic era, and this was just one of those albums, it was OK
I liked this and I can't really explain why, there was a ska beat song which had me bopping
Some albums define a period of time. This album does that
Fun to listen but didn't find it memorable
Groove is in the Heart sticks out like a sore thumb
Where the f*** did Monday go?
Dull, Mrs Robinson stuck out. Second half got better.
Bopping in the sun but it didn't grab me
Perfect example of that very specific genre, nice to listen to in the morning
Really enjoyed this one, note to self: a good work album
Great harmonies, and California Dreamin' was a banger
Enjoyed it, for how old it is, it's still a good listen.
Lovely pre iron maiden stuff, but why a live album?
A polarising album which is reason enough to be on the list. Also there's some absolute head-bangers on this stop worrying about the lyrics (if Hot Dog wasn't on it people would rate it higher)
An OK reggae album?
Better than the other pavement album!
Some good songs, some get lost
This was interesting and I would listen to it again (which is saying something compared to a lot of the other albums)
Average, last song was the best
It was OK to listen to
Meh, maybe it was influential I don't know
Precursor to Pet Sounds? Just give me Pet Sounds?
I'd give this 4.5, catchy beats, he's got a good scream
It was OK, I enjoy psychedelic but it didn't blow me away
It wasn't bad, a lot of 1-star reviews sound pretty biased. It's not something I would listen to again personally but to say it's 1-star is mad.
It's understated with a powerful message and that voice is so unique!
Classic disco
Not my thing but cemented the genre, would've preferred chase and status or disclosure
Ace of Spades is great but the problem is their music is formulaic. Same song on repeat.
Dull and I can't understand the appeal of thrash metal, there's no variety (apart from one song)
I've now realised I like Paul Simon
More arty than music
Good ambient music, I think I like trip-hop?
It is a very good album
The album tracks are wildly different to the single tracks, which just gives it a 'filler' vibe
Did I really need to hear this album before I died?
I enjoyed it, calming influence
A very good album that captures a mood
I can appreciate her voice and the variety in the songs, but the second song on the album took a star off for me
Classic rock gets boring
Some great songs, great story behind it too.
Not as good as their artistic predecessors
Formulaic and unoriginal
It seems to be a huge influence on post Punk so it gets 3 from me. However, it didn't really stand out and it had that very typical post Punk voice
Good!
No one would say "ooooh let's put a bit of Medulla on..."
It was OK but hasn't aged well
Different, and some very memorable songs
I found this ok, I was expecting it to be horrendous
Enjoyed it at first but half of it sounds like demo tracks
It's not my taste
Good rock, not 5 though
Not bad
A strong album with some big hits, but sadly not 5
I don't any other album like this
Can you dance to it? Yes Can you rock to it? Yes What's cheese got to do with it?
It was just nice
Strange to hear a 60s record from the 00s
Just sounds like any Talking Heads album
One if the more accessible international albums
Uninspiring
Clearly influential but it's not something I would pick up again
Average
Just no
Somewhere in this album is probably a 5* album. However there's just too much fluff to ever take it seriously
Severely out of date ideologies, probably one of the original trolls of music. He is however an excellent lyricist.
Some classics, a few fillers
Very catchy, and varied for a hip hop album
I was looking forward to this one but just disappointed at how rappers instantly go for the cliche racist/misogynistic lyrics. I want a rap album that's just quality and not padded when there's nothing else to rap about. Hard to give a rap album 5* for this reason.
Dull
It's got some excellent songs and some fairly average songs that I just don't get. His voice is obscenely good and he should be making more music than what he's already achieved
I may revisit this as I enjoyed some songs on it
This was probably seminal for indie music but now it is a very average REM album
One of the worst radiohead albums and it's amazing
Not my thing
Pretty listenable, but first metal album? I think Led Zepp beat them to it
Wow, the production is amazing for an album from 1970 and some of the openers give me chills!
Cheesy and it knows it. I'm all for it.
Trip hop is cool but this was too repetitive for me
Love this album, I remember the CD being naturally really quiet and having yo dangerously pur my speakers on max just to hear it. I've never really focused on the guitar work before but Mark Knopfler's guitar playing is sublime
Very long chill music
This is why I use the generator. This album is so familiar yet so strange at the same time. His lyricism is mad, and he has a kind of Alex Turner thing going on lyrically. I preferred Scott 4 but this was a very unique listen.
Strong album with some ridiculously fast pace, loved it!
Dull and lifeless
Fun to listen to the 17 minute track otherwise the rest was very run of the mill
I really really wanted to like this. It has a cult following in Manchester and I know the story about the band and the production of the album, but it's just a one-hit wonder album (especially when There She Goes is wildly different to the rest of the album)
Disjointed, one half is rock and the other half is electronica?
The kind of album you'd blast in your back garden on a sombre but sunny Sunday
I get it, he's different. But he does not warrant the number of albums he has on this list, many songs feel like they were written, recorded, produced with little love and I get the feeling of records being churned out with this guy. It's the little details that make a song and there are no little details.
This was different and I really enjoyed it!
Loved this, captured Keith Moon's exceptional drumming
Really.enjoyed it and I will listen again
This album would be amazing if produced in 2024, it's difficult to appreciate all the layers to it
Wow!
Hasn't aged well but title track is good!
Great album with iconic songs
Very very good, but is it perfect?
This was unexpectedly fun!
Their magnum opus didn't grab me and neither did this
Mesmerising
First half was good
Wow, lived this, so simple but speaks to the heart
Wow Stevie Wonder does not miss. The first track is unbelievably modern for a 50+ year old track
Good jazz
Funky
Boring I'm sorry
Horny bugger
Classic
Had a cool feeling but nothing I'd really go back to
Unashamedly 80s, and I'm here for it
Good album, I don't think it's going to bring me back though
People saying most average album ever and then giving it 1 star is amusing... I just feel like this is a run-of-the-mill pop album, but it seems to be worshipped as an all time great. The Fame by Lady Gaga is better. Side note: Zane Lowe ranking this as greater than Revolver by The Beatles is absolutely wild.
It's good when a band release a 4* album... it's amazing when a band releases a 5* album... it's radiohead when radiohead release a radiohead album
There were 2 standout tracks for me and the rest felt like background noise
Serious funk, I really enjoyed listening to it. However, this is a perfect example of a bloated album preventing a potential classic.
Enjoyed it, might give it another listen
Makes Bon Jovi sound mint
Good pop jazz, didn't stand out.
Not my scene, at all.
They're a bit formulaic, I'm on to them...
Run-of-the-mill. Songs for the deaf is better in every aspect.
Good but so bloated it's unreal
It was just OK, gets a bit lifeless and repetitive after a while.
I enjoyed this one and will come back to it!
3 stars for the drum fills alone. Prog rock is strange.
Unbearable
I really enjoyed this despite not being a country fan
It was just OK
Dylan's best and I don't really like him
There's a reason why album's need a change of pace
Jazzy jay
Recency bias? It's OK, it's weird, not a fan of his voice
Every great singer has their mad moment
Not my music at all but was interesting to listen to
Didn't really strike a chord with me
It's a classic to my youth so I'm biased
I don't get it
Had a cheeky rock n roll to this
Surprisingly enjoyed this, will listen again
Nandos
Very accessible, but you can tell there's no substance
Shite, listened to MF DOOM instead
Interested at first, repetitive by the end
This was interesting and will listen again with a sober head
More interesting than the other White Stripes album on here
A metal album I could actually listen to!
One of the most famous songs of all time, says it all, and it's a good album!
Repetitive
Listenable, felt like a crescendo was on the horizon and it would just fizzle out
Drummer is good but my god did every song sound the same
Mad album but I respect the variety
Meh
Nice to listen to
I get the idea but could've been executed a lot better
Dross
French Scott Walker?
Enjoyable!
Moving out and tidying up to this album was a bop
Once youve heard one you've heard them all
One of my favourite albums, a perfect blend of Britpop / Indie / Psychedelic music
Average
2* for the drums
It was OK
I don't get it (voice is really bad on this one)
Almost protesting the generator system with this one as it clearly wasn't meant to ve listened to in a day. Becomes formulaic very quickly.
Shite
Maps is good, rest is OK
A very strong album, Elvis sounds more like a singer than a performer in this album
Drags a bit at the end but full of great songs. The cover of Comfortably Numb is Uncomfortably Good!
Grime is a weird genre, but this is probably the most accessible grime album and I respect that he created this so young, superb talent.
Wow, it's mint. The 12 minute song though...
Cafe music
It was jolly
Not bad tbf recognised the first two
Very soothing
Quite enjoyed this
Has all the makings of a great rock album, but it misses the mark
Average
Brimming with youth
I like this it's different
Better than I thought it would be
It was OK, I get why people say every song sounds the same though
Enjoyed it will listen again
Held back by the expectations of its generation
Strange
Shite
Maybe it's because I had a string of 1-star albums before this but I really enjoyed it and her unique voice
Funky
Just misses the 5. Amazing voice, amazing lyricism, the instrumentation left me wanting more though
I want to give it 5*, but his voice does not provide the depth on these songs. An amazing album.
Once you've heard one you've heard them all
Really?
Strange but listenable
Good old fashioned rock n roll
Didn't enjoy this at all and I've enjoyed most of the jazz on here
Not my scene but 21 questions is a tune
It's good but not perfect. It deserves its place for its interesting twist of indie music with a vintage 60s feel
Utterly bizarre
Nostalgic for me, second half of this album is so strange though
The 1001 not only has good albums, but albums that define a genre. Even though the genre sucks, this does define it
Enjoyed this will listen again
Loved it
Strange but very cool for its time
Will give this another listen
Distinctly average
It was unconventional reggae and still had rhythm, it deserves to be on the list because it's so weird. Just not really my cup of tea.
Enjoyed parts of this
Good but doesn't top some of the other hiphop on here
Could've been better if it wasn't TOO LONG
Actually really enjoyed it. A perfect example of well crafted pop with just enough variety to keep it interesting
Meh
World music is always hard to judge, but I didn't hate it
Enjoyed this more than I thought I would
Another album that was just OK
I liked this and might revisit
One of the most influential albums of all time. An easy 5 for Tomorrow Never Knows alone.
Fun country ballads! Not something I would seek out though
If you want an album of ballads you've come to the right place
Great album with some absolute classics
Pleasant
Fun but incredibly short? Not sure why I had to hear it
I don't get it, great voice though
Dull
I've never heard anything like this and I'll have to come back to it
Trippy! But there's better chemical brothers albums out there
Dull
Disappointed by this album but there's a reason why Seven Seas of Rhye is the most popular song
OK
Listenable
I enjoyed it but an album of covers really?
OK, one of them bands where everything sounds good but it just feels bland put together
Influential album that must have sounded so good at the time, but it's aged now.
This is the best Neil Young record I've had so far. A good variety of songs although the last song droned on.
It started interesting and quickly became so experimental that it wasn't fun to listen to
There's a time and a place for this album and the covers are respectful
I respect the boldness to completely change your musical direction. Hip-hop, jazz, and cheesy pop? Sign me up!
They're like Gammon... I would never choose it, but when I do it's nice...
I'm being nice here when I'm saying that maybe it was influential? I've never heard such repetitive garbage in my life
Good album of covers. There's a lot of arseholes in the music industry, people need to separate the person from the music. Or at the very least be consistent with their judgement.
Kids... don't do drugs...
An hour of my time I'm never getting back
Wow instant classic
Enjoyable listen!
Enjoyed this, although a ballad about a sex doll??
The best Jam album I've had
Blown away by this album, I do already like her Introvert album but this album really shows how diluted rap has become, relying too much on sampling and voice changers. This brings it back to its core.
Nice country but it's just not my thing
Some good songs but terrible production (no fault of theirs)
Strange
It was just OK, there are better albums of that genre 15 years before
Punk has got to be the most formulaic, generic genre ever. Even more so than drum and bass.
Foot-tappers with zero meaning, I'm not a fan
A defining sound that nobody else can match. He captures melancholy with basic rhythms that stick in your head for days. This album is more than just the singles.
Shite
Great album, 5 stars for how they've created such an unmistakable sound. Marr's riffs, Morrisey's vocals, it's all gravy.
If its shite, is it art?
A good listen, not really my scene but who doesn't like Free Bird?
It's the blues, sounds like the blues
Sounds like a crazy guy in his garage and tbf it sounds good!
Gimme shelter is a belter
Absolute madness but the ears adjust so it's worthy of being on the list
I made the mistake of reading the reviews first, it clouded my judgement. I found it just OK.
I really wanted to like it, but I didn't.
iTunes preview merchants (also where the hell was the drummer for 80% of this record?)
It was different and I respect that, but it's not my scene
Meh
Not what I was expecting at all. 17 minute song is a bit much.
Nobody asked for a soundtrack to a movie that doesn't exist with an intro about thrusting your pelvis
Bored me to tears
What a rough week for albums but this was listenable
Fun!
Possibly a 5, would have to listen again!
This isn't my music at all, but I can really respect the control the singer has on his voice and also the band has with the instruments. One of those rare moments where a whole band is completely in sync with the idea and it has to be the best of its genre.
It was OK
Nah
Average
Fun
This will be the known as the album i listened to when I went to the beach with my son and had a great time (and ice cream)
This was dull as dishwater
It's too avant-garde for me
I feel like it's the same song written 10 times
Wow it was long
Pretty average reggae album with a half decent story
Strange but influential i guess?
Could be a 5* if it wasn't bloated with random sub 2-minute songs that no one listens to
Machine Gun was about as fun as it gets
I think the singer changed at one point because it went from ROARRRRRRRRRRRRR to more of a WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH! That was the best moment.
Listenable
This was very good. Eric Clapton is a racist, and yet reviewers refer to this as "white boy blues". Wonders never cease.
Unusual
Bloated (unless I got the deluxe!). It shows you how far music has come.
A fun listen and I'll revisit
Much better than some of the other heavy stuff on here. But not my bag.
It's just enough weird to be uncomfortable. But I respect the direction and I imagine it was influential.
A better formulaic post Punk album but not enough variety for 4*
It's not something I would immediately listen to but every single song is a hit and that has to be respected. One of the best popular singer-songwriter albums ever made.
It was OK
Reggae is reggae
Composition is great, lyrics left a lot to be desired
Not my scene but I respect the effort it must take
Very raw KoL, i prefer Because of the Times
Not what I expected at all, Moving on Up is bait to a totally different album and then all of a sudden you've got an acid album on your hands. But I enjoyed quite a few songs. 4* for the bravery.
I struggled to connect with it (Fontaines do a great cover of Cello song)
I like Happy Mondays but thus was meh
Good in places average in the rest (a 3.5)
Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit
A very important bridge for The Beatles, but not 5*
I've had 3 sonic youth albums now and I'm convinced theyre trying to sound cool. Only song that grabbed me schizophrenia .
I respect it but I wouldn't listen to it
Masterpiece, and INFINITELY better than bloody Bookends
I agree with others not sure why this is on the list
Genuinely quite good but realistically I'm never going to listen again
Unique, but his voice is grating
This was fun but there is a better album of theirs on the list
A very good album (one of the best post-split albums?)
I found this quite good and it was clearly influential as I can hear a lot of modern rock stars in this style of singing. Might even listen again!
Not my kind of Bowie but it was good and it was funky!
It's just boring!
It's one of my favourites so it's a no brainer. How the songs are so varied yet still feel cohesive is why this album is perfect.
I really enjoyed this and it must have felt like a fresh idea at the time, although it trails off a bit after Miles.
It was OK
Well it was different I'll give it that!
This is one of those albums that I know people really love, and I simply cannot get into it. I'm not sure if its the over-strummed guitars, or his voice which just doesn't change emotion at all. Whatever it is, i can respect that it's different and it was a sound of my generation but I just can't tune to it.
Self indulgent and shitty.
Let's be honest
Really enjoyed it, will definitely relisten
First song was really good and then the rest just sort of repeats
Do we need multiple Slipknot?
Quite liked it!
I would have to listen again for a potential 5. But it's a 4.5 for now, I really enjoyed it.
Love this album, very close to my heart.
If 6 was 9 is my favourite Hendrix track, and I was expecting the album to follow that pattern but it's actually less psychedelic then I thought it would be (apart from the first track which is audio madness)
Quite literally listening to paint dry
This would be a 4* if it wasn't so long!
I really enjoyed it but it's very long, I might revisit and update rating.
It was OK
Amazing album, doesn't unnecessarily prolong it's stay, it just arrives and goes "here's my music" and flies off justbas quick. Love his lyrical style and love the overall Bowie production
Bored me to tears
First track was .making me think what the hell is this? But I started to like it track by track and will definitely give it another listen. Headphones is a must.
4* for being so modern psych so early in the 70s
Was very accessible from start to finish, a fun joy ride, and some great drumming.
Meh and apparently they're thieves too?
Didn't blow me away, wasn't bad either
I don't mind this kind of hip hop but when you have social commentary in your album about white people being intimidated by the songs and black hip hop stereotypes and then go on to prove them right it's just not a good look.
Having heard the other Ramdy album, there is no need for this one too
Fun but expected
Fun!
It was fun but not sure why it had to be on the list, ill communication is more iconic
What in the prog is this?
It was just OK. Any longer it would have got 2 stars.
I wanted to like this but it is on the edge of arty music and just plain boring.
It is what it is innit?
This was fun and I'd revisit
This kind of album isn't my thing but I can respect it. There's enough variety in there and the harmonies are immaculate!
No reason for this album, his other one was good. If your voice isn't the strongest then you have to demonstrate experimentation but it's just the same song again and again.
Rappers desperate to use these as samples, felt like a demo
A surprise in every way
Not my scene at all but far more listenable!
I'll be honest I was expecting something more but I guess it's one of those influential albums that resulted in better albums
This is a great album. It's unapologetically 80s in its sound, and when it gets a bit dull Prince whacks in a ridiculous guitar riff to bolster its defenses. I'll listen to it again on headphones.
I didn't engage with this like i did with disintegration
Just no. 2* for track 1.
This was a very good album even though his voice is shot
A fun little trip through hip hop. To be enjoyed in moderation.
It's ABBA
Listenable, most definitely influential, but will i listen to it again?
Its everything I thought it would be and less
This was good
Entertaining on first listen but would it start to grate after a while?
It made me Happy on a Wednesday
Really enjoyed this one, there's no filler
Absolute tosh, weird for the sake of it, adds nothing of value. Beautiful People gets a 2*
A fun listen but i can't say I had to hear it before dying.
What a dull genre.
Quality album, great stories and just a pleasure to listen to.
Another example of being a talented musician with no end product
It didn't blow me away, first half was better than second half
This didn't really add anything when you have PJ Harvey on the list.
Not as good as the other inclusion on the list.
Fun!
This was good but my wife summed it up perfectly. It's good because she makes it good, but there's no individual song that you think "that's a GREAT song"
A little repetitive in places but really good
Love the chemical brothers but it's not a 5*
A product of its time, maybe a late 90s version would be less... cheesy?
Short and sweet (necessary though?)
It was good but it was 2 notes away from stumbling into B52's love shack
Just meh
Listenable
I get why this is on the list, second half is very unusual. His voice bores me to tears though!
Peak Iron Maiden
Deserves to be on the list I just didn't like it at all.
REM are ok. A greatest hits band for me personally.
Enjoyed this, will listen again
It's warranted a second listen
I dont mind the Pet Shop Boys but this is my worst nightmare of an album
Don't get his voice at all
Obviously an interesting backstory, but let's not pretend that this is just incohesive madness dressed up as art. Not only is it crop, but its dull!
There's enough in here to make it worthwhile, and it's hugely successful. The first 2 tracks are classic KoL, but it then gets a bit run-of-the-mill.
Light hearted but predictable
I can't stand Kanye West. I think he is a tit. But this album is bold and in your face and definitely deserves to be on the list. I strangely enjoyed it.
Better than other Punk albums on here. Sick of Punk now though.
A bit of fun
Yeah it wasn't bad
This is one if those influential albums that just feels dated now. But you can hear how important it was at the time.
Possibly THE dullest album of all time
